anyway i've had a cheap drawing tablet for a while but haven't done much with it (or gotten competent with it) until recently. i have a short attention span so I tend to draw individual pokemon in situations that amuse me, like: drifloon caught in a thunderstorm

i sketched this one in like 10 mins after someone posted a song about outrage in the OU forum. if someone pastebinned it can I have it because it was pretty good D:
this one is frankly the most mediocre drawing i've made. torchic is a kinda cute pokemon but i don't think i got its body shape quite right and my lineart sux. caterpie turned out as the best part. i think simple mons like torchic are kinda harder because it makes things like shape a lot more important for the pokemon not to look "wrong".
actually after drawing torchic i switched away from gimp for lineart. I still use that for coloring and stuff but it has poor (read: no) brush selection and i don't like its lines so much. now i'm using mypaint (linux program, kinda like painttool sai i think for windows users? mypaint is also available for windows but w/e) and it has better brushes and lets me make smoother lines, as you can see from drifloon. though honestly i guess the best way to make smooth lines is zoom in really far and be careful; i'm still working on it and would love some tips :x
anyway, feedback / insults / anything that leaves me open to make bad puns? all of my posts are ruses to allow me to make bad puns in the end anyway hehe
