Killer Rain in Platinum?

I just had a full blown battle against a rain dance team, and never saw this problem (yeah, I have ttar on my team). Yes, I was playing from platinum.

Hmm... Sceenshots would be really cool.. Id love to see DAMAGe from rain. lol.
This maybe a Glitch..

Couldn't it be an effect from an attack? No idea of what could have triggered it, though.
Still, the only attack that changed from D/P to Pt was Hypnosis, right?

It was a harmless glitch that hasn't been replicated in the conditions the OP mentioned. I think we can lay it to rest now.

Long time lurker, first time poster here.
What happened does not seem to be an isolated incident.
For those who have Platinum, here is a Battle Recorder video of said "Sandstorm Rain" in action.

Yes the battler's moves are fairly bad, but please bear with it until near the end of the video. That's when the Sandstorm Rain triggers. Hope this helps you guys with your research.

What if this is a hacked Battle Record? I'm sure its possible to hack those. Battle Recorders are nice, but I think we need multiple trusted sources verifying this before its going to become a recognized glitch.

... Also, how funny/terrible would it be if hacked Battle Recorders could spread glitches/problems to other copies of the game? People might actually write a real Pokemon Virus. Pokerus Platinum!

If this is only battles between Diamond/Pearl and Platinum, which I hope it is, then the bug is inconsequential. Shoddy Battle is simulating a platinum - platinum link battle.

I'm sure this isn't a Platinum to Diamond/Pearl thing, because this actually happened to me in game as I progressed, and I haven't hacked my Platinum. I can't recall the exact details, but I'm fairly sure that my sandstorm was triggered by Sand Stream as opposed to the actual move.
