ugh ain't she a beauty

[OVERVIEW]

The combination of its Ice typing, immense Special Attack, and above-average Speed makes Kyurem-W an extremely powerful Refrigerate wallbreaker, outpacing the saturated base 90 Speed tier while also OHKOing almost every neutral foe with Choice Specs Boomburst and 2HKOing pretty much everything else. Its decent bulk and useful resistances courtesy of its Dragon typing also make it difficult for defensive Pokemon to wear down without the right coverage. Unfortunately, its typing still makes it easily forced out by offensive Pokemon, which usually happen to carry super effective coverage against it, as well as defensive threats, which limit its opportunities to switch in with common super effective attacks such as Core Enforcer and Anchor Shot. Also, Kyurem-W is hindered by status, and its reliance on its item to secure some crucial OHKOs and 2HKOs makes it susceptible to Knock Off. Additionally, it is easily worn down by entry hazards and takes super effective damage from Stealth Rock, which limits its momentum and puts it within easy KO range of many even neutral powerful attacks. Also, it's not quite fast enough for pure offense, as it's outsped and forced out by major threats such as Mega Diancie, Mega Mewtwo X, and Mega Rayquaza, confining it to a wallbreaking role. Finally, Kyurem-W faces a lot of competition from Mega Rayquaza as a Choice Specs -ate user, as, though an Ice typing is better offensively than Flying, Mega Rayquaza has better stats and is much more unpredictable thanks to its better Speed tier. For example, Mega Rayquaza is a better user of Extreme Speed thanks to its much higher Attack stat, giving it additional revenge killing utility on top of its wallbreaking power, and it can also run a multitude of other powerful, viable sets that make it difficult to immediately counter. Still, Kyurem-W's bulk is enough to allow it to survive one even super effective attack from some offensive threats like Mega Mewtwo Y and Dialga, letting it hit back hard with Boomburst.

Moves
========
Boomburst is Kyurem-W's main STAB move and quite easily spammable with few repercussions. Boosted by Refrigerate, Choice Specs, and STAB, it is immensely powerful and cuts through many of the metagame's tanks and walls alike, including Giratina, Zygarde-C, Primal Groudon, Dialga, Ho-Oh, and Mega Tyranitar. The second slot is typically used for coverage, specifically to hit Steel-types. Earth Power is most reliable, as common Steel-types that resist it such as Ferrothorn and Celesteela fall to Boomburst. Blue Flare can also be used, as it combines power with coverage against every non-Flash Fire Steel-type. Alternatively, Magma Storm is an option that trades reliability for the ability to beat Shedinja and RegenVest Steel-types thanks to its trapping and residual damage. Secret Sword is another option, as despite having the lowest Base Power of the three, it is the most reliable, hitting every common Steel-type bar Aegislash. It also hits Mega Gyarados and inflicts physical damage, complementing Kyurem-W's special power well by hitting RegenVest users that resist Boomburst and Fur Coat (I don't understand why this "and Fur Coat" is added in, especially since Secret Sword targets and other non-Imposter Chansey even harder than Magma Storm. The third slot is for additional coverage. Volt Switch lets Kyurem-B pivot out, letting it maintain offensive momentum and keep up the pressure on its typical counters while also dealing sizable damage to Water-types. Freeze-Dry specifically beats Water-types such as Primal Kyogre and Mega Gyarados and grants Kyurem-W a STAB move to use even if its ability is nullified, against a Pokemon like Giratina. Draco Meteor is a powerful secondary STAB move, but its Special Attack drop leaves Kyurem-W vulnerable afterwards. The last slot is mainly used for utility. Switcheroo is a great option, as this set is a very tempting lure for Soundproof and Steel-type walls that are very crippled by receiving Choice Specs. It also removes Assault Vests and Eviolites, making it easier for Kyurem-W or its teammates to break down opposing walls. However, it makes Kyurem-W more difficult to Imposter-proof against Choice Scarf users, as they can take advantage of it to Switcheroo their Choice Scarf onto your Imposter-proof Pokemon. Extreme Speed can also be used with a Rash nature so Kyurem-W can act as a revenge killer. However, its Extreme Speed is quite weak compared to that of other typical -ate users and is risky to be locked into. Knock Off is another option to remove items without forcing Kyurem-W to lose its Choice Specs, surprising and crippling Assault Vest users and Fur Coat Chansey. Finally, Moongeist Beam can be used for a better matchup against Shedinja and to hit Mega Slowbro and Giratina for decent damage.

Set Details
========
Refrigerate is a must, providing Kyurem-W with the immensely powerful boosted and risk-free Ice-type Boomburst. Choice Specs amps up Kyurem-W's power, letting it secure important OHKOs against bulky foes such as Giratina, Zygarde-C, Mega Audino, and Dialga, as well as 2HKOs against bulky Pokemon that resist Boomburst and Fur Coat Chansey after Stealth Rock. This makes Kyurem-W incredibly difficult to switch into. Modest is the best nature, as it further boosts Kyurem-W's power. The extra Speed boost from Timid isn't particularly necessary, as the only thing it achieves is the guaranteed outpacing of maximum investment base 90 Speed Pokemon, which are rare and would not stay in anyway.

Usage Tips
========
Kyurem-W exemplifies a hit-and-run playstyle, as it is immensely powerful and even has the bulk to come out on top in many one-on-one situations where it cannot OHKO the target but is quite easily revenge killed by faster or stronger attackers or walled by defensive foes after it takes down an opposing Pokemon. Bring it in with slow pivot attacks, especially as the chip damage can sometimes be enough to bring would-be checks and counters into KO range, and Kyurem-W absolutely needs to conserve its health to take on foes such as Imposter Chansey, Xerneas, Mega Mewtwo Y, and Mega Gengar. Use Volt Switch to scout opposing Pokemon for support moves, especially Core Enforcer and Knock Off, the former of which deals super effective damage and neuters Refrigerate and the latter of which removes Choice Specs, both stifling a core source of Kyurem-W's power. Also, though it is not completely stopped by status, Kyurem-W should still avoid paralysis, which prevents it from outspeeding and KOing base 90 Speed Pokemon such as Primal Groudon. Once in, it is vital that Kyurem-W commits itself to the correct move. Boomburst is a pretty riskless, powerful move, so it can generally be freely used. Even Ice checks such as specially defensive Registeel and Solgaleo can be chipped into 2HKO range with the help of teammates. In safer situations where it is unlikely the foe will deal much damage back, it might be a good idea to use a coverage move or a Dragon STAB attack to nail potential Steel- and Water-type checks as they come in or use Volt Switch to pivot out to a teammate. Switcheroo can also be used to cripple counters as they come in, but this is generally only useful against more offensive teams where added power is unnecessary or when Kyurem-W's team cannot break through said counters otherwise. Volt Switch is a great move early-game, as no Ground-types will switch in to block it, and it can be used to scout for abilities like Soundproof on Pokemon coming in that would otherwise be unable to counter Kyurem-W as well as the aforementioned Core Enforcer and Knock Off. Maintaining offensive momentum is key to ensure the safest and fastest breaking down of opposing walls. Once a foe is successfully taken down, Kyurem-W will likely be forced out by revenge killers or confronted by walls that can handle the move it's locked into, so make sure to have a partner ready to handle them so momentum is not lost.

