How about not resetting the SQSR thread in wifi?

Why not just lock it and un-sticky it, like the one in stark?

1. You lose everything that was posted there, so you cannot refer back to it if you need to.

2. not that i care about my post count, but it seems illogical to have a post count, and then delete thousands of posts at a time, making your post counts innacurate, especially for the users that reply there alot(I myself lost about 300 this last reset) although its just a post count, it still matters in some ways.

I seccond this... I saw that in stark, and tought why it wasn't made in wifi.
And I lost about 400 posts in last one...

I really doubt there is any thing that you need to refer to in the sqsr thread in wifi and who cares about post count.

How about you guys not rely on the SQSR for posts and make posts that actually have a point in forums like stark and RMT? While you're at it you can stop spamming up trade threads with good lucks.

There are a lot of Pokemon giveaways in WiFi which have rules like "must have 400+ posts to be eligible". This is a pretty good reason people don't want their postcounts reset, especially if those people have been helpful in answering questions in SQSA.

(Although I do second the "no good luck posts" suggestion.)

The Stark SQSA threads are not deleted because there are answers to questions in there that could be referenced for future people if they look back through them.

I have yet to think of an advantage to not deleting the SQSR thread beyond post count (which isn't a reason at all).

I see no reason at all for it to be cleared, in fact undeleting the posts that have been deleted already makes some sense. PC means very little especially in wifi, but removing posts without good reason should be avoided.

edit: There is very little reason to keep them (people may want to check their own posting history, the "4) Simple Questions you might have about WiFi that do not necessarily belong in Stark" are essentially the same as stark SQSA questions, and what omegadonut said), but there is no reason at all to delete them.

PC means very little especially in wifi

Just re-emphasizing that postcount actually DOES matter in WiFi, maybe more than anywhere else. People use it to judge if you've been an active\helpful member and not some schmuck who's going to take your giveaway Pokemon and run off, instead of helping to distribute it like they asked.

@RBG, the wifi SQSR has answers that may be needed later also, so your saying stark is more important?
Maybe not resetting the thread doesnt matter to anyone outside wifi, but thats just it, it matters to the wifi users, that should be reason enough if nothing else, and as omegadonut said, pc matters in wifi to an extent more than anywhere else, i.e. for giveaways, and to show you actually contribute.

I see no reason to delete them... they aren't illegitimate topics, why not just lock and unsticky?

I think what RBG is saying is that there isn't as much info as Stark because it is also a requests thread. Like requesting cloning or EVing. And there is no reason to go back and look at those. =/

and yes Post count does matter in wifi. I'm not going to repeat everyone there. Overall though I do think that the should be kept there, as I have posted a few things myself in those threads that I wanted to go back and look at, but couldn't. Even if we lost the post count anyway, imo it would be cool just to have old topics available.

really hegna
a. all my SQSR posts have been deleted already, the posts i have now are from outside that thread, i also dont spam threads asking for things to be done for me, so you pulled that one out of your ass, speaking for myself, i answer more questions than i ask, and rarely participate in giveaways, and i said idc about pc, i mereley gave an example
b. i suggested this not to reserve my pc, but to point out that wifis thread is just as important as starks.

I more meant solely Pastel by spam TBH (Don't know why I added other people).
I do realize I'm not amazing assistance to people(I don't really care to be), but I don't think him constantly asking others to do BPs is exactly helpful (that's all I saw from him last I checked, correct me if I'm wrong).

And I apologize then if you're not asking for your post count alone, Pokerama, it just seemed that way when I read the thread, and honestly the PC shouldn't be that big of a deal.

EDIT: I actually haven't checked the thread much lately, so I apologize if I'm seeing things the way they were a month ago. However I am sure that pastel was definitely spamming for BPs, I apologize for generalizing anyone else into that for some reason.

i can see where you would get the idea (pastel only mentioning his posts xD) i personally dont care about my pc, but there are legitimate reasons for for the SQSR thread to not be reset, thats all i wanted to get across to anyone reading this, even if to no one other than wifi users.

Isn't that why it is a request thread?
Also, I seldom ask for things, and when I do, I keep posting them on every page until I get bored, get what I find, or don't need/want it anymore.

Yeah, it would be a lot easier just to turn Wi-Fi post counts completely off. :D

This is a topic that bugs me so I'll bite.

The Stark SQSA threads are not deleted because there are answers to questions in there that could be referenced for future people if they look back through them.

Who does this? And by extension, is it really utilized to the degree to make this a worthwhile excuse? Simple Q&A doesn't even manage to prevent individual threads with simple questions from popping up, why would anybody sift through thousands of posts to find one answer when they can post it again and get individualized attention without consequence? I won't post in Simple Q&A anymore for the simple fact that I don't want a rapidly inflated post count (I remember looking forward to dropping 300-400 posts every month or so because it inflated so quickly sometimes). "It's meaningless etc etc." Everybody puts some value to it even if it's a subconscious one.

Basically, I'm calling bullshit on "the argument for Simple Q&A doesn't apply to SQSR." I'm not supporting the OP in case anybody didn't catch that.

Most people care about there posts no won looks forward to dropping 200-400 posts every month.
We all actually care about having high post counts people lose hundreds of posts due to this.
So i say we better reset the SQSR thread.

pastel and dragonboy, please stop bringing up your post count as an argument, i merely posted that as an example, my main point was that the thread should be locked and unstickied like starks and other forums, it just doesnt seem right that wifis SQ thread get reset, and all others dont(as far as i know) your straying away from the point and confirming, that you do only care about your post count.

I agree with this.
PC shouldn't be the reason you want to keep the thread.
The thread could be kept for the slight possibility of needing to reference something, but PC shouldn't matter that much.

I'm pretty sure that's most of the reason anyone wants to keep it, but that's not "cool" to admit here. Do you really need to look back and see who IV Checked with you or whatever bullshit you guys do these days? And if you do, you really can't just make a text file log yourself?

I agree with this, not because I care about my post count, but because in and amongst all the IV check and Ev train requests there are some questions that are being answered, and when the previous thread(the one that is now deleted) started I know at least one person who had to re-ask because they could not see the answer that was given, and that seems a bit pointless.
