[OVERVIEW]

Kyurem, while uncommon in the OU tier, is a strong special wallbreaker able to threaten a number of Pokemon with its great STAB moves that are difficult to switch into, such as Clefable, which gets 2HKOed by Ice Beam. Despite facing competition from Kyurem-B as a wallbreaker, as its ability is not as useful as Kyurem-B's Teravolt as well as being unable to run Roost due to needing Choice Specs, it has a higher Special Attack stat than its counterpart, allowing it to run a Choice Specs set more viably. Good bulk along with valuable resistances to Water, Electric, and Grass moves allows it to check threats such as Rotom-W, Manaphy, Serperior, and Mega Manectric. However, weaknesses to common types such as Fighting and Rock with a vulnerability to all types of entry hazard, mainly Stealth Rock, can limit its ability to switch in, and its Speed, although not bad, leaves Kyurem outsped by a number of threats sitting at the base 100 Speed benchmark.

Moves
========

Ice Beam is a strong STAB move that doesn't come with any drawbacks, making it a safe option in general and allowing Kyurem to 2HKO relevant targets such as Clefable. Draco Meteor is Kyurem's hardest hitting STAB move, dealing great damage to Pokemon that resist Ice, mainly Water-types such as Rotom-W, Slowbro, and Keldeo. Earth Power provides great coverage in smacking Steel-types that resist Kyurem's STAB combination, such as Heatran, Jirachi, and Mega Metagross; it is also Kyurem's best move to hit Azumarill with. Hidden Power Fire completes its coverage by being able to hit Mega Scizor, which can generally take the rest of Kyurem's moves and threaten it with a strong STAB Bullet Punch. Focus Blast is another good coverage move, being able to OHKO Tyranitar while still netting good coverage against Ferrothorn and having a good chance to 2HKO standard Mega Scizor if running a Timid nature.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack EVs bolster the power of Kyurem's special moves. Choice Specs lets Kyurem act as a strong special wallbreaker with the drawback of locking it into one move. Maximum Speed with a Timid nature allows Kyurem to outspeed threats such as Jolly Excadrill out of sand and Adamant Mega Medicham. A Modest nature is usually not necessary, as maximum Special Attack investment with a Timid nature is enough to 2HKO both standard Calm Clefable and have a strong chance to 2HKO Ferrothorn after Stealth Rock with Ice Beam. Being able to outspeed Excadrill and Mega Medicham while still achieving a 2HKO on both Clefable and Ferrothorn is what gives Kyurem an edge over Choice Specs Kyurem-B, which fails to achieve the 2HKO most of the time with Timid itself.

Usage Tips
========

Removing entry hazards is helpful so that Kyurem can utilize its bulk to switch in more often without having to worry about residual damage. Pairing Kyurem with partners that can bring it in through the use of Volt Switch or U-turn helps it come in safely without having to fear strong attacks it might not be able to switch into directly. Generally, Kyurem should be used as an early-game wallbreaker to punch holes into opposing teams. It can switch into weak Water, Grass, and Electric attacks thanks to its good bulk and retaliate, and it can also be brought in on double switches as well as passive Pokemon such as Skarmory. Ice Beam is the most spammable move to use, dealing a large chunk to a wide variety of threats, and it can help your team handle threats such as Clefable, as it will not be as willing to switch into Kyurem predicting Draco Meteor due to the fear of being 2HKOed by Ice Beam. Draco Meteor is also very useful to take out threats that can take more than one Ice Beam, such as Slowbro and Rotom-W, and can even deal heavy damage to Pokemon that resist it, mainly Steel-types such as Jirachi, thus limiting their ability to switch into Kyurem again, as Draco Meteor is mainly meant to be used as a hit-and-run move; however, be wary of using it with a Fairy-type on the opposing team, as it can gain momentum if Kyurem locks itself into it. If a Steel-type is on the opposing team, you can either stick to using Kyurem's STAB moves to wear it down, or predict the switch in with its coverage moves, although getting locked into the wrong coverage move can give the opponent free momentum, so be careful.

