i wanted to make a silly team this morning and went with gravity. i was expecting a disaster but its gone like 19-2 and its insanely fun, so now i really wanna make this work.

For anyone not totally aware, gravity:
  • Grounds all pokemon (this includes flying types, levitate, air balloon, magnet rise). This makes them susceptible to ground moves, spikes, arena trap, etc.
  • Drops evasion 2 stages, or a 0.6 multiplier. Anything with more than 60% accuracy will never miss.
  • Nulls certain moves, most importantly HJK and bounce.
  • It lasts 5 turns, including the turn it was used on.

Forretress @ Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
IVs: 0 HP / 0 Def / 0 SpA / 0 SpD
- Explosion
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Gravity

Lead pretty much any game when I feel like they arent just gonna taunt it or have magic bounce. Drop rocks, gravity, explosion. or just gravity & die sometimes. Rapid spin just for hazard trading and whatnot. Explosion is really obvious but its a good way to get the party started.

EVs are to take as much damage as possible while dealing as much as possible with explosion.

starmie.gif

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder
- Blizzard
- Gravity

There are a lot of great special moves with shit accuracy that gravity allows you to use without fear. Starmie has access to a bunch of these along with gravity itself. The damage output is absolutely insane and analytic can make it really hard to switch into as well.

meowstic.gif

Meowstic @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Thunder Wave
- Gravity

Okay so gravity doesnt have the best distribution. I wanted a super-reliable means of turning on gravity, which limited me to superfast mons (basically only alakazam), and the two prankster ones in meowstic or sableye. I was leaning towards prankster way more, and screens/t-wave have been extremely useful. I just feel really weird because its meowstic. It can lose a bit of momentum but overall ive been very pleasantly surprised with this silly thing.

EVs are just to tank hits, which with screens it does a decent job of. It doesnt really wall anything, but it tends to find its way in multiple times. also just getting a screen up can turn a threat into a safe switch in or even setup bait for one of the sweepers. Very little reason to invest in anything but bulk since there arent really any priority moves that cause too many problems.

landorus-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian @ Earth Plate
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
- Rock Polish

Double dance lando with earth plate for extra fun. Very often will just use one boosting move, kill something, and then get out. With the right screen up it can pretty reliably get both boosts and at that point you basically win. Had life orb at first but the residual damage is a big problem. Gravity is super good for edgequake for pretty obvious reasons.

Probably really doesnt need max/max though.

garchomp.gif

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Poison Jab
- Facade

Scarf chomp is 100 times better when you cant dodge EQ. Poison jab is a bit better against fairies but ive literally never clicked it. facade is so he can eat a burn and still accomplish something but again its never come up. I'll probably make it jolly the first time i die to zardx but it hasnt happened yet.

scizor-mega.gif

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 84 Atk / 164 SpD / 12 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
- Roost

Meta as hell scizor. Rounds off a lot of holes like weavile or raikou and sets up on a loooooot of things. Priority is super nice as well. Makes zero use of gravity but thats okay.

The 12 speed evs are from an old team but i dont remember why theyre there.

I don't have any threatlist for this cuz i really havent run into any major roadblocks with this. Some thing like megaman or ice punch lop have called for a lot of shuffling around though. Rain is a huge pest too. I just kinda want help seeing if there are any major threats or cores that give this team total hell.

Hi, I really like gravity teams.
But, I've some tips for you.
Starmie is good.
Scizor is good.

Scizor needs a switch on fire Heatran is perfect. It loves gravity help.
You could try an offensive stallbreaker set.
Magma Storm can't fail under gravity.
Taunt helps with many threats.
Earth power for Rotom-W and other Heatran, the first only under gravity.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Toxic

Gravity teams love spikes+sr abuse.
Ferrothorn is fantastic.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Spikes
- Power Whip

Landorus-T work better with CS in this team because helps to win the speed tie.

Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
- U-turn

Finally a Cleric, Chansey is the best. It forces lot of switch, and its your status absorber.

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Gravity
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss
- Heal Bell

Finally
Chansey<-Mewostic
CSLandorus-T<- EPLandorus
Heatran<- Garchomp
Ferrothorn<- Forretress

Writting this as I go.

Testing the Team.

OK I don't think you need to take out the 3-gravity-core out in any way.
If you plan on switch one of them, bring other gravity setters.

