I call this... Team Proz0rz. (UU RMT) I love using this team in OU. :D

Ok. I love this team, really. It's quite old, but I looove it. I'm looking for some improvements to make it just a little bit better. Currently, I'm doing REALLY well against OU teams. (They actually have a little more trouble against me than UU teams to even! Seems odd...) Anyway, on with the team!

~Overview~
Roserade starts. She puts to sleep whatever Pokemon is there, unless she can inflict Super Effective damage to the opponent. While the Pokemon is asleep I'll lay out two sets of Toxic Spikes and then begin attacking. I have no actual "sweeper." Roserade more often than not will sweep in the beginning, taking out 2-3 (sometimes 4-5!) Pokemon with her. My team basically relys on residual damage of toxic, stealth rocks (from Steelix) and Sucker Punch from Kangaskhan. It works really well with Gastrodon and Steelix. I can switch Steelix into almost any physical attacker (stay away plz Fighting moves) and Gastrodon into many too. Fire and electricity are nothing to me! :P If necessary, my regenge killer is Kangaskhan. Sucker Punch! :D Okok, I'm done. Go read what I wrote down there. =x

roserade.png

Roserade (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Sleep Powder
- Toxic Spikes
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Ok. Roserade is my one true love. I use her in nearly every team for some reason. I LOVE her as a starter. With Focus Sash she's able to sleep powder (USUALLY going first due to her +spd nature and 252 speed EVs) and set up toxic spikes. Or, depending on the Pokemon, go in for some decent damage with Grass Knot and Hidden Power Fire. I usually sacrifice her now, I won't change her out unless they have a starter that I can't put to sleep and kill in one hit. It's worth it though to get out 2 sets of Toxic Spikes and maybe take out a Pokemon or two.

gastrodon.png

Gastrodon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sticky Hold
EVs: 212 HP/252 Def/44 SAtk
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Surf

Gastrodon... People say use Milotic instead now that she's UU, but I just can't move myself to do so. The fact that Gastrodon is immune to lightning, has Recover, and can switch in on some weird Pokemon is just awesome to me. It's always good to have Recover as well, that's helped me in quite a few occasions. Earthquake and Surf for stab attacks, ice beam to take care of dragons. Def EVs to make her my bulky little friend. <3 Please though, if you can give me some good reasons why I should change to Milotic... feel free.

steelix.png

Steelix (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 HP/120 Atk/136 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Toxic

Enormous defence, he's bulky as hell. I love it. Toxic is my best friend for when I either can't get out Toxic Spikes or against flyers. Shouldn't even have to mention stealth rock... and I HATE STONE EDGE. The accuracy just kills me. What move should I use in place of it!? D: Earthquake for a powerful Stab.

hitmontop.png

Hitmontop (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP/72 Def/184 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic
- Stone Edge

My spinner. He seems to be pretty frail though. I can't often switch him in (granted, I usually play with this team against OU teams...). Are there any improvements? Something I can change to? I dunno. I like Hitmontop. Close Combat is nice, as well is Toxic. Again, I hate Stone Edge, but I think it's good on him.

altaria.png

Altaria (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 72 HP/252 Atk/184 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Roost

DD Altaria is fun. Outrage is really good, especially when I get a DD off. Roost helps heal off residual confuse damage, and whatever else I take during battles. Earthquake is probably my favorite move though, so of course that goes there. :P

kangaskhan.png

Kangaskhan (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 212 HP/82 Atk/216 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Focus Punch
- Return
- Sucker Punch
- Substitute

I really like this Kangaskhan. Sucker Punch is an AMAZING move, especially if you can time it correctly (which is pretty easy). Kangaskhan HARDLY ever Subpunches though (I haven't done it in the past... 15 matches?), so I think switching something out would be my best bet. I almost think adding Protect over Focus Punch would be good, just to stall out on people with a stab Return and a good sucker punch. But I'm sure there are better stallers... and I'd need a different EV set/Nature. :P

Ok, there's my team. I would really like some comments on it. Flames will be smiled at and thanked for the free bump.

I have a pretty good win record with this team. I just don't really do ladder often. ): Thanks everyone.

If you want a more reliable spinner and keep your team UU I'd suggest throwing Claydol in there. He can spin away hazards, hit Ghosts with Shadow Ball and set up reflect or light screen to make your walls that much better.

Hey, that's a good idea. Don't know why I didn't think about that. Hm... I still need a decent (reliable) fighting move. I can't depend on Kangaskhan's Focus Punch because I can't always get a Sub out.

EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it, I actually have gotten quite a few subs out... I just haven't needed to use Focus Punch. Hm. Still, I'd rather a more reliable one. D: I'll test Claydol. Thanks for that idea, I appreciate it. [:

Try Foresight on Hitmontop over Toxic, if you don't do this, you do not gonna spin against stall teams.

On Steelix, use Sassy Nature with Gyro Ball -> Toxic. Toxic will be usually useless with Toxic Spikes on the field. Also, more SDef on it will help against Yanmega and other special atackes, like Mismagius.

Too tired to adress changes in pokes. However you have a marked weakness to special attackers really almost every common sp. sweeper is a threat to this team(Milo, Yanmega, Roserade, Moltress), and Sub punch anything with ice punch (mostly Azumarill) pretty much beats this team by itself. If you are looking for a reason to use Milotic, then consider the fact that it has exceptional base sp. def. and with Haze it can be a physical tank and can beat Crotomb and CM Missy and Yanmega provided you dont flich.

Milotic @ leftovers
Bold; 252 Hp/ 212 Def./ 44 spe.
Haze/ Recover/ Surf/ Hp Electric
-Alright the speed is supposed to make you outrun Marrowak, RP Torterra before a boost, and the slow Blaziken. Check to make sure though as Im kind of going from memory and they might be off. Hp Electric can be ice beam, but your not ko'ing Roserade anyway.

Toxic spikes is just about useless in UU... Your better off running an extra attack or something.

Alright just some ev suggestions.

Steelix:
I would probably run max sp. def and Sassy nature. on Steelix (replacing Stone Edge with Gyro Ball) as you have Gastrodon to help with physical attacks and you lack a special wall. Even if you use Milotic, then consider this change to help take nuetral hits better. The attack ev's arent going to be missed that much anyway.

Hitmontop:
252 Hp/ 200 Def./ 56 Sp. Def. - The only Hitmontop spread I use. SHOULD beat absol, but with crits all things are possible.

Alright, bed time... Sorry this isnt a full rate, but you should get some help from others. If I get on tomm. and you still havent received further help, Ill help some more.

Not much I can see (especially since I don't play UU yet) but if you have Toxic Spikes and Hitmontop also knows Toxic, what's the point of having Toxic on Steelix? Explosion could always be effective on him, with a base 85 attack and maybe pump some extra attack EVs into him, he could be a wall for a while then leave a huge dent in their team.

I wish I could help more but I don't really know much about UU :/

Hey, I appreciate all of the help guys.

@BurtonEarny

Thankfully I mostly play OU with this team. :P I really enjoy Toxic Spikes, so I'm pretty sure I'll keep it there for now. It's helped my team out a lot, even if I can only get out 1. And everyone is right about the toxic on Steelix, I'll be replacing it with either Explosion or Roar.

I really like those EV spreads. Once my friend gets on I'll be testing everything out, and I have a feeling I'll be using it. If I max sdef on Steelix I'll probably be using Roar.

And no worries about not being a "full" rate. It helped. Much appreciated. (=

Well if you are playing this team in OU, then there are some things that you should consider.

For example:
Roserades secondary move should be something that can hit MOST of her switch-ins for decent damage. Currently you carry Hp fire, which is fine for OU play, but in UU it has better options (since a neutral STAB Sludge Bomb nearly has the same base power against a foe weak to fire) However the most common lead in OU and most common poke in OU are both immune to Sludge Bomb, so the move is not nearly as helpful. So, in one tier you are helping yourself, and in another you are hurting yourself.

Another Example:
Roserade's grass knot should typically be Leaf Storm or even Energy Ball since most UU threats are on the lighter side of the Scale. However in OU, this is not the case and grass knot can usually be counted on to have a higher base power than Energy Ball.

Toxic Spikes is another issue. Basically your Roserade is made for OU, and will be FAR less effective in UU...

Steelix and Stone Edge is another good example. In OU Gyro Ball is not as useful due to the prevalence of the steel typing. While Stone Edge isn't helpful in that regard either, you can hit DD Mence or whatever with it at the very least it seems potentially more useful than Gyro Ball. Really either can be used without too much difference, but Gyarados can come in on the Gyro ball version for free, and unless you run that Milotic... that means ball game.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now about addressing threats:
With 2 different tiers come 2 different sets of threats that you must address. For example, a UU team should never have to worry about trying to beat say a Specs/ Scarf Latias. (which by the way you have no safe switch-in to it and cant beat it w/o Kanga's Sucker Punch which is easily avoided tbh) In OU though, its something Blissey and a trick fodder poke can manage quite easily.

Heres another reason to use Milotic: Without Milo's HP Electric, this team will almost always lose to DD Gyarados no questions asked. However, should you play this team in UU it will help with Azu and DD Feraligatr so you arent really wasting a move slot persay. However, ice beam is VERY helpful in OU and wont let Latias come in whenever she wants for free. As it stands I feel you need the Hp electric a little bit more, but its your decision.

