Kaizo Mario World, anyone?

By far, the gold standard for difficulty in a ROM hack would have to be this rather sadistic take on Super Mario World.

"Proton Jon" takes on the second special stage. Much hilarity ensues.

If you wish to play along at home, or just want to see what you're up against, this page should point you in the right direction.

I managed to infect one community with this, so I decided to go for two. Have fun, bitches. :P

I tried this before and got to to like, some lava stage, but I guess I'll have to start all over at some point since I don't know where my saves ran off to. I plan to beat it at some point though, it's actually pretty fun.

I own the SNES emulator, I have the Kaizo World ROM, but I never actually sat down and played it. From what I've heard, it's impossible without knowing the stages beforehand or abusing savestates like hell. And because I'm not amazing at using savestates to their fullest advantage, I'd probably drop dead in a few minutes.

I've seen many gameplay videos, and I'm not a masochist enough where I'd do something like this to myself. :3
