[OVERVIEW]

Incineroar is an excellent anti-metagame threat in 1v1, capable of beating a majority of the prominent Pokemon in the metagame, such as physical Dragonite and both Mega Charizard formes. Its combination of excellent natural bulk, Intimidate, and Bulk Up allows Incineroar to tank some of the most powerful attacks in the game such as Devastating Drake from physical Dragonite and Breakneck Blitz from Meloetta. It also has access to an exceptionally powerful Z-Move in Malicious Moonsault, able to OHKO hyper offensive Pokemon such as Naganadel and all of the aforementioned threats. Its Fire / Dark typing also grants it an immunity to burns and Prankster status moves, letting it go toe-to-toe against Mega Sableye and Whimsicott. Additionally, no single type resists both Dark and Fire, giving Incineroar pretty decent coverage with its STAB options. However, Incineroar has terrible base Speed even for a bulky attacker, so it struggles against speedy variants of Pokemon that Fire-types usually excel against, mainly Magearna, and is also susceptible to faster niche threats such as Smeargle and Vivillon.

Moves
========

Bulk Up is lets Incineroar tank multiple hits from some of the strongest offensive threats in the metagame such as physical Dragonite and Mega Charizard X. Fake Out allows Incineroar to break abilities like Multiscale and Sturdy for free, as well as get Pokemon into the KO range of Incineroar's remaining attacks. This will allow Incineroar to beat Pokemon such as Dragonite, Magnezone, Haxorus, and bulky Mega Charizard Y. Darkest Lariat is a moderately powerful Dark-type STAB move unique to Incineroar that allows it to ignore opposing stat changes, particularly any boosts in Defense. This allows Incineroar to blast through stall Pokemon that rely on boosting their Defense, such as Mega Slowbro, Deoxys-S, and Type: Null. When boosted by Incinium Z, it becomes an exceptionally powerful one-time attack capable of dealing with threats such as Meloetta, Mega Metagross, and Aegislash. Flare Blitz is Incineroar's secondary STAB option, not only hitting harder than Darkest Lariat but also threatening Steel-type Pokemon such as Kartana, Genesect, and Celesteela.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP investment and 108 Defense EVs let Incineroar survive Devastating Drake from physical Dragonite, use Bulk Up, and then survive the following Earthquake; it also lets Incineroar tank two uses of Outrage from Mega Charizard X. Maximum HP investment and 100 Special Defense EVs allow Incineroar to survive Gigavolt Havoc from Magnezone, Draco Meteor from Naganadel, and Air Slash followed by Blast Burn from Speedy Bulky Mega Charizard Y. The remaining EVs are put into Attack alongside an Adamant nature in order to improve its offensive presence. Intimidate enables Incineroar to survive physical attacks it normally wouldn't be able to, such as Devastating Drake from physical Dragonite and Giga Impact from non-Hyper Cutter Mega Pinsir. A more specially defensive EV spread of 228 HP / 28 Atk / 252 SpD with an Adamant nature can also be run in order to always survive Choice Scarf Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam and beat Speedy Bulky Tapu Lele variants.

Usage Tips
========

Incineroar should be sent out against frailer specially offensive Pokemon, Pokemon weak to its Dark-type coverage, and Pokemon that boost their defenses. Fake Out is generally going to be the best play against every Pokemon, as it deals a small amount of chip damage and breaks Sturdy and Multiscale from Pokemon such as Magnezone and Dragonite. The only time Fake Out should not be used first is against Ghost-types like Mega Gengar and Aegislash, as well as Tapu Lele, as it can punish Fake Out with Psychic Surge. After using Fake Out against Pokemon that Malicious Moonsault or Flare Blitz can OHKO, immediately use the appropriate move to do so. This applies to Pokemon such as Mega Metagross, Mega Charizard Y, Meloetta, Mew, Genesect, and Magnezone. When against Pokemon Incineroar cannot OHKO, such as Mega Slowbro, physical Dragonite, Celesteela, and Mega Charizard X, use Bulk Up after Fake Out. This will give Incineroar the extra bulk and power needed to beat these Pokemon with either Malicious Moonsault or Flare Blitz. Against Speedy Bulky Tapu Lele and Mega Slowbro, using Bulk Up allows Incineroar to react to either Moonblast and Z-Reflect from the former or Iron Defense and Scald from the latter. For Tapu Lele, using Bulk Up allows Incineroar to 3HKO it with a combination of Malicious Moonsault followed by two uses of Darkest Lariat through Z-Reflect, with Bulk Up forcing Tapu Lele to use Z-Reflect no matter what, avoiding the need to predict. Bear in mind, however, that Incineroar can only beat this Tapu Lele set with the alternative specially defensive EV spread. Against Mega Slowbro, Bulk Up allows either Darkest Lariat to 2HKO through Iron Defense or Malicious Moonsault to OHKO if Mega Slowbro uses Scald.