Team Options
========
In order for itself to function most effectively, Kyurem-W appreciates slow pivoting to pass it offensive momentum; entry hazard support and control to 2HKO virtually every single defensive counter with Boomburst, including Fur Coat Chansey and Registeel, without having to be worn down itself; and partners to Imposter-proof it, absorb status, and confront eventual revenge killers. There are several viable Pokemon that can fulfill multiple roles at once. Bulky Steel-types such as Registeel, Aegislash, and Solgaleo pair extremely well with Kyurem-W, as they can pivot out to it, set entry hazards, Imposter-proof it, and confront offensive checks such as Mega Diancie and Mega Rayquaza. Ghost-types also make great partners, as, in addition to the above, Kyurem-W almost absolutely requires a Shedinja counter, as Shedinja is still one of its hardest counters and will almost certainly result in lost momentum if Kyurem-W locks itself into any move besides Moongeist Beam. Thus, Pokemon such as Giratina, Aegislash, and Mega Gengar also work well, especially as they can all also check Mega Mewtwo X, and Giratina and Aegislash can set hazards and provide slow pivoting support. A Shedinja of your own can also be used to Imposter-proof non-Switcheroo Kyurem-W as well as provide pivoting to bring it in safely. Many of the defensive Steel- and Ghost-types mentioned are also viable Defoggers, and Mega Gengar can even switch in to absorb Toxic Spikes. Because defensive foes need bulk-augmenting items such as Eviolite and Assault Vest to safely confront Kyurem-W, teammates that can remove such items with Knock Off, such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Audino, and Yveltal, pair with Kyurem-W well. RegenVest Mega Gyarados, along with other RevenVest users, are also effective partners to Imposter-proof Kyurem-W, providing momentum and tanking hits. In addition to all of this, Kyurem-W pairs really well with faster offensive Pokemon that capitalize upon its wallbreaking power. In particular, Mega Mewtwo X loves Zygarde-C and Giratina being kept in check, and Mega Mewtwo Y enjoys Dialga, Fur Coat Chansey, and Steel-types being worn down. They can also check and force out more offensive, wallbreaking foes that limit opportunities for Kyurem-W to come in. Stacking -ate users is also a potent strategy, as the combination of Choice Specs Refrigerate Kyurem-W and Choice Specs Aerilate Mega Rayquaza can quickly wear down opposing Steel-types and blow through opposing defenses, as most teams only carry one -ate check. Many physical attackers in the metagame especially appreciate Kyurem-W's powerful special coverage. Pokemon such as Poison Heal Regigigas and Primal Groudon form potent wallbreaking cores with Kyurem-W, as Regigigas can quite safely set up against most Steel-types while Primal Groudon simply plows past them. Poison Heal physical attackers such as Mega Mewtwo X work especially well, helping to shrug off status moves and Knock Off while also garnering momentum and safe switches in for Kyurem-W. Finally, many of the aforementioned Pokemon, including Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Gyarados, can also tackle Soundproof walls like Arceus and Mega Slowbro so Kyurem-W can spam Boomburst without fear.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
========
Icicle Plate and Life Orb are options on the Refrigerate set, along with a mixed set of Boomburst, Extreme Speed, Bolt Strike, and Blue Flare. Generally, however, Choice Specs is more than powerful enough. Choice Scarf is also an option to KO a lot of frailer, faster offensive threats such as Mega Gengar, Mega Rayquaza, Mega Mewtwo Y, and Mega Mewtwo X. However, Kyurem-W requires a lot of chip damage to effectively do so.

Checks and Counters
========

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Because Kyurem-W relies on Choice Specs for power, the first step in countering it is predicting which move it will lock itself into. Bulky Pokemon that resist Ice like Primal Kyogre are the best counters to Kyurem-W, especially if they are not hit super effectively by common coverage. On top of this, Primal Kyogre often runs Assault Vest, making it an even more secure counter. RegenVest Pokemon like Dialga, Registeel, and Solgaleo in general are particularly good at checking Kyurem-W, as they can switch in, scout what move it will lock itself into, and switch out again to the appropriate counter, healing off the damage in the process. Other Steel-types such as non-Assault Vest Registeel and Aegislash can also check Kyurem-W, though most are least 2HKOed by Blue Flare and Earth Power and need high special bulk to confront it. Fur Coat Chansey also serves as a decent counter, as it can reliably tank hits when at full health, though it can lose to entry hazards and chip damage. Finally, with the right prediction and switches, Kyurem-W's low-PP coverage moves can be PP stalled by bulkier teams, especially as it is limited in move choice by its Choice Specs. However, this requires quite a bit of consistent prediction.

**Soundproof**: Certain Soundproof Pokemon such as Mega Audino are immune to Kyurem-W's main attack, Boomburst, and with enough special bulk, they can easily tank its coverage attacks. They must be wary of its Dragon-type coverage, however, as traditional Soundproof users such as Mega Slowbro get 2HKOed.

**Sturdy Shedinja**: Without Moongeist Beam, Kyurem-W is completely walled by Sturdy Shedinja. Even if Kyurem-W does have Moongeist Beam, Sturdy Shedinja can still act as a check with the right prediction, as Moongeist Beam is a risky move for Kyurem-W to be locked into.

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Kyurem-W is fairly slow, especially as it normally runs a Modest nature, so plenty of other offensive Pokemon such as Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Rayquaza, and Mega Diancie outspeed it and can put it out of commission before it can attack. However, thanks to Kyurem-W's bulk, it is difficult to OHKO without using a powerful super effective STAB attack, so chip damage is required when relying on coverage moves from Pokemon such as Mega Mewtwo Y and Mega Gengar and even STAB moves from weaker Pokemon such as Xerneas.

**Entry Hazards**: Kyurem-W is easily worn down by entry hazards, as it takes super effective damage from Stealth Rock, is put on a quick timer by poison from Toxic Spikes, and relies on switching in order to maintain offensive momentum, exacerbating its susceptibility to them.

**Support Moves**: Kyurem-W is reliant on both its ability and its item for maximum power. Thus, support moves that remove its item, such as Knock Off, and that neuter its ability, such as Core Enforcer, Entrainment, and Worry Seed, can temporarily decrease its power. Status also hurts Kyurem-W, especially paralysis from moves such as Nuzzle and Glare, slowing it down and preventing it from outspeeding the walls it is supposed to take down, and sleep from Spore, making it easier for other offensive Pokemon to shut it down.

overview
* weak to all entry hazards, especially 25% dmg from rocks. After rocks dmg, it cannot survive a single neutral strong attack.

moves
* clanging scales may be an option, which allows you to use a soundproof pokemon not weak to the second moveslot as a total improof, such as, weirdly enough, Zygarde-Complete.
* seed flare to hit pogre?
*Mention that switcheroo can take AV or Eviolite away as well. Though the loss of the specs means it still does the same dmg to those walls.

team options
* It needs entry hazard control.
*Add that Mega Gengar can absorb toxic spikes which would wear it down really fast
I'm not sure what your last bullet point means. It says: "Regigigas can quite safely set up against most Steel-type Kyurem-W". What does "steel-type kyurem-w" mean?
* Knock Off support can get rid of AV and Eviolite. Mega Gyarados, Mega Audino, and yveltal are good examples. Gyarados is also a decent improof.

OO
I've never seen the sheer force set put in work, especially since the power of ice beam is drastically lower than that of specs boomburst, but bolt strike is nice for hitting pogre. Does unboosted bolt strike 2hKO it?

c&C
*Soundproof*: pick a better example than slowbro, which is pulverized by Dragon-type coverage. Mega audino perhaps?

*special walls*: The best counter in this category by far is FC Chansey. Megatar with AV or in the sand can eat any attack but Secret Sword.
*Sturdy Shedinja: you should add that it can't safely switch in because of MGB or the 30% chance of a blue flare burn.
*Add: Entry hazards (especially stealth rock and toxic spikes), loss of item, prankster users, fairy-types as checks, Status users (especially paralysis and spore from Regigigas).
*Maybe add pp stalling coverage moves because all of them except Secret Sword and Core have only 8 pp. This is a huge problem when dealing with stall, because you have to predict well since stall teams usually have multiple kyurem-w answers.

Thanks for the QC! Here are some of my thoughts:

* weak to all entry hazards, especially 25% dmg from rocks. After rocks dmg, it cannot survive a single neutral strong attack.
Added!

moves
* clanging scales may be an option, which allows you to use a soundproof pokemon not weak to the second moveslot as a total improof, such as, weirdly enough, Zygarde-Complete.

Added! I've used this myself and totally forgot about it.
* seed flare to hit pogre?
Even 252- Bolt Strike is better than Seed Flare, as it always 2HKOes while SF only 2HKOes sometimes. But i'll mention BStrike there.
*Mention that switcheroo can take AV or Eviolite away as well. Though the loss of the specs means it still does the same dmg to those walls.
Added!

team options
* It needs entry hazard control.

