[OVERVIEW]
Gyarados also has access to Supersonic Skystrike to complement its Water typing quite nicely, allowing it to lure in and break through typical Mega Gyarados checks like Mega Venusaur, slow Kommo-o, and Kartana. Flyinium Z Gyarados does have many flaws, however, including the inability to change its typing and the loss of Mold Breaker. This leaves it vulnerable to Pokemon like Dragonite, Golem, Mew, Aegislash, and Magnezone because it cannot change its typing. Flyinium Z Gyarados also overrelies on Bounce and Supersonic Skystrike, which means that once its Z-Move is spent, it has to use its unreliable two-turn Bounce, which can easily be taken advantage of, particularly by Protect and Substitute users like Serperior.

[SET]
name: Flyinium Z
move 1: Bounce
move 2: Taunt
move 3: Dragon Dance
move 4: Waterfall
item: Flyinium Z
ability: Intimidate
nature: Jolly
evs: 8 HP / 208 Atk / 84 SpD / 208 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
Bounce allows Gyarados to execute a powerful Supersonic Skystrike, which hits Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and slow Kommo-o for super effective damage and after a Dragon Dance hits hard enough to take out the likes of Mega Charizard X. Taunt is particularly useful against Pokemon like Jumpluff, Ferrothorn, and Substitute Primarina. Dragon Dance allows Gyarados to outspeed threats like Greninja and Mega Lopunny after a single boost. Waterfall lets Gyarados deal with Heatran and Donphan. Bulldoze is an interesting move option over Waterfall that allows Flyinium Z Gyarados to bypass faster Taunt users like Kee Berry Mew and stall Deoxys-S by slowing them down enough so that Gyarados can Taunt them first.

Set Details
========
208 Speed investment with a Jolly nature allows Gyarados to outspeed common threats like Smeargle, non-Hasty Kommo-o, and, after a Dragon Dance, Garchomp and Jumpluff. 8 HP EVs with 84 Special Defense EVs enable Gyarados to survive a Hidden Power Electric from Mega Charizard Y. The rest is invested into Attack to allow it to hit as hard as possible and help with rolls against bulky Mega Charizard X. Intimidate increases Gyarados's survivability against physical threats such as Choice Band Garchomp, Kartana, and Mega Lopunny. Flyinium Z turns Bounce into Supersonic Skystrike, not only boosting its power but also allowing Gyarados to use a Flying-type attack immediately.

Alternatively, the set can be varied to better take on bulky Mega Charizard X. 252 Atk / 84 Def / 172 Spe with an Adamant nature lets Gyarados OHKO Mega Charizard X with +1 Supersonic Skystrike while also tanking an Outrage after a Dragon Dance. However, this means it underspeeds Pokemon like Smeargle and Tapu Bulu, as well as Mega Lopunny even after a Dragon Dance. A spread of 120 HP / 120 Atk / 12 Def / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with a Jolly nature allows Gyarados to outspeed Smeargle and tank an Outrage from Mega Charizard X after a Dragon Dance as well as Hidden Power Electric from Mega Charizard Y. However, this set fails to KO bulky Mega Charizard X, which is the more common variant.

Usage Tips
========
Against offensive Mega Venusaur and slow Kommo-o, use Supersonic Skystrike to finish them immediately. However, against defensive Mega Venusaur, it is better to use Taunt before using Supersonic Skystrike. Against foes that outspeed Gyarados or that it cannot OHKO, such as Garchomp, Mega Lopunny, Mega Charizard Y, and Kartana, it is recommended that you use Dragon Dance first to outspeed them the following turn and fire back. Against Greninja, use Dragon Dance turn one in case they are running Torrent. Follow up with Supersonic Skystrike if they do not use Substitute; if they do, use Taunt, and use Waterfall to break their Substitute before unleashing Gyarados's Z-Move. You will want to use Taunt on foes that rely on status moves as their win condition, such as Type: Null, Jumpluff, bulky Mega Venusaur, and Ferrothorn. From here, if you cannot OHKO them, it is best to use Dragon Dance until you can reliably OHKO them. Against Primarina, it is best to test the waters to see if they are running Substitute. Use Dragon Dance first, and if they use Substitute, use Taunt to prevent them from using Substitute again. Then, use Bounce to break their Substitute, and finish them off with a Supersonic Skystrike. If they do not have Substitute, just set up Dragon Dance twice and then use Supersonic Skystrike. Despite Gyarados's ability to lure in and take out most Grass-types, Serperior in particular is a tricky matchup, as Gyarados overrelies on Bounce. As long as Serperior baits out the Z-Move and uses Protect on Supersonic Skystrike, it has the upper hand, particularly as Leaf Storm 2HKOes Gyarados. The best play for Gyarados is to use Dragon Dance first and Taunt Serperior after. If they have a Substitute up, use Waterfall to break the Substitute, then go for Supersonic Skystrike.

