Infrequently Used Moves

Memento was discussed briefly on the server last night. Practically +6 in each defense after screens and sacrifice, which gives at least one turn of set up. Even after they switch, you still have screens at your disposal to set up further or begin the onslaught. Sounds really fun; I'm trying to build a team around this currently.
yup, I mentioned that in my previous post. let me know how your team goes :D Seeing an ice beam that only does 11% damage to a yache gliscor is so fun.

I've tried Grivity+choice scarfed Rampardos. I didn't lose :)

Why Rampardos? Mold Breaker eliminates the effects of Levitate, so then the only thing you are hitting that you wouldnt normally is Flying types like Zapdos. In that case, wouldnt a CB Flygon be a better choice?

This move lowers the target's evasion one stage. Furthermore, it removes Reflect, Light Screen, Safeguard, and Mist set up by the target's team, and it removes Spikes, Stealth Rock, and Toxic Spikes on the target's side of the field. This means that targeting the enemy with Defog will remove any spikes laid by the user of Defog, but targeting the user's partner will remove any spikes set up by the enemy. The target's Mist prevents Defog's evasion reduction before being removed.

has defog been mentioned yet? It does seem like a healthy alternative to Rapid Spin in Double Battles.

I can honestly say that Natural Gift is one of my favorite moves. It's unexpected due to its rarity, so getting a KO isn't too difficult.

Currently, I use Natural Gift on a lot of my heavy-hitters on my Trick Room teams. Rampardos uses the Pomeg Berry for a great physical Ice-type attack for annoying quad-Ice weak dragons (I lack Platinum, so Ice Punch is out of the question for right now). My Flareon uses the Pinap Berry for a great Grass-type attack for those pesky Water/Ground types.

Snatch is the most underused move ever. It has so much potential...

Something like Snatch Breloom is impossible to kill. Anything faster gets Spored, Snatch the sub they put up to prevent your spore, set-up moves are snatched to allow breloom to sweep, and free healing if the opponent is stupid enough to Recover against a Snatcher.

Maybe Snatch Umbreon? Snatch a Dragon Dance, then either Baton pass away, or Taunt/Snatch if you think they will try to set up again. with Umbreon's defenses, he can usually take a non-SE hit and live to baton pass away.

And Gravity seems like a really good move imo. Only problem is that it only lasts 5 turns. If only we got an item to extend the timing for Gravity...

I've always found Snatch really situational but I suppose could have some utility with the proper set-up.

I'd keep subbing until you finally give up snatching :D

When I tried out Gravity in 1v1 a long time ago, it was with Probopass. Between Zap Cannon/Thunder and Earth Power, he could hit anything except Tropius and Jumpluff for Neutral Damage, and it was a lot of fun to use.

For TEAMS based around it, though, I'm sticking with 2v2, like the idea I have for the next tournament Nintendo's holding.

For those asking for an item to extend Gravity, CAP made an ability to do that and Gravity still ended up being less effective than something like a simple Encore. It's just not a big enough of an effect for it to be a game changing move.

Brian McCain and I created a Gravity Team. It was fairly good, though we haven't busted it out of the testing phases yet.

I find gravity to be a great effect, particularly in Doubles, as mentioned. It can be just as useful as Trick Room. A never miss Thunder and Blizzard are pretty nice and other moves normally considred inaccuarte such as Grasswhistle get a major boost.

Just whatever you do, don't use 1HKO moves, ignoring the fact that they are probably banned by the rules anyway. (1HKO moves ignore evasion) Though pretty much any move with 85% accuracy or less gets a huge boost.

On a seperate note, it's two bad they didn't have a gravity/trick room lengthening item, like there is for weather effects.

And every other grass type that isn't poison.

i think attract is a worthy mention and so is swagger . i like to set up with those 2 . almost every poke get those 2 but only few people use the nifty movers.
reminder: when a poke is both swagger and attracted he has only 25% chance of attacking

Thunder already hits Jumpluff and Tropius neutrally...

I think Dugtrio + Gravity that someone already brought up sounds awesome. Personally, I think a stall team where Blissey was using Gravity would be the most viable way to abuse it tho. Being able to poison Salamence and Rotom-A would be invaluable to any stall team.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, a team with the three forms of residual damage, or atleast Stealth Rock + either Toxic Spikes/Spikes, with a Gravity user and Scizor would be fantastic. The main pokemon people use to counter/"check" Scizor are Rotom-A, Gyarados, Zapdos, Magnezone, and Heatran. None of the former 3 would enjoy poison + 37.5%-50% of their health depleted, respectively. A simple U-Turn and your opponent is about to die from poison...