Team Options
========

Choice Band Tyranitar pairs well with Kyurem, as it helps deal heavy damage to Chansey while being able to trap faster threats such as Latios for Kyurem. Starmie is a great option that can handle threats such as Mega Diancie for Kyurem while also dealing with Keldeo, as well as providing Rapid Spin support. Latios appreciates Kyurem's ability to take out Clefable and provides Kyurem with entry hazard removal and the ability to handle problematic threats such as Keldeo; however, given that Kyurem prefers having entry hazard support, particularly Spikes, Rapid Spin is usually a better hazard control option. Heatran is able to pressure Steel-types, set up Stealth Rock, and provide Toxic support against the likes of Slowking. Landorus-T provides Stealth Rock support and a slow U-turn while being able to handle Excadrill, which can prove to be a major threat to Kyurem under sand, and Landorus-T in return appreciates Kyurem's ability to handle Electric-, Water-, and Grass-types for it. Garchomp fulfills a similar role minus the U-turn support while being able to take on many problematic threats to Kyurem that sit at the base 100 Speed tier such as Mega Gardevoir and Charizard. Rotom-W also checks Excadrill, Mega Scizor, and other threats such as Jirachi thanks to Will-O-Wisp and provides slow pivoting support for Kyurem, while in return it appreciates having Grass-types taken out.

Steel-type partners such as Jirachi, Ferrothorn, Skarmory, as well as Mega Metagross and Mega Scizor serve as great partners due to their ability to handle Fairies for Kyurem. Jirachi can provide Stealth Rock support, pivot with U-turn, and pass Wishes or Healing Wishes in case Kyurem gets worn down too much, with Healing Wish, in particular, being very helpful for Kyurem. Ferrothorn and Skarmory are able to set up Spikes, allowing it to more easily wallbreak against worn down foes, and Skarmory can also take on Excadrill under sand. Mega Scizor helps take out Mega Diancie and can also provide a slow U-turn, as well as being able to switch into Latios and Latias while also being able to provide Pursuit support. Metagross also provides Pursuit support with either a Mega or an Assault Vest set. Excadrill greatly appreciates Kyurem being able to threaten strong checks to it such as Landorus-T and Tangrowth, and Kyurem benefits from potential Rapid Spin support that Excadrill may provide. Stealth Rock Clefable is a notable partner, since it can get the hazard up against stall teams for Kyurem and can also provide Thunder Wave support for it.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Substitute + Roost can be a neat set on slower builds to utilize Pressure, Kyurem's good bulk, and its ability to create 101 HP Substitutes in order to PP stall foes, although Kyurem is better suited for being a special wallbreaker due to its hard-hitting STAB moves. Other offensive sets are done better by Kyurem-B due to Fusion Bolt and its ability to go mixed along with having Teravolt, which means it doesn't have to rely as much on prediction as Kyurem does.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Although they cannot directly switch into its coverage options, Steel-types, mainly Mega Scizor, Mega Metagross, and Jirachi can easily threaten Kyurem due to their strong STAB moves while also resisting its STAB combination. Excadrill is also an honorable mention; while it can't switch into Kyurem, threatens it with its strong Iron Heads.

**Chansey**: Threats such as Chansey can come in on Kyurem repeatedly due to taking little from its moves, being able to heal off any damage with Soft-Boiled, and being able to threaten Kyurem with a Toxic, which limits its time on the field, or a Thunder Wave, which can cripple it by making it slower than all of the threats that it is supposed to handle.

**Bulky Water-types**: Slowking deserves a mention due to being able to take Kyurem's attacks and recover off the damage while also being able to set up with Calm Minds; while it cannot switch directly into two Draco Meteors, it can safely switch into all of Kyurem's other moves and set up on it with ease. Suicune is able to handle Kyurem if running Rest in a one-on-one situation as well.

**Fighting-types**: Despite not being able to switch in easily, faster attackers like Terrakion, Keldeo, and Mega Lopunny are all able to take out Kyurem with their strong Fighting-type STAB moves.

**Fairy-types**: Threats such as Azumarill, Mega Diancie, and Clefable can all take advantage of a Kyurem locked into Draco Meteor and use their super effective STAB moves to take out Kyurem. Azumarill specifically can switch into all of Kyurem's moves except for Earth Power, although being locked into Earth Power can be easily taken advantage in other ways. However, Clefable cannot switch in directly into a Choice Specs-boosted Ice Beam and must take great care when playing around Kyurem.

**Faster Attackers**: Choice Scarf Tyranitar can switch into Kyurem's attacks barring Focus Blast and threaten it with Stone Edge. Faster Dragon-types such as Garchomp, Latios, and Mega Charizard X, in particular, threaten Kyurem with super effective STAB moves as well.

