Haters Gonna Hate

Tom Paris takes the cake for me

images

I don't even know where to begin, this guy is the biggest protagonist dick in Star Trek. He is literally an escaped convict that they just allow on the ship because what the hey, they are in the Deta quadrant! Its not like his personality improves at all in the show, any episode based on his shows him still has a huge dick that pretty much acts only for his interests. He spends his time pulling pranks on crew members, drinking excessively, making chauvinist remarks. Worse yet, everyone loves him for it and they act like he changes, but he hasn't, he is still the same convict, and he is a huge hit with the babes, they act like he is sensitive and charming.

But I could forgive all that, all of it, if he didn't spend his time on the holodeck, a place where you can do literally anything in your imagination: fixing muscle cars that don't exist.

Oh man, I loved Paris' character. He wasn't the carbon-copy officer, he contrasts the rest of the crew well and made me really care for his character.

Still, no mentioning Voyager without mentioning Seven of Nine

Absolutely despicable... ARRGGHHH I want to tear out my eyes, but not not as much as his face...
BAKA! Excalibur is the shizz.

How this show lasted 5 seasons is beyond belief, because it's just terrible, but lets just focus on the character Micheal Kyle. I absolutely DESPISE him. The stuff he does to his wife and kids is just freaking idiotic. For example, to teach his kids a "lesson" after one of the eats his piece of pie that he's been saving, he makes them eat pie for every meal until the culprit comes forward. GREAT PARENTING! Speaking of great parenting, his treatment of his son, Micheal Jr., is just awful. He calls him stupid, big headed, etc. which is true, but he is his father and a father shouldn't call their children stupid or make fun of them. Was the writers just jerking off or did they think crappy big head jokes and bad ethics were funny? Probably both.

tl;dr-I think the character is annoying, isn't funny, isn't a great father, has bad ethics, and I find him to be stupider than the son that he constantly calls stupid.

This guy is just annoying. I hated the way he sang stuff, and in the Michael Jackson episode he just really made me mad by trying to get rocks in Kurt's eyes, but he missed and it went into Blaine's eyes cuz Blaine pushed Kurt out of the way. And then this douche is like "I'm a douche blah blah" Go away douche.

250px-Roryjacket.png

THIS GUY was the bane of my existence in season3.cHis voice just irked the fuck out of me. It was like nails scratching a chalk board. I just couldn't take it for too long. I was so happy when he left.

270px-Hookdeep.jpg

This guy made my second favorite character of the series, after Regina of course, lose her mind. Belle. Belle was perfection! And then this guy goes and pushes her out of the town and thus makes her lose all memory of everything. Belle was perfection! Perfection.

270px-Ashleyy.jpg

So, this bitch has been in the series since the first episode, and throughout it all I had no idea wtf she was even doing in the series. She was just an obnoxious person the entire time. And then she decides to betray one of her close friends, Emily Thorne, and we find out that Emily saved her from being a victim of prostitution, more likely to be human trafficking, and she acted the way she did towards her anyway. She is just a bitch.

Agree with Joffrey and Skylar, they can both go and die. I used to hate Cersei but then I read the books and gained a lot more respect for her, but I agree she is still a bitch. As for a new one...

walking-dead-lori.jpg

Just useless. Honestly one of the most irritating and needless characters I've seen, and the fact she is Carl's mother just makes it worse, although I have started to like Carl more towards the most recent episodes.

dawn+buffy+the+vampire+slayer.jpg

oi fucking dawn, in buffy season 5 which was her introduction all she did was bitch and whine. in season 6 when she has no relevance to the plot she bitches and whines and steals for no reason. fuck her

shes not even funny

Was literally about to make this post. The most annoying, whiny, selfish character ever. She grew up slightly in series 7 fortunately but she still acted like she was 12 sometimes.

I went to a Hatebreed concert the other night..
I loved it.
40% of people there are assholes
Moshpits are awesome.
Senseless violence is bliss.

man, i love the responses so far. i have laughed so much, mainly at how most of the posts are written or how they are started. i mean, just the below post made me laugh for a good 30 seconds for some reason
I'll just get my least favorite Sonic character off my chest.

