Hail Stallish Team

Trait: Snow Warning
EVs: 255 Spd / 255 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Protect
- Leech Seed
- Blizzard

The more or less obvious lead for any hail-oriented team. A subseed variant, as that happens to be the one I find most useful. It can counter a couple leads, including Aerodactyl, (given that it doesn't go for stone edge straight away) Starmie, or Hippowdon, and probably a few more. It is important against sandstorm teams that he is kept alive until hippowdon or ttar is KO'd, but he can also sometimes set up a leech seed against opponents in some situations and use that to heal his teamates.

Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP / 28 Atk / 192 Def / 36 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Spikes
- Drill Peck

Skarmory is here to entirely wall most physical attackers, such as machamp, who is always troubling, then hit him back with drill peck. Also, when given the chance, skarm sets up my spikes for me, and can whirlwind for entry damage, scouting out teams, and stopping opposition set up.

Sir Walrus (Walrein) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Ice Body
EVs: 220 HP / 252 Def / 36 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Protect
- Substitute
- Toxic
- Surf
Ah yes, Sir Walrus the Walrein, although his nickname may be changed to Donut. Anyway, onto his actual purpose. Ice Body and leftovers work great in hail with this guy, and protect and substitute together can do wonders for stalling out other pokemon when they are poisoned, or even just letting the hail do the work taking other pokemon out, so long as they don't have leftovers themself. Toxic is in case I don't get t-spikes up or on levitating or flying pokemon such as gyarados, and surf is there for STAB damage.

Rotom-F @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 255 Spd / 255 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Blizzard
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Trick

My scarfer for taking out tough pokemon quickly, like gyarados or other water types with t-bolt. He also does well abusing 100% blizzard accuracy, which not only hits hard but gets great coverage. Lastly, shadow ball gets STAB and takes out ghost types as well.

Tentacruel (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 224 HP / 32 Def / 252 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Surf
- Knock Off/hidden power electric?

Tentacruel is not only my special wall, but he can be Sir Walrus's best friend if he manages to get up toxic spikes. Toxic spikes support really helps me stall, especially, as I mentioned, Sir Walrus. However, he also can counter pokemon like infernape, and often heatran quite well with his STAB surf. Rapid Spin takes away those dangerous hazards, and knock off can take away items from opponent, or I may use hp electric for gyara who wants to set up on him. (Which many seem to do when I played this team on Pokemon Online).

Gliscor (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Roost
- Stone Edge

Gliscor can take out tyranitar for me, as he is a definite threat. He also sets up stealth rocks, and can be useful for taking out other pokemon jirachi and metagross with earthquake and flying types with stealth rock. He also stalls well with roost.

I said stallish, because it certainly isn't all stall, and I'm not sure what quite defines stall, but I do like to use hail and rocks and spikes to my advantage. I might get toxic spikes too, but I'm not sure how I could get it into my team, and if I did, I think it'd be unwise not to have walrein in there.

What I've found to be a big problem is ghost types such as gengar and rotom formes because my rotom can never switch in safely. If someone can help me with this problem, or spot any other problems, that would be great too, thanks.

is your first pokemon abomasnow??? i assume so but yah know

edit***

never use 255, it gives no bonus. If your looking to max a stat always use 252 EV's.

Ummm, why do you have hail when only two of your pokemon are Ice types, and no one is using blizzard? Hail completely nullifies the leftovers for your walls, so it's kind of redundant.

I like hail, and I should probably put walrein in there because he is very good...

By the way, does anyone know how I add pictures to this, I'd like to to make it better, but I've not a clue.

There's a picture add icon. Anyway this is a team I love to play against because a lot of your pokes have common weaks and are predictable. But the issue I have with it is that you keep changing it. its changed a couple of times in the past hour which leads me to believe that you haven't tested it and aren't testing it as you make the edits. Finish your team and test it on shoddy before you post.

Hello. This is actually quite a good hail team (not all that common) but your presentation and explanation could be better. You have quite a weakness to Fire type moves so it may be worth squashing a Heatran in somewhere (for instance in place of Skarmory) although the lost member would certainly be sorely missed. Alternatively, you could try Swampert over Gliscor to give you the much-needed fire resistance.

First of all, I would recommend changing Abomasnow's spread to 252hp 4SpA 252spe, Calm. Abomasnow is too slow to make use of a fast subseeding strategy; it is much better to make use of Abomasnows decent special defense and resistance to Water, Grass and Electric type moves to set up on a variety of special attackers, such as bulky waters. Also, its item should be leftovers (you left it out.) Note that Abomasnow is also a fairly poor lead, dying easily to the common Fire and Steel type attacks; the only leads it really beats are Swampert and Aerodactyl, and even they get SR up. For this reason I would suggest moving Gliscor to the lead position. I would suggest Taunt over Stone Edge to prevent SR from opposing leads and perhaps shut down stall. Stone Edge is very weak and of little significance. With this, I would also suggest Sand Veil, as Tyranitar is a huge problem for Hail teams and Sand Veil lets it take advantage of the sandstorm that Tyranitar brings. Swampert also works OK in the lead position if you decide to make the change I suggested above.

I would recommend taking the attack EVs off Skarm, as they are better in defense. You could also consider Taunt over Drill Peck, which is great against opposing stall teams, and helps you to deal with the opponents last pokemon. A specially defensive spread is also very effective and should be considered.

On Walrein, the 36 EVs should go into SpD if they are not there already. You should also use Roar over Toxic, as your team could have some problems against setup sweepers like Suicune. It also lets you rack up spikes damage and poison the whole of the opponents team.

Rotom should invest in HP before special defense due to its miserable base HP stat. You might also want a little special attack investment; I would suggest running calcs with threats your team needs to deal with. It should also run a Timid nature to outrun a +1 Jolly dragonite and OHKO with Blizzard, and to outrun +1 Jolly Gyarados and OHKO with Thunderbolt.

Tentacruel should run max HP before investing in defenses. A spread of 252hp 32def 224spdef would give better overall defenses. A Calm nature also gives you better stats as you are boosting a higher stat with the nature. Add points until you hit the same Defense, and then add to Special defense and you will notice that it is higher. HP Electric and Blizzard are the moves to be considered in the last slot. Gyarados could give your team some trouble with a Taunt set, given that Rotom can be Pursuit-trapped, so this helps you KO it. Blizzard is powerful and is good against Grass-types who resist Surf.

Good luck.