Team Options
========

Incineroar appreciates answers to Pokemon that can hit it super effectively, mainly Water-, Rock-, Ground-, and Fighting-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Golem, and Kommo-o. To fulfill this need, use bulky Grass-, Psychic-, Water-, and Fairy-type Pokemon such as Mega Venusaur, Tapu Lele, Mega Slowbro, Primarina, and Tapu Fini, all of which can sponge up any attacks coming from these threats and fire back with their own super effective moves. They also appreciate Incineroar's penchant to nail hyper offensive threats such as Mega Charizard Y and Magnezone. Incineroar is naturally slow and thus has issues with Pokemon that can capitalize on its poor Speed, such as Jumpluff, standard Magearna, and Vivillon. Pokemon such as Genesect, Ferrothorn, and Taunt Mega Mawile can all do well against these Pokemon.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Incineroar can run a Jolly nature and Swords Dance in order to outspeed and overpower Magearna, which can survive Flare Blitz after an Iron Defense boost. However, Incineroar will lose some overall bulk, which can be detrimental against foes such as Dragonite and Naganadel. Will-O-Wisp can be run in order to beat slower Ground- and Rock-type Pokemon such as Donphan and Golem. However, this not only requires 252 Speed EVs, taking away from Incineroar's bulk, but also means it loses either Bulk Up or Flare Blitz, as Fake Out and Darkest Lariat are essential to its kit, and thus Incineroar will struggle against foes it would beat normally such as Genesect and Ferrothorn. Alongside Fake Out, Earthquake allows Incineroar to lure in Air Balloon Heatran, generally one of the best Fire-type counters in 1v1, and swiftly knock it out before it can do the same. Taunt or Flame Charge can be useful to beat certain stall Pokemon such as Jumpluff, Breloom, and Chansey. However, Darkest Lariat can usually provide a better answer to stall, ignoring the defensive boosts of Pokemon such as Type: Null and Deoxys-S.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Attackers with Super Effective Moves**: Despite Incineroar's positive matchups against several highly ranked Pokemon in 1v1, it still struggles against most Pokemon that can hit it super effectively and survive Fake Out followed by an attack. Bulky Water-, Rock-, Ground-, and Fighting-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Diancie, Garchomp, and Mega Lopunny all threaten Incineroar.

**Greninja**: Greninja is an incredibly common threat in 1v1 that can easily drown Incineroar in its powerful Hydro Cannon or Hydro Vortex.

**Sleep Users**: Pokemon such as Jumpluff, Breloom, Smeargle, and Vivillon can all put Incineroar to sleep before it can do anything to stop them thanks to its below-average Speed. Taunt can somewhat mitigate these threats, but that is reliant on getting good luck with sleep turns and therefore makes Incineroar only a soft check at best.

**Bulky Fairy-type Pokemon**: Fairy-type Pokemon that can shrug off Incineroar's Malicious Moonsault and Flare Blitz can seriously threaten it with either setup moves or slow chip damage. Pokemon such as Magearna, bulky Mega Gardevoir, and Mega Altaria can all mitigate the damage from Incineroar's attacks and follow up with powerful Fairy-type moves in return.

**Extraordinarily Powerful Special Attackers**: Pokemon such as Volcarona and Porygon-Z have the firepower needed to blast through Incineroar despite its notable Special Defense investment.

**Bulky Super Effective Attackers**: Despite Incineroar’s positive matchups against several highly ranked Pokemon in the 1v1 metagame, Incineroar still struggles against most Pokemon that can hit it supereffectively and live Fake Out into an attack. Bulky Water-, Rock-, Ground-, and Fighting-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Diancie, Garchomp, and Mega Lopunny all threaten Incineroar. The only exception is Mega Slowbro, which is even slower than Incineroar and can be knocked out by Darkest Lariat and Malicious Moonsault.

