Hacked Pokemon Question

I'd guess the game still stores that info, just not visible to the player. There's a lot of hidden values in these games, so I wouldn't put it past them.

I think the most common "legit" hack would be max IVs.All you gotta do is check for that. Generally speaking, if you see a poke with max IVs across the board, it's hacked.
What a coincidence because that would be the most common hack when I think of hacking a pokemon game but I alway wondered does that get pass the shark test despite the obivous fact that they know the friggin odds of getting 31 IVs across the boards is slim?

Also, what about Pal Parked pokes? They're not from the original game and they don't sure level met, where met, etc? Can they check for those?
I alway wondered about that but I think they can.

The game deletes the data (as level met, where met), and replaces them with "Pal Park". So you can only check by the level the pokemon arrived at.

Personally, I don't see the big deal in hacking a legit pokemon. Max IVs are game-legit and are accessible to everyone. Hacking them because you're lazy or because it's easy does not make the Pokemon illegitimate.

I guess that kinda works, although if the hacker is smart, they'll just bust out the infinite rare candy stick and beat the pokes until they get to the desired level (make the bird trio 50+, Mewtwo 70+, etc).

You're assuming the game delete the data but how can you be sure about it, it's not like you're a programmer of something.

Because the game sets all pal parked pokemon's locations to (Pal Park), and the locations of the previous games aren't programmed in the game?

I don't know...I certainly haven't read through the game code, but I would bet that the locations from other games are still there, the pal park thing is most likely a flag that gets set to "TRUE" when a pokemon is transferred via those means.

Speaking of cloning, you can clone stuff via WiFi trade (I accidentally cloned a Giratina when trading with SePh. His connection accidentally went off. SePh lost his Latias, and he and I have the exact Giratina). This seems to be the only possible way to clone the movie darkrai, unless the relieve the Ribbon ban on the GTS (you can't put up a pokemon with a classic ribbon for trade)

I cloned a shiny Zangoose this same way, a connection error popped up.

Sucks though, because a Shiny Gligar was lost.

gee, this would mean that I can just trade the stuff I like to keep to another brand new game I bought and go to Nintendo events.

feh, what can you say? I can just say I trade it over to breeze through the E4.

As much as it saddens me, when imported from Pal Park all original catch data is lost forever. I've looked into the Pokemon data and there is no data for any of the old Hoenn/Kanto town. Dissapointing but definitely true.

Also, while max IVs are legit, I don't believe hacking them is. People spend time IV breeding to get good eggs, how is it fair that you can in a fraction of the time get a perfect egg.

There is an ingame metagame and having perfect IVs breaks it. When EVing pokes with non-perfect IVs you'll be assuming that 101HP subs aren't going to be as common and that pokemon are not going to have 70 power Hidden Powers.

Haha, yeah, I remember that, kinda sucked since I already had infinite copies of the Zangoose :X

and while hacking may be "game-legit," it's simply laziness because if it is game-legit, that means you can get it in the game with enough hard work :X

The probability on that happening - max IVs across the board - even with breeding is like winning the lottery. If I caught a legend that had max IVs, notably a Lati@s, I would most likely die of shock on the spot.

The only real hacking I did was to get Kanto and Johto pokes several months before FR/LG were released. And to get GC exclusives without owning a GC. Then I did AR a Deoxys....and my friend traded me an obviously illegit Spiritomb, Arceus, and Darkrai. Other then that, I've been a (relatively) good boy.