Added!

I'm not sure what your last bullet point means. It says: "Regigigas can quite safely set up against most Steel-type Kyurem-W". What does "steel-type kyurem-w" mean?
I meant "Steel-types for Kyurem-W", my bad. Fixed!
* Knock Off support can get rid of AV and Eviolite. Mega Gyarados, Mega Audino, and yveltal are good examples. Gyarados is also a decent improof.
Added!

I've never seen the sheer force set put in work, especially since the power of ice beam is drastically lower than that of specs boomburst, but bolt strike is nice for hitting pogre. Does unboosted bolt strike 2hKO it?

Actually, unboosted bolt strike OHKOs 252/252 POgre 70% of the time

c&C
*Soundproof*: pick a better example than slowbro, which is pulverized by Dragon-type coverage. Mega audino perhaps?

Added!
*special walls*: The best counter in this category by far is FC Chansey. Megatar with AV or in the sand can eat any attack but Secret Sword.

Unfortunately, FC Chansey is 2HKOed after Stealth Rock, and AV Megatar is always guaranteed 2HKOed by Boomburst, and is 2HKOed by Earth Power after Stealth Rock. The best counter to Kyu-W of all time is AV POgre.
*Sturdy Shedinja: you should add that it can't safely switch in because of MGB or the 30% chance of a blue flare burn.
Added, except it's 20% not 30%.
*Add: Entry hazards (especially stealth rock and toxic spikes), loss of item, prankster users, fairy-types as checks, Status users (especially paralysis and spore from Regigigas).
Added except Fairy-types. The only Fairy-type that really poses a threat to Kyu-W is like Contrary Fleur Cannon Xerneas, as Kyu-W always survives even LO 252+ Moonblast.
*Maybe add pp stalling coverage moves because all of them except Secret Sword and Core have only 8 pp. This is a huge problem when dealing with stall, because you have to predict well since stall teams usually have multiple kyurem-w answers.
I didn't slash this, but I mentioned it under "bulky spdef walls"

Ready for more!

I don't want my thoughts to have a notable impact on reader and make them re-write the huge part of analysis but I don't think specs Kyurem-W is the way to go. There is barely any differential factor when compared to Mega Rayquaza that has better chance to 'bs through resists' with better offensive stats and can even use Extreme Speed on specs to do something against offense. It seems that whatever the moveset that Kyurem-W decides to use on specs will be better on Mega Rayquaza. The salvageable way to use Kyurem-W is possibly using a Choice Scarf set because that allowed Kyurem-W to strike faster threats like MMX or MMY first and still remains as a threat that can threaten to OHKO Giratina and Zygarde-C, and this is something that Mega Rayquaza cannot do. All in all Kyurem-W has been on a steady decline as a wallbreaker from full EVs as far as I can remember. Scarf Kyurem-W can actually do something against all teams, but specs is just underwhelming against offense and even balanced teams if they have good ways to lay down SR, has eviolite imp, etc.

Maybe there are possible counterarguments that specs set is the most optimal for Kyurem-W's role as a wallbreaker, but I just wanted to say I'm not a huge fan of incorporating a set into an analysis that is almost entirely outclassed by a more prominent Pokemon doing the same thing. I always considered Mega Rayquaza as the superior option of an -ate wallbreaker, whether it decides to run plate mixed -ate or specs.

Thanks for your thought-out response! I think you’ve brought up quite a few interesting points, and I want to explain how I feel.

To start off, I do think there are many relevant differences between Aerilate MRay and Refrigerate Kyu-W. This is a given, so what is more important is establishing that they are different in ways that don’t subtract from Specs Kyu-W’s viability—and I think this is the case as well.

The biggest thing (which you don’t address) is just the superiority of Ice over Flying as an offensive STAB type. Ice hits Dragon-, Flying-, and Ground-types super effectively, at the cost of uniquely being resisted by Water. Flying doesn’t hit anything relevant that Ice doesn’t, as Bug-types are bad, Fighting-types are frail, and Grass is hit by Ice. If you want a list of Pokemon that Refrigerate gives you an edge over Aerilate against, it would contain top threats like Giratina (never OHKOed by MRay but always by Kyu-W), Dialga, and Zygarde-C, to name a few.

What this translates into is just the fact that Refrigerate Boomburst is more easily spammable than Aerilate Boomburst is, at least in terms of offensive coverage. And this is actually extremely crucial for a Specs set, as let’s be real, MRay could probably beat those aforementioned threats, but you will be using Boomburst 90% of the time anyway, and you want to maximize the utility you can get out of the focal point of the set itself.

Of course, there is a tradeoff here, which you correctly point out. MRay has better stats, is much more flexible, and has fewer offensive checks. It is also much more unpredictable. However, I think the sheer fact that Refrigerate Boomburst is that much easier to spam than Aerilate is warrants the existence of this set, as Boomburst v Boomburst, Kyu-W comes out on top.

tl;dr - Ice > Flying, so that’s why this set deserves to exist. However, still,
- I will mention this problem in overview, and
- I will mention Scarf in OO.

QC, any thoughts on this?

I would normally account on Ice > Flying's better offensive coverage, but this is between Kyurem-W and Mega Rayquaza. Even if the target is neutral specs mega ray's power is at the point where it doesn't care about what comes in - the pokemon that is on the table 2hkos av pogre and registeel too, after some chip so it doesn't really care about what kind of pokemon comes in as long as it is faster. Kyurem-W is a good wallbreaker with specs of its own but I felt that mega ray is a superior option here. But I too would say QC's input here is going to be important.

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN
[OVERVIEW]

* The combination of its Ice typing, immense Special Attack, and above average Speed makes Kyurem-W an extremely powerful wallbreaker when it uses Refrigerate, OHKOing almost every neutral foe with Specs Boomburst, and 2HKOing pretty much everything else.
* Its decent bulk and Dragon typing give it some useful resistances to elemental moves not really sure what this means, giving it many opportunities to switch in against weaker opponents. switching in kyuw to stuff is a p bad idea, a lot of the meta either can hit it hard, cripple it or just not get ohkoed by it. i'd take this out or back it up better
* Unfortunately, its weaknesses really hold it back, making it weak to offensive and defensive attacks alike. merge this w/ the next bullet, wont make it different in para form but easier for the next qc check
* For example, its weaknesses to Dragon, Fairy, and Fighting allow offensive Pokemon to force it out quite easily, as almost every offensive Pokemon carries coverage in one of those types.
* Defensively, it struggles to find opportunities to switch in, as its weaknesses to common support attacks such as Core Enforcer and Anchor Shot prevent it from coming in to break down the very same walls it's supposed to break down. also mention how koff and glare/nuzzle/etc can inconvenience it
* Additionally, it takes super effective damage from Stealth Rock and is worn down really easily by entry hazards, which limits the mobility and momentum it needs to function most effectively, and puts it within easy KO range of a lot even neutral powerful attacks.
* Also, it's not quite fast enough to be a pure offensive threat, so it is really only confined to a wallbreaking role.
* Finally, it faces a lot of competition from Mega Rayquaza as a Choice Specs -ate user, as, though Ice is better offensively than Flying, Mega Rayquaza has slightly better stats and is much more unpredictable. also it's a better user of espeed (or a user of espeed at all) that grants it better rking utility
* Still, its bulk usually allows it to survive one non-super effective attack from offensive threats like MMY mmy will really often carry coverage for it to the point where id just replace it and Mega Gengar entrain being a thing and it almost always having set up beforehand or having sleep makes this a weird example too, replace or remove, letting it respond back harshly with Boomburst. And, despite these flaws, Kyurem-W still sees widespread use thanks to its raw power anyway, and can be a very potent threat with the right support. idk if this last part is filler or not but if it is remove it