Team Options
========
Flyinium Z Gyarados appreciates teammates that lure in the likes of Mega Venusaur, Kommo-o, and Mega Charizard Y. Serperior is a great partner for this reason, as it is vulnerable to opposing Grass-, Dragon-, and Fire-types and appreciates Gyarados's coverage, in particular its ability to handle both Mega Charizard X and Y. On the other hand, Serperior deals with threats like most Sturdy Pokemon, Zeraora, Mew, and Magearna, in addition to Mega Gyarados. Magearna is another good partner that lures in Mega Venusaur while also dealing with Sturdy Pokemon that Gyarados has trouble taking on, such as Golem, Crustle, and Donphan. It also sufficiently deals with Dragonite and Porygon-Z. Gyarados beats Fire-types like Mega Charizard Y and Heatran in return. Bulky Ground-types like Zygarde and Landorus-T aid Gyarados by taking care of most Sturdy Pokemon, as well as providing an immunity to Electric-type moves, which Gyarados is 4x weak to, allowing them to beat Pokemon like Zeraora and Victini. They also beat pesky Steel-types like Magearna and Mega Mawile. Gyarados helps with Greninja and Jumpluff, Pokemon that Landorus-T and Zygarde struggle against. Taunt Air Balloon Heatran is very useful in taking out SubSeed users like Serperior that Gyarados has unreliable matchups against, as well as providing a decent check to Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan and Golem. In return, Gyarados covers Kommo-o, Garchomp, and Mega Lopunny.

[OVERVIEW]
  • While Mega Gyarados is one of the most predominant forefronts of 1v1, its lesser known half non-Mega form is also useful, capitalizing on its Mega Evolution's presence in the meta to take advantage of unsuspecting opponents.
  • Gyarados does not have access to many Flying-type moves despite being a Flying-type Pokemon, however it does thankfully have Bounce in its arsenal, which complements its Water-typing quite nicely, allowing it to pave the way through typical Mega Gyarados checks like Mega Venusaur, slow Kommo-o, and Kartana.
  • As with its Mega counterpart, Gyarados has access to viable utility moves in Dragon Dance and Taunt. not needed since it will be included in the mgyara analysis
  • Gyarados' typing is generally very solid, leaving it weak to only Electric- and Rock-types. would combine this with the next point to specify that now that it has to stay as a flying-type, it is affected by Rock-type Pokemon such as X, Y, and Z.
  • Gyarados does have many flaws however, including the fact that it is now unable to change its typing, as well as its loss of a great Mega ability in Mold Breaker. This leaves it vulnerable to Pokemon like Dragonite, Golem, Mew, Aegislash, and Magnezone.
  • Gyarados also over relies on Bounce and Supersonic Skystrike, which means that once its Z-Move is spent, it has to use its unreliable 2-turn Bounce, which can easily be taken advantage of, particularly by Protect users. like who?
Sooooo since this is going to be sharing a dex entry with Mega Gyarados, I'm going to need you to shorten this overview to 2-3 sentences max. Specifically, I would remove the stuff that are like, 'it also shares this with Mega Gyarados' (I've already slashed those), but overall you'll need to reword this to be smaller

[SET]

Moves
========
  • Bounce is the spotlight of this set, which allows Gyarados to execute a powerful Supersonic Skystrike, which after a Dragon Dance hits hard enough to take out the likes of Mega Charizard X. lol this isn't wrong but you're not running bounce to beat mcharx. Mention Pokemon that bounce allows mgyara to beat that Mgyara couldn't, like Mvenu and Kommo-o.
  • Taunt prevents foes from using any status moves, which is particularly useful against Pokemon like Jumpluff, Ferrothorn, and Substitute Mega Lopunny.
  • Dragon Dance boosts both Gyarados' Attack and Speed, allowing Gyarados to outspeed threats like Greninja and Mega Lopunny after a single boost.
  • Waterfall is another alternate STAB move that lets Gyarados deal with Heatran and Incineroar. Incin will just Fake Out into Z into Lariat to KO you, it is almost never 2hkoed by waterfall. -1 252 Atk Gyarados Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 108 Def Incineroar: 168-198 (42.6 - 50.2%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO and even without this bulk it would be unreliable

