Houndoom @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flash Fire
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Tera Blast

Houndoom fetches their souls in PU! Good Speed, typing, and Nasty Plot make it a threatening attacker that wallbreaks with ease. Tera Fairy flips the matchup against Fighting-types like Falinks, notably limiting Choice Scarf Raboot's revenge killing potential, and Tera Blast nukes a would-be check in Zweilous and flattens opposing Houndoom after a Nasty Plot. Houndoom's biggest issue is its Speed, which leaves it chased out by common threats like Pyroar, Dugtrio, and Basculin; as such, sturdy defensive answers to these, such as Carkol and Gogoat, are recommended. Houndoom can also struggle to break past certain Terastallized threats, like Tera Rock Gogoat and Tera Fairy Grumpig, as well as walls like Camerupt when they're healthy. To fix this, entry hazard support from the likes of Tinkatuff and Cacturne is useful to soften them up. Slow U-turn users, like Vespiquen and Perrserker, are recommended to pivot Houndoom in safely against targets like Misdreavus and Tinkatuff, which can annoy it with Pain Split and Knock Off respectively.

Houndoom fetches their souls in PU! Good Speed, typing, and Nasty Plot make it a threatening attacker that can punch through walls with ease. Tera Fairy flips the matchup against Fighting-types (like?), notably limiting Choice Scarf Raboot's revenge killing potential, and Tera Blast nukes a would-be check in Zweilous and flattens opposing Houndoom after a Nasty Plot. Houndoom's biggest issue is its Speed, which leaves it chased out by common threats like Pyroar, Dugtrio, and Choice Scarf users like Magneton; as such, sturdy defensive answers to these, such as Gogoat and Camerupt (Camerupt isn't the sturdiest Pyroar answer around and you have some more space, mention another mon that can switch into Pyroar specifically and put it before Gogoat), are recommended. Houndoom can also struggle to break past certain Terastallized threats, like Tera Rock Gogoat and Tera Fairy Grumpig, and bulkier targets like Camerupt aren't at major risk from high HP. To fix this, entry hazard support from the likes of Tinkatuff and Cacturne is useful to soften them up. (mention some slow U-turn users like Vesiquen and Perrserker that bring Houndoom in on stuff like Tinkatuff and Misdreavus)