**Sleep Users**: Pokemon such as Jumpluff, Breloom, Smeargle, and Vivillon can all put Incineroar to sleep before it can do anything to stop them, thanks to its below average speed stat. **Bulky Fairy Pokemon**: I think it's worth adding that it loses to Gardevoir Mega in particular as it may not be intuitive that Gardevoir traces Intimidate, and Mega Altaria.

**Magearna**: While it may seem like Incineroar should naturally beat Magearna, thanks to its super effective Fire-type STAB attacks, Magearna can actually Iron Defense faster than Incineroar can set up or damage through Flare Blitz, and thus be able to Pain Split away the damage taken and get it in range of Twinkle Tackle relatively safely.

  • Bulk Up is run in order to boost both Incineroar's Attack and Defense by one stage, allowing it to tank multiple hits from some of the strongest offensive threats in the metagame, such as physical Dragonite and Mega Charizard X you can probably find more than these two examples, so you don't have to repeat them all the time.
  • Fake Out allows Incineroar to do a slight amount of chip damage on the first turn of the battle, flinching your opponent and breaking abilities like Multiscale and Sturdy for free, as well as getting Pokemon in range of your remaining attacks. This will allow Incineroar to beat Pokemon such as Dragonite, Magnezone, Haxorus, and bulky Mega Charizard Y.
  • Darkest Lariat is a moderately powerful Dark-type STAB, unique to Incineroar, that allows Incineroar to ignore opposing Defense boosts. This allows Incineroar to blast through stall Pokemon that rely on boosting their Defense, such as Mega Slowbro, Mew Iron Defense is around 4% usage, so is this mention necessary here?, Deoxys-S, and Type: Null. When boosted by Incinium Z, it becomes an exceptionally powerful one time nuke capable of dealing with threats such as Meloetta, Mega Metagross, and Mega Sableye.
  • Flare Blitz is Incineroar's secondary STAB option, not only hitting stronger than Darkest Lariat but also threatening bulky Steel-type Pokemon such as Kartana, Genesect, and Celesteela.

  • The rest is put into Attack in order to improve its offensive presence. What does this extra investment help with? Why do you put these remaining EVs here instead of further investing in Bulk or making up for its lack of speed?
  • Intimidate lowers an opponent's Attack by one stage at the start of the battle, enabling Incineroar to live physical attacks it normally wouldn't be able to, such as Devastating Drake from physical Dragonite and Giga Impact from non-Hyper Cutter Mega Pinsir. again, first one is repeated too often, and the latter is kinda irrelevant, since 90% of Pinsir run Hyper Cutter (no real reason to run moxie or mold breaker)
  • A more specially defensive spread of 152 HP / 104 Atk / 252 SpD with an Adamant nature can also be run in order to live a Choice Scarf Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam and beat all Tapu Lele variants, not just speedy bulky. I reckon you should move this in Other Options or just make another Set.
Usage Tips
========

  • Fake Out is generally going to be the best play against every Pokemon as it deals a small amount of chip damage and breaks Sturdy and Multiscale from Pokemon such as Magnezone and Dragonite. The only time Fake Out should not be used first is against Ghost-types like Mega Gengar, as well as Aegislash and Tapu Lele, as they can punish Fake Out through King's Shield they're a ghost type, you can't hit them with fake out anyway and Psychic Surge.
  • After using Fake Out, against Pokemon Malicious Moonsault or Flare Blitz can OHKO, immediately use your Z-Move or Fire-type STAB to do so. This applies to Pokemon such as Mega Metagross, Mega Charizard Y, Meloetta, Mew, Genesect, and Magnezone.
  • Against Pokemon Incineroar cannot OHKO, such as Mega Slowbro, speedy bulky Tapu Lele you can't beat it either way, physical Dragonite, Celesteela this is also an iffy matchup, as celesteela's subtect leech seed set just wins, and Mega Charizard X, use Bulk Up after Fake Out. This will give Incineroar the extra bulk and power needed to beat these Pokemon with either Malicious Moonsault or Flare Blitz.
  • Against speedy bulky Tapu Lele and Mega Slowbro, using Bulk Up allows Incineroar to react to either Moonblast and Z-Reflect or Iron Defense and Scald, respectively. For Tapu Lele, using Bulk Up allows Incineroar to 3HKO Lele can just outspeed you and 3HKO with Moonblast even without SpA investments with a combination of Malicious Moonsault into two Darkest Lariats through Z-Reflect, with Bulk Up forcing Tapu Lele to use Z-Reflect no matter what, avoiding a 50/50. Against Mega Slowbro, Bulk Up allows either Darkest Lariat to 2HKO through Iron Defense, or Malicious Moonsault to OHKO after a Scald.
Team Options
========