Moves
========
* Boomburst is Kyurem-W's main STAB move, and is quite easily spammable with few repercussions. Boosted by Refrigerate, Choice Specs, and STAB, it is immensely powerful and cuts through many of the metagame's tanks and walls alike.give examples of the kos it achieves imo
* The second slot is typically used for coverage, specifically to hit Steel-types. Blue Flare is the most reliable, as it combines power with coverage against every non-Flash Fire Steel-type.
* Earth Power can also be used, as it trades power for accuracy and the ability to hit grounded Flash Fire Steel-types.
* Secret Sword is another option, as despite having the lowest base power of the three, it is the most reliable, hitting every common Steel-type bar Aegislash. It also hits Mega Gyarados, and attacks on the physical side, complementing Kyurem-W's special power well. hitting regenvesters that resist bb harder is nice too
* The third slot is used for Dragon-type STAB attacks, mainly as a secondary power source outside of Boomburst. Draco Meteor, Clanging Scales, and Core Enforcer are all viable options here. The first is much more powerful but its Special Attack drop leaves Kyurem-W more vulnerable afterwards. The second is moderately powerful and makes Kyurem-W easier to Imposter-proof with Soundproof teammates, at the cost of dropping its Defense and making it easier to revenge kill, while also making it more difficult to take down opposing Soundproof Pokemon. Finally, the third provides reliability and no drawbacks at the cost of a significant amount of power.
* Last slot is used for utility. Switcheroo is a great option as this set is a very tempting lure for Soundproof and Steel-type walls that are very crippled by receiving Specs. It also removes Assault Vests and Eviolites, making it easier for Kyurem-W or its teammates to break down opposing walls. Moongeist Beam can be used to hit Shedinja, but it doesn't have much use otherwise. Finally, Volt Switch lets Kyurem-B pivot out, letting it maintain offensive momentum and keep up the pressure on its typical counters.
* Bolt Strike can be used over Dragon-type coverage to hit bulky Water-types, 2HKOing Assault Vest Primal Kyogre, Kyurem-W's best counter. However, it is relatively useless otherwise, and leaves Kyurem-W susceptible to being punished afterwards. this doesnt sound that good, i'd just relegate this to oo - kyuw doesnt have the moveslots to run this honestly
* Extreme Speed with a Special Defense-lowering nature just saying rash might be better here can also be used so Kyurem-W can act as a revenge killer. However, its Extreme Speed is quite weak compared to that of other typical -ates, and is risky to be locked into.

Set Details
========
* Refrigerate is a must, providing Kyurem-W with the immensely powerful boosted risk-free Ice-type Boomburst.
* Choice Specs amps up Kyurem-W's power, letting it secure important OHKOs against foes such as Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Mewtwo X, Regigigas, Xerneas, and Dialga. This makes Kyurem-W incredibly difficult to switch into. kyuw shouldnt be staying in against any of these bar like unboosted regigigas if it's set up, and none of these are switchins to kyuw. i'd replace these examples with stuff such as giratina, zygc etc
* Modest is the best nature as it further boosts Kyurem-W's power. Timid is also an option, but the extra Speed boost isn't particularly necessary as the only thing it achieves is the guaranteed outpacing of maximum investment base 90 Speed Pokemon, which are rare. i just wouldnt mention timid period as the only notable thing is does is beat +speed groudon which is a) rare and b) shouldnt stay in on kyub anyway

Usage Tips
========
* Kyurem-W exemplifies a hit-and-run playstyle, as it is immensely powerful and even has the bulk to come out on top in many 1-on-1 situations where it cannot OHKO the opponent, but is quite easily revenge killed by strong attackers or walled by defensive foes after it takes down an opposing Pokemon.
* Bring it in with slow pivot attacks, especially as the chip damage can sometimes be enough to bring would-be checks and counters into KO range, and Kyurem-W absolutely needs to conserve its health to take on foes such as Imposter Chansey, Xerneas, MMY, and Mega Gengar.
* Scout opposing Pokemon for support moves, especially Core Enforcer, as it both deals super effective damage and neuters Refrigerate, removing Kyurem-W's core source of power, and Knock Off, as it removes the Choice Specs, also removing a core source of Kyurem-W's power. Also, it does not fear status too much, but paralysis still hurts, preventing Kyurem-W from outspeeding and KOing base 90 Speed Pokemon such as Primal Groudon.
* Once in, it is vital that Kyurem-W commits itself to the correct move.
* Usually, Boomburst is a pretty riskless, absurdly powerful move, so it can generally be freely used. It can even 2HKO some typical Ice checks, such as 252/252+ Registeel and 252/252+ Solgaleo without Assault Vest, with some prior damage.
* Against safer situations where the opponent cannot deal much damage back, it might be a good idea to use a coverage move or Dragon STAB to nail potential Steel- and Water-type checks as they come in.
* Switcheroo can also be used to cripple counters as they come in, but this is generally only useful against more offensive teams where added power is unnecessary, or against teams that cannot break through said counters otherwise.
* Volt Switch is a great move early-game, as few Ground-types will switch in to block it id say no ground types period, and it can be used to scout for abilities like Soundproof on Pokemon coming in that would otherwise be unable to counter Kyurem-W. Maintaining offensive momentum is key to ensure the safest and fastest breaking down of opposing walls.
* Once a foe is successfully taken down, Kyurem-W will likely be forced out by revenge killers or confronted by walls that can handle the move it's locked into, so make sure to have a partner ready to handle them so momentum is not lost.

Team Options
========
* In order for itself to function most effectively, Kyurem-W needs a couple things--it needs slow pivoting support to pass it offensive momentum, it enjoys entry hazard support, letting it 2HKO virtually every single defensive counter with Boomburst, including Fur Coat Chansey and Registeel, it needs partners to Imposter-proof it, and it needs partners to confront eventual revenge killers.
* There are several viable Pokemon that can fulfill multiple roles at once. Bulky Steel-types such as Registeel, Aegislash, and Solgaleo pair extremely well with Kyurem-W, as they can pivot into it, set entry hazards, Imposter-proof it, and confront offensive checks such as Mega Diancie and Mega Rayquaza.
* Ghost-types also make great partners. In addition to the above, Kyurem-W almost absolutely requires a Shedinja counter, as even if Moongeist Beam is used, Shedinja is still one of the hardest counters to Kyurem-W, and will almost certainly result in lost momentum if Kyurem-W locks itself into any other move. Thus, Pokemon such as Giratina, Aegislash, and Mega Gengar also work well, especially as they can all also check Mega Mewtwo X, and Giratina and Aegislash can set hazards and provide slow pivoting support.
* Because defensive opponents need bulk-augmenting items such as Eviolite and Assault Vest to safely confront Kyurem-W, teammates that can remove such items with Knock Off, such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Audino, and Yveltal, pair with Kyurem-W well. RegenVest Mega Gyarados is also an effective partner to Imposter-proof Kyurem-W.
* In addition to all of this, Kyurem-W pairs really well with faster offensive Pokemon that enjoy having walls removed. In particular, MMY enjoys Steel-types being worn down, and MMX loves Zygarde-C and Giratina being kept in check. mention how these mons can also trouble the wallbreakers that give kyuw hell Stacking -ates is also a potent strategy, as the combination of Specs Refrigerate Kyurem-W and Specs Aerilate Mega Rayquaza can quickly wear down opposing Steel-types and blow through opposing defenses.
* Many physical attackers in the metagame especially appreciate Kyurem-W's powerful special coverage. Pokemon such as PH Regigigas and Primal Groudon form potent wallbreaking cores with Kyurem-W, as Regigigas can quite safely set up against most Steel-type for Kyurem-W, while Primal Groudon simply plows past them.
* Finally, Kyurem-W also needs entry hazard removal to prevent it from being worn down. Many of the defensive Steel- and Ghost-types mentioned are also viable Defoggers, and Mega Gengar can even switch in to absorb Toxic Spikes.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
========
* Icicle Plate / LO, mixed with BBurst / ESpeed / Bolt Strike / Blue Flare. But generally Specs is fine since it's so powerful already
* Choice Scarf, to KO a lot of frailer, faster offensive threats such as Mega Gengar and Mega Mewtwo X. However, it requires a lot of chip damage to effectively do so.
* Sheer Force with Ice Beam / Bolt Strike / Core Enforcer, but MMY and Kyurem-B do this better
* Contrary with V-create and Draco Meteor, but Mega Rayquaza does this better id remove this
snow warning specs blizzard set, has the advantage of beating shedinja and also removing sashes but it loses out on a lot of boomburst's power.

