In-Game Tier List Discussion

What makes Bisharp ranked so low?
Medium Fast xp gain, Faint Attack for Double Team-ers, Metal Claw, Slash, Night Slash, Embargo is actually really helpful in the E4. It's good towards the end of the game and to finish off battles, and it's got some natural bulk and a good ability in Competitive Spirit. It also 4x resists dark, where a lot of pokes have access to dark type moves.
Comes much too late and evolves even later.

Catch very late in game, (around gym 8). Also, it doesn't evolve until lv. 52, around the elite 4 if you are lucky. Although it does have an advantage against three E4 members, it has to rely on Night slash/Iron head(Metal claw)/Brick break, which are weak. Also, has only base 70 speed, and not great special bulk.

EDIT: Double ninja'd

Night Slash is 70 w/ high crit ratio, and Brick Break has a respectable 75.
Metal Claw kind of sucks, I guess, though if you hold out on two more levels you get Iron Head which doesn't seem that bad at 80

I can see why it wouldn't be highly reccomended (late late game and all) but I wouldn't call those moves really weak.

Probably the low Speed and quad-Fighting weakness.

Also, is their any sound/music to denote a shaking patch of grass?

There's a *shake shake* sound. Besides, the shaky grass looks like a badly placed layer and is really easy to spot. The music from the shaky patch battles is different from the regular battles, though.

I just accelgor'd Leroy

Bisharp is also found near the very end of the game, cannot beat the various Opelucid Gym Druddigons thanks to Revenge, and can't do a thing against Renbu/Marshal. Also weak to Reshiram. Oh-and Pawniard is probably going to ONLY evolve around the E4 in the first place.

While I admittedly want to have an "extended tier list" for post-E4 playthroughs (with the goal being "Beat Cynthia, Alder/Adeku, Morimoto, and capture the Musketeers other than Keldeo, the Djinn trio, Kyurem, and Volcarona") I'm content w/o one.

Well at that point it's just transferring your DPPt Pokes into the game.

Hmm, wonder how Joltik will work if I get an egg traded in early game (I'm buying off Amazon because of the 5 buck credit appeals to my stingyness, but know someone who will get it in-store and will likely finish the story before it arrives). I may also get Timburr with Mach Punch for lulz.

Hmm, who to add to this team

Bachuru

534.png
Dokkura
607.png
Hitomoshi (late game addition, level 41 evolution and all)

Hmm, who to add.

Tympole adds a solid water type user, but its secondary coverage is redundent with Dokkura.
Darumakka is crazy, but feels too mundane (and useless till evolution) and redundent once I grab Hitomoshi.
Meguroko and Moguryuu are redundant coverage (while the 2nd would be cool combined with my XD team's TTar).

Why not grab Oshawatt for a water type and use the fire monkey until Chandlure series, or grab Snivy and use Aquamonkey?
As for that 5th and 6th slot (if you don't use Snivy/Aquamonkey), I'd get Sigilyph and whoever looks cool.

I agree. I used Monozu on my first playthrough and I had a hard time just evolving it to the second stage. And don't forget, you get Monozu very VERY late. At that point, there are almost no trainers left to fight with so you have to rely on wild Pokemon encounters.
The Hustle ability can also be a pain in the ass at times. The lack of VS seeker also sucks as well since it would have helped with the training.

Will the Victini event be counted? Because if so, you can catch it pretty early, and is strong considering base 100 in all stats. You even get him right before the BUG gym, and could help if you chose Snivy (you'd get the water monkey so it could be your first access to a fire type.

Also should the list be updated with the english names now that serebii's confirmed them and everybody uses them?

You can access Route 4 and catch Darumaka...

what's the big deal anyway. >_> Darumaka is one of the best Pokemon in-game.

I think updating the list with english names is not so much based on the high credibility of serebii's list but rather on the tediousness of the task.

No, the victini event will not be counted since it expires pretty quickly (roughly a month after).

You guys should be glad I have no life.

I added translated names. The hide tag doesn't seem to work for me but if you qoute it, you can see it.

Remember kids: This is different from the competitive tier lists, but at the same time can be something amusing to discuss!

NOTES:
  • When discussing Pokemon moving up / down, please give at least a brief argument with proof as to why.
  • You'll notice there are two different entries for some of the traded Pokemon. One assumes that trades are available, the other assumes that the player is doing a "no outside help" playthrough. Remember: THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO WITH TRADES IS TO EVOLVE YOUR POKEMON! NOTHING MORE!
  • Reshiram / Zekhrom are "Neutral Tier". Don't discuss them. It's too Spoiler-ridden.
So in here, remember: this isn't competitive stuff, it's in-game stuff. Discuss nicely kids!
Fixed a spelling error (suddenly "Klink" becomes "Kling"... Sawk used Kling!); feel free to point any spelling errors out.

Fixed...
I believe the problem lies in that there is a hide list inside the hide part. I think the HTML got fucked up along the way, IDK. my programming sucks.

so why isnt tornadus or thundurus included? They are both available before the e4 without an event.

They are roaming version exclusives, but I agree they should be in the list. Just put in parenthesis (Black) or (White) to show in which version they're included. They'd probably be low tier, though. lol

Has any one tried Accelgor? Any thoughts?

Catch around Gym 7, with weak moves. Have to make a specific trade to evolve. Doesn't learn bug buzz until lv.44, and has few options (Giga drain, Fail blast, sludge bomb) as well as frail defences.

Overall not good. (Good against Dark E4 though)

Also, How good is Swanna/Ducklett? Planning to replace panpour with it?
