Round Six: A New Contender!

We're back folks and boy have things gotten strange. Some sort of sentient metal has taken the field and Feebas doesn't look too happy. It gathers a real torrent of water and launches a massive wave of Brine (9 energy) at the...the whatever Beldum is. Because Feebas is so injured, it does some real damage too! A good move there on behalf of the little fish. In response, the weird metal thing gathers psychic energy, takes a meditative pose, and slams straight into the Feebas with a Zen Headbutt (6 energy), doing respectable damage.

Feebas knows his time is running out, so in order to reduce the damage he and his team takes from special assaults, sets up a screen of shimmering light (8 energy, lasts 6 rounds). Beldum isn't deterred though, so he delivers a devastating headbutt (5 energy), which, coupled with Feebas' burn (which has been steadily wearing him down), knocks Feebas out!

Note: Question regarding Future Sight. As Feebas was knocked out this round (before Future Sight would take effect at the end of the round), does it simply dissipate without striking a pokemon or does it carry over to his new one?

BZ, your new poke. Then Kaxtar, your actions.

Round Seven: ...into the fire

BZ has had it. It's time for his A-game. No more unevolved pokes, now he sends out his almost-namesake, Combusken! And that thing is fast compared to Beldum, let me tell you. Wanting to let Beldum get a little taste of what Feebas felt earlier, Combusken launches a blistering will-o-wisp (7 energy) at Beldum. Ouch, folks! It's the hunk of metal directly, leaving him burned (2nd degree burn, 2 damage per action, physical attacks -3 BP). Beldum isn't done yet though, so he responds with another Zen Headbutt (6 energy). Unfortunately, the burn lessens the damage to a degree.

Having gotten riled up at the loss of Feebas, Combusken now decides to send a truly devastating Flamethrower (7 energy). Beldum, feeling the burn, responds with a Take Down (7 energy) which barely deals any damage. Still, Beldum feels a slight recoil.

Combusken, annoyed at the assault, an unusual spinning column of fire (4 energy) which traps Beldum (4 actions, 2 damage per action). Angry at being caught, Beldum tries to break free from the fire spin to deliver another zen headbutt (6 energy), but it can't break free and takes extra damage (2 damage). What will Beldum do now!?

Round Eight: Burned

And we're back! I've got to say folks, things are getting hot out here. All the fire being tossed around is really getting to the audience, not to mention Beldum. Combusken, on the other hand, seems happy with the way things are going. It smiles at Beldum and pulls out a can of what look to be army rations...maybe spam. It tosses the can over to Beldum, who curiously opens it up. Oh my god! It was a canned flamethrower (7 energy). Luckily, this manages to dispel the earlier Fire Spin, allowing Beldum to inflict some return damage with Zen Headbutt (6 energy), although the burn does make it a little weaker.

Combusken is done playing games by the looks of things and without any pause whatsoever smacks Beldum with another painful Flame thrower (11 energy). Beldum is barely hanging on to consciousness, delivering a Zen Headbutt (10 energy) yet again.

Furious now, Combusken finishes Beldum off with one last Flamethrower (15 energy). Happy at vanquishing his foe, Combusken looks satisfied, but definitely tired.

Kaxtar, you're next pokemon please.

Light screen should be finished by now. From the data thread: Light Screen: The Pokemon summons either a golden box to protect itself or golden erect walls to protect it and its teammates. The walls reduce the power of special attacks by 5. The effect lasts for six (6) actions after use. Therefore, Light screen should be finished.

For my next pokemon, I would like to use Heracross using guts.

For actions, use Aerial Ace, Brick Break, Aerial Ace.

Round Nine: Coming Up Aces

This time around Kaxtar isn't playing games either, tossing out his massively strong Heracross. With that much attack power, Combusken is in trouble. Taking advantage of his buggy speed, Heracross spreads its carapace and launches itself high in the sky. After issuing a battle cry, it dives at Combusken in a devastating Aerial Ace (4 energy). Combusken takes the hit and remains standing, but not by much. In response, it blasts Heracross with blistering Flamethrower (19 energy).

Heracross is hurt, but still going strong, so it decides to go for the kill with a Brick Break (6 energy). The blow lands square on Combusken, and for a moment it looks like a knockout. Combusken, however, gets shakily to its feet and chills (+12 energy).

Unfortunately for Combusken, Heracross has had enough of this round and crushes Combusken with another Aerial Ace (4 energy), knocking it out.

Round Nine: Point, COUNTERpoint

With Combusken out of the picture, BZ sends in his last pokemon, the adorable Gligar! Knowing all too well the kind of damage Heracross can do, decides to Harden (5 energy) it's body, raising its defense. Heracross smirks however, and launches a venomous Toxic (7 energy) excretion at Gligar, leaving him badly poisoned. (1 damage per action this round).

Knowing Heracross's weakness to flying attacks, Gligar climbs high in the sky before engaging in wild acrobatic (11 energy) maneuvers. But what's this!? Heracross is countering (21 energy) for truly MASSIVE damage. That hit was utterly brutal, and some of the less strong-willed audience members have fainted!

After that monumental hit, Gligar flaps weakly into the sky and launches a Night Slash (5 energy) at Heracross, dealing critical damage. But after the devastating blow from counter, things aren't looking good. Heracross, knowing his advantage, ends the round by flailing (3 energy) at the weakened, poisoned Gligar with his horn.

Crap, I didn't want to deal THAT much damage. I want duskull to get some tokens too :( Did you subtract health for acrobat travellog? Heracross should be much lower than that, as acrobat does well over 30 damage in and of itself.

Assuming there was a mistake, use brick break three times heracross.

Oh, so you did take damage even though you countered? My mistake. I'll edit it in. Though this means you will actually deal more damage due to Flail being related to your HP.

Round Eleven: Game. Set. Match.

This is it everyone! The final round. With unconsciousness fast approaching, Gligar launches a powerful Night Slash (5 energy) at Duskull, dealing respectable damage. It's really feeling that poison though! Duskull, wanting to finish things up with one attack, launches an insanely effective Ice Beam (7 energy), dealing enough damage to end the match. Good job to both participants!