* Not much else

Checks and Counters
========

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Because Kyurem-W relies on Choice Specs for power, the biggest first step in countering it is predicting which move it will lock itself into. Bulky Ice-type resists like RegenVest Primal Kyogre are the best counters to Kyurem-W, especially if they are not hit super effectively by common coverage. Depending on its coverage, bulky Steel-types such as RegenVest Solgaleo, Registeel, and Aegislash can also check Kyurem-W. However, all three are at least 2HKOed by Blue Flare and Earth Power, and not even Steel-types can safely confront Kyurem-W without significant special bulk investment minor nitpick but technically everything will always be invested in spdef unless youre shed, so just say stuff with high special bulk. Regenerator regenvest is an okay term iirc and it's vest that makes these mons good checks to kyuw Pokemon are particular good at checking Kyurem-W, as they can generally safely switch in, scout what move it will lock itself into, and then switch again to the appropriate counter, healing off the damage in the process. Finally, with the right prediction and switches, Kyurem-W's low-PP coverage moves can be PP stalled out by bulkier teams, making it a lot easier to deal with.

**Soundproof**: Certain Soundproof Pokemon such as Mega Audino are immune to Kyurem-W's main attack, Boomburst, and with enough special bulk, can easily tank its coverage attacks. They must be wary of its Dragon-type coverage however, as traditional Soundproof users such as Mega Slowbro get 2HKOed.

**Imposter**: Kyurem-W is rarely self-Imposter-proof, so Eviolite Imposter Chansey is one of the best answers to it if it switches in for free or switches into a coverage move. However, it must be careful as it is cleanly 2HKOed by both Core Enforcer and Draco Meteor, and cannot OHKO back without chip damage or Draco Meteor. 252+ SpA Choice Specs Kyurem-White Draco Meteor over 2 turns vs. +1 252 HP / 252 SpD Kyurem-White: 604-714 (85.7 - 101.4%) -- 87.5% chance to 2HKO draco isn't great

However, it must also be careful of the 20% burn chance from Blue Flare. tbh i wouldnt mention this as w/ the accuracy it's more like a 0.17 chance, just say kyuw only needs to geist once for shed to die so it has to be scared of that

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Kyurem-W is fairly slow, so plenty of other offensive Pokemon outspeed it and can put it out of commission. Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Rayquaza, and Mega Diancie can easily OHKO Kyurem-W before it can attack. However, thanks to Kyurem-W's bulk, it is difficult to OHKO without using a powerful STAB super effective attack, so chip damage is required when relying on coverage moves from Pokemon such as Mega Mewtwo Y and Mega Gengar, and even STAB moves from weaker Pokemon such as Xerneas.

**Entry Hazards**: Kyurem-W is easily worn down by entry hazards as it takes super effective damage from Stealth Rock, is put on a quick timer by poison from Toxic Spikes, and relies on switching in order to maintain offensive momentum, exacerbating the problem.

Implemented the above, with a few notes:

"* Still, its bulk usually allows it to survive one non-super effective attack from offensive threats like MMY mmy will really often carry coverage for it to the point where id just replace it "
This was a mistake on my part, it's meant to be 'survive one even super effective attack from offensive threats like MMY...' so MMY is fine as an example here

"and Mega Gengar entrain being a thing and it almost always having set up beforehand or having sleep makes this a weird example too, replace or remove "
That's valid, the best next thing i could come up with was Dialga, but even that's shaky because of Doom Desire technically being an OHKO. Regigigas too but spore is still an issue. I could keep this at just MMY then I guess.

"* Boomburst is Kyurem-W's main STAB move, and is quite easily spammable with few repercussions. Boosted by Refrigerate, Choice Specs, and STAB, it is immensely powerful and cuts through many of the metagame's tanks and walls alike.give examples of the kos it achieves imo "
Done, mentioned Gira, Zyg-C, GPrimal, Dialga, and Mega TTar. There are others but those are the most important guaranteed OHKOs

"snow warning specs blizzard set, has the advantage of beating shedinja and also removing sashes but it loses out on a lot of boomburst's power. "
Put it in but im really doubtful about the effectiveness of this as it's so much weaker, which is the main point of the set. I dont really see Kyu-W taking on sash mons or shedninja anyway, and i guess you can switch in and out just to set hail, but it seems really niche.

overview

* The combination of its Ice typing, immense Special Attack, and above average Speed makes Kyurem-W an extremely powerful wallbreaker when it uses Refrigerate, OHKOing almost every neutral foe with Specs Boomburst, and 2HKOing pretty much everything else.
imo specify how he outruns the base 90 gang, this is super nice for outspeeding and ohkoing pdon gira etc
* Also, it's not quite fast enough to be a pure offensive threat, so it is really only confined to a wallbreaking role.
mention that its low speed also makes it slower than the majority of offensive threats (mmx mray diancie) which is really bad news because they just kill him
* Finally, it faces a lot of competition from Mega Rayquaza as a Choice Specs -ate user, as, though Ice is better offensively than Flying, Mega Rayquaza has slightly better stats and is much more unpredictable. For example, Mega Rayquaza is a much better user of Extreme Speed thanks to its much higher Attack stat, giving it additional revenge killing utility on top of its wallbreaking power.
espeed is a bad example here because mray has tons of different sets, this is what makes it more unpredictable while kyuw is generally confined to a one dimensional wallbreaker

in slot 2, earth power should be first slash, then blue flare, then magma storm (to kill shed and regenvest steels), finally the sword

ok why is slot 3 all dragon moves? this makes no sense, dragon stab is nowhere near mandatory on kyuw, it only really hits soundproof and ogre (who gets bopped by volt switch anyway). secondary steel coverage is good, secondary utility is good, u could even run freeze dry if u rly hate soundproof zyg and waters messing everything up. should be volt switch>freezedry>draco imo

slash knock in slot 4 so you can beat chansey and regenvest without losing ur specs. i think the play here is switcheroo>knock>volt switch>moongeist

moves

* Earth Power can also be used, as it trades power for accuracy and the ability to hit grounded Flash Fire Steel-types.
this is ur most reliable option because steela and ferro, the resists, die to boomburst
* Secret Sword is another option, as despite having the lowest base power of the three, it is the most reliable, hitting every common Steel-type bar Aegislash. It also hits Mega Gyarados, and attacks on the physical side, complementing Kyurem-W's special power well by hitting Regenvest users that resist Boomburst hard.
also hits non imposter chansey (non fc really hates it but fc doesnt exactly enjoy it either)
Finally, Volt Switch lets Kyurem-B pivot out, letting it maintain offensive momentum and keep up the pressure on its typical counters.
also hits waters
Switcheroo is a great option as this set is a very tempting lure for Soundproof and Steel-type walls that are very crippled by receiving Specs.
this move is kinda risky to run i wont lie, it lets scarf imposter trick your imposter proofer, plus many soundproofers run zmove so it leaves you walled

usage tips

* Usually, Boomburst is a pretty riskless, absurdly powerful move, so it can generally be freely used. It can even 2HKO some typical Ice checks, such as 252/252+ Registeel and 252/252+ Solgaleo without Assault Vest, with some prior damage.
say "you can chip down these guys with your teammates to put em in range of 2 boombursts"
* Against safer situations where the opponent cannot deal much damage back, it might be a good idea to use a coverage move or Dragon STAB to nail potential Steel- and Water-type checks as they come in.
volt switch is also fine here

team options

could run ur own shed to imposter proof + provide pivoting

regenvest is pretty fun because they handle momentum well and they can also imposter proof if ur not running knock.

ph consumes status and knock and also gets momentum. ph mmx in particular forms a pretty great core with kyuw

other options

* On Choice Specs, Bolt Strike can be used over Dragon-type coverage to hit bulky Water-types, 2HKOing Assault Vest Primal Kyogre, Kyurem-W's best counter. However, it is relatively useless otherwise, and leaves Kyurem-W susceptible to being punished afterwards.
this is stupid why would i run it over volt switch or even knock
* Sheer Force with Ice Beam / Bolt Strike / Core Enforcer, but MMY and Kyurem-B do this better
what is even the point of this set besides the novelty value
* The Choice Specs set can also use Snow Warning + Blizzard instead of Refrigerate + Boomburst, as Snow Warning chip damage can help break Focus Sash, wear down walls, and, more importantly, defeat Sturdy Shedinja. However, this amounts to over a 1/3 drop in power.
see above. im really not feeling this one either, the spammability of boomburst is one of kyuws best traits and this just removes that. i could maybe see this working with like leftovers/icium z/icy rock even, but with specs its pretty inferior to refrigerate.