Set Details
========
  • Maximum Attack investment gives Gyarados enough strength to OHKO Mega Venusaur and most Kommo-o.
  • Maximum Speed investment and a Jolly nature allows Gyarados to outspeed common threats like Smeargle, non-Hasty Kommo-o, and after a Dragon Dance enables Gyarados to outspeed Pokemon like Garchomp and Jumpluff.
  • mention that 4 hp isn't used for anything
  • Intimidate drops the foes' Attack by one stage, increasing Gyarados' survivability against physical threats, such as Choice Band Garchomp, Kartana, and Mega Lopunny.
consider running
EVs: 8 HP / 164 Atk / 84 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature, which lets you tank a HP electric from Mega char y.
or potentially
EVs: 120 HP / 120 Atk / 12 Def / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
to beat ddance Char x after outrage and live char y hp electric (also helps with adamant lopunny)
we can talk more on discord.

Usage Tips
========
  • Generally, if you can OHKO the opponent with Waterfall or Supersonic Skystrike, use the appropriate move. This is the case against opponents like Mega Venusaur, Greninja shouldn't the play be to ddance in case of sub torrent?, and Kommo-o, where you need to finish them in one fell swoop, and not allow them to press the advantage.
  • Against opponents that outspeed Gyarados, or that Gyarados cannot OHKO, it is recommended that you Dragon Dance first, to outspeed them the following turn and fire back. Do this against Pokemon like Garchomp, Mega Lopunny, Mega Charizard Y, and Kartana.
  • You will want to use Taunt on opponents that rely on status moves as their win condition, such as Type: Null, Jumpluff, and Ferrothorn.
  • Against Primarina, it is best to test the waters to see if they are Substitute. Use Dragon Dance first, and if they Substitute, Taunt them to prevent them from Substituting again. Use Bounce to break their Substitute, then finish them off with a +1 Bounce. If they do not have Substitute, just Dragon Dance twice and then use Z-Bounce.
  • Despite being able to lure most Grass-types, Serperior in particular is a tricky matchup, as Gyarados over relies on Bounce, which is a 2-turn move. As long as Serperior baits out the Z-Move and uses Protect on Supersonic Skystrike, Serperior has the upper hand. Particularly as Leaf Storm 2HKOs Gyarados. what do you do to beat serp, then?

Team Options
========
  • Z-Bounce Gyarados appreciate teammates that lure in the likes of Mega Venusaur, Kommo-o, and Mega Charizard Y. Serperior is a great partner for this reason, as it is vulnerable to opposing Grass-, Dragon-, and Fire-types. On the other hand, Serperior deals with threats like most Sturdy Pokemon, Zeraora, Mew, and Magearna, in addition to Mega Gyarados.
  • Magearna is another good partner that lures in Mega Venusaur while also dealing with Sturdy Pokemon that Gyarados has trouble dealing with such as? It also sufficiently deals with Dragonite and Porygon-Z. Gyarados beats Fire-types like Mega Charizard Y and Heatran as well.
  • Bulky Ground-types like Zygarde and Landorus-T aid Gyarados by taking care of most Sturdy Pokemon, as well as having an immunity to Electric-type moves which Gyarados is 4x weak to, allowing them to beat Pokemon like Zeraora and Victini. They also beat pesky Steel-types like Magearna and Mega Mawile. Gyarados helps with Greninja and Jumpluff, Pokemon that Landorus-T and Zygarde struggle against.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============
  • The set can be varied to better take on Mega Charizard X. 252 Atk / 84 Def / 172 Spe lets Gyarados tank an Outrage after they Dragon Dance, so that you can safely retaliate with +1 Supersonic Skystrike.
  • An Adamant nature can be run over Jolly to have better rolls against Bold Kommo-o, however this means it underspeeds Mega Lopunny even after a Dragon dance, as well as Pokemon like Smeargle and Tapu Bulu at base Speed.
  • An infamous Choice Specs set can be run to take advantage of Gyarados' amazing special movepool, with options like Thunder, Fire Blast, Ice Beam, and Hydro Pump, nailing opponents who expect a physical Gyarados. such as? what does this beat?