For C&C, adding Fighting Types (Keldeo, Medicham, Lopunny, etc), Rock Types (Tyranitar, Terrakion, Mega Aero), Fairy Types (Diancie, Gardevoir, Clef at +1), faster Dragon Types (Lat@as, Zard X, Hydreigon, etc), and just Specially Bulky Pokemon (CM Slowking beats it 1v1, etc), would be nice

I figured consolidating all of the threats faster than it (rock, fighting types in general) into Faster Attackers would be a good idea, you do have a point on the Fairy types and the specially bulky mons though

Banned deucer.
overview
kyurem struggles to check non-dpulse serp since they're usually subseed so yeah, say it checks elecs like manec and raikou instead
throw in a mention that although it lacks teravolt, the extra power makes it better than kyu-b for specs anyway.

moves
ice beam 2hkos clef, this is an important target for kyurem to hit and should be mentioned

set details + usage tips seems fine

team options
in the latios part, mention that latios appreciates kyurem being able to blow back clefable and common steel types with ice beam and proper prediction, respectively
steel types should have a generalised mention in that they can cover fairies for kyurem - spdef rach in particular can pass wishes, ferrothorn and skarmory can set spikes to bolster kyurems wallbreaking potential, while skarmory can cover excadrill in sand, mega scizor can pursuit the likes of latis and put additional pressure onto keldeo which is nice.

oo is fine

c&c

yeah i think you should put sections for the other types like fighting/rock/fairy/steel, i feel it would be better than faster attackers in this case because c&c as it is is a little bare, my opinion though, if you want to hold off on this until the next guy checks that's fine with me.

fighting types like terrak/lop/keld can all pick off kyurem but all struggle to switch in
rock types = mega diancie / scarf ttar, again they all struggle to switchin
fairies = gard/diancie/azu, fairies can switchin to draco meteor while azu can switch into anything but ep, but locking into ep can make kyu very easy to take advantage of
steels = mega sciz/megagross/scarf mag/ driller in sand/scarf+spdef rachi.

also everything in c&c needs to be tagged like **Steel-types**:, **Chansey**: etc.

1/3

You might want to mention Excadrill as a teammate, I am surprised you have not mentioned it. Kyurem puts a significant amount of pressure on Excadrill's checks and appreciates having Sand Rush Spin Excadrill for the pressure against faster mons and the spin bonus

Not QC.

Mention that Heatran is a good teammate as well. Although it shares a Fighting type weakness, it checks Scizor, Latios, and Latias, which are all threats to Kyurem. It also provides Stealth Rock support which helps Kyurem in the long run.

You mention Excadrill as a problematic threat for Kyurem, but in reality, Excadrill would also appreciate Kyurem as a teammate. Kyurem by nature targets most physically defensive Pokemon that give Excadrill trouble, primarily Tangrowth and Landorus-T, while Excadrill can spin away rocks and check faster threats with Sand Rush.

I apologize for double post, but there is more information that should be covered:

**Fairy-types** Threats such as Azumarill, Mega Diancie, and Clefable can all take advantage of a Kyurem locked into Draco Meteor and are able to use their strong STAB's to take out Kyurem. Azumarill specifically can switch into Kyurem's moves except for Earth Power, although being locked into Earth Power can be easily taken advantage of.
One of Kyurem's selling points as a wallbreaker is being able to break through Clefable the majority of the time; you should mention that Clefable does not want to wind up switching into an Ice Beam.

**Specially Defensive Walls** Threats such as Chansey can come in on Kyurem repeatedly due to taking little from its moves, being able to heal off any damage with Softboiled, and being able to threaten Kyurem with a Toxic which limits its time on the field, or a Thunder Wave which can cripple it by making it slower than all of the threats that it is supposed to handle. Slowking also deserves a mention due to being able to take Kyurem's attacks and recover off the damage while also being able to set up Calm Minds.
If Slowking manages to come into Kyurem safely, then it can recover any damage it tries to take, assuming it is at full health. However, it is 2HKOd by Draco Meteor if it tries to switch in, and Draco does enough that Slowking is not likely going to be able to take another one. The same thing applies to Alomomola, though Sunfish has a small chance of being OHKOd after Stealth Rock. You need to put further mention on Chansey and mention that Slowking can only handle Kyurem if it is not switching in on a full power Draco Meteor.

Mega Scizor helps take out Mega Diancie and can also provide a slow U-Turn, as well as being able to Pursuit trap Latios and Latias for Kyurem.
Pursuit Mega Scizor is not that great of a set in the teamstyles Kyurem fits on; just mention that Mega Scizor can switch into Mega Diancie and Lati twins.