Finally, with the right prediction and switches, Kyurem-W's low-PP coverage moves can be PP stalled out by bulkier teams, making it a lot easier to deal with.
add fc chans here it can lose to hazards but is generally a pretty solid counter if kept healthy
**Imposter**: Kyurem-W is rarely self-Imposter-proof, so Eviolite Imposter Chansey is one of the best answers to it if it switches in for free or switches into a coverage move. However, it must be careful as it is cleanly 2HKOed by Clanging Scales and has a very high chance of being 2HKOed by both Core Enforcer and Draco Meteor, and cannot OHKO back without chip damage or Draco Meteor.
honestly remove this, imposter is a pretty horrible switchin and doesnt even ohko unless youre running draco

this is pretty good, qc 2/3

[OVERVIEW]

The combination of its Ice typing, immense Special Attack, and above average Speed makes Kyurem-W an extremely powerful Refrigerate wallbreaker, outspeeding the saturated base 90 Speed tier and OHKOing almost every neutral foe with Specs Boomburst and 2HKOing pretty much everything else. Its decent bulk and Dragon typing also give it a few useful resistances, making it difficult for defensive Pokemon to wear it down without the right coverage. Unfortunately, it's weak offensive and defensive attacks alike i dont know what this segment is trying to say. maybe youre missing a "to", and is forced out by offensive Pokemon quite easily, as almost every offensive Pokemon they usually carry carries super effective coverage against it like what? should probably also mention that it's because of its ice and dragon typing specifically since you earlier talked about its dragon type being somewhat advantageous. e.g "however its dragon type in combination with ice leads it to be weak to common offense/defense moves alike" and probably merge with the next sentence. It also struggles to find opportunities to switch in, as its weaknesses to common support attacks such as Core Enforcer and Anchor Shot prevent it from coming in to break down the very same walls it's supposed to break down. Also, its reliance on its item makes it susceptible to being crippled by Knock Off i think "crippled" is too strong. without its item it's not a dead slot. maybe "hampered" and then point to why i.e. ohko -> 2hko, 2hko -> 3hko, and it is easily hindered by paralysis from Glare or Nuzzle this is true of almost any offensive mon. i think this can be removed or rephrased to how it's vulnerable to all statuses. Additionally, it takes super effective damage from Stealth Rock and is worn down easily by entry hazards this part should come first, then talk about SE SR, which limits the mobility and momentum it needs to function most effectively, and puts it within easy KO range of a lot of even neutral powerful attacks. Also, it's not quite fast enough to be a pure offensive threat, so it is really only confined to a wallbreaking role, as it's easily outsped by the majority of offensive threats such as Mega Diancie, Mega Mewtwo X, and Mega Rayquaza, all of which can threaten to KO it. Finally, it faces a lot of competition from Mega Rayquaza as a Choice Specs -ate user, as, though Ice is better offensively than Flying, Mega Rayquaza has slightly better stats and is much more unpredictable bring this back with the previous point about speed . For example, Mega Rayquaza is a much better user of Extreme Speed thanks to its much higher Attack stat, giving it additional revenge killing utility on top of its wallbreaking power, and it can also run a multitude of other powerful, viable sets that make it difficult to immediately counter. Still, its bulk usually allows it to survive one even super effective attack from some offensive threats like Mega Mewtwo Y and Dialga, letting it respond back harshly with Boomburst.

Moves
========
Boomburst is Kyurem-W's main STAB move, and is quite easily spammable with few repercussions. Boosted by Refrigerate, Choice Specs, and STAB, it is immensely powerful and cuts through many of the metagame's tanks and walls alike, including Giratina, Zygarde, Groudon-Primal, Dialga, and Mega Tyranitar hooh. Alternatively, Magma Storm can be used for less reliability but the ability to beat Shedinja and RegenVest Steel-types how does magma beat regenvest steels in a way the others do not? sword would seem the better option for that. i would move that to the next line and make that point stronger. Secret Sword is another option, as despite having the lowest base power of the three, it is the most reliable, hitting every common Steel-type bar Aegislash. It also hits Mega Gyarados, and attacks on the physical side, complementing Kyurem-W's special power well by hitting Regenvest users that resist Boomburst and non-Imposter Chansey specify FC and then "other non-imposter chansey sets" hard. The third slot is for additional coverage. Volt Switch lets Kyurem-B pivot out, letting it maintain offensive momentum and keep up the pressure on its typical counters while also dealing sizable damage to Water-types. Freeze-Dry specifically beats Water-types such as Primal Kyogre and Mega Gyarados also lets it use its stab even if its ability is negated e.g. against giratina . Draco Meteor is a powerful secondary STAB move, but its Special Attack drop leaves Kyurem-W more vulnerable afterwards. The last slot is mainly used for utility. Switcheroo is a great option as this set is a very tempting lure for Soundproof and Steel-type walls that are very crippled by receiving Specs. It also removes Assault Vests and Eviolites, making it easier for Kyurem-W or its teammates to break down opposing walls. However, it makes it more difficult to Imposter-proof against Choice Scarf Imposter mention why, and fails against common Z-move Soundproof users. Knock Off is another option to remove items without forcing Kyurem-W to lose its Choice Specsgood surprise option for av users and fc chan. mention clearly. Moongeist Beam can be used to hit Shedinja, but it doesn't have much use otherwise rephrase, Moongeist can be used if youd like better mu against shed, i dont think you should say an option in the main set "doesnt have much use", also it hits slowbro and giratina . Finally, Extreme Speed with a Rash nature can also be used so Kyurem-W can act as a revenge killer. However, its Extreme Speed is quite weak compared to that of other typical -ates, and is risky to be locked into.

Refrigerate is a must, providing Kyurem-W with the immensely powerful boosted risk-free Ice-type Boomburst. Choice Specs amps up Kyurem-W's power, letting it secure important OHKOs against bulky foes such as Giratina, Zygarde-C, Mega Audino, and Dialga, as well as 2HKOs against extremely bulkynecroDM and regi are not bulkier than giratina as the "extremely" implies; "2hko's bulky resists and fc chansey" should be fine foes such as Necrozma-DM and Aegislash, and Registeel and Fur Coat Chansey after Stealth Rock. This makes Kyurem-W incredibly difficult to switch into. Modest is the best nature as it further boosts Kyurem-W's power. The extra Speed boost from Timid isn't particularly necessary as the only thing it achieves is the guaranteed outpacing of maximum investment base 90 Speed Pokemon, which are rare, and would not stay in anyway.