  • Incineroar appreciates answers to Pokemon that can hit it super effectively, mainly Water-, Rock-, Ground-, and Fighting-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Golem, and Kommo-o. To fulfill this need, use bulky Grass-, Psychic-, Water-, and Fairy-type Pokemon such as Mega Venusaur, Tapu Lele, Mega Slowbro, Primarina, and Tapu Fini, who can all sponge up any attacks coming from these threats and fire back with their own super effective moves. They also appreciate Incineroar's penchant to nail hyper offensive threats such as Mega Charizard Y and Magnezone.
  • Incineroar is naturally slow, and thus has issues with Pokemon that can abuse a poor Speed stat, such as Jumpluff, standard Magearna, and Vivillon. Pokemon such as Genesect, Ferrothorn, and Taunt Mega Mawile can all do well against these Pokemon.
  • That's it? what about Z Porygon-Z? Greninja? or special attackers that hit too strong for Inci to tank anyway in general?
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Incineroar can run a Jolly Nature and Swords Dance in order to outspeed and overpower Magearna, which can unfortunately live a Flare Blitz after an Iron Defense. Being able to use Swords Dance first remedies this, granting Incineroar a positive matchup against this prevalent threat in exchange for losing overall bulk, which can be detrimental against matchups such as Dragonite and Naganadel.
  • Will-O-Wisp can be run in order to beat slower Ground- and Rock-type Pokemon such as Donphan and Golem. However, this not only requires 252 Speed EVs to be invested into Incineroar, taking away from its bulk, but it also loses either Bulk Up or Flare Blitz, as Fake Out and Darkest Lariat is essential to run with Will-O-Wisp, which causes Incineroar to struggle against previously trivial matchups such as Genesect and Ferrothorn.
  • Earthquake, alongside Fake Out, allows Incineroar to lure in Air Balloon Heatran, generally one of the best Fire-type counters in 1v1, and swiftly knock it out before it can do the same.
  • Taunt or Flame Charge can be useful useful in beating certain stall Pokemon such as Jumpluff, Breloom, and Chansey. However, Darkest Lariat usually can provide a better answer to stall, being able to ignore the defensive boosts of Pokemom such as Type: Null and Deoxys-S.
Checks and Counters
===================

The only exception is Mega Slowbro, which is even slower than Incineroar and can be knocked out by Darkest Lariat and Malicious Moonsault. is this necessary in a checks&counters section?

**Sleep Users**: Pokemon such as Jumpluff, Breloom, Smeargle, and Vivillon can all put Incineroar to sleep before it can do anything to stop them, thanks to its below average speed stat. Taunt can somewhat mitigate these threats, but that is reliant on getting good luck with sleep turns, and is therefore only a soft check at best.

**Bulky Fairy Pokemon**: Fairy-type Pokemon that can shrug off Incineroar's Malicious Moonsault and Flare Blitz can seriously threaten Incineroar with either setup or slow chip and recovery. Pokemon such as Magearna, bulky Mega Gardevoir, and Mega Altaria can all mitigate the damage taken by Incineroar and follow up with powerful Fairy-type moves in return.

add threats like greninja, special dragonite, volcarona, who just outspeed you and hit you too hard

  • Incineroar is an excellent anti-meta threat in 1v1, having the capabilities to beat a majority of the A+/S [Shouldn't this be switched to S/A+] ranked Pokemon in the tier, such as physical Dragonite and both Mega Charizards.
  • Its combination of excellent natural bulk, Intimidate, and Bulk Up allow Incineroar to tank some of the most powerful attacks in the game, both physical and special, such as Devastating Drake from physical Dragonite and Breakneck Blitz from Meloetta.
  • It also has access to an exceptionally powerful Z-Move, Malicious Moonsault, able to OHKO hyper offensive Pokemon such as Naganadel and all of the aforementioned opponents after using Bulk Up.
  • It's Fire / Dark type also grants it simultaneously an immunity to burn and Prankster, granting Incineroar excellent matchups against Mega Sableye and Whimsicott
    [I'd also include why Incineroar's STAB's are good, considering no single pokemon resists both of its STABs and very few Dual Typed pokemon also resist it]
  • However, Incineroar has terrible base speed, even for a bulky attacker, and thus struggles against speedy variants of Pokemon Fire-types usually excel against, mainly Magearna, as well as being susceptible to faster niche threats such as Smeargle and Vivillon.