Checks and Counters
===================

**Sturdy Pokemon**: As Gyarados no longer has access to Mold Breaker, Sturdy Pokemon are now prominent threats. Donphan, Aggron, Crustle, and Golem all typically carry Rock-type moves, which Gyarados will be defeated by, even through Intimidate. Magnezone no longer fears Mold Breaker Earthquake, so it easily takes out Gyarados. Even Sawk is something to be feared, as it can run Thunder Punch, or even hit back with Counter.

**Faster Nukes**: Zeraora, Archeops, Choice Scarf Victini, and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z all have the capabilities to outspeed and OHKO Gyarados.

**Bulky Offense**: Pokemon that can take out Gyarados before it can KO them are good Gyarados checks. This includes Dragonite, Tapu Fini, Mew, Will-O-Wisp Mega Charizard X or Y, Aegisliash, Mega Metagross, and Magearna.

I would mention mega slowbro and Mega Sableye, two Pokemon that Mega Gyara could famously shut down with Taunt + Crunch

  • The rest is invested into Attack to allow it to hit as hard as possibly, notably OHKOing Mega Altaria at +2 rof this is never going to happen, cotton guard is everywhere, and non-bulky Mega Charizard X at +1. if you want you can just say 208 maximizes attack and helps with rolls on bulky char x
  • Intimidate drops the foes' Attack by one stage, increasing Gyarados' survivability against physical threats, such as Choice Band Garchomp, Kartana, and Mega Lopunny.

  • Z-Bounce Gyarados appreciate teammates that lure in the likes of Mega Venusaur, Kommo-o, and Mega Charizard Y. Serperior is a great partner for this reason, as it is vulnerable to opposing Grass-, Dragon-, and Fire-types. this is very roundabout way of saying serperior appreciates gyara's coverage, i would make this more direct so ppl understand that thats what gyara does for serp On the other hand, Serperior deals with threats like most Sturdy Pokemon, Zeraora, Mew, and Magearna, in addition to Mega Gyarados.
  • Magearna is another good partner that lures in Mega Venusaur while also dealing with Sturdy Pokemon that Gyarados has trouble dealing with, such as Golem, Crustle, and Donphan. • The set can be varied to better take on bulky Mega Charizard X. 252 Atk / 84 Def / 172 Spe with an Adamant nature lets Gyarados OHKO with +1 Supersonic Skystrike, while also tanking an Outrage after a Dragon Dance.
  • A spread of 120 HP / 120 Atk / 12 Def / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with a Jolly nature outspeeds Smeargle, and allows Gyarados to tank an Outrage from offensive Mega Charizard X after a Dragon Dance as well as HP Electric from Mega Charizard Y. However, this set fails to KO bulky Mega Charizard X, which will be the more common variant in high level gameplay.
  • An Adamant nature can be run over Jolly to have better rolls against Bold Kommo-o, however this means it underspeeds Mega Lopunny even after a Dragon Dance, as well as Pokemon like Smeargle and Tapu Bulu. you can combine this with the first point, i think

**Stall Pokemon**: Pokemon that can boost their Defense and cannot be Taunted easily brush off Gyarados' attacks. These include Mega Slowbro and Mega Sableye, and faster Pokemon who can Taunt it first, such as Mew and Deoxys-S, can shut down anything Gyarados attempts. This would mostly be a non-issue for Mega Gyarados as it has Mold Breaker Taunt and STAB Crunch.

idk how to exactly handle these, since flyinium weaknesses are not shared by mega. I would make it more clear overall that these weaknesses apply only to regular gyarados, sicne this will be in the overall gyarados page in the dex

Overview
=====

- I think replacing Kartana with Primarina would be better, since IDef Kartana does beat Z-Bounce Gyarados.

Moves
=====

- I feel like Mega Altaria would be a better example in what Taunt beats, since Taunt into DDance into Z-Bounce beats Mega Altaria. Ferrothorn is a bad example, since Ferrothorn can always Z-Leech Seed to both ignore Taunt and to reset the Intimidate Attack stat drop.

- Might be just me,but I feel Substitute and Bulldoze are also worth mentioning, given than Taunt+Sub lets it beat Z-Charm users like Blissey and Umbreon and stuff like Z-Thunder Wave Togekiss, and Bulldoze+Taunt lets it beat Kew and Stall Deoxys-S.

Usage tips
======

- I think mentioning something which Waterfall beats in the first point might be useful. IDK, maybe something like Heatran or stg?
- Again, I think Kartana is a meh example. Maybe, Primarina?

