GTS Cloning Trick

This is actually closer to cloning in Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, where you turned it off while saving to have the pokemon in both the PC and your party. However, since there was no back-up file, it was pretty much an "at your own risk" sort of thing, and commonly resulted in totally corrupted boxes with weird symbols all over the place, and your character switching genders.

Anyway I have no interest in ever experiencing something like that again... so yeah, while this is a very good find. I'm sure as hell not touching it.

In this case, "sorting it out" would mean not having a second save file, which would then just delete our game saves when they get accidentally shut off. I think Gamefreak prefers that not to happen, hence the possibility of cloning glitches via abusing your second save.

I would think the main use of this will be to harvest a few extra Stealth Rock TMs and other items that you can't clone on Emerald (you just need to make a new one every time you want to use one so you never run out). Yeah, it took a while just to clone one pokemon. I think it took about 30 minutes. Better than nothing, I guess.

Hmm, for me it took less than 5 minutes. What I did was see how many turns of the clock it took to deposit then shutoff a couple ticks of the clock before that and immediately withdrew afterwards...

I had to fool around a bit to get it to work, thats why it took 30 minutes.

I'm sure it will go by faster when one gets used to it.

1. put something with anything attached into the GTS, make your offer ridiculous (Lv9- dialga).
2. Count the number of turns of the clock you see in the bottom-right corner it takes for your game to say "***** will be put up for trade"
3. Take it back out. REMEMBER the exact turns and where it stopped.
4. Put it back in, and two movements before what it took last time for the pokemon to be transferred to GTS, shut it off.
5. Check the box where you chose the pokemon for trade. It should still be there, BUT there is also the clone which is 'still up for trade'
that clear?
 
Lol I remember accidentally doing the colo cloning glitch. i was trading with myself then the GBA randomly lost connection (at perfect timing) and it cloned my breloom which wasn't meant to.

Also can you put more than one pokemon up for trade? If so then couldn't you clone more than one pokemon at a time.
 
Tried this again with a Shiny Arceus. It still didn't work and now I'm getting scared it might destroy the game with repeated blue screens
 
Just incase you all don't know, this is 100% safe if you feared trying it. If you mess up, you still have the Pokémon. It'll either be in the box if you were too soon, or in the GTS if you were late.
 
I lost a random Golbat doing it though... Wasnt in the box and wasnt on the GTS. Other then that one, I've cloned my Grass Knot TM, Stone Edge TM and a Stealth Rock TM. <3
 
So will there be a pokemon on the GTS already, and one still in the box. Does the pokemon have to be in a box or can it be in your party?
 
Out of the four Pokemon I cloned, they were all in a box with plenty of empty slots. I assume you could use party Pokemon, but boxed seems easer to keep track of.
 
I cloned a Roselia doing this, but it only worked once, and Roselia sucks. And deceit are you sure that you didn't get the pokemon that you traded for in the GTS that replace the clone? If so then lol.
 
I was finally able to get this to work
I have cloned an Arceus and 6 Shiny Darkrais lol (and carries Power lens)