I will edit this post later on why I dont agree with alfalfas mega scizor pursuit point and maybe other stuff.
Edit:
Pursuit Mega Scizor is not that great of a set in the teamstyles Kyurem fits on; just mention that Mega Scizor can switch into Mega Diancie and Lati twins.
The set for both that and Kyurem fit on bulky offense, the easiest to build and what players will normally gravitate to. Kyurems biggest problem is how it opens up a path for stuff like Latios, M-Metagross, M-Gardevoir and M-Diancie after Kyurem breaks something or if the play made a good prediction like dodging Earth Power with Latios. The idea of switching Scizor into the mentioned threats you spoke of implies that it will actually prevent them from coming back and just hitting you again? I mean this kind of works in the scheme of most Lati / Diancie v M-Sciz matchups but why would you not use the opportunity to pair Kyurem up with some a bit anti-offensive in M-Scizor with the ability to trap a lot of Kyurem's counterplays? It's the same way stuff like Pursuit M-Sciz + "insert viable water who is boned by Latios" here functions as a unit. M-Metagross has to fish for Attack Boosts through Meteor Mash to even put a dent on your most basic of M-Sciz sets which normally forces it out and thus allows Pursuit to be used. If Latios isnt packing HP Fire it's forced to switch out into the Scizor check so the potential SD Scizor doesnt get out of control, again paving the way for a potential pursuit and elimination. M-Gardevoir is like this absurdly stupid problem for Specs Kyurem and Kyurem in general if we're assuming people will utilize SubRoost as well. M-Gardevoirs best counterplay to M-Scizor is through running HP Fire which is a bit niche over other options and Wisp which is a lol way of handling Scizor anyways. With the threat of Bullet Punch looming to it allows M-Scizor to improve Kyurem's matchup against an opposing team-mate by potentially eliminating its main problems with mons higher in speed tier.

Anyways on to other stuff.
  • Latios provides great synergy with Kyurem, as it appreciates Kyurem's ability to take out Clefable and common Steel-type checks with Ice Beam and proper use of its coverage moves, respectively; it provides Kyurem with hazard removal and the ability to handle problematic threats to Kyurem such as Keldeo.
For hazard removal and Keldeo yes, everything else not so much. You're really overstating the synergy with these two. Both of them kind of hate M-Scizor, hate M-Metagross, hate the majority of viable Dark types in the tier, hate sand cores, Scarf TTar, and while Kyurem has a selling point of punching holes in Clefable, Clefable isnt a switch in unless the player knows a Draco is coming based on risk v rewards scenarios. Unless they have no other options it'll come in later on a free turn and a Clefable turn means something is about to catch a game changing Thunder Wave which is bad. The hazard removal point is valid but it's really weird to emphasis that they have great synergy with each other because I normally force myself to using Starmie as the hazard remover of choice with Kyurem. Defog Latios is normally an emergency option for stuff like Zard-X, Talon, and Pinsir squads. In the grand scheme of the metagame Defog Latios is kind of shitty and if possible it's the last thing you want to be using for a mon who has so much more potential than removing hazards inviting mons for free. I don't get the point of common steel type checks it's worded weird but w/e.

This leads me to the point about spinners although this is kind of addressed. Starmie + Kyurem + spiker is a classic Kyurem core. A lot of Kyurems good checks like AV Metagross and Chansey hate Spikes. A lot of times you'll want Kyurem paired with a Spinner as opposed to a Defogger (think SpDef Drill, Sand Rush Drill, Offensive and bulky starmie) to maintain these spikes on the field. On the same topic pursuiters, especially the steel ones as mentioned are really good with Kyurem. Pursuit M-Gross and AV Metagross can help take out the Latis a bit better while threatening stuff like Clefable and fairies such as M-Gardevoir and Azumarill. While you mention some partners in team options your points are really vague and not touching upon specific scenarios and utility behind some of these partners. You mentioned Lando-T but you didn't mention Garchomp as a partner and rocker which has a better matchup against the majority of base 100 speed tier mons such as Zard and Garde while it may not ohko all of these it can at least threaten them immediately unlike Lando-T who is at the mercy of the Zard variant and Gardevoirs higher speed tier. Has the potential to threaten Scizor a bit better with potential fire coverage to.

Rocks Clefable should be a team option for its ability to get rocks up on stall, even the standar variant pairs well with Kyurem to pass around paralysis. Really you need a section on fairies in general for team options, the viable ones in the tier work well with Kyurem. Healing Wish support from Rachi is huge for Kyurem btw.

Slowking still needs to be in Checks and Counters, the point of Slowking being in Checks and Counters is soaking up hits in combination with Regenerator. Draco will do a lot but the other attacks can be brushed off allowing you a free status move to use, Calm Mind, or Scald to fish a burn. Jirachi should be put as a check and counter to. You're getting too wrapped up on Kyurem being able to hit everything with super effective coverage when the Kyurem player has to actually predict the Rachi to come in and if they actually pull off hitting you with Epower it's your move knowing they're locked and Kyurem doesn't have Teravolt to ignore Levitators (hint Latios). Obviously everything is circumstantial but in some games Kyurem can be a really prediction reliant mon and against opposing Steels, Fairies, and Water cores which make up the foundation of tons of teams you do have to play in a way to not invite opportunities for dangerous wall-breakers and set up sweepers.

