XY LC Hyper Offense - Adorable Annihilation

XY LC - Adorable Annihilation

OK, this is my first RMT I've ever posted on here, so please feel free to tell me if the team is lacking in any department.

I literally made this team in 7 minutes and was just hoping for a fun Tower of God (it's a manhwa) inspired Pokemon team, but it turned out better than I had expected it to.

Rak (Tyrunt) (M) @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Trait: Strong Jaw
EVs: 140 Atk / 156 SDef / 212 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Poison Fang
- Rock Slide
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake

This little guy is what I tried to base the team off of.
Monstrous Stats + Dragon Dance + Nice Coverage + Maximum Cuteness
Tyrunt's got it all. It's got great bulk and works as a good late game sweeper.

Androssi (Misdreavus) (F) @ Berry Juice
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 36 Def / 236 SAtk / 236 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam

(Not sure if Misdreavus is banned from LC on Smogon, but on the battle sim I use, Misdreavus is still legal in XY LC.
If I switch to PS, then I'll change it if Misdreavus is illegal )
With Misdreavus, I was tempted to go for a wall variant, but instead went for a Sub+NastyPlot set. I actually rarely get to use Nasty Plot, but it helps (a lot) when I do pull it off. Berry Juice > Eviolite bc Sub replenish.
Misdreavus covers Ground/Fighting weakness from Tyrunt.

Hatsu (Pawniard) (M) @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 156 HP / 156 Atk / 36 Def / 44 SDef / 116 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head

Wrecking machine. This guy's my primary lead with SR. If there's a spinner/defogger I'll keep him safe until the threat is neutralized, else I'll just bash things with Pawniard until he gets KO'd. Also Defiant on Intimidate Growlith/Sticky Web feels so good. Forms standard core with Misdreavus. Covers Ice/Dragon for Tyrunt.

Anak (Axew) (F) @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 220 Atk / 68 Def / 220 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Dig
- Substitute

Shh, before you say anything about dig, all I can say is that hitting a switched in Levitator feels amazing. Also Axew has no moves besides Poison Jab, Night Slash, and Superpower (no stat drops pls). I ran SD over DD because it really gives it more potential to crush walls.

Koon (Azurill) (M) @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Trait: Huge Power
EVs: 36 HP / 36 Atk / 196 Def / 200 SDef / 40 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Return
- Knock Off
- Waterfall
- Iron Tail

I don't know how I feel about Azurill. Huge Power gives it a big ATK buff. It has some solid defences. Nice STAB Return and Knock Off. Unfortunately it has a very limited movepool and couldn't think of anything better than to give it Waterfall and Iron Tail. I really hate how slow it is, though. (9 Spd) It would be infinitely better if it had a priority attack.

Baam (Zorua) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
Trait: Illusion
EVs: 36 Def / 200 SAtk / 240 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dark Pulse
- Foul Play
- Extrasensory
- Hidden Power [Fighting]

This guy is a real playmaker. I'll usually set Tyrunt in the back for Zorua's illusions, but if the opponent has Pawniard, I'll lead with Zorua illusioned as my own Pawniard and then proceed to smash with HP [Fighting]. Best saved for a late game cleanup.
If played correctly, he can really turn the tables either late or early in a game.

So that's my XY LC team. Please rate and suggest changes. Thanks.

Hi Rak
Firstly, it looks as if you're a bit unaccustomed to competitive LC, so welcome! I think the LC Viability rankings and threat list might be helpful in getting you started.
Misdreavus was banned from LC on Smogon just a few days ago, and I think Pokemon Online is suspecting it as well, so you could probably do well to change it.

I'm questioning Tyrunt's effectiveness as a sweeper, and feel as if a Shell Smash user would be the better choice; I don't think Tyrunt's minor advantages are enough to warrant its significantly lower sweeping potential. If you would like to maintain a fairly bulky Pokemon, I think Solid Rock Tirtouga would be a good choice.
Tirtouga @ Eviolite / Berry Juice
Ability: Solid Rock
Level: 5
EVs: 4 HP / 212 Atk / 12 Def / 76 SpD / 180 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Shell Smash
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge / Rock Slide
- Aqua Jet / Earthquake
Boosted Tyrunt often fails to do significant damage even at +1 due to the amount of Eviolite holders in LC; on the other hand, Shell Smash instantly boosts both Tirtouga's Atk and Spe by two stages, allowing to pose as a significant offensive threat after only one turn of set up. This comes at the cost of lowering your defenses, but it's usually worth it if you can find a safe opportunity to set up. Waterfall is Tirtouga's reliable STAB move, and has excellent neutral coverage with Tirtouga's STAB Rock-type attacks; Stone Edge hits for a ton of damage, but if accuracy is a concern, Rock Slide is a viable choice as well. Aqua Jet is useful for picking off weakened Priority users, but Earthquake is able to hit Chinchou and Croagunk for heavy damage, as well as OHKOing Eviolite Pawniard.

