Its raining really hard.

Its been a long time I've posted a team so here it is.

Politoed (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Hypnosis
- Surf

The Pokemon that starts the rain. I didn't bother with perish song, although I might consider it. Hydro Pump is the main attack that hits pretty nicely. Ice beam is just filler, for D-nite, mence etc. But I rarely ever use it. Surf is my secondary attack, in case I feel hydro pump isn't really worth it. Surf is to clean up things. Mainly its usually a hit and run poke.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Water Pulse
- Calm Mind
- Substitute

I love this guy. But I think I can swap someone else for it. I'm assuming everyone is familiar with this set. This guy is monstrous in the rain. Parafusion is deadly with couple of boosts.

Latios (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Surf
- Dragon Pulse

Latios is my third special sweeper. He works well in the rain, after one boost or two. Psyshock is for pesky Chansey's and Blisseys. Surf is to abuse the rain. Its handy at times. Dragon Pulse for a good STAB.

Gyarados (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Ice Fang

No one really expects this one. When a pokemon is 50% or something like that, I bring up this guy waterfall, and get a free boost. I proceed to do heavy damage upon the opponent's team, maybe even sweep. Earthquake, Stone Edge and Ice fang are filler moves really. Waterfall is its main attack.

Haxorus (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Rivalry
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Brick Break
- Dual Chop

Outrage takes down a lot of shit bro. I like throwing this guy away for an easy KO, via outrage. Brick Break is to break dual screens. And Dual chop is to break subs and such. A fearsome dragon indeed.

Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Thunder Wave

Changes are in bold

The defensive guy. I'd figure adding rocks is nice. I like t-waving pokemon, so my haxorus or latios can proceed to take it down. Or my Gyarados. Gyro Ball is just there.. I might swap for power whip. Leech seed is standard and key to its survival.

Well that's it, I am open to replace team members and such. Thanks for helping in advance.

hey you seem to have a pretty solid team but concerning your ferrothorn i would say that gyro ball and thunder wave dont go well together you could try toxic+gyro ball or keep thunder wave and get rid of gyro ball and put in power whip like you said also whats with the weird EV listings?

no i was just nitpicking because the las two EVs dont change anything since its 4 EVs that add an extra point to the final stat theres always 2 EVs leftover and in the jirachi and latios movesets theres 252 two times and nothing else

Nice team but if i could make a few suggestions:
teach gyrados dragon dance. Having high attack or boosts doesnt do anything if you just get thundered by starmie/etc. and you want to make sure youre faster than your enemy especially with a 4x weakness to thunder in rain,or boost attack without having to make a kill first.

ferrothorn might want to know curse, it help stall, take down enemies easier with PW, and you can fake protect(since its a ferrothorn, they have it commonly) so that the opponent swords dances or just switches out/etc. while you get 2 stat boosts.

a lot of the team seems like its weak to scarf/banded terrakion or gengar due to stone edge close combat(and x scizzor for latios) and thunderbolt/focus blast. maybe get a counter for that. try:

Starmie@ life orb/scarf
timid (+speed,-sp.atk)
252 speed/252 sp.atk

-thunder
-surf/hydro pump
-phychic
-hp grass/ice beam

this takes down all the counter you have and outspeeds opponent's latios or gengar, and has good coverage. Also maybe try out thunder on latios.

I play cautiously with around Starmie. It usually switches in while I proceed to waterfall. It does about 30% or 40%. I switch out to Ferrothorn and prepare to absorb any hit Starmie throws.

I don't think I need a scarf starmie, its speed is good enough to outspeed Latios and Gengar. I really don't want to use curse ferrothorn because all I want it to do is to set up rocks, and t-wave the opponent. But I'll try it out.

I'll try out LO Starmie but who do I take out?

most likely haxorus, i mean yea its important but its not really rain based at all. maybe replace it with dgaronite/salamance. Maybe jirachi cuase you already have a stalling steel type and jirachi would die from storm drain gastrodon(it cant hit it) or other things who either resist thunder and water or dont take much from either and jirachi doesnt get stab on either thunder or water pulse. Also thunder wave is useful but ferrothorn unlikely to outrun much even after it and iron head would be preffered with t-wave on ferrothorn to flinch.

Hi, got the PM. Now, about Politoed, Hypnosis's accuracy is pathetic. Even if you get in 2 hits, you actually only have an 82% chance of putting something to sleep. In other words, two Hypnosises are like one Stone Edge. Now, Perish Song may not have much utility, but at least its consistent. And if your opponent ever gets in that troublesome Bulk Up Breloom or CM Reuniclus as a last man standing Poke, you've got an easy way out button. Your EV spread on Ferrothorn is rather ineffecient. 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD with an Impish nature (not Relaxed since you don't run Gyro Ball) gives you a magic number in Defense and ensures Ferrothorn is not 2HKOd by +1 Haxorus Earthquake.

Now, Terrakion can definitely cause some problems, as your only way of dealing with it is to revenge kill. In a similar vein, Landorus can be troublesome. Now, Gyarados really isn't doing much for your team as of right now. It's not some Offensive juggernaut, nor is it opening up a sweep for anybody. It's main job on your team is checking SD Lucario. One Pokemon who could fill the void is Gliscor, who can check all of Terrakion, Landorus, and Lucario. Probably go for an SD Acrobat set, as your team is primarily offensive, and it helps take out annoying Pokemon such as Bulk Breloom. Do keep in mind that SD Rock Gem Stone Edge from Terrakion and HP Ice from Landorus will still bypass Gliscor, but at least now you stand a fighting chance.

Finally, the loss of Gyarados leaves your team prone to Volcarona. One way to mitigate this issue is to run CB Dragonite instead of CB Haxorus. Both Pokemon hit incredibly hard, but what differentiates Dragonite is that it resists Bug Buzz. Now, you wont be able to abuse Multi Scale as much as you'd like due to your lack of a spinner. However, Dragonite isn't meant to sweep, rather it is meant to come in and fire off a powerful Attack. As long as you play intelligently with it, Pokemon such as Volcarona wont be an issue. Probably run a set of Outrage, Extremespeed, Earthquake, and Waterfall. The first move is an obvious STAB to take out Volcarona, Extremespeed provides powerful priority, Earthquake and Waterfall give coverage against Steel-types.

GL
