I'm not sure if my wife will be making a forum account (if she does, it'll be RKadePlayer) so I'll say hi for both of us.

Hi! :P

I'm a 30 (in a month) year old cripple from birth and she's the woman who married me. We have some free time and decided to tan the ass of our younger friend who dared challenge us to the pokeymans. We've got HG and we're getting the other gen4 games soon. Our plan is to get all five-hundred billion pokeymans, level them up, and try some battling with people because Pokemon is a deep strategy game, dammit!

We met on WoW and I had her out here in under a month. In a month, we went from not knowing each other to married. That was four years ago and we STILL haven't had a single argument. If I weren't so exhausted, I'd tell you all the kind of stress we have to endure on a daily basis to really drive home the awesomeness of this woman.

The majority of people here use online simulators to battle because it's much easier and faster to whip teams together by just clicking whatever Pokemon with whatever moves you want into existance, instead of breeding and blahblahblah. I think they're all using Pokemon Showdown now.

I had to look that up because I hate simulators. If you're not going to play on a simulator (like me and all of the Pokemon Video Game Championship players), you might want to invest in a 3DS, or two, and pick up the new Pokemon X and Y versions that come out soon. They'll be 3DS exclusives though. But believe me, the way all the footage is looking, it'll be worth the investment. X and Y are looking great!

Unfortunately, Matt, we're on a very fixed income. We saved up for 6 months to get the 2 DSi XLs and HG (SS is in the mail.) Getting more systems is out of the question... Also gen 5 and 6 pokemon look stupid to us (except for that fairy evee. My wife loves that.)

Most people don't breed and raise their own pokeymans anymore? Where's your sense of pride guys? Any idiot can run a sim but it takes hard work to raise a pokeyman team. I mean the wife and I are going to spend a ton of time filling out our pokeymans calender so we've got as many as we can get (since we can't get the event ones obviously.)

We're both perfectionists and she loves my beard too... and no, she doesn't have one on her face. ;)

Also, I can't see in 3d :( Only got one eye and it ain't all that great. Thank god for the XL. Coincidentally, my first system was an Atari 800xl.
 
sure you can get the event ones. you could still trade for them over the gts, yeah?

as for the 3d in the 3ds, you can turn that off, dude. no problem.
 
Nope. The eyes were due to RoP. A nurse didn't watch my oxygen so my retinas detached... well almost on the right eye. I'm just a descendant of Duncans.
 
I know what you mean about income. Yeah, for a lot of people, it's not about raising pokemon and growing attached to them anymore. It's all about coming up with crazy new team ideas and trying them as quickly as possible, often moving onto a completely new team right after that. While it may not seem "right", it has lead to some amazing and fun new team ideas, like F.E.A.R. Aron (using a Level 1 Aron to take down much stronger pokemon). For those of us who have played through the pokemon games over and over and over again throughout the years, breeding countless pokemon, beating the Elite 4 gob knows how many times, these simulators are the only reason we can stomach playing anymore because we can get whatever we want immediately.

Some people here do play the handheld games in their DS's though, the old fashioned way. They're in the wifi forum.
 
One note about battling from the same ISP to battle your wife, make sure you log in and register your accounts are different times, otherwise it will automatically change it the accounts on the other computer. I do this to battle my little sister.