That's all I've noticed I guess there's a lot more you can add and while Kyurem is very strong you dont want to overrate it too much.

Hi

Overview
  • Start off by talking about what its main role is, rather than mentioning the competition right off the bat.
  • Mention the lack of recovery (Roost being a move in Kyurem's arsenal and something some Kyurem-Black sets can afford) leading to it being worn down very easily
  • Elaborate a bit more on the strong STAB - great offensive types which are hard to switch into. Ice in particular is really problematic for some teams to switch into.
  • For Pokemon it checks, put Serperior over Raikou, since it's more relevant and most do not run Dragon Pulse or Life Orb these days (that doesn't need to be mentioned, it's just my justification).
Set Details
  • Max Special Attack with a Timid Nature is strong enough to 2HKO standard Calm Clefable, so a Modest Nature is not necessary (reworded version of what you said to simplify). GP 1/2
  • Ice Beam also has a strong chance to 2HKO standard Ferrothorn after Stealth Rock
[Proof: 252 SpA Choice Specs Kyurem Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 169-199 (48 - 56.5%) -- 88.3% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery]

Usage Tips
  • Move down the switching into attacks portion - hazard removal and Volt-Turn support are a more important aspect of how to play Kyurem
  • A good time to switch Kyurem in directly is on double switches and against passive pokemon like Skarmory
  • Specify that Draco Meteor is a hit and run nuke a bit more clearly
Team Options
  • Heatran. Pls. Pressures all the Steel-type switch-ins to Kyurem and sets up Stealth Rocks. Also can Toxic mons such as Slowking which can otherwise Slack Off stall Kyurem.
  • For Latios mention the ability to lure Steels with coverage to help out Kyurem. That or bulky Waters.
  • Move Ttar to the beginning of its sentence since it's a fine choice.
Other Options
  • 101 HP Subs needs to be talked about for SubRoost.
  • Mention that Kyu-B also has Teravolt which is a much more useful ability as a wallbreaker
Checks & Counters
  • Scarf Tyranitar can switch into any move besides Focus Blast and threaten with Stone Edge. Generally prefers not to switch in though
  • Jirachi under Steels, Excadrill too but that's just a check not a switchin
  • Bulky Waters probably need a section - Slowking is the primary one but Suicune can take on Kyurem in a 1v1 situation if it has Rest. They also prevent Ice Beam from being spammed
  • Faster Dragons. Chomp and Latios in particular but also ZardX

Overview
Emphasize that the extra Special Attack allows Kyurem to 2HKO Clefable, which is one of the main contributing factors to why this is used in the first place.

Moves
Minor nitpick, but list Ice Beam before Draco Meteor because it's generally the move that's being used more often. Give some examples of what Water-types Draco Meteor targets such as Rotom-W, Slowbro, Keldeo, etc. Also list some Steel-types that Kyurem hits with Earth Power; things like Heatran, Jirachi, and Mega Metagross being the most notable examples. Mention that Hidden Power Fire is only useful for hitting Mega Scizor on the switch, otherwise Bullet Punch will deal heavy damage, or have a chance at OHKOing after Rocks for offensive variants.

Usage Tips
The first two sentences of Usage Tips are better suited for Team Options, but even then I'd just remove them because it's not necessary to have them to begin with.

Couple minor things, but it's U-turn not U-Turn and the Team Options section is a bit large, so just break that up into two paragraphs.

Nice work, 3/3

Moves
========

Ice Beam is a strong, safe STAB move that doesn't come with the any drawbacks of lowering your Special Attack (this bit seemed unnecessarily complicated), making it a safer option in general and allowing Kyurem to hits relevant targets such as Clefable which it can 2HKO most of the time with Ice Beam. Draco Meteor is Kyurem's hardest hitting STAB move, dealing great damage to those that resist its Ice-type STAB's, mainly Water-types such as Rotom-Wash, Slowbro, and Keldeo. Earth Power provides great coverage in smacking Steels which resist both of Kyurem's STAB's, such as Heatran, Jirachi, and Mega Metagross; it is also Kyurem's best move to hit Azumarill with. Hidden Power Fire completes its coverage by being able to hit Mega Scizor, which can generally take the rest of Kyurem's moves and threaten Kyurem with a strong STAB Bullet Punch. Focus Blast is another good coverage move, being able to OHKO Tyranitar while still netting good coverage against Ferrothorn and having a good chance to 2HKO standard M-Scizor if running a Timid Nature.