Team Options
=====

- Probably just mention that Gyarados beats both Mega Charizards in return for Serperior.
- >pesky Steel-type Pokemon... More like, Steel-type Goliaths in the metagame.. Makes the sound less trivial than what "pesky" makes them sound owo

Checks and Counters
=====

**Bulky Offense**: Pokemon that can take out Gyarados before it can KO them are good Gyarados checks. This includes Dragonite, Tapu Fini, Mew, Will-O-Wisp Mega Charizard X or Y, Aegisliash (BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooo), Mega Metagross, and Magearna.

appreciate the concern over kartana, while ID is indeed a threat, the majority of kartana run band, and as such i still think it warrants a mention.

Z-Leech Seed might be a good set but I've yet to see its existence so-

========
  • Bounce is the spotlight of this set, which allows Gyarados to execute a powerful Supersonic Skystrike, which hits Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and slow Kommo-o for super effectively damage, and also which after a Dragon Dance, hits hard enough to take out the likes of Mega Charizard X.
  • Taunt prevents foes from using any status moves, which is particularly useful against Pokemon like Jumpluff, Ferrothorn, and Substitute Primarina. Usually used in collaboration with Dragon Dance, like in all of the matchups listed.
  • Dragon Dance boosts both Gyarados' Attack and Speed, allowing Gyarados to outspeed threats like Greninja and Mega Lopunny after a single boost.
  • Waterfall is another an alternate STAB move that lets Gyarados deal with Heatran. Maybe I got something wrong but the only other STAB is bounce

Set Details
========
  • 208 Speed investment with a Jolly nature allows Gyarados to outspeed common threats like Smeargle, non-Hasty Kommo-o, and after a Dragon Dance enables Gyarados to outspeed Pokemon like Garchomp and Jumpluff.
  • 8 HP with 84 SpDef EVs allow Gyarados to survive a Hidden Power Electric from Mega Charizard Y.
  • The rest is invested into Attack to allow it to hit as hard as possible and helps with rolls against bulky Mega Charizard X.
  • Intimidate drops the foes' Attack by one stage, increasing Gyarados' survivability against physical threats, such as Choice Band Garchomp, Kartana, and Mega Lopunny.
  • Flyinium Z does x y z

Usage Tips
========
  • Generally, if you can OHKO the opponent with Waterfall or Supersonic Skystrike, use the appropriate move. This is the case against opponents like Mega Venusaur, and slow Kommo-o, Switch one of the underlined around for consistency and add "slow" to Kommo-o where you need to finish them in one fell swoop, and not allow them to press the advantage.
  • Against opponents that outspeed Gyarados, or that Gyarados cannot OHKO, which Gyarados can take a hit from, it is recommended that you Dragon Dance first, to outspeed them the following turn and fire back. Do this against Pokemon like Garchomp, Mega Lopunny, Mega Charizard Y, and Kartana.
  • Against Greninja, Dragon Dance turn one in case they are Torrent. Follow up with a Z-Move Supersonic Skystrike no need to not specify if they do not use Substitute, and Taunt them if they do use Substitute. In the latter case, use Waterfall to break their Substitute before unleashing your Z-Move.
  • You will want to use Taunt on opponents that rely on status moves as their win condition, such as Type: Null, Jumpluff, and Ferrothorn. From here, if you cannot OHKO them, it is best to Dragon Dance first, until you can reliably OHKO them. This is also the case for Mega Altaria and bulky Mega Venusaur. Combine the sentence about Malt and Mvenu with the example list of null pluff and ferro, if there's a need to put them in a separate category, specify it more clearly.
  • Against Primarina, it is best to test the waters to see if they are Substitute. Use Dragon Dance first, and if they Substitute, Taunt them to prevent them from Substituting again. Use Bounce to break their Substitute, then finish them off with a +1 Bounce Supersonic Skystrike.
The best play for Gyarados is to first Dragon Dance, then Taunt them. If they have a Substitute, use Waterfall to break the Substitute, then go for Supersonic Skystrike.