This team is GREAT and really easy to play, really fun.

It has a hard time versus Mega Hercross....I didn't find any easy way of dealing with him.
Custap explosion doesn't take any move from him since it outspeeds, and it'll break sturdy since It can SD on it turn one and you can't do anything about it.
Only Outrage Garchomp and that's a Sac right there.

Ok things I found that are great

*Custap Explosion Forresstress is amazing.
Rapid spin is useless on him since you won't have time to click it so....

Rapid spin < Spikes (since if you'll have a spare move racking up more hazard is way more beneficial since you're no hazard weak or anything.)

Starmie is at a Great spot.

ATM checking Adamant : Rock polish knock off instead of Rock polish swords dance.

I'll let you know

REALLy fun team

ty. alexx your suggestions are fine but i wanna keep it hyper offense.

I havent minded trading something to damage mega hera because lando, garch, and starmie can all kill it pretty easily after prior damage.

mega sableye is something else i totally overlooked though an absolutely needs an answer to. Currently I'm thinking dropping scizor for standard Zardx, garchomp for SD LO terrakion, and giving lando the scarf, which may be a lot more well rounded. Weavile becomes much more of a problem in that case but at least it doesnt wall the entire team lol.

I definitely find time to use rapid spin if we hazard trade at the start. I probably would get more milage out of spikes though. im gonna keep it for a bit as i try out zard and drop it if i dont really need to spin much.

I agree with you, but you can't have a HO offensive team, when you need a turn for use Gravity, your sweeper have to be bulky. I'm sorry for my english, but it isn't my language.

Lando is actually a really good user of Gravity as a move, being hands down the best setter of the move in the meta. This is due to the fact that having to set up gravity and then switch it in leaves it with only 3 turns to take full advantage of it (less if it chooses to set up). Therefore, I feel that you're better off running Gravity+Turn+EdgeQuake so as to take best advantage of it.
Landorus-T @ Earth Plate
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Gravity
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
While GravStarmie is certainly not bad (its super fast), this team doesn't really take good advantage of it because the team lacks any form of hazard removal outside of your suicide lead, which leads to a huge Spikes weakness. Therefore, I feel that running Spin>Gravity on it (w/ the Lando Gravity) is definitely the best way to go about this so that your team doesn't get sh*t on by spikes stacking teams.
Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Rapid Spin
- Thunder
- Blizzard
Finally, ScarfChomp doesn't really provide any notable synergy with the team. Sure, Quake always hitting is great. However, it is redundant coverage both offensively and defensively, and the team benefits hugely from having a trapper to eliminate threats to the team. Due to the offensive nature of the squad, I suggest running speedy Wobbuffet>Garchomp with Pursuit>Swords Dance on Scizor as Wobb can trap and eliminate offensive threats while also breaking down walls like Chansey, Clefable and Quagsire (all of which are big bugbears for the team) with Encore (locks them into a useless move like Softboiled or Recover, can be easily refreshed due to Wobb's high speed)+Tickle (lowers their Atk and Def) to the point where they get OHKOed by Scizor's Pursuit, allowing them to be trapped and eliminated with ease.
Wobbuffet @ Leftovers
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 28 HP / 124 Def / 128 SpD / 228 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk

- Tickle

Yeah I shifting gravity to lando and making starmie the spinner. Lando definitely gets the most work done under gravity but its kinda hard to grav>switch>boost>attack and really accomplish anything. This opens up spikes on forretress too.

I like the wobbuffet too but im not super sure (team has serious dark weaknesses). I dropped meowstick for sash alakazam to try and help with the loss of damage and also to kind of deal with mega sableye with dazzling gleam (which is still quite a problem i think).

I love suggestions here, I'll help out with testing them out!
Also, scizor is only good for weavile but has no synergy and Garchomp is your main attacker, he gets more done then Lando but u can try tank helmet chomp and scarf Lando or gravity turn/gravity SD eadgequake Lando starmie with spin and Lando with gravity might synergize better and.. Try opting for better mega, Zard X might work.

If you're worried about the dark weakness, Colbur Berry is a great option on speedy Wobb as it allows it to trap and eliminate physical Dark-types consistently. Doesn't help it v.s. Orb Hoopa-U or Hydra, but it is a good start.