Set Details
========

This EV spread is fully invested in Special Attack to bolster its Kyurem's special moves. Choice Specs gives Kyurem the ability to be lets Kyurem act as a strong special wallbreaker with the drawback of locking Kyurem into one move. Max speed with a Timid nature allows Kyurem to outspeed such threats as Jolly Excadrill out of sand and Adamant Mega Medicham. Max Special Attack with a Timid nature is strong enough to 2HKO standard Calm Clefable and a strong chance to 2HKO Ferrothorn after Stealth Rock, so a Modest nature is not necessary; being able to outspeed the aforementioned threats gives it an edge over Specs Kyurem-B which fails to achieve the 2HKO most of the time with Timid itself.

Removing entry hazards are is helpful so that Kyurem can utilize its bulk to switch in more often without having to worry about residual damage. Pairing it with partners that can bring Kyurem in through the use of Volt Switch or U-turn helps Kyurem come in safely without having to fear strong attacks which it might not be able to switch in directly to. Generally, Kyurem should be used as an early-game wallbreaker being able to dent punch holes into opposing teams. It can switch into weak Water, Grass, and Electric attacks due to its good bulk and retaliate back ("retaliate back" is redundant) due to its good bulk, and can also be brought in on double switches as well as passive pokemon Pokemon such as Skarmory. Ice Beam is generally the most spammable move to use, dealing a large chunk to a wide variety of threats, and can handle threats such as Clefable, as it will not be as willing to switch into Kyurem predicting Draco Meteor due to the fear of being 2HKO'd by Ice Beam. Draco Meteor is also very useful to take out opposing threats that can take more than one Ice Beam, such as Slowbro and Rotom-W, and can even deal heavy damage to resists Pokemon that resist it (resists as an adjective is incorrect), mainly Steel-types such as Jirachi, for example, (unnecessary) as it can limit their ability to switch into Kyurem again, as Draco Meteor is mainly meant to be used as a hit-and-run move; however be wary of using it with a Fairy type on the opposing team, as they can gain momentum off of this. If a Steel-type is on the opposing team, you can either stick to using its STAB's to wear them down, or predict the switch in with its coverage moves, although getting locked into the wrong coverage move can give the opponent free momentum, so be careful of that.

Team Options

Choice Band Tyranitar pairs well with Kyurem to help deal heavy damage to Chansey while being able to trap faster threats such as Latios for Kyurem. Starmie is a great option which can handle threats such as Mega Diancie for Kyurem while also handling Keldeo, as well as providing Rapid Spin support. Latios appreciates Kyurem's ability to take out Clefable and provides Kyurem with hazard removal and the ability to handle problematic threats to Kyurem such as Keldeo; however given that Kyurem prefers having the likes of Spikes support, Rapid Spin is usually a better hazard control option. Heatran is able to pressure Steel-types, set up Stealth Rocks, and provide Toxic support against the likes of Slowking. Landorus-T gives Stealth Rock support and slow U-turn support while being able to handle Excadrill, which can prove to be a major threat to Kyurem in sand, and Landorus-T in return appreciates Kyurem's ability to handle Electric-(+hyphen), Water-(+hyphen), and Grass-types for it. Garchomp provides a similar role minus the U-turn support while being able to take on many problematic threats to Kyurem that sit at the base 100 speed tier such as Mega Gardevoir and Charizard. Rotom-W also checks Excadrill, Mega Scizor, and other threats such as Jirachi due to Will-O-Wisp and provides slow pivoting support for Kyurem while it appreciates having Grass-types taken out for it by Kyurem.

Steel-type partners such as Jirachi, Ferrothorn, Skarmory, as well as Mega Metagross and Mega Scizor serve as great partners due to their ability to handle Fairies for Kyurem. Jirachi can provide Stealth Rock support, pivot support with U-turn, as well as being able to pass Wishes or Healing Wishes in case Kyurem gets too worn down, Healing Wish,(+comma) in particular,(+comma) being very helpful for Kyurem. Ferrothorn and Skarmory are able to set up Spikes for Kyurem, allowing it to more easily wallbreak against worn down opponents, and Skarmory specifically can take on Excadrill in sand. Mega Scizor helps take out Mega Diancie and can also provide a slow U-turn, as well as being able to switch in to into Latios and Latias while also being able to provide Pursuit support. Metagross also provides Pursuit support with both its Mega and Assault Vest sets. Excadrill greatly appreciates Kyurem being able to threaten strong checks to it such as Landorus-T and Tangrowth, and Kyurem benefits from potential Rapid Spin support that it may provide. Stealth Rocks Clefable is a notable partner since it can get Stealth Rocks against stall teams for Kyurem and can also provide Thunder Wave support for it.