I don't think Pawniard's EV spread is optimal. The standard fare is to be as fast as possible to speed tie with other Pawniard and outspeed key threats, including but not limited to Dwebble, defensive Mienfoo, and Magnemite. As such, a spread of 156 Atk / 36 Def / 116 SpD / 196 Spe with a Jolly nature would be preferable; this spread also allows Pawniard to hit Eviolite numbers (since Eviolite boosts round down, an even defense/special defense is usually preferred if Eviolite is held).

Azurill is almost entirely outclassed by Bunnelby; Knock Off simply isn't enough to differentiate itself from a Pokemon that is significantly faster, something that is very important for such a frail Pokemon, in addition to being more powerful and having access to Earthquake and U-Turn.
Bunnelby @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Huge Power
Level: 5
EVs: 228 Atk / 52 Def / 220 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Return
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Wild Charge / Quick Attack
Return is Bunnelby's incredibly powerful STAB move, while Earthquake provides decent coverage alongside it. U-Turn is useful for maintaining Momentum, and Wild Charge hits Archen and Gastly. Quick Attack is also an option, and while it may seem redundant on a Choice Scarf set, it is still powerful enough to pick off weakened threats that may outspeed Bunnelby.

Axew isn't awful, but it's certainly not top tier, and your team doesn't quite provide it with the support it needs to really shine. The same applies to Zorua; I feel as if other Pokemon could better fill these teamslots.

At this point, we have with Tirtouga/Bunnelby/Pawniard, which is very vulnerable to Fighting-types, Foongus, Sun teams, and hazard stackers, such as Ferroseed and Dwebble. Adding Spritzee will help immensely with Fighting-types and serve as a strong defensive Pokemon to pivot to.
Spritzee @ Eviolite
Ability: Aroma Veil
Level: 5
EVs: 212 HP / 196 Def / 12 SpA / 76 SpD / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy / Calm Mind
Wish is useful for supporting Pawniard in particular, while Protect allows Spritzee to utilize Wish as pseudo-reliable self-recovery. Moonblast is Spritzee's reliable STAB move, and Aromatherapy allows Spritzee to support the team further. Alternatively, Calm Mind can be used to give your team a secondary win condition.

Vullaby is another good choice, in this case to provide Defog support; although this may seem redundant with Pawniard's Stealth Rock setting, Spritzee's Wish support will usually be enough to ensure Pawniard can stick around and set it up more than once. Vullaby itself is also able to handle Foongus, can check Sun teams, and serves as a back-up check to Fighting-types.
Vullaby (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Overcoat
Level: 5
EVs: 116 HP / 156 Def / 156 SpD / 36 Spe
Careful Nature
- Roost
- Knock Off
- Brave Bird
- Defog
Roost allows Vullaby to stick around, while Defog helps to support the team once hazard stackers have been removed from play. Knock Off is a decently powerful STAB move that also has an extremely useful side-effect, whereas Brave Bird is Vullaby's most powerful attack, and notably allows it to hit Grass- and Fighting-types hard.

We are now left fairly vulnerable to Omanyte and opposing Tirtouga; the best solution to this is to add a Fighting-type with STAB priority. Since this team already lacks safe switch-ins to Drilbur, Timburr would probably be a better fit than Croagunk.
Timburr @ Eviolite
Ability: Guts
Level: 5
EVs: 76 HP / 196 Atk / 76 Def / 156 SpD
Impish Nature
- Knock Off
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Poison Jab / Stone Edge

Timburr @ Eviolite
Ability: Guts
Level: 5
EVs: 76 HP / 36 Atk / 156 Def / 236 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Bulk Up
Here are two sets for Timburr; the former is a standard attacking set. Drain Punch is Timburr's STAB move, and additionally grants it with a bit of recovery. Mach Punch picks off weakened threats, while Knock Off provides good coverage with Timburr's Fighting STAB and can cripple most opponents. Poison Jab hits Fairy-types, most notably Cottonee, but Stone Edge is also useful to heavily damage Larvesta, Archen, and Fletchling. The given EV spread hits 17 Atk and reaches Eviolite numbers for 25/21/18 defenses after Eviolite.
The second set forgoes a coverage move for Bulk Up, turning it into yet another win condition. A bulkier EV spread is used to allow for easier Bulk Ups, reaching 15 Atk and 25/21/21 defenses after Eviolite.

That's it for now. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask. Good luck!

Thank you sir, for your input. I just changed Pawniard to the recommended EV spread. I also changed Azurill to Tank Snubull, Zorua to Sub+3AtkLO Abra, and Axew to Fletchling.
I'm now wondering if I should replace Fletchling for your recommended Vullaby, so I'm currently testing them both out.
Still looking for a misdreavus replacement.
I really want to keep Tyrunt, so i did add a little power by changing its moveset to Thunder Fang, Stone Edge, Earthquake, Dragon Dance