**Extraordinarily Powerful Special Attackers**: Pokemon such as Volcarona and Porygon Z all have the firepower needed to blast through Incineroar, despite its notable Special Defense investment (You're only investing 100 EVs + 252 HP, maybe change investment to bulk)

The only time Fake Out should not be used first is against Ghost-types like Mega Gengar, as well as Aegislash and Tapu Lele, as they can punish Fake Out through King's Shield and Psychic Surge (Also Aegi is a ghost type so it's not necessary to mention it here. Aegi should probably be mentioned later where you have to z move t1 and fb turn 2 to win through kings shield). After using Fake Out, against Pokemon Malicious Moonsault or Flare Blitz can OHKO, immediately use your Z-Move or Fire-type STAB to do so. This applies to Pokemon such as Mega Metagross, Mega Charizard Y, Meloetta, Mew, Genesect, and Magnezone. Against Pokemon Incineroar cannot OHKO, such as Mega Slowbro, speedy bulky Tapu Lele, physical Dragonite, Celesteela, and Mega Charizard X, use Bulk Up after Fake Out. This will give Incineroar the extra bulk and power needed to beat these Pokemon with either Malicious Moonsault or Flare Blitz. Against speedy bulky Tapu Lele and Mega Slowbro, using Bulk Up allows Incineroar to react to either Moonblast and Z-Reflect or Iron Defense and Scald, respectively. For Tapu Lele, using Bulk Up allows Incineroar to 3HKO with a combination of Malicious Moonsault into two Darkest Lariats through Z-Reflect, with Bulk Up forcing Tapu Lele to use Z-Reflect no matter what, avoiding a 50/50. Against Mega Slowbro, Bulk Up allows either Darkest Lariat to 2HKO through Iron Defense, or Malicious Moonsault to OHKO after a Scald.

Team Options

Incineroar appreciates answers to Pokemon that can hit it super effectively, mainly Water-, Rock-, Ground-, and Fighting-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Golem, and Kommo-o. They also appreciate Incineroar's penchant (ability, this word doesn't work here) to nail hyper offensive threats such as Mega Charizard Y and Magnezone. Incineroar is naturally slow, and thus has issues with Pokemon that can abuse a poor Speed stat, such as Jumpluff, standard Magearna, and Vivillon. Pokemon such as Genesect, Ferrothorn, and Taunt Mega Mawile (Consider replacing Maw with Zeraora which more obviously deals with these threats, also ferro can lose to viv) can all do well against these Pokemon.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Incineroar can run a Jolly Nature and Swords Dance in order to outspeed and overpower Magearna, which can unfortunately live a Flare Blitz after an Iron Defense. Being able to use Swords Dance first remedies this, granting Incineroar a positive matchup against this prevalent threat in exchange for losing overall bulk, which can be detrimental against matchups such as Dragonite and Naganadel. Will-O-Wisp can be run in order to beat slower Ground- and Rock-type Pokemon such as Donphan and Golem. However, this not only requires 252 Speed EVs to be invested into Incineroar, taking away from its bulk, but it also loses either Bulk Up or Flare Blitz, as Fake Out and Darkest Lariat is essential to run with Will-O-Wisp (might seem obvious but add why you need these [to beat the aforementioned threats]), which causes Incineroar to struggle against previously trivial matchups such as Genesect and Ferrothorn. Earthquake, alongside Fake Out, allows Incineroar to lure in Air Balloon Heatran, generally one of the best Fire-type counters in 1v1, and swiftly knock it out before it can do the same. Taunt or Flame Charge can be useful useful in beating certain stall Pokemon such as Jumpluff, Breloom, and Chansey. However, Darkest Lariat usually can provide a better answer to stall, being able to ignore the defensive boosts of Pokemom such as Type: Null and Deoxys-S.

