Anyone know how to make a defensive team that can beat all the Magic Guard users? Like what are some sets that can beat Magic Guard that still work on defensive teams
Hi there, I'd like to talk about some forgotten donors that might have potential:
1.
It has access to Rocks, Poltergeist, Dynamic Punch, Stone Edge + No Guard, Knock Off, elemental punches, Drain Punch and Trick if you mind running Choice Band/Scarf.
Potential inhheritors: , , ...
Annihilape @ Choice Band
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Poltergeist
- Dynamic Punch
- Stone Edge
- Trick
2.
Do you like sun teams? Chlorophyll + Growth with decent special movepool including Solar Beam, Earth Power, Weather Ball, Sludge Bomb, Dazzling Gleam and Giga Drain. Also Solar Power exists, show no mercy.
Potential inheritors: , , ...
Chlorophyll + Growth but it has Knock Off, Dark Pulse, Focus Blast, Low Kick...so you might run mixed sets as well to counter classic defensive cores.
Potential inheritors: , , ...
Triage is getting suspect tested! Due to the new system, a suspect prefix isn't needed no more, but i advocate that your sus alt starts with TRI, because its fun to know who do you need to snipe

Why is Decidueye-Hisui/Triple Arrows allowed? Any inheritor of Decidueye-Hisui becomes ridiculously uncompetitive by being able to hax through defensive walls, and forcing the usage of Covert Cloak means sacrificing Heavy-Duty-Boots or Rocky Helmet.
With Annihilape as an inheritor, you have to OHKO it to avoid it Bulking Up and Roosting, which doesn't seem easy given its 110 base HP and Ghost/Fighting defensive type. With Zapdos-Galar, you have to face down both STAB Brave Bird and Triple Arrows paired with Swords Dance, which cannot be resisted by any defensive Pokemon.

i basically agree... for me urshifu and !decidueye would be up next for suspect.
the devil's advocate would be that the best abusers have middling speed tiers, are weak to status like toxic, clef!zap/thundy, and gliscor counters are really good and splashable, other more niche counters exist (quag!pex, unaware deo-d, enam) in addition to covert cloak stuff like you mentioned. that said, i think it's worth a suspect in the future. part of me enjoys having them around bc they are awesome stallbreakers and a counterbalance to bulky spike-stack teams.