Jet_Hawk.jpg

God dammit, I HATE this asshole, Chris and Elise be damned. Ok, so Jet's whole deal is that he's supposed to be the Sonic of the air, and he constantly rubs his ego in Sonic's face about this. Only problem is, he has no wings. The whole aerial-Sonic shtick comes from the fact that he rides a hoverboard to move at high speeds, which is essentially the equivalent of me going up to Usain Bolt and saying "You're the fastest runner in the world? LOL!!!! I can totally beat you in a race! Lemme just get my car first, then I'll show everyone that you're a complete hack!". That's fucking stupid. It also doesn't help that he has no redeeming traits, spends most of his screen time either being a whiny bitch or an unbearable dickhead, and has TWO ear-raping voices. Oh, and you gotta love how Sega's writers handled his backstory. "His ancestors are genies!" *next game comes out* "We lied last time, his ancestors are actually aliens".
haha. i mean, i am not a hateful person, but most of the posts(including mine) are just blind hate and a spew of incoherent anger suger coated with curse words. i love it.
venting is very fun AND fun to read

This has got to be the most surprising for me so far. I have only fond memories of the show "my wife and kids" and i liked Micheal kyle, but after reading your reasons for hating him i can definitely see why and totally think its valid.

ah man, my brothers and i used to sit in the living room and watch this show. great bonding and great memories. i loved the show

hello i am back to spew hate part 2

juliet+sharp.jpg

THIS BITCH right here my hate for her is like 50% jealousy of the fact that her character was with qt pie nate and the other 50% was the fact that she was after serena the angel i'm so angry just thinking about it of all the psychotic enemy people on gossip girl THIS GIRL WAS TOP NOTCH EVIL like she tried to ruin serena's life multiple times and gave way to ridiculous plot twists and was definitely a contributing factor to why i stopped watching because once she showed up shit just went crazy with plot twists and backstories of god knows what

Ben_GG.jpg

RELATED TO JULIET SHARP and dated serena and he was her teacher and she almost got with dan but instead she went with this guy and he was part of the ridiculous plot twist and he really wasnt a nice guy and i don't even remember why i hate him i just do

200px-Chuck_Bass_Season_3.jpg

ed westwick is really hot and british but if you're playing a character who's gimmick is literally "man whore with lots of money" i'm not sure how i'm supposed to like you...also he kind of raped jenny humphrey and him and blair are the worst couple to ever exist ever sorry not sorry

Pink_Scarf.jpg

i can't believe i forgot this guy he's literally useless he has a nice voice but his character does nothing go home already all he did was creep on quinn when she was crippled (and really UGH why)

Rumpelstiltskin-once-upon-a-time.jpg

morally ambiguous character who fucks over everyone sorry nop

okay guy who ranted against my wife and kids do you have even a vague understanding of the word "sitcom" because i don't believe so

myself? I don't have many really hated characters. I guess if i had to pick...

Amy_Farrah_Fowler
Amy_farrah_fowler.jpg

you took a once-great show and singlehandedly turned it into shit

edit: if you are going to post about how you never liked bbt stuff it because i know everyone loves to gang up on bbt

If you enjoyed it, than that's cool. I actually do like the two little kids on the show, especially when boy makes Micheal look an idiot.

Okay guy I'm quoting: A sitcom or situational comedy follows a group of people that's base around a house, at work, a bar, school, etc. in which the characters tell jokes. I was also going to say something about how you think The Big Bang Theory was "once-great", but since you said we can't.....

edit: if you are going to post about how you never liked bbt stuff it because i know everyone loves to gang up on bbt

Everyone likes to gang up on Big Bang Theory, that must be why it's in its sixth season and why Jim Parsons is handed out Emmys like candy for his autism blackface pwnemon you phillistine.

the big bang theory is funny but just know that its humour derives from laughing at nerds, or caricatures of them

observe what happens when you replace "nerds" with "black people"

nah, try all tyler perry sitcoms. dave chapapapelle wrote his own show about humorous stereotypes he saw in his own culture, turned them on their head, made them sardonic reflections of themselves. bbt writers aren't nerds, they're on the outside looking in.

