Leader jas61292 vs Maxim

Its funny how I forgot my own arena effects.

Anyways, I don't have anyone I really want out now who would like to face Aero, so lets just send out another one of my more powerful beasts and see what it can do.

Go Roosevelt the Salamence.

(Also, Intimidate on top of memento and Reflect is fun).

Uh actually...I shouldn't have been hit by that Memento. The reason being because I used it multiple times, and he never specified to not use it twice in a row. Thus, he should have protected, failed, and gotten knocked out by Quick Attack.

I didn't think Jas would mess up like that. It has been corrected in the postround stats, but not the calcs. I doubt this is a sufficient enough change to cause jas' choice of Pokemon to change, so you're up Maxim.

Well, we can't do much here, but at least we may pave the way for a comeback.

Thunder Wave~Light Screen~Ice Punch
If Offensive Ground type move, then use Counter and push actions back
If Brick Break is used, then Counter and push actions back.

Round Six: Barriers

The wind continues to blow as the Gym Leader brings out his second Pokemon: a mighty Salamence that dominates the field in terms of size and power. Electrivire has truly ran into a fantastically powerful guardian of the air.

Salamence roars as a huge series of winds begin to roar around it, completely enshrouding it inside of a protective barrier of moving air. Electrivire fails to respond in time, and a weak shock wave is torn apart upon contact with the winds.

Roosevelt then rushes forwards, a mighty paw raised as he slams it down upon his opponent. Zant is sent several feet backwards before he finally stops, and then slowly rises to his feet as energy courses throughout his body. With a slight hiss, he races forwards and delivers an equally powerful punch back at the beast that doesn't even push it back... it is simply absorbed by the roaring winds. Salamence knows how to respond, and summons up a draconian fire around his fist and smacks Electrivire back into his place, ending the close-quarters engagement. Cast back and on his last energy, Electrivire creates a barrier of light using the electricity in his body. As the shield is completed, the reflective barrier around Salamence fades.

Round Seven: Return of the Dragon

The wind continues to howl...

Seeing his time near the end, Electrivire focuses himself and prepares for one amazing finish to his fight. While bracing himself, Salamence spits out a small orb of toxin through the wind shield, and Electrivire finds himself filled with the goo as it enters into his bloodstream through a cut.

Salamence is more than willing to finish it. Roaring loudly, the dragon slams his paws down onto the arena and a mighty tremor begins to shake through the entire pillar as it slowly begins to crumble around the middle. Braving the shaking and flying stones, Electrivire slowly steps forwards, determined to make one last strike. Even as he is far overwhelmed by damage, it slams a powerful punch into Salamence, causing the wind shield to collapse into nothing as Electrivire smiles and slips into unconciousness due to the toxins...

The pillar is a bit shakier now, but the gym leader continues to stand strong. Maxim has another round of Light Screen in effect. Can he make proper use of it, or is the headwind to strong to fight his way into? Find out next round.

Endure: 15 energy, Endured

Maxim has another round of light screen. Maxim automatically advances his third Pokemon, and gives his orders.

Okay then, Korangir, I'm counting on you!

Right with you boss!

Alright, now lets see if we can't make a comeback of some kind.

Tailwind~Ice Fang~Ice Fang

A2 or A3: Then use Taunt A2
If Toxic, and Salamence is not Taunted:
A1: Then evasive agility and push actions back

Roosevelt, show your power. And try to hit, please.

Stone Edge - Iron Tail - Stone Edge
If either of the first two actions miss, use Thunder Fang action 3 instead.

Round Seven: Changing Winds

The wind continues to howl...

Blowing. Always blowing. As the gales rage, they seem to force one side into a corner, unable to resist. But you can't fight it. Nothing can stop the wind... Right?

Maxim is faced with this grim reality as he unleashes his last Pokemon, an Aerodactyl. Of all the ways to beat the wind, he chooses a bird destined to beat on through it, subject to the mercy of every new storm. Perhaps it is foolish; perhaps it is necessary. Salamence gives the challenger no time to consider, and immediately slams down into the ground and sends a barrage of jagged boulders flying at Aerodactyl, who cringes as they strike his wings. But he doesn't care. Why fear the wind when you can master it? With a massive flap of his wings, Aerodactyl begins to unleash his own storm back into the winds, slowly flying backwards until eventually the winds beat against Roosevelt, forcing him to fly into the new headwind. The winds have literally changed, but have they changed metaphorically?

Aerodactyl uses his newfound speed advantage to propel himself into Salamence and slam into the wind shield, breaking straight through it as he flies onwards at incredible speeds. Of course, he still isn't fast enough to avoid getting struck by a swing of the dragon's tail, launching it back up into the air to recover for a moment, before repeating his strategy as a carnivore: strike continuously from above. The pterodactyl swoops down once again and latches onto Salamence with his jaws, ripping into the beast as freezing saliva drips into the cracks, causing Salamence to flail wildly in pain as he summons up boulders from the ground that constantly crash into the fossil Pokemon until it has to fly off to preserve his wings.

OBJECTION!

Salamence didn't actually have a substitute when it started this round. You forgot to update it last round when Electivire broke it.

EDIT: Also, it can't have an attack drop -_-.

...I hate unconventional ability types. Fixing. If a project mod could delete this string of posts to make the battle look nicer, it would be appreciated.

Endure - Thunder Fang - Thunder Fang
If Aerodactyl uses Roost, use Earthquake, pushing actions back the first time, but not pushing back if it happens again.

Let's hope for some confusion hax!

Round Eight: Did somebody say HAX?

The wind continues to howl...

Salamence begins to prepare itself, mentally preparing to tank anything and everything that comes at it and battle the limits of its own endurance as it readies for the conclusion of the match. The end has begun. Aerodactyl wastes absolutely no time in reestablishing a freezing bite on Salemence, which harms the dragon. However, Salamence survives the hit with his endurance, and then proceeds to shake off the pterodactyl by flailing wildly. No bird will defeat him in his haven.

Aerodactyl recognizes the dire need of the situation, and creates a monstorous screech that deafens the trainers... but not Salemence. The dragon keeps on flying in the wind, and the constant howl deafens it to any attempts at stunning it that the Aerodactyl attempted. Instead, it retaliates by clamping down with electric energy, causing sparks to flow into the fossil Pokemon and paralyze it. As Aerodactyl tries to react, Salemence clamps down again and the bird finally begins to convulse in pain and static, trying to make one last attempt.

It flies up into the air a few feet and glares at the dragon.

And then it falls back down.