Checks and Counters
===================

(Greninja is worth a mention somewhere here, especially with its new A+ ranking, idk where it slots in in these categories but it's a very notable check)

Pokemon such as Magearna, bulky Mega Gardevoir (
48+ Atk Incineroar Malicious Moonsault vs. 248 HP / 100 Def Gardevoir-Mega: 309-364 (91.1 - 107.3%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO
48+ Atk Incineroar Fake Out vs. 248 HP / 100 Def Gardevoir-Mega: 46-55 (13.5 - 16.2%) -- possible 7HKO
252 SpA Pixilate Gardevoir-Mega Hyper Beam vs. 252 HP / 100 SpD Incineroar: 345-406 (87.5 - 103%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO
)
lol, and Mega Altaria can all mitigate the damage taken by Incineroar and follow up with powerful Fairy-type moves in return.

**Extraordinarily Powerful Special Attackers**: Pokemon such as Volcarona and Porygon Z all have the firepower needed to blast through Incineroar, despite its notable Special Defense investment (You're only investing 100 EVs + 252 HP, maybe change investment to bulk)

Incineroar is an excellent anti-metagame threat in the 1v1 metagame, having the capabilities to beat capable of beating a majority of the S/A+ ranked high-tier Pokemon in the tier, such as physical Dragonite and both Mega Charizards Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y. Its combination of excellent natural bulk, Intimidate, and Bulk Up allow Incineroar to tank some of the most powerful physical and special attacks in the game, both physical and special, such as Devastating Drake from physical Dragonite and Breakneck Blitz from Meloetta. It also has access to an exceptionally powerful Z-Move, (RC) in Malicious Moonsault, able to OHKO hyper offensive Pokemon such as Naganadel and all of the aforementioned opponents threats. It's Fire / Dark type Its Fire / Dark typing also grants it simultaneously an immunity to burns and Prankster, granting giving (Eh, redundancy) Incineroar excellent matchups against Mega Sableye and Whimsicott. Additionally, no single type resists both Dark- and Fire-type, giving Incineroar pretty decent coverage with its STAB options. However, Incineroar has terrible base Speed, (RC) even for a bulky attacker, and thus it struggles against speedy variants of Pokemon that Fire-types usually excel against, mainly Magearna, as well as being susceptible to faster niche threats such as Smeargle and Vivillon.

Bulk Up is run in order to boost both Incineroar's Attack and Defense by one stage, allowing it to tank multiple hits from some of the strongest offensive threats in the metagame, (RC) such as physical Dragonite and Mega Charizard X. Fake Out allows Incineroar to do a slight amount of chip damage on the first turn of the battle, flinching your opponent causing the foe to flinch and breaking abilities like Multiscale and Sturdy for free, as well as getting Pokemon in range of your Incineroar's remaining attacks. This will allow Incineroar to beat Pokemon such as Dragonite, Magnezone, Haxorus, and bulky Mega Charizard Y. Darkest Lariat is a moderately powerful Dark-type STAB, (RC) move unique to Incineroar, (RC) that allows Incineroar it to ignore opposing stat changes, in particularly any boosts in Defense. This allows Incineroar to blast through stall Pokemon that rely on boosting their Defense, such as Mega Slowbro, Deoxys-S, and Type: Null. When boosted by Incinium Z, it becomes an exceptionally powerful one-time (AH) nuke capable of dealing with threats such as Meloetta, Mega Metagross, and Aegislash. Flare Blitz is Incineroar's secondary STAB option, not only hitting stronger than Darkest Lariat but also threatening Steel-type Pokemon such as Kartana, Genesect, and Celesteela.

252 HP Maximum HP investment and 108 Defense EVs lets you live Incineroar survive a Devastating Drake from physical Dragonite, use Bulk Up, and then live survive the following Earthquake, (RC) as well as two Outrages from Mega Charizard X. 252 HP Maximum HP investment and 100 SpD Special Defense EVs allows Incineroar to live survive a Gigavolt Havoc from Magnezone, a Draco Meteor from Naganadel, and an Air Slash into Blast Burn from speedy bulky Mega Charizard Y. The rest is put into Attack alongside an Adamant nature in order to improve its offensive presence. Intimidate lowers an opponent's foe's Attack by one stage at the start of the battle, enabling Incineroar to live survive physical attacks it normally wouldn't be able to, such as Devastating Drake from physical Dragonite and Giga Impact from non-Hyper Cutter Mega Pinsir. A more specially defensive spread of 152 HP / 104 Atk / 252 SpD with an Adamant nature can also be run in order to live survive a Choice Scarf Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam, instead of the 50% roll it presently has, (RC) and beat all Tapu Lele variants, not just speedy bulky.