This fucking BI
GOhICyj.jpg
TCH!

Didn't even watch the show, but god those commercials made me loathe her.

That's actually a fantastic show, and she is an amazing character. The only reason she's a "bitch" is because she doesn't let men push her around and gets shit done.

The Dave Chappelle show.

actually, most of that show was making fun of white people, so

I've been thinking for a while about how to even respond to this thread. Do I talk about characters that are designed to be hated, and are effective at it (e.g. Joffrey, Umbridge)? Do I talk about villains who are just so well-written you can't help but hate them, even if you don't... "hate" them (e.g. Kefka)? Or do I talk about characters that are just really annoying unintentionally (e.g. Laurie)? DM mentioning Kefka is why I'm bringing this up now, really. I'm still not sure who else to bring up yet, but I guess I have something to say about Umbridge. I think that she was really good for what she was supposed to do in the fifth book, but she felt really tacked on in the seventh book. I feel that her appearance in the seventh book really watered down her character and made her "about" being hated, rather than being more of a caricature of the increasing corruption of the Ministry of Magic that had little to do with the Death Eaters until after the sixth book, which was the whole reason she was so good to hate in the first place. This kind of applies to a large number of "hatable" characters in fiction, though, including some mentioned here.

wow i did not appreciate how pretty the actress that plays dawn was as a kid :)

ALSO i reject hate vehemently but i have very little time foooooooooooooooooooor

fuuuuuuck oh my god

janice is fucking abhorrent. i think shes fantastic in that shes the most perfectly realized character on the show imo (shes just such a real person, i think everyone knows someone just like her in real life, and yet somehow she succeeds at being more than just a mess of cliches). i also get that she was designed to bring out the worst in tony, which she succeeds at expertly.

but yeah, absolutely terrible person, would watch the series again just to rage at.

@Big Bang Theory--

^This. WTF pwn? I am on the edge of my seat waiting for today's episode (first in two weeks) to come out.

Also, Amy is hilarious and awesome. Best character since Sheldon. F-U

This thread could not have possibly taken a better turn.

Kimmy Gibbler from Full House.
kimmy.jpg

There isn't a single redeeming quality about Kimmy Gibbler. Here is why I hate her.

  • She's a terrible friend to DJ.
  • She's a bad influence on DJ.
  • She makes really bad puns.
  • She has an awful fashion sense (I mean I know the 80s were whacky but COME ON Kimmy learn how to do your make up without looking like a clown)

i think you are over thinking it a bit here. I've liked some "villains" that some of my friends/family absolutely despised. Tell you what, i'll make it really simple for you.

Forget all the reasons or justifications to why you should hate a character. Clear your mind and just focus on a character that has somehow managed to bring out immense negative emotions/feelings of hate from you. BOOM, you are done. From there you can figure out reasons why its that specific character for you. if you dig just a bit deeper you can find reasons just unique to that character. i mean, Villain x might be my most hated character and yeah he/she was designed to not be liked, but there are other villains in that same show, some even worse. so why is it that its this one person that just ruins the entire show/game/comic/etc for you. why do things just cross the line with this specific person/thing? lol ok now its gotten a bit complicated again.

just going from this thread you can see that there are characters that users have brought up as characters they hate, and yet other users have risen in shock or disbelieve(a bit of an exaggeration) because they feel differently about those characters. Dont get too hung up on "why should i hate this character? he/she was designed to be hated in the first place" or vice versa.

also a few posts have been about good guy type characters. no one is safe from hate. we will always pick sides in things we take interest in. AZ is perhaps the best example of blind hate towards something that isnt even real. i mean, just look at the guy. heart full of hate i tells ya.