Team Options
========
  • Z-Bounce Gyarados appreciates teammates that lure in the likes of Mega Venusaur, Kommo-o, and Mega Charizard Y.
  • Serperior is a great partner for this reason, as it is vulnerable to opposing Grass-, Dragon-, and Fire-types and appreciates Gyarados' coverage, in particular, its ability to handle both Mega Charizard X and Y. On the other hand, Serperior deals with threats like most Sturdy Pokemon, Zeraora, Mew, and Magearna, in addition to Mega Gyarados.
  • Magearna is another good partner that lures in Mega Venusaur while also dealing with Sturdy Pokemon that Gyarados has trouble dealing with, such as Golem, Crustle, and Donphan. It also sufficiently deals with Dragonite and Porygon-Z. Gyarados beats Fire-types like Mega Charizard Y and Heatran as well for Magearna.
  • Pokemon that beat Leech Seed + Protect users that Gyara struggles with (since you've been stressing this)

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============
  • The set can be varied to better take on bulky Mega Charizard X. 252 Atk / 84 Def / 172 Spe with an Adamant nature lets Gyarados OHKO with +1 Supersonic Skystrike, while also tanking an Outrage after a Dragon Dance. However this means it underspeeds Mega Lopunny even after a Dragon Dance, as well as Pokemon like Smeargle and Tapu Bulu at its base speed.
  • A spread of 120 HP / 120 Atk / 12 Def / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with a Jolly nature outspeeds Smeargle, and allows Gyarados to tank an Outrage from Mega Charizard X after a Dragon Dance as well as HP Electric from Mega Charizard Y. However, this set fails to KO bulky Mega Charizard X, which is the more common variant of it.
  • Bulldoze is an interesting move option over Waterfall that allows Gyarados to bypass faster Taunt users like Kee Berry Mew and stall Deoxys-S, by using Bulldoze to slow them down enough so that Gyarados can Taunt them first.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Nukes**: Zeraora, Choice Scarf Archeops, Choice Scarf Victini, and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z all have the capabilities to outspeed and OHKO Gyarados. Though sub-used since you included CS Victini I thought it would be worth a shot

**Bulky Offense**: Pokemon that can take out Gyarados before it can KO them are good Gyarados checks. This includes Dragonite, Tapu Fini, Mewnium Z Mew, Will-O-Wisp Mega Charizard X or Y, Aegislash, Mega Metagross, and Magearna. Usage for both Mew sets are almost the same so I'd specify both

Hey pqs just in case you wanted to have another read over, i added some more stuff.
Also just to note:
which Gyarados can take a hit from,
I feel like this should be redundant because you're not sending gyarados in on pokemon that it dies to anyway. similar to the don't mention super effective OHKO matchups idea.
Choice Scarf Archeops
Didn't implement this but I removed all the other mentions of Choice Scarf because they all outspeed Gyara anyway.

[OVERVIEW]
Gyarados also has access to Z-Bounce to complement its Water-typing quite nicely, allowing it to lure in and pave the way through typical Mega Gyarados checks like Mega Venusaur, slow Kommo-o, and Kartana. Z-Bounce Gyarados does have many flaws however, including the fact that it is now unable to change its typing, as well as its loss of a great Mega ability in Mold Breaker. This leaves it vulnerable to Pokemon like Dragonite, Golem, Mew, Aegislash, and Magnezone, particularly because it cannot change its typing, and must remain Flying-type. Z-Bounce Gyarados also over relies on Bounce and Supersonic Skystrike, which means that once its Z-Move is spent, it has to use its unreliable 2-turn Bounce, which can easily be taken advantage of, particularly by Protect and Substitute users like Serperior.

Moves
========
Bounce is the spotlight of this set, which allows Gyarados to execute a powerful Supersonic Skystrike, which hits Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and slow Kommo-o for super effective damage, and also which after a Dragon Dance, hits hard enough to take out the likes of Mega Charizard X. Taunt prevents foes from using any status moves, which is particularly useful against Pokemon like Jumpluff, Ferrothorn, and Substitute Primarina. Dragon Dance boosts both Gyarados' Attack and Speed, allowing Gyarados to outspeed threats like Greninja and Mega Lopunny after a single boost. Waterfall is an alternate STAB move that lets Gyarados deal with Heatran and Donphan.

Set Details
========
208 Speed investment with a Jolly nature allows Gyarados to outspeed common threats like Smeargle, non-Hasty Kommo-o, and after a Dragon Dance enables Gyarados to outspeed Pokemon like Garchomp and Jumpluff. 8 HP with 84 SpD EVs allow Gyarados to survive a Hidden Power Electric from Mega Charizard Y. The rest is invested into Attack to allow it to hit as hard as possible and helps with rolls against bulky Mega Charizard X. Intimidate drops the foes' Attack by one stage, increasing Gyarados' survivability against physical threats, such as Choice Band Garchomp, Kartana, and Mega Lopunny. Flyinium Z turns Bounce into Flyinium Z, not only boosting its power, but also allowing it to use a Flying-type attack immediately.

