Heart Swap allows Magearna to steal boosts from Mega Alakazam, Tapu Lele, opposing Magearna, and, most importantly, Aurumoth. Pain Split is necessary for Magearna to keep itself healthy enough throughout the match to check the aforementioned Pokemon. Pain Split is also particularly useful to punish Pokemon without access to reliable recovery such as Heatran and Ferrothorn for switching in, which often seek to take advantage of Magearna. Flash Cannon hits foes like Mega Alakazam, Magearna, and Aurumoth particularly hard after Magearna steals their boosts. It's preferred over Fleur Cannon for its ability to hit Mega Mawile and opposing Magearna, though the Special Attack drop from Fleur Cannon does synergize nicely with Heart Swap. Volt Switch rounds out the set by preventing Magearna from being a momentum sink after it threatens the foe out.

Set Details
========

248 HP EVs in tandem with 28 Defense EVs allow Magearna to survive an Earthquake from Landorus-T from full HP. 22 Speed IVs alongside a Sassy nature allow Magearna to underspeed Sassy Celesteela, essentially allowing it to absorb Celesteela's Leech Seed and switch out with Volt Switch. A Wiki Berry can be run instead of Leftovers for Magearna to be more efficient in the short term; (RH) however, Magearna is significantly worse off in the long term (RH) due to the lack of consistent passive healing.

Usage Tips
========

Magearna should aim to create momentum with Volt Switch by forcing out Pokemon such as Tapu Lele, Mega Alakazam, and Aurumoth, which it'll often force out. However, these Pokemon are often paired with Pokemon like Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Smokomodo, so be wary of mindlessly using Volt Switch. Magearna should mainly use Pain Split to stay healthy to consistently check the Pokemon it wants to. (spacing) Pain Split is optimally used when Magearna is at low health, and it should be used on forced switches instead of Volt Switch because it can wear down the foe quite easily. If none of the Pokemon that Magearna wants to check are present, it can be played a lot more recklessly by switching into Pokemon like Tornadus-T to risk Knock Off to ultimately create momentum with Volt Switch.

Team Options
========

Magearna fits best on bulky offensive and balanced teams for its ability to check threatening Pokemon like Mega Alakazam, Tapu Lele, and Aurumoth. For similar reasons, it can even be used on some stall teams. Because Magearna tends to draw in Heatran, Pokemon that can easily take advantage of it like Greninja, Garchomp, and Mega Tyranitar are notable teammates. These Pokemon also benefit from Magearna's ability to consistently check Psychic- and Fairy-types in return. Additionally, Ground-types like Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Excadrill will often look to take advantage of Magearna, so Pokemon such as Tornadus-T and Tangrowth are notable teammates to deal with these Pokemon. In addition to checking Heatran as well as Ground-types, Arghonaut also sets Spikes and massively appreciates Magearna's ability to check Psychic- and Fairy-types. Because of this, it's arguably the best partner for Magearna. Thanks to its access to Volt Switch, strong wallbreakers such as Tapu Lele, Kartana, and Mega Medicham can take advantage of the fact that Magearna tends to draw in passive Pokemon rather easily.

(Could mention that Fleur Cannon hits Garchomp)
* Volt Switch rounds out the set by preventing Magearna from being a momentum sink after it threatens the foe out.

* 248 HP EVs in tandem with 28 Defense EVs allow Magearna to survive an Earthquake from Landorus-T from full HP.
* The rest of the EVs are put into Special Defense to check Psychic- and Fairy-types like Mega Alakazam, Aurumoth, Tapu Lele, and Magearna more comfortably.
* 22 Speed IVs alongside a Sassy nature allow Magearna to underspeed Sassy Celesteela, essentially allowing it to absorb Celesteela's Leech Seed and switch out with Volt Switch.
(Maybe an Iapapa Berry mention? If this is added, explain that it weakens Magearna's matchup against these mons in longer games which is undesirable, although the burst recovery can help in some short term scenarios)
Usage Tips

* However, these Pokemon are often paired with Pokemon like Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Garchomp, so be wary of mindlessly using Volt Switch. (You have two chomps here, smoko should fit here)

(Add a point somewhere in this paragraph for other mons that Magearna can come in on, in the event that it's not needed to check one of the main 4)
Team Options

(What types of teams does this set fit best on?)
* Because Magearna tends to draw in Heatran, Pokemon that can punish it like Mega Alakazam, Arghonaut, Garchomp, and Mega Tyranitar are notable teammates because they can take advantage of this very easily. These Pokemon also benefit from Magearna's ability to consistently check Psychic- and Fairy-types in return. (I would personally remove one of Mzam/Mtar for Greninja, probably Zam since it fits on simular builds)
* Additionally, Ground-types like Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Excadrill will often look to take advantage of Magearna, too, so Pokemon such as Arghonaut, Tornadus-T, and Tangrowth are notable teammates to deal with these Pokemon.
* Thanks to its access to Volt Switch, strong wallbreakers such as Tapu Lele, Kartana, and Mega Medicham can take advantage from the fact that Magearna tends to draw in passive Pokemon rather easily.

Feel free to dispute a lot of this. QC 1/3

Pain Split is necessary for Magearna to keep itself healthy enough throughout the match to check the aforementioned Pokemon. Pain Split is also particularly useful to punish Pokemon such as Heatran and Ferrothorn, which often seek to take advantage of Magearna (I feel like this sentence needs some context.. like I can understand Pain Split punishing these Pokemon if Magearna gets low, but other than that I'm a bit lost. I can even see Pain Split maybe helping the Ferrothorn 1v1, but the Heatran point is really not making sense to me. This could just be a me problem). sometimes I feel you're a bit verbose in areas; you could just say "wallbreakers take advantage of Magearna drawing in passive Pokemon". this isn't necessarily a problem per se, but it does make an analysis shorter and easier to read fwiw. gp 1/2 once done tho
