move 2: Brave Bird
move 3: Close Combat
move 4: Substitute / Roost
item: White Herb
ability: Unburden
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Hawlucha can sweep and clean up teams thanks to its ability to efficiently set up. It can easily activate Unburden via Close Combat and White Herb, allowing it to outspeed a good majority of the metagame, and Swords Dance bolsters it as a threat; additionally, Ditto cannot switch into Hawlucha to countersweep because it cannot copy the Speed boost from Unburden. Close Combat can OHKO and heavily dent defensive Pokemon like Ferrothorn and Corviknight after a boost and dissuades Pokemon such as Galarian Darmanitan, Rotom-W, and Rotom-H from trying to revenge kill Hawlucha. Brave Bird is a powerful move to use alongside Close Combat, striking Pokemon that are resistant or immune to Close Combat, such as Hatterene and Dragapult. Substitute gives Hawlucha a lot more safety on the field, giving it an easier time setting up, helping it avoid status, and providing it more leeway when it needs to attack a foe more than once to KO it. Roost gives Hawlucha a way to recover HP, which can be useful against Pokemon that cannot revenge kill it after it nets a KO. Fire Punch is an option if you would rather want Hawlucha to have more coverage, giving it a reliable way of hitting Aegislash; however, the move is only really useful in doing this specific task.

Hawlucha excels at cleaning up late-game, easily sweeping after the Pokemon that can give it trouble are gone or weakened. As such, Hawlucha thrives on hyper offense teams, capitalizing on the damage its teammates have already done. A suicide lead such as Excadrill works best on hyper offense teams with Hawlucha, granting it Stealth Rock support. Grimmsnarl would also be a great addition to provide dual screens support, easing Hawlucha's setup greatly. Teammates such as Gyarados, Togekiss, and Kommo-o that can also set up to sweep work great, as Hawlucha can potentially clean up after they've heavily damaged the opponent's team. Kommo-o in particular has great synergy with Hawlucha, as it can weaken or KO Pokemon like Aegislash, Toxapex, and various Fairy-types with its expansive movepool to give Hawlucha an easier time cleaning up. Fairy- and Psychic-types such as Clefable, Grimmsnarl, and Hatterene make setting up and sweeping challenging for Hawlucha, so Aegislash is a great teammate that can help cover for that. Hawlucha can also be used earlier as a potential Dynamax user, as its ability to boost its Attack and Speed with Max Knuckle and Max Airstream can easily get out of hand for the opponent.

Hey Estronic the QC team has decided that we'd rather see this as the main set:

[SET]
name: Swords Dance
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Brave Bird
move 3: Close Combat
move 4: Dig
item: White Herb
ability: Unburden
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant
This set is a lot less dependent on having Dynamax available, and with Dig, it can deal with Aegislash and Toxapex pretty well.

Although it's a good potential candidate for Dynamax, Hawlucha can sweep and clean up teams without it thanks to the support it can provide to itself. This sentence centers too much around Dynamax and doesn't really do Hawlucha much justice as a result. It can easily activate Unburden via Close Combat and White Herb, allowing it to outspeed a good majority of the metagame afterwards, and Swords Dance bolsters it as a threat; additionally, Ditto cannot switch into Hawlucha to countersweep because it cannot copy the Speed boost from Unburden. Close Combat can OHKO or heavily dent defensive Pokemon like Ferrothorn and Corviknight after a boost and can easily threaten Pokemon such as Galarian Darmanitan, Rotom-W, and Rotom-H from trying to revenge kill it, especially after the Unburden boost. Brave Bird is a powerful move to use alongside Close Combat, able to strike Pokemon that are resistant or immune to Close Combat, such as Hatterene, Dragapult, and Galarian Corsola. It does absolutely nothing to Galarian Corsola. Dig is a good coverage move that can keep Aegislash and Toxapex in check, and it's also great at stalling out the turn's that the foe's Dynamax is active. Specifically mention that Dig is useful while Dynamaxed. When Hawlucha is not Dynamaxed, it's flat-out awful and should never be used. Hawlucha excels at cleaning up late-game, able to easily sweep after the Pokemon that can give it trouble are either gone or weakened. Why is this mentioned here? It's optimal to Dynamax another Pokemon rather than Hawlucha because Hawlucha is already threatening thanks to being very self-reliant. I don't think that this does a very good job at capturing what Hawlucha's about. Yes, it's already threatening by itself, but telling people that it's suboptimal to Dynamax Hawlucha is simply not true. However, a set utilizing Electric Seed and Thunder Punch over Dig can be used to take advantage of Dynamax by setting up Electric Terrain yourself while also striking most Water- and Flying-types, though it has a lot of trouble doing its job if you Dynamaxed another Pokemon prior to sending out Hawlucha.