Usage Tips
========
Against offensive Mega Venusaur and slow Kommo-o, use Supersonic Skystrike to finish them in one fell swoop. However, against defensive Mega Venusaur, it is better to use Taunt before using Supersonic Skystrike. Against opponents that outspeed Gyarados, or that Gyarados cannot OHKO, it is recommended that you Dragon Dance first, to outspeed them the following turn and fire back. Do this against Pokemon like Garchomp, Mega Lopunny, Mega Charizard Y, and Kartana. Against Greninja, Dragon Dance turn one in case they are Torrent. Follow up with Supersonic Skystrike if they do not use Substitute, and Taunt them if they do use Substitute. In the latter case, use Waterfall to break their Substitute before unleashing your Z-Move. You will want to use Taunt on opponents that rely on status moves as their win condition, such as Type: Null, Jumpluff, bulky Mega Venusaur, and Ferrothorn. From here, if you cannot OHKO them, it is best to Dragon Dance first, until you can reliably OHKO them. Against Primarina, it is best to test the waters to see if they are Substitute. Use Dragon Dance first, and if they Substitute, Taunt them to prevent them from Substituting again. Use Bounce to break their Substitute, then finish them off with a Supersonic Skystrike. If they do not have Substitute, just Dragon Dance twice and then use Z-Bounce. Despite being able to lure most Grass-types, Serperior in particular is a tricky matchup, as Gyarados over relies on Bounce, which is a 2-turn move. As long as Serperior baits out the Z-Move and uses Protect on Supersonic Skystrike, Serperior has the upper hand. Particularly as Leaf Storm 2HKOs Gyarados. In return, Gyarados covers Kommo-o, Garchomp and Mega Lopunny.

implemented this

so this analysis isn't supposed to have a checks/counters or OO section, as Checks/Counters takes into account all sets. I was able to move the alternative evs to set details and move mention bulldoze. is this good for 3/3?

Set Details

208 Speed investment with a Jolly nature allows Gyarados to outspeed common threats like Smeargle, non-Hasty Kommo-o, and, (AC) after a Dragon Dance, (AC) enables Gyarados to outspeed Pokemon like Garchomp and Jumpluff. 8 HP with 84 Special Defense EVs allow enable (repetition) Gyarados to survive a Hidden Power Electric from Mega Charizard Y. The rest is invested into Attack to allow it to hit as hard as possible and helps help with rolls against bulky Mega Charizard X. Intimidate drops the foes' Attack by one stage, increasing increases Gyarados's survivability against physical threats, such as Choice Band Garchomp, Kartana, and Mega Lopunny. Flyinium Z turns Bounce into Flyinium Z Supersonic Skystrike, not only boosting its power (RC) but also allowing it Gyarados to use a Flying-type attack immediately.

Alternatively, the set can be varied to better take on bulky Mega Charizard X. 252 Atk / 84 Def / 172 Spe with an Adamant nature lets Gyarados OHKO Mega Charizard X with +1 Supersonic Skystrike (RC) while also tanking an Outrage after a Dragon Dance. However, (AC) this means it underspeeds Pokemon like Smeargle and Tapu Bulu, as well as Mega Lopunny even after a Dragon Dance. A spread of 120 HP / 120 Atk / 12 Def / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with a Jolly nature outspeeds allows Gyarados to outspeed Smeargle (RC) and allows Gyarados to tank an Outrage from Mega Charizard X after a Dragon Dance as well as Hidden Power Electric from Mega Charizard Y. In the latter case, and use Waterfall to break their Substitute before unleashing your Gyarados's Z-Move. You will want to use Taunt on opponents foes that rely on status moves as their win condition, such as Type: Null, Jumpluff, bulky Mega Venusaur, and Ferrothorn. From here, if you cannot OHKO them, it is best to use Dragon Dance first, until you can reliably OHKO them. Against Primarina, it is best to test the waters to see if they are running Substitute. Use Dragon Dance first, and if they use Substitute, use Taunt them to prevent them from Substituting using Substitute again. Then, use Bounce to break their Substitute, then and finish them off with a Supersonic Skystrike. If they do not have Substitute, just set up Dragon Dance twice and then use Z-Bounce Supersonic Skystrike. Despite being able Gyarados's ability to lure and take out most Grass-types, Serperior in particular is a tricky matchup, as Gyarados over relies overrelies on Bounce, which is a 2-turn move. As long as Serperior baits out the Z-Move and uses Protect on Supersonic Skystrike, Serperior has the upper hand, (comma) particularly as Leaf Storm 2HKOs 2HKOes Gyarados. The best play for Gyarados is to first use Dragon Dance first (RC) then and Taunt them Serperior after. If they have a Substitute up, use Waterfall to break the Substitute, then go for Supersonic Skystrike.