Usage Tips
========
Kyurem-W exemplifies a hit-and-run playstyle, as it is immensely powerful and even has the bulk to come out on top in many 1-on-1 situations where it cannot OHKO the opponent, but is quite easily revenge killed by faster or stronger strong attackers or walled by defensive foes after it takes down an opposing Pokemon. Scout opposing Pokemon for support moves, especially Core Enforcer, as it both deals super effective damage and neuters Refrigerate, removing Kyurem-W's core source of power, and Knock Off, as it removes the Choice Specs, also removing a core source of Kyurem-W's power i think there is repetition here, could probably say "cores of power" once. Also, it does not fear status too much why? you just pointed out how it needs to conserve its hp from chips and sleep will make it a sitting duck since attackers are going to outspeed modest. you also point this out later with the tspikes discussion and for support moves, but paralysis still hurts, preventing Kyurem-W from outspeeding and KOing base 90 Speed Pokemon such as Primal Groudon. Once in, it is vital that Kyurem-W commits itself to the correct move. Usually, Boomburst is a pretty riskless, absurdly powerful move, so it can generally be freely used. Even Ice checks such as 252/252+ Registeel and 252/252+ Solgaleo can be chipped into 2HKO range with the help of teammates. Against safer situations where the opponent cannot deal much damage back or when you know they are about to switch/low hp where a coverage move would still ko them, it might be a good idea to use a coverage move or Dragon STAB to nail potential Steel- and Water-type checks as they come in, or use Volt Switch to pivot out into a teammate bring this with your earlier point, use volt switch to scout for things like core and knock off. Switcheroo can also be used to cripple counters as they come in, but this is generally only useful against more offensive teams where added power is unnecessary, or against teams that cannot break through said counters otherwise. Volt Switch is a great move early-game, as no Ground-types will switch in to block it, and it can be used to scout for abilities like Soundproof on Pokemon coming in that would otherwise be unable to counter Kyurem-W see earlier point about having it earlier with the core and koff point.

Ghost-types also make great partners the next line should either be combined with this one or put first. A Shedinja of your own can also be used to Imposter-proof non trick Kyurem-W as well as provide pivoting to bring it in safely. Because defensive opponents need bulk-augmenting items such as Eviolite and Assault Vest to safely confront Kyurem-W, teammates that can remove such items with Knock Off, such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Audino, and Yveltal, pair with Kyurem-W well. RegenVest Mega Gyarados is also an effective partner to Imposter-proof Kyurem-W. In fact, a RegenVest user of your own can provide momentum and tank hits, as well as Imposter-proof Kyurem-W without Knock Off. In addition to all of this, Kyurem-W pairs really well with faster offensive Pokemon that enjoy having walls removed i feel like this could be phrased better, every offensive mon would want their walls removed. maybe just add "that kyuW can handle" and shorten/combine with next sentence. In particular, Mega Mewtwo Y enjoys Steel-types being worn down while this is ok i dont think your offensive mons should all be walled by the same thing as it makes the loss in specs even more damaging, i would put less emphasis on this and put m2x first or if you want to talk about m2y mention how it can tackle chan and dialga, not all steel types, and Mega Mewtwo X loves Zygarde-C and Giratina being kept in check. They can also check and force out more offensive, wallbreaking opponents that limit opportunities for Kyurem-W to come in. Stacking -ates is also a potent strategy, as the combination of Specs Refrigerate Kyurem-W and Specs Aerilate Mega Rayquaza can quickly wear down opposing Steel-types mention how ther eis often only one ate check, that's why they can "gang up" and blow through opposing defenses. Many physical attackers in the metagame especially appreciate Kyurem-W's powerful special coverage. Pokemon such as PH Regigigas and Primal Groudon form potent wallbreaking cores with Kyurem-W, as Regigigas can quite safely set up against most Steel-type for Kyurem-W, while Primal Groudon simply plows past them. Poison Heal physical attackers work especially well, helping to shrug off status moves and Knock Off while also garnering momentum and switch ins for Kyurem-W. Poison Heal Mega Mewtwo X excels in this particularly. Finally, Kyurem-W also needs entry hazard removal to prevent it from being worn down. Many of the defensive Steel- and Ghost-types mentioned are also viable Defoggers, and Mega Gengar can even switch in to absorb Toxic Spikes.need a partner for sproof like arceus or slowbro

Other Options
========
Icicle Plate and Life Orb are options on the Refrigerate set, along with a mixed movepool of Boomburst, Extreme Speed, Bolt Strike, and Blue Flare. Generally, however, Choice Specs is more than powerful enough. Choice Scarf is also an option to KO a lot of frailer, faster offensive threats such as Mega Gengar and Mega Mewtwo X both mega mewtwos, mega ray. However, it requires a lot of chip damage to effectively do so.

Checks and Counters
========

However, all three are at least 2HKOed by Blue Flare and Earth Power, and not even Steel-types can safely confront Kyurem-W without high special bulk. this should be where you talk about kyogre as that is also av. then you can maybe segue regenvest dialga to other steel types RegenVest Pokemon are particularly good at checking Kyurem-W, as they can generally safely switch in, scout what move it will lock itself into, and then switch again to the appropriate counter, healing off the damage in the process, and have their special bulk augmented by the assault vest. Fur Coat Chansey also serves as a decent counter, as though it can lose to hazards and chip damage, it has the bulk to shrug off most hits simplify this to "it can tank at full" otherwise boom does 43 and sword does 38. Finally, with the right prediction and switches, Kyurem-W's low-PP coverage moves can be PP stalled out by bulkier teams, making it a lot easier to deal with.again something that i think can be clarified better. i think you are trying to say that you want to take advantage of its choice locked nature combined with its low pp cause otherwise you can say this again about any mu. if you 100% the predicts then you can stall any offense mon but that's unlikely

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Kyurem-W is fairly slow especially when it runs modest, so plenty of other offensive Pokemon outspeed it and can put it out of commission.

[OVERVIEW]

The combination of its Ice typing, immense Special Attack, and above average Speed makes Kyurem-W an extremely powerful Refrigerate wallbreaker, outpacing the saturated base 90 Speed tier while also OHKOing almost every neutral foe with Choice Specs Boomburst and 2HKOing pretty much everything else. Its decent bulk and Dragon typing also give it a few useful resistances (RC) courtesy of its Dragon typing also making make (bulk doesn't give it resistances, only the typing does bleh nitpicking) it difficult for defensive Pokemon to wear down without the right coverage. Unfortunately, its typing still makes it easily forced out by offensive Pokemon, which usually happen to carry super effective coverage against it, as well as defensive threats, which limit its opportunities to switch in with common super effective attacks such as Core Enforcer and Anchor Shot. Also, it is hindered by status, (AC) and its reliance on its item, which to secure some crucial OHKOs and 2HKOs makes it susceptible to being hampered by Knock Off as without Choice Specs it loses out on some crucial OHKOs and 2HKOs. Additionally, it is easily worn down by entry hazards and takes super effective damage from Stealth Rock, which limits its momentum and puts it within easy KO range of many even neutral powerful attacks. Also, it's not quite fast enough for pure offense, (AC) as it's outsped and forced out by major threats such as Mega Diancie, Mega Mewtwo X, and Mega Rayquaza, confining it to a wallbreaking role. Finally, it faces a lot of competition from Mega Rayquaza as a Choice Specs -ate user, as, though Ice typing is better offensively than Flying, Mega Rayquaza has better stats and is much more unpredictable thanks to its better Speed tier. For example, Mega Rayquaza is a better user of Extreme Speed thanks to its much higher Attack stat, giving it additional revenge killing utility on top of its wallbreaking power, and it can also run a multitude of other powerful, viable sets that make it difficult to immediately counter. Still, Kyurem-W's bulk is enough to allow it to survive one even super effective attack from some offensive threats like Mega Mewtwo Y and Dialga, letting it respond back harshly ("respond harshly" weird word choice tbh, could just do "hit back hard") with Boomburst.

