[OVERVIEW]

Leafeon can serve as an decent sweeper and wallbreaker thanks to its overall decent stats and access to a setup move in the form of Swords Dance. It also has a nice ability in Chlorophyll, which allows it to serve as a good sweeper on sun teams. However, its offensive movepool is somewhat shallow, and it has a mediocre offensive typing in pure Grass, often leaving Leafeon dependent on neutral coverage to pick up KOs. This leads to Leafeon struggling to break through certain bulky Pokemon, such as Weezing and Ferroseed. Furthermore, while it can break through Pokemon such as Weezing with its Z-Move, this means it also takes up the team's dedicated Z-Move slot. It can also be relatively easily worn down through means such as Double-Edge's recoil. While its Speed is decent, it is not the best when the sun is not up, so Leafeon can still be relatively easily outsped and revenge killed by Pokemon such as Swanna and Pyroar, especially with its poor HP, lacking Special Defense, and bad defensive typing. Leafeon receives a good amount of competition from other Grass-types both inside and out of sun, such as Shiftry and Sawsbuck. Both have secondary STAB moves and more coverage options, and Shiftry also has access to Sucker Punch and a good support movepool with moves such as Defog. However, Leafeon remains an overall decent choice thanks to its higher physical bulk and Attack and a typing that does not leave it weak to moves such as Mach Punch.

Moves
========

Swords Dance boosts Leafeon's Attack by two stages, allowing it to sweep through opposing teams while more easily breaking through bulkier foes such as Clefairy and Type: Null. Leaf Blade serves as Leafeon's STAB attack, which can also hit Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types such as Lanturn, Golurk, and Regirock for super effective damage. Double-Edge supplies neutral coverage for certain Pokemon that resist Leaf Blade, such as Skuntank and Shiftry, although at the cost of a good amount of recoil. It can be combined with Normalium Z to serve as a one-time nuke for bulky Pokemon such as Weezing as well as to bypass the recoil. Knock Off provides some utility, as it can remove the opposing Pokemon's item, such as Ferroseed and Gurdurr's Eviolite. It also hits certain Pokemon that resist Leafeon's other attacks, such as Oricorio-G and Bronzor.

Set Details
========

252 Attack and Speed EVs let Leafeon hit as hard and fast as it can. A Jolly nature allows Leafeon to outspeed Pokemon such as Oricorio-G and Lilligant while Speed tying with other base 95 Speed Pokemon such as Jynx and Haunter. Normalium Z is run with Double-Edge to provide a one-time nuke for walls such as Weezing and Lurantis. It also allows Leafeon to ignore the recoil of Double-Edge for a turn. If used on a sun team, Leafeon should run Adamant to further its offensive presence, as Chlorophyll already enables it to outspeed most of the metagame.

Usage Tips
========

Leafeon's main role is as a sweeper, ideally after bulkier threats such as Weezing and Lurantis have been KOed or at least weakened to the point where Leafeon can pick them off. This also qualifies for faster threats such as Pyroar and Choice Scarf Primeape, which Leafeon prefers having KOed or potentially crippled with paralysis so it can outspeed them. Leafeon can also serve as a wallbreaker for its teammates, utilizing Swords Dance to more easily break through walls such as Clefairy and Audino, although it should stay wary of Toxic and Thunder Wave. Leafeon can generally set up for free against Pokemon such as Gastrodon and Lanturn, which will usually switch out against it. It can also utilize its good Defense and resistances to set up against Pokemon such as Regirock and Torterra. However, Leafeon dislikes taking a Toxic from all these Pokemon, Thunder Wave from Regirock, and potential coverage such as Lanturn's Ice Beam. When sweeping, stay wary that the opponent may switch out in attempt to lure out Leafeon's Z-Move, as without its Z-Move, Leafeon has a much more difficult time breaking through Pokemon such as Weezing. When Leafeon is run on a sun team, the opponent may also constantly switch in attempt to stall out the sun. Leafeon can take advantage of these switches, however, as it can use the turn as an opportunity to set up Swords Dance.