Mixmence can really wear this team down since you lack a safe switch-in to multiple Draco Meteors/ Fire Blast (Steelix only takes them for so long before you are out predicted).

Even Heatran and Scizor are very real threats to this team as Bullet punch KO's Roserade who packs the one move on this team that OHKO's.

What I'm saying is this, I understand that you like playing Standard with a UU team, but limiting your options like that is essentially playing with an arm tied behind you back. There arent many ways to beat common threats that OU has to offer without using some of your own. This team is not really competitive in Standard, and thats the goal of this forum. However, you said you dont Ladder much so, I guess do whatever scratches your itch.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, I didnt like your Kanga or its set last night, and I still dont. If you plan to KO standard threats w/o REALLY having a counter to them, then you need to outspeed them. Problem is this... OU pokes are often faster than UU pokes. The answer lies in a Scarf poke or priority user.

In your last spot, be it an OU match or UU match I could see an Absol being of more use. In OU an adamant nature is better, but in UU, you really need the jolly nature to address the threat of other Absol. This still will not help you against the common Heatran and Scizor, but I cant think of what to tell you for them. Rotom could also work scarfed as it resist both of Scizor's STAB's and is immune to superpower AND can outspeed Scarftran and OHKO with HP ground. This leaves you more vulnerable to latias though.
I would try both and see what works best:

Absol (w/ Super Luck) @ life Orb
Jolly(for UU) Adamant(for OU); 4 Hp./ 252 Atk./ 252 Spe.
Sucker Punch/ Night Slash/ Super Power/ SD seems rather pointless to be honest, you might try Pursuit.

OR

Rotom @ Choice Scarf
Modest; 4 Hp/ 252 Sp. Atk./ 252 Spe.
Trick/ Hp Ground/ Shadow Ball/ Thunderbolt
The Ev spread depends on if you want to outrun +speed Scarftran. I would recommend it as its the only way your team will have to kill the thing out side of an Altaria sweep. If you dont care about + spe. Heatran you can then opt for some healthy investment in Hp which will help with taking resisted hits better, but as I said. I dont feel you can afford that. I kind of like this more for OU matches, but in UU you will likely just lose to opposing Absol.

There you go, Im done for now. Again, my biggest suggestion is to not play this in OU and change some of the move choices to accommodate UU threats. However, thats is your choice... so do what you want.

Honestly. I'd rather make this team competitive in OU. I really think that UU stands a chance on OU. You just have to play differently.

Now. Let's say I switch out Kangaskhan for Rotom (which I believe I'll be doing right now) and Gastrodon for Milotic. That would cover my bases for Latias (If I use Ice Beam) and all that Rotom could do, thus making it more effective in OU, right?

Thanks for all of your help. [:

Also, thoughts on removing Haze for Ice Beam?

I do quite well against Celebi actually. Also, feel free to offer suggestions. I'm up to changing ANYTHING. I'm already probably changing out Gastrodon for Milotic.

You probably should as Milotic is bulkier, can do damage in return, still has access to Recover, and can Haze so that Poke's such as Cortomb or CM Maggy don't ruin your party.

And I would also suggest to keep this just in UU.

I'm going to have to ignore those suggestions. :P I really want to use this in OU. And it's not some gimmick/fun team either. It's to be competitive. Might as well prove that Roserade deserves OU status again.

Also. I believe I am going to be switching to Milotic. I do need a Hazer. Too bad if I use Haze I can't have Ice Beam.

Keep Haze. If latias tries to CM (Check for Leftovers so youll know what kind it is) then trick it with Rotom. It will be locked in CM. From there Milotic can wall it (it will eventually die to surf) Steelix can wall the version with just dragon pulse once it as been tricked.

Trick versions of Latias will be a huge problem though, because you wont have something that can take an incorrectly predicted hit.

Ok. Still waiting for my friend to sign on to test it. :P He has a team that'd be good against mine I think.

EDIT: Got impatient so I started ladder matches. So far so good, the team is doing VERY well against OU. Only 1 loss and 10 wins so far. My loss was due to a missclick as well (sent out Rotom and got him killed D: ). Your fixes helped me tremendously, and Milotic is doing AWESOME. Haze won me two matches, without it I would have lost. Also, I switched out Toxic on Steelix and put Explosion. That won me a match too where someone said "bullshit hax." lol

EDIT2: I think I found a problem against Kingdra... I may make Altaria Jolly with max speed EVs...

EDIT3: Jolly Altaria helps a bit. I miss the added attack, but she's faster.