Intimidate lowers an opponent's foe's Attack by one stage at the start of the battle, enabling enables Incineroar to live survive physical attacks it normally wouldn't be able to, such as Devastating Drake from physical Dragonite and Giga Impact from non-Hyper Cutter Mega Pinsir.

Usage Tips
========

Incineroar should be sent out against frailer specially offensive Pokemon, Pokemon weak to its Dark-type coverage, or and Pokemon that boost their defenses. Fake Out is generally going to be the best play against every Pokemon, (AC) as it deals a small amount of chip damage and breaks Sturdy and Multiscale from Pokemon such as Magnezone and Dragonite. The only time Fake Out should not be used first is against Ghost-types like Mega Gengar and Aegislash, as well as Tapu Lele, as it can punish Fake Out with Psychic Surge. After using Fake Out, (RC) against Pokemon that Malicious Moonsault or Flare Blitz can OHKO, immediately use your Incineroar's Z-Move or Fire-type STAB move to do so. This applies to Pokemon such as Mega Metagross, Mega Charizard Y, Meloetta, Mew, Genesect, and Magnezone. When against Pokemon Incineroar cannot OHKO, such as Mega Slowbro, speedy bulky Tapu Lele, physical Dragonite, Celesteela, and Mega Charizard X, use Bulk Up after Fake Out. This will give Incineroar the extra bulk and power needed to beat these Pokemon with either Malicious Moonsault or Flare Blitz. Against speedy bulky Tapu Lele and Mega Slowbro, using Bulk Up allows Incineroar to react to either Moonblast and Z-Reflect for the former or Iron Defense and Scald, respectively for the latter. For Tapu Lele, using Bulk Up allows Incineroar to 3HKO with a combination of Malicious Moonsault into followed by two Darkest Lariats through Z-Reflect, with Bulk Up forcing Tapu Lele to use Z-Reflect no matter what, avoiding a 50/50 prediction. Against Mega Slowbro, Bulk Up allows either Darkest Lariat to 2HKO through Iron Defense, (RC) or Malicious Moonsault to OHKO after a Scald.

Team Options
========

Incineroar appreciates answers to Pokemon that can hit it super effectively, mainly Water-, Rock-, Ground-, and Fighting-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Golem, and Kommo-o. To fulfill this need, use bulky Grass-, Psychic-, Water-, and Fairy-type Pokemon such as Mega Venusaur, Tapu Lele, Mega Slowbro, Primarina, and Tapu Fini, who can all of which can sponge up any attacks coming from these threats and fire back with their own super effective moves. They also appreciate Incineroar's penchant to nail hyper offensive threats such as Mega Charizard Y and Magnezone. Incineroar is naturally slow, (RC) and thus has issues with Pokemon that can abuse a capitalize on its (Abuse is a banned term) (not per se, just incorrectly used) poor Speed stat, (not needed) such as Jumpluff, standard Magearna, and Vivillon. Pokemon such as Genesect, Ferrothorn, and Taunt Mega Mawile can all do well against these Pokemon.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Incineroar can run a Jolly nature and Swords Dance in order to outspeed and overpower Magearna, which can unfortunately live survive a Flare Blitz after an Iron Defense. Being able to use Swords Dance first remedies this, granting Incineroar a positive matchup against this prevalent threat in exchange for losing overall bulk, which can be detrimental against matchups foes such as Dragonite and Naganadel. Will-O-Wisp can be run in order to beat slower Ground- and Rock-type Pokemon such as Donphan and Golem. However, this not only requires 252 Speed EVs to be invested into Incineroar, taking away from its Incineroar's bulk, but it also means it loses either Bulk Up or Flare Blitz, as Fake Out and Darkest Lariat are not removeable with Incineroar and are essential to its kit, which causes Incineroar to struggle against previously trivial matchups such as Genesect and Ferrothorn. However, Darkest Lariat usually can usually provide a better answer to stall, being able to ignore the defensive boosts of Pokemom Pokemon such as Type: Null and Deoxys-S.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Super Effective Attackers**: Despite Incineroar’s Incineroar's (Use the ASCII apostrophe and not the curly ones, as the curly ones mess up dex formatting when on-site) positive matchups against several highly ranked Pokemon in the 1v1 metagame, Incineroar still struggles against most Pokemon that can hit it supereffectively super effectively and live survive Fake Out into followed by an attack. Bulky Water-, Rock-, Ground-, and Fighting-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Diancie, Garchomp, and Mega Lopunny all threaten Incineroar.