SubRoost can be a neat set on slower builds to utilize Pressure, good bulk, and its ability to create 101 HP Substitutes in order to PP stall opponents, although Kyurem is better suited for being a special wallbreaker due to its hard-hitting STAB's. Other offensive sets are done better by Kyurem-Black due to Fusion Bolt and its ability to go mixed along with having the ability Teravolt which means it doesn't have to rely as much on prediction as Kyurem does.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types** Although they cannot directly switch into its coverage options, Steel-types, mainly Mega Scizor, Mega Metagross and Jirachi can easily threaten Kyurem due to their strong STAB moves while also resisting its STAB combination. Excadrill is also an honorable mention, as while it can't switch into Kyurem, threatens it with its strong Iron Heads.

**Chansey** Threats such as Chansey can come in on Kyurem repeatedly due to taking little from its moves, being able to heal off any damage with Softboiled, and being able to threaten Kyurem with a Toxic which limits its time on the field, or a Thunder Wave which can cripple it by making it slower than all of the threats that it is supposed to handle.

**Bulky Water-types** Slowking deserves a mention due to being able to take Kyurem's attacks and recover off the damage while also being able to set up Calm Minds, as while it cannot switch directly into two Draco Meteors, it can safely switch into all of its other moves and set up on it with ease. Suicune is able to handle Kyurem if running Rest in a 1v1 situation as well.

**Fighting-types** Despite not being able to switch in easily, faster attackers like Terrakion, Keldeo, and Mega Lopunny are all able to take out Kyurem with their strong Fighting-type STAB's.

However,(+comma) Clefable cannot switch in directly into a Specs-boosted Ice Beam and must take great care when playing around Kyurem.

**Faster Attackers** Choice Scarf Tyranitar can switch into Kyurem's attacks barring Focus Blast and threaten it with Stone Edge. [OVERVIEW]

Kyurem, while uncommon in the OU tier, is a strong special wallbreaker able to threaten a number of Pokemon with its great offensive STAB moves which that are difficult to switch into, such as Clefable Clefable, which gets 2HKO'd 2HKOed by Ice Beam. Despite facing competition from Kyurem-Black Kyurem-B as a wallbreaker, as its ability is not as useful as Kyurem-Black's Teravolt as well as being unable to afford to run Roost due to primarily running needing Choice Specs, it has a higher Special Attack stat than it's counterpart, Kyurem-Black, allowing it to more viably run a Choice Specs set more viably. than it. Good bulk along with valuable resistances to Water, Electric, and Grass moves allow allows it to check threats such as Rotom-W, Manaphy, Serperior, and Mega Manectric. However, weaknesses to common types such as Fighting and Rock with a vulnerability to all types of entry hazards, mainly Stealth Rock, can limit its ability to switch in, in, and along with a weakness to all types of hazards, mainly Stealth Rock; its speed, Speed, although not bad, leaves Kyurem outsped by a number of threats sitting at the base 100 Speed 100+ speed benchmark. Despite these flaws, given the proper team support, Kyurem can be a great force capable of punching holes into numerous teams.

Ice Beam is a strong, safe strong (Comment: safe is redundant with what you say a bit later ) STAB move that doesn't come with any drawbacks, making it a safer option in general and allowing Kyurem to hit and 2HKO relevant targets such as Clefable Clefable. which it can 2HKO most of the time with Ice Beam. Draco Meteor is Kyurem's hardest hitting STAB move, dealing great damage to those Pokemon that resist Ice, its Ice-type STAB's, mainly Water-types such as Rotom-Wash, Rotom-W, Slowbro, and Keldeo. Earth Power provides great coverage in smacking Steels Steel-types that which resist both of Kyurem's STAB's, STAB combination, such as Heatran, Jirachi, and Mega Metagross; it is also Kyurem's best move to hit Azumarill with. Hidden Power Fire completes its coverage by being able to hit Mega Scizor, which can generally take the rest of Kyurem's moves and threaten Kyurem it with a strong STAB Bullet Punch. Focus Blast is another good coverage move, being able to OHKO Tyranitar while still netting good coverage against Ferrothorn and having a good chance to 2HKO standard M-Scizor Mega Scizor if running a Timid Nature. nature.

This EV spread is fully invested in Maximum Special Attack EVs to bolster the power of Kyurem's special moves. Choice Specs lets Kyurem act as a strong special wallbreaker with the drawback of locking Kyurem it into one move. Max Maximum speed Speed with a Timid nature allows Kyurem to outspeed such threats as Jolly Excadrill out of sand and Adamant Mega Medicham. Max A Modest nature is usually not necessary, as maximum Special Attack investment with a Timid nature is strong enough to 2HKO standard Calm Clefable with Ice Beam and a strong chance to 2HKO Ferrothorn (Comment: add the move that 2hkos it ) after Stealth Rock, Rock. Being able to outspeed Excadrill and Mega Medicham while still achieving a 2HKO on both Clefable and Ferrothorn is what gives Kyurem so a Modest nature is not necessary; being able to outspeed the aforementioned threats gives it an edge over Specs Kyurem-B Kyurem-B, which fails to achieve the 2HKO most of the time with Timid itself.