Since Hawlucha is best when used late-game to clean up weakened teams, hazard setters such as Ferrothorn, Seismitoad, and Galarian Corsola can chip down the opponent's team to loosen the effort Hawlucha has to put in to sweep. All of these Pokemon can also status the foe with Thunder Wave, Toxic, and Will-O-Wisp, respectively, giving more support to Hawlucha in different ways. Since Hawlucha can function really well without Dynamax, Pokemon like Hatterene and Dragapult can Dynamax to punch holes through teams to assist Hawlucha in sweeping them. Additionally, Pokemon with immediate high damage output such as Dracovish and Galarian Darmanitan can do the same without the need of Dynamaxing. Finally, a way of removing Stealth Rock can be useful to prevent Hawlucha from taking too much damage from it and spamming Brave Bird if it needs to; Mandibuzz is great at filling this role as a Defogger with utility in Knock Off as a bonus. I crossed this all out because it should entirely focus on hyper offense teams and how Hawlucha thrives on them.

Brave Bird is a powerful move to use alongside Close Combat, able to strike Pokemon that are resistant or immune to Close Combat, such as Hatterene and Dragapult. Dig gives Hawlucha access to Max Quake when Dynamaxed, allowing it to keep overwhelm Aegislash and Toxapex in check. Considering Hawlucha as a whole, keeping Aegislash and Toxapex in check doesn't really make sense. However, although yes it can be used to stall out the turn's that the foe's Dynamax is active, it should generally not be used outside of Dynamax at all due to how easy it is to circumvent its usefulness. A set utilizing Electric Seed and Thunder Punch over Dig can be used to take advantage of Dynamax by setting up Electric Terrain yourself while also striking most Water- and Flying-types, though it has a lot of trouble doing its job if you Dynamaxed another Pokemon prior to sending out Hawlucha.

Hawlucha excels at cleaning up late-game, able to easily sweep after the Pokemon that can give it trouble are either gone or weakened. As such, Hawlucha thrives on hyper offense teams, capitalizing on the damage its teammates have already done. A suicide lead such as Copperajah or Excadrill works best on hyper offense team with Hawlucha, granting it Stealth Rock support while also possibly doing more chip damage than that. Copperajah does not do viable suicide lead things. Grimmsnarl would also be a great addition to provide dual screens support, potentially easing Hawlucha's setup. Screens don't "potentially" ease setting up. Essentially increasing a Pokemon's Defense and Special Defense will always ease what they're trying to do to some extent. Since Hawlucha works best on hyper offense, teammates that can also set up to sweep work great, as Hawlucha can potentially clean up those Pokemon's damage they've done on the opponent; Gyarados, Togekiss, and Dragapult Kommo-o are some good examples of this, as they can potential severely weaken team through Dynamax and permit Hawlucha to clean up late-game. Kommo-o and Hawlucha in particular have good synergy so perhaps you could point that out. Likewise, Hawlucha can also be used earlier as a potential Dynamax user, as its ability to boost its Attack and Speed with Max Knuckle and Max Airstream respectively can easily get out of hand for the opponent. Aegislash is almost mandatory alongside Hawlucha to pressure Fairy- and Psychic-types, so I'd like to see a mention of it here.

Hawlucha can sweep and clean up teams efficiently thanks to the support it can provide to itself Holding White Herb doesn't really count as support, remove this part. It can also be used to stall out the turn's that the foe's Dynamax is active; however, it generally should not be used outside of Dynamax at all otherwise due to how easy it is to circumvent its usefulness Replace this portion with an explanation of substitute and roost, also mention fire punch as a way of hitting aegislash without putting it as a slash on the main set, since it's really only for one mon. Remove this part, TPunch is way too situation to merit a main set mention like this.

Hawlucha can also be used earlier as a potential Dynamax user, as its ability to boost its Attack and Speed with Max Knuckle and Max Airstream respectively can easily get out of hand for the opponent.