[OVERVIEW]
Gyarados also has access to Z-Bounce Supersonic Skystrike to complement its Water typing (RH) quite nicely, allowing it to lure in and pave the way through typical Mega Gyarados checks like Mega Venusaur, slow Kommo-o, and Kartana. Z-Bounce Flyinium Z Gyarados does have many flaws, (AC) however, including the fact that it is now unable inability to change its typing, as well as its and the loss of a great Mega ability in Mold Breaker. This leaves it vulnerable to Pokemon like Dragonite, Golem, Mew, Aegislash, and Magnezone, particularly because it cannot change its typing (RC) and must remain Flying type. (RH) Z-Bounce Flyinium Z Gyarados also over relies overrelies on Bounce and Supersonic Skystrike, which means that once its Z-Move is spent, it has to use its unreliable two-turn Bounce, which can easily be taken advantage of, particularly by Protect and Substitute users like Serperior.

Moves
========
Bounce is the spotlight of this set, which allows Gyarados to execute a powerful Supersonic Skystrike, which hits Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and slow Kommo-o for super effective damage (RC) and also which after a Dragon Dance (RC) hits hard enough to take out the likes of Mega Charizard X. Taunt prevents foes from using any status moves, which is particularly useful against Pokemon (or "status move users") like Jumpluff, Ferrothorn, and Substitute Primarina. Dragon Dance boosts both Gyarados's Attack and Speed, allowing Gyarados to outspeed threats like Greninja and Mega Lopunny after a single boost. Waterfall is an alternate STAB move that lets Gyarados deal with Heatran and Donphan. Bulldoze is an interesting move option over Waterfall that allows Flyinium Z Gyarados to bypass faster Taunt users like Kee Berry Mew and stall Deoxys-S (RC) by using Bulldoze to slowing them down enough so that Gyarados can Taunt them first.

Set Details
========

However, this set fails to KO bulky Mega Charizard X, which is the more common variant.

Usage Tips
========
Against offensive Mega Venusaur and slow Kommo-o, use Supersonic Skystrike to finish them in one fell swoop immediately. However, against defensive Mega Venusaur, it is better to use Taunt before using Supersonic Skystrike. Against opponents foes that outspeed Gyarados (RC) or that Gyarados cannot OHKO, such as Garchomp, Mega Lopunny, Mega Charizard Y, and Kartana, it is recommended that you Dragon Dance first, to outspeed them the following turn and fire back. Do this against Pokemon like Garchomp, Mega Lopunny, Mega Charizard Y, and Kartana. Against Greninja, use Dragon Dance turn one in case they are running Torrent. Follow up with Supersonic Skystrike if they do not use Substitute; (SC) and if they do, use Taunt them if they do use Substitute.

Team Options
========
Z-Bounce Flyinium Z Gyarados appreciates teammates that lure in the likes of Mega Venusaur, Kommo-o, and Mega Charizard Y. Serperior is a great partner for this reason, as it is vulnerable to opposing Grass-, Dragon-, and Fire-types and appreciates Gyarados's coverage, in particular (RC) its ability to handle both Mega Charizard X and Y. On the other hand, Serperior deals with threats like most Sturdy Pokemon, Zeraora, Mew, and Magearna, in addition to Mega Gyarados. Magearna is another good partner that lures in Mega Venusaur while also dealing with Sturdy Pokemon that Gyarados has trouble dealing with taking on, (repetition) such as Golem, Crustle, and Donphan. It also sufficiently deals with Dragonite and Porygon-Z. Gyarados beats Fire-types like Mega Charizard Y and Heatran as well for Magearna. Bulky Ground-types like Zygarde and Landorus-T aid Gyarados by taking care of most Sturdy Pokemon (RC) as well as having providing an immunity to Electric-type moves, (AC) which Gyarados is 4x weak to, allowing them to beat Pokemon like Zeraora and Victini. In return, Gyarados covers Kommo-o, Garchomp, (AC) and Mega Lopunny.