Moves
========
Boomburst is Kyurem-W's main STAB move (RC) and is quite easily spammable with few repercussions. Boosted by Refrigerate, Choice Specs, and STAB, it is immensely powerful and cuts through many of the metagame's tanks and walls alike, including Giratina, Zygarde, (-C?) Primal Groudon-Primal, Dialga, Ho-Oh, and Mega Tyranitar. Alternatively, Magma Storm can be used for less is an option that trades (repetition, some awkwardness) reliability but for the ability to beat Shedinja and RegenVest Steel-types thanks to its trapping and residual damage. Secret Sword is another option, as despite having the lowest Base Power of the three, it is the most reliable, hitting every common Steel-type bar Aegislash. It also hits Mega Gyarados (RC) and attacks on the physical side inflicts physical damage, complementing Kyurem-W's special power well by hitting RegenVest users that resist Boomburst and Fur Coat and other non-Imposter Chansey even harder than Magma Storm. The third slot is for additional coverage. Volt Switch lets Kyurem-B pivot out, letting it maintain offensive momentum and keep up the pressure on its typical counters while also dealing sizable damage to Water-types. Freeze-Dry specifically beats Water-types such as Primal Kyogre and Mega Gyarados (RC) and grants Kyurem-W a STAB move to use even if its ability is nullified, for example against Giratina. Draco Meteor is a powerful secondary STAB move, but its Special Attack drop leaves Kyurem-W vulnerable afterwards. The last slot is mainly used for utility. Switcheroo is a great option, (AC) as this set is a very tempting lure for Soundproof and Steel-type walls that are very crippled by receiving Choice Specs. It also removes Assault Vests and Eviolites, making it easier for Kyurem-W or its teammates to break down opposing walls. However, it makes it Kyurem-W more difficult to Imposter-proof against Choice Scarf Imposter users, as they can take advantage of it to Switcheroo their Choice Scarf onto your Imposter-proof Pokemon, and fails against common Z-Crystal Soundproof users. Extreme Speed with a Rash nature can also be used with a Rash nature so Kyurem-W can act as a revenge killer. However, its Extreme Speed is quite weak compared to that of other typical -ate users and is risky to be locked into. Knock Off is another option to remove items without forcing Kyurem-W to lose its Choice Specs, surprising and crippling Assault Vest users and Fur Coat Chansey. Finally, Moongeist Beam can be used for a better matchup against Shedinja (RC) and also hits to hit Mega Slowbro and Giratina for decent damage.

Set Details

Refrigerate is a must, providing Kyurem-W with the immensely powerful boosted risk-free Ice-type Boomburst. Choice Specs amps up Kyurem-W's power, letting it secure important OHKOs against bulky foes such as Giratina, Zygarde-C, Mega Audino, and Dialga, as well as 2HKOs against bulky resists Pokemon that resist Boomburst and Fur Coat Chansey after Stealth Rock. This makes Kyurem-W incredibly difficult to switch into. Modest is the best nature, (AC) as it further boosts Kyurem-W's power. The extra Speed boost from Timid isn't particularly necessary, (AC) as the only thing it achieves is the guaranteed outpacing of maximum investment base 90 Speed Pokemon, which are rare (RC) and would not stay in anyway.

Usage Tips
========
Kyurem-W exemplifies a hit-and-run playstyle, as it is immensely powerful and even has the bulk to come out on top in many 1-on-1 one-on-one situations where it cannot OHKO the opponent, target but is quite easily revenge killed by faster or stronger attackers or walled by defensive foes after it takes down an opposing Pokemon. Use Volt Switch to scout opposing Pokemon for support moves, especially Core Enforcer and Knock Off, the former of which deals super effective damage and neuters Refrigerate, and the latter of which removes Choice Specs, both stifling a core source of Kyurem-W's power. Also, though it is not completely stopped by status, Kyurem-W should still avoid paralysis, which prevents it from outspeeding and KOing base 90 Speed Pokemon such as Primal Groudon. Once in, it is vital that Kyurem-W commits commit itself to the correct move. Boomburst is a pretty riskless, powerful move, so it can generally be freely used. Even Ice checks such as specially defensive Registeel and Solgaleo can be chipped into 2HKO range with the help of teammates. In safer situations where it is unlikely the opponent will deal much damage back, it might be a good idea to use a coverage move or a Dragon STAB attack to nail potential Steel- and Water-type checks as they come in (RC) or use Volt Switch to pivot out into to a teammate. Switcheroo can also be used to cripple counters as they come in, but this is generally only useful against more offensive teams where added power is unnecessary (RC) or when Kyurem-W's team cannot break through said counters otherwise.

========
In order for itself to function most effectively, Kyurem-W appreciates slow pivoting to pass it offensive momentum; (SC) entry hazard support and control, letting it to 2HKO virtually every single defensive counter with Boomburst, including Fur Coat Chansey and Registeel, without having to be worn down itself; (SC) and partners to Imposter-proof it, absorb status, and confront eventual revenge killers. There are several viable Pokemon that can fulfill multiple roles at once. Bulky Steel-types such as Registeel, Aegislash, and Solgaleo pair extremely well with Kyurem-W, as they can pivot into out to it, set entry hazards, Imposter-proof it, and confront offensive checks such as Mega Diancie and Mega Rayquaza. Because defensive opponents foes need bulk-augmenting items such as Eviolite and Assault Vest to safely confront Kyurem-W, teammates that can remove such items with Knock Off, such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Audino, and Yveltal, pair with Kyurem-W well. RegenVest Mega Gyarados is also an effective partner to Imposter-proof Kyurem-W. In fact, a RegenVest user of your own can provide momentum and tank hits, as well as Imposter-proof Kyurem-W without Knock Off. (can probably merge these two sentences tbh) In addition to all of this, Kyurem-W pairs really well with faster offensive Pokemon that capitalize upon its wallbreaking power. In particular, Mega Mewtwo X loves Zygarde-C and Giratina being kept in check, and Mega Mewtwo Y enjoys Dialga, Fur Coat Chansey, and Steel-types being worn down. They can also check and force out more offensive, wallbreaking opponents foes that limit opportunities for Kyurem-W to come in. Pokemon such as PH Poison Heal Regigigas and Primal Groudon form potent wallbreaking cores with Kyurem-W, as Regigigas can quite safely set up against most Steel-types while Primal Groudon simply plows past them. Poison Heal physical attackers such as Mega Mewtwo X work especially well, helping to shrug off status moves and Knock Off while also garnering momentum and safe switches in for Kyurem-W. Finally, many of the aforementioned Pokemon, including Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Gyarados, can also tackle Soundproof walls like Arceus and Mega Slowbro (RC) so Kyurem-W can spam Boomburst without fear.

Other Options
========

========

Fur Coat Chansey also serves as a decent counter, as though it can lose to entry hazards and chip damage,(RC) it can reliably tank hits when at full health,(AC) though it can lose to entry hazards and chip damage.

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Kyurem-W is fairly slow,(AC) especially as it normally runs a Modest nature, so plenty of other offensive Pokemon such as Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Rayquaza, and Mega Diancie outspeed it and can put it out of commission before it can attack. However, thanks to Kyurem-W's bulk, it is difficult to OHKO without using a powerful STAB super effective STAB attack, so chip damage is required when relying on coverage moves from Pokemon such as Mega Mewtwo Y and Mega Gengar and even STAB moves from weaker Pokemon such as Xerneas.

[OVERVIEW]

The combination of its Ice typing, immense Special Attack, and above-(AH)average Speed makes Kyurem-W an extremely powerful Refrigerate wallbreaker, outpacing the saturated base 90 Speed tier while also OHKOing almost every neutral foe with Choice Specs Boomburst and 2HKOing pretty much everything else. Also, it Kyurem-W is hindered by status, and its reliance on its item to secure some crucial OHKOs and 2HKOs makes it susceptible to Knock Off. Finally, it Kyurem-W faces a lot of competition from Mega Rayquaza as a Choice Specs -ate user, as, though an Ice typing is better offensively than Flying, Mega Rayquaza has better stats and is much more unpredictable thanks to its better Speed tier.

Moves
========
Boomburst is Kyurem-W's main STAB move and is quite easily spammable with few repercussions. Freeze-Dry specifically beats Water-types such as Primal Kyogre and Mega Gyarados and grants Kyurem-W a STAB move to use even if its ability is nullified, for example against a Pokemon like Giratina. However, it makes Kyurem-W more difficult to Imposter-proof against Choice Scarf users,(AC) as they can take advantage of it to Switcheroo their Choice Scarf onto your Imposter-proof Pokemon, and fails against common Z-Crystal Soundproof users (maybe mention some examples?).

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========
Use Volt Switch to scout opposing Pokemon for support moves, especially Core Enforcer and Knock Off, the former of which deals super effective damage and neuters Refrigerate,(RC) and the latter of which removes Choice Specs, both stifling a core source of Kyurem-W's power. In safer situations where it is unlikely the opponent foe will deal much damage back, it might be a good idea to use a coverage move or a Dragon STAB attack to nail potential Steel- and Water-type checks as they come in or use Volt Switch to pivot out to a teammate.

========
