IAR, pick a fun arena!

"I accept the above!"

Arena: Bloons
Field Type: Neutral
Complexity: Moderate
Format: All
Restrictions No Water Source, No External Grass, No External Rocks, No Digging

The pokemon are high in the sky on a circular wooden platform with a 100ft diameter. No external water source, rocks or grass can be found on this platform. The platform is too thin to dig through as well, but the wood is strong enough to allow seismic moves.

In addition to any items the pokemon may be holding, each pokemon starts the battle equipped with 5 darts. Once per round, a pokemon may throw a dart for 5 energy with the Throw Dart command. This cannot be Encored or Disabled, but can be prevented by Taunt, Torment and Embargo. The thrown dart will pop a randomly-chosen balloon and that balloon will have a specified effect. Here are the balloons along with their chances of being popped and their effects:
  • Normal balloon (25% chance): no effect
  • Tack balloon (10% chance): deals 10 damage to all opponents
  • Spike ball balloon (10% chance): deals 25 damage to the opponent with the highest health*
  • Bomb balloon (10% chance): deals 25 damage to the opponent with the lowest health*
  • Ice balloon (10% chance): freezes the opponent with the highest health* for 1 action
  • Bee balloon (10% chance): does 10 damage per action to the opponent with the highest health* for 3 actions, shifting between pokemon each action if necessary
  • Extra dart balloon (10% chance): gives the pokemon 1 dart
  • Triple dart balloon (5% chance): gives the pokemon 3 darts
  • Boomerang balloon (5% chance): gives the pokemon 1 boomerang and allows them to use the Throw Boomerang command, which works like throwing a dart except it also does 10 damage to the opponent with the highest health* and can be used while taunted but cannot be used if the pokemon is throwing a dart in the same round
  • Lightsaber Balloon (5% chance): pops 2 balloons from this list (if one of those is another lightsaber balloon, reroll for that balloon)
* If it's a tie, choose randomly among the tied pokemon with an equal chance for each.

And so the battle begins!

Without hesitation Geargia begins to create a brilliant ball of light and refracts off of its metallic body and metal coat to concentrate its power before unleashing a Flash Cannon, which both dazzles and damages Koiga. Luckily Koiga's tinted eyes help it keep its focus as it begins to shake its body and release yellow Spores that fly towards Geargia and the Stun it!

While Geargia is feeling a bit sluggish with those spores jamming up its gears, Koiga unleashes a Supersonic wave at the same frequency as Geargia's metallic resonance frequency intensely confusing the automaton. As Geargia comes to its senses it tries to throw a dart at one of the balloons, but the spores jam its gears up and it is Fully Paralyzed

Koiga takes advantage of the situation and decides to launch a dart of its own. The dart flies towards a black and yellow balloon that has been buzzing and pops it to unleash a swarm of Bees that attack Geargia. At this point Geargia is littered with ailments and still can't overcome the spores and is Fully Paralyzed once again!

IF you are Fully Paralysed, THEN push actions back.

Eviolite more like Evilite ._. Maybe, just maybe, we can get ourselves out of this situation?

Start with a massive Fire Blast aimed directly at the beam of ice headed your way, and try to destroy it before it comes through and hit you. If you get damage on Virus that's great too but just melt the beam. Then, throw a Dart, and follow that up with a Twister, using the gusty winds to try and dislodge the Eviolite since we're going to have to get rid of that somehow. If the winds aren't enough you might have to get up close and personal and smack it off >_>

Fire Blast - Throw Dart - Twister
IF (Double Hit would be able to knock the Eviolite off better than Twister) THEN (Use Double Hit instead of Twister)

Round 2 Lets go!!

Both trainers decide its time to change the pace of this battle by switching out and Virus seems to be analyzing Kumo's weaknesses. A proverbial light bulb appeared above its head and it Downloaded a Special attack boost!

Before Virus could even stretch its cyber beak, Kumo unleashes a Blast of Fire right at the poor duck. Luckily, Virus' Eviolite allowed it to parry some of the blow and it shot an ice beam right back at Kumo dealing massive damage.

Next both trainers decide to take their chances with the balloons and launch darts into the air. Kumo's hits first and a boomerang falls out of the balloon and into her hands. Next, Virus' strikes another buzzing balloon the releases a swarm of bees at Kumo.

Noticing how little damage her fire blast did earlier, Kumo decides to focus a twister right at Virus' eviolite and knocks it off, but Virus is able to evade taking any damage. Annoyed by this, Virus shoots off another ice beam dealing massive damage once again to the dragon.

Kumo may have taken some heavy damage, but Virus has lost its eviolite so this could be Kumo's chance!

So like...Lairon and Tirtouga beat the shit out of each other, with Lairon beating harder despite typing disadvantage.

Also Lairon get a nice Bomb Balloon. KABOOM.

yeah, I assume you wanted to get some time back, so no flavor. Will do so next turn after I uglify simplify the format a bit.

Lairon: Head Smash: (16 + 3 - 1) = 18 damage for 10 energy

Lairon: Throw Dart for 5 energy

Round 5

Faster thanks to last turn's Bulldoze, Hieratic the Vibrava manages to set up a 15hp substitute right before Pikachu smashes it to pieces using Hidden Power. Due to the last round usage of such move, the energy necessary to use it increased quite a bit, which I believe was the plan all along.

After that, Hieratic attacks with Earth Power, only to receive a powerful Hidden Power (Ice) right on its face. And again the same happens and the Vibrava doesn't resist the second wave and faints

Hector: "Snooorlaaaaax"

Hey! Who let you out of your pokeball!

Hector: "Snorlaaaax!" (Translation: I want to blow up some balloons!)

Later you may do that. Just watch the battle.

Hector: "Snooorlaaaax!" (Translation: But I want to see the baloons exploding! They are boring, they don't explode the balloons!)

shush. You will get me into trouble here.

Vibrava: Substitute (15hp) for 12 energy

Round 6

Pikachu used Fake Out to flinch Geargia so some apparently good reason I fail to see. On the second turn, Pikachu uses its superior speed to fire a powerful Electro Ball, which got a nice critical hit. Geargia counters with Flash Cannon boosted by Minus, Plus, STAB AND Metal Coat. Quite a boost lol, but Pikachu is still alive.

And a naughty Pikachu that is. Using a move this ref took 10 minutes to discover the origin, Pikachu Split its Pain with Geargia and is back in the game. That is, until Georgia hit it with Hidden Power Ground, leaving it hanging by the skin of his big teeth!