**Greninja**: Greninja is an eponymous essential (or w/e works but that's not what eponymous means) part of the 1v1 metagame, and that can easily drown Incineroar in its powerful Hydro Cannon or Hydro Vortex.

**Sleep Users**: Pokemon such as Jumpluff, Breloom, Smeargle, and Vivillon can all put Incineroar to sleep before it can do anything to stop them, (RC) thanks to its below-average (AH) Speed stat. Taunt can somewhat mitigate these threats, but that is reliant on getting good luck with sleep turns, (RC) and is therefore makes Incineroar only a soft check at best.

**Bulky Fairy-type Pokemon**: Fairy-type Pokemon that can shrug off Incineroar's Malicious Moonsault and Flare Blitz can seriously threaten Incineroar with either setup or slow chip and recovery. Pokemon such as Magearna, bulky Mega Gardevoir, and Mega Altaria can all mitigate the damage taken by Incineroar and follow up with powerful Fairy-type moves in return.

**Extraordinarily Powerful Special Attackers**: Pokemon such as Volcarona and Porygon-Z (AH) all have the firepower needed to blast through Incineroar, despite its notable Special Defense investment. (AP)

[OVERVIEW]

Incineroar is an excellent anti-metagame threat in 1v1 metagame (department of redundancy department), capable of beating a majority of the prominent Pokemon in the tier metagame, (1v1 is not an official tier, as far as I know) such as physical Dragonite and both Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y formes (wordiness). Its combination of excellent natural bulk, Intimidate, and Bulk Up allow allows Incineroar to tank some of the most powerful physical and special (Do you really need this? If you think so, then feel free to keep it) attacks in the game such as Devastating Drake from physical Dragonite and Breakneck Blitz from Meloetta. It also has access to an exceptionally powerful Z-Move in Malicious Moonsault, able to OHKO hyper offensive Pokemon such as Naganadel and all of the aforementioned threats. Its Fire / Dark typing also grants it an immunity to burns and Prankster status moves, letting it go toe-(AH)to-(AH)toe against Mega Sableye and Whimsicott. Additionally, no single type resists both Dark and Fire, giving Incineroar pretty decent coverage with its STAB options. However, Incineroar has terrible base Speed even for a bulky attacker, so it struggles against speedy variants of Pokemon that Fire-types usually excel against, mainly Magearna, as well as being and is also susceptible to faster niche threats such as Smeargle and Vivillon.

Bulk Up is lets Incineroar tank multiple hits from some of the strongest offensive threats in the metagame such as physical Dragonite and Mega Charizard X. Fake Out allows Incineroar to break abilities like Multiscale and Sturdy for free, as well as getting Pokemon into the KO range of Incineroar's remaining attacks. This will allow Incineroar to beat Pokemon such as Dragonite, Magnezone, Haxorus, and bulky Mega Charizard Y. Darkest Lariat is a moderately powerful Dark-type STAB move unique to Incineroar (Again, are you sure you need this?) that allows it to ignore opposing stat changes, particularly any boosts in Defense. This allows Incineroar to blast through stall Pokemon that rely on boosting their Defense, such as Mega Slowbro, Deoxys-S, and Type: Null. When boosted by Incinium Z, it becomes an exceptionally powerful one-time nuke attack (nuke isn't a banned phrase per se, but it is discouraged) capable of dealing with threats such as Meloetta, Mega Metagross, and Aegislash. Flare Blitz is Incineroar's secondary STAB option, not only hitting harder than Darkest Lariat but also threatening Steel-type Pokemon such as Kartana, Genesect, and Celesteela.

Thanks for the check, it is implemented; changed the phrasing from "OHKO after a Scald" to "OHKO if Mega Slowbro uses Scald", kept the 'unique to Incineroar' phrase to set itself apart from other mons.