Usage Tips
========

Removing entry hazards is helpful so that Kyurem can utilize its bulk to switch in more often without having to worry about residual damage. Pairing it Kyurem with partners that can bring Kyurem it in through the use of Volt Switch or U-turn helps Kyurem it come in safely without having to fear strong attacks attacks, which it might not be able to switch in into directly. directly to. Generally, Kyurem should be used as an early-game wallbreaker wallbreaker to being able to punch holes into opposing teams. It can switch into weak Water, Grass, and Electric attacks due thanks to its good bulk and retaliate, and it can also be brought in on double switches as well as passive Pokemon such as Skarmory. Ice Beam is generally the most spammable move to use, dealing a large chunk to a wide variety of threats, and it can handle threats such as Clefable, as it will not be as willing to switch into Kyurem predicting Draco Meteor due to the fear of being 2HKO'd 2HKOed by Ice Beam. Draco Meteor is also very useful to take out opposing threats that can take more than one Ice Beam, such as Slowbro and Rotom-W, and can even deal heavy damage to Pokemon that resist it, mainly Steel-types such as Jirachi, as it can thus limiting (Comment: the fact that it deals heavy damage is NOT a consequence of the fact that they can't switch into it multiple times; it's exactly the opposite ) limit their ability to switch into Kyurem again, as Draco Meteor is mainly meant to be used as a hit-and-run move; however however, be wary of using it with a Fairy type Fairy-type on the opposing team, as they it can gain momentum it Kyurem locks itself into it. off of this. If a Steel-type is on the opposing team, you can either stick to using its Kyurem's STAB's STAB moves to wear them it down, or predict the switch in with its coverage moves, although getting locked into the wrong coverage move can give the opponent free momentum, so be careful careful. of that.

Choice Band Tyranitar pairs well with Kyurem to Kyurem, as it helps help deal heavy damage to Chansey while being able to trap faster threats such as Latios for Kyurem. Starmie is a great option which that can handle threats such as Mega Diancie for Kyurem while also handling dealing with Keldeo, as well as providing Rapid Spin support. Latios appreciates Kyurem's ability to take out Clefable and provides Kyurem with hazard removal and the ability to handle problematic threats to Kyurem such as Keldeo; however however, given that Kyurem prefers having entry hazard support, particularly Spikes, the likes of Spikes support, Rapid Spin is usually a better hazard control option. Heatran is able to pressure Steel-types, set up Stealth Rocks, Rock, and provide Toxic support against the likes of Slowking. Landorus-T gives provides Stealth Rock support and a slow U-turn support while being able to handle Excadrill, which can prove to be a major threat to Kyurem in under sand, and Landorus-T in return appreciates Kyurem's ability to handle Electric-, Water-, and Grass-types for it. Garchomp provides fulfills a similar role minus the U-turn support while being able to take on many problematic threats to Kyurem that sit at the base 100 speed Speed tier such as Mega Gardevoir and Charizard. Rotom-W also checks Excadrill, Mega Scizor, and other threats such as Jirachi due thanks to Will-O-Wisp and provides slow pivoting support for Kyurem Kyurem, while in return while it appreciates having Grass-types taken out out. for it by Kyurem.

Steel-type partners such as Jirachi, Ferrothorn, Skarmory, as well as Mega Metagross and Mega Scizor serve as great partners due to their ability to handle Fairies for Kyurem. Jirachi can provide Stealth Rock support, pivot support with U-turn, as well as being able to pass Wishes or Healing Wishes in case Kyurem gets too worn down, down too much, with Healing Wish, in particular, being very helpful for Kyurem. Ferrothorn and Skarmory are able to set up Spikes Spikes, for Kyurem, allowing it Kyurem to more easily wallbreak against worn down opponents, and Skarmory specifically can also take on Excadrill in under sand. Mega Scizor helps take out Mega Diancie and can also provide a slow U-turn, as well as being able to switch into Latios and Latias while also being able to provide Pursuit support. Metagross also provides Pursuit support either with both its when it is Mega Evolved or running an Assault Vest set. Mega and Assault Vest sets. Excadrill greatly appreciates Kyurem being able to threaten strong checks to it such as Landorus-T and Tangrowth, and Kyurem benefits from potential Rapid Spin support that it Excadrill may provide.