Team Options
========

Leafeon can be used on both balance and sun teams in need of a sweeper or wallbreaker. Special wallbreakers such as Aurorus and Drampa can help with the physical walls that give Leafeon trouble such as Weezing and Gourgeist-XL, while Leafeon can help with specially defensive Pokemon such as Clefairy and Lanturn. Pokemon such as Primeape and Gurdurr can help against Steel-types such as Ferroseed. Fast Pokemon such as Archeops appreciate Leafeon's ability to break through bulkier foes such as Regirock and Gastrodon, allowing them to more easily clean up the match. Defensive Mesprit can support Leafeon through moves such as Stealth Rock, a slow U-turn, Healing Wish, and Thunder Wave, while other sets can fulfill various other roles such as a special wallbreaker with Choice Specs, a cleaner with Choice Scarf, and a sun setter, allowing Leafeon to potentially sweep. Regirock can also supply Stealth Rock and Thunder Wave, as well as serve as a lead setter of sun. Volbeat and Liepard are other good sun setters, although they are more so meant to support Leafeon and the rest of the team throughout the match. They can also serve as pivots and have access to support moves such as Encore and Thunder Wave. Other sun sweepers such as Lilligant, Victreebel, and Shiftry can help break down the opposing team before Leafeon comes in to sweep or can come in to clean after Leafeon breaks down the opposing team. Fire-types such as Pyroar can also serve as sun sweepers and are particularly beneficial for Leafeon because they can help against Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Mawile.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A Choice Band set can be run on Leafeon for more immediate power as a wallbreaker, but the loss of both Swords Dance and the Z-Move makes it less of a sweeper. Its inability to change between moves can also make Leafeon very exploitable. It can also run a Choice Scarf set, which allows it to serve as a revenge killer that outspeeds Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Oricorio and +1 Lilligant, although this can leave Leafeon very underwhelming at times and is overall subpar when compared to other Choice Scarf users such as Primeape and Togedemaru. Z-Celebrate is an option that boosts all of Leafeon's stats by +1, allowing it to sweep more easily, although at the cost of giving up Swords Dance or Knock Off and making it much less of a wallbreaker. Life Orb is an option on the Swords Dance set if the Z-Move slot is taken, although its recoil stacked with the recoil of Double-Edge can wear Leafeon down quickly. Yache Berry allows Leafeon to better handle Pokemon such as Floatzel and Ludicolo, but it has little usage outside of that, so it is overall very situational. Return can be run over Double-Edge, with no recoil at the cost of less power and a weaker Z-Move, which gives it a much more difficult time breaking through bulkier Pokemon such as Weezing and Lurantis. Leafeon can run Grassium Z, which serves as an overall powerful STAB nuke, but this misses out on hitting Weezing, so it is generally inferior to Normalium Z. Groundium Z + Dig allows Leafeon to hit Steel-types such as Togedemaru, Alolan Sandslash, and Aggron for super effective damage. However, it struggles to find space for Dig on its moveset, especially due to its uselessness outside of the Z-Move, and this again leaves it vulnerable to Weezing. Finally, Quick Attack can be used to hit faster foes as Leafeon attempts to sweep, but it is extremely weak even at +2, and again Leafeon struggles to find a spot in its moveset.

Checks and Counter
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Due to its low Special Defense, Leafeon can be relatively easily revenge killed by faster special attackers such as Pyroar, Floatzel, and Choice Scarf users such as Haunter, Jynx, and Mesprit. It can also be KOed by physical attackers such as Choice Scarf Primeape, but this often requires a decent amount of previously acquired damage. All these Pokemon are also outsped by Leafeon under sun and do not appreciate having to take a hit from it.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types such as Alolan Sandslash, Aggron, and Probopass can take a hit before dealing a good amount of damage to Leafeon in return. Other Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Mawile take little from Leafeon’s attacks and can whittle it down with Gyro Ball, Play Rough, and Toxic. Togedemaru can outspeed and whittle Leafeon down with a constant U-turn, but it often ends up having to sack off teammates in the process.

**Physical Walls**: Gourgeist-XL can take any hit from Leafeon with ease, although it fears +2 Knock Off if it is not running Colbur Berry. In return, it can cripple Leafeon with Will-O-Wisp, deal a good amount of damage with Foul Play, and heal off any damage taken with Synthesis. If Leafeon's Z-Move is already used up, certain physically defensive walls such as Weezing and Lurantis do not mind taking any of Leafeon’s attacks and can KO it or cripple it with Will-O-Wisp or Toxic. Sableye has priority in Will-O-Wisp to cripple Leafeon and Taunt to stop it from setting up. Other bulky Pokemon such as Gurdurr can take a hit and deal a decent amount of damage. Throh can also take a hit before removing Leafeon, as well as its boosts, from the field with Circle Throw.

**Flying-types**: Certain Flying-types such as Archeops, Swanna, and Choice Scarf Oricorio-G can outspeed Leafeon and OHKO it with their STAB moves, but are all outsped by Leafeon when sun is active.

**Snow Warning**: Both Aurorus and Abomasnow can remove the sun, negating Leafeon's Chlorophyll boost. They also outspeed Leafeon if running Choice Scarf and OHKO with Blizzard, and Abomasnow can deal a decent amount of damage with Ice Shard. However, they do not like having to take a Leaf Blade or Double-Edge, and if not running Choice Scarf, they often find themselves switching out immediately.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Leafeon can serve as an decent sweeper and abuser thanks to its overall decent stats and access to setup in the form of Swords Dance. These stats include a respectable Attack and Defense, as well as an alright Speed. (i feel like the last bit is just fluff)
  • It also has a nice ability in Chlorophyll, which allows Leafeon to serve as a good sweeper on Sun teams. (also helps it against other sun teams because it'll often be the fastest pokemon regardless)
  • However, its offensive movepool is somewhat shallow, often leaving Leafeon dependent on neutral coverage to pick up KOes, such as its STAB Leaf Blade or Double-Edge, or its Z-move in Breakneck Blitz. (no mention of knock off seems weird, it's a great utility move. also mention that it's a pure grass-type)
  • This leads to Leafeon struggling to break through certain bulky Pokemon, such as Weezing and Ferroseed, especially if its Z-move has already been used up. (well it can't break through ferroseed regardless, so maybe rephrase this sentence)
  • It can also be relatively easily worn down through means such as Double-Edge’s recoil, hazards, and priority from Pokemon such as Skuntank and Kangaskhan. (i'd like to point out that the first two points are not really applicable if you're running it on a sun team)
  • While its Speed is decent, it is not the best when the Sun is not up, so Leafeon can still be relatively easily outsped and revenge killed by Pokemon such as Swanna and Pyroar, especially with its poor HP and Special Defense.
  • Leafeon receives a good amount of competition from other Grass-types both inside and out of Sun, such as Shiftry and Sawsbuck. Both have secondary STAB moves, more coverage options, and Shiftry’s access to Sucker Punch and a good support movepool with moves such as Defog. However, thanks to its higher physical bulk, Attack, and Speed, in Shiftry’s case, Leafeon remains an overall decent choice. (inside sun the speed factor is mitigated because they're all faster than most of the metagame, including choice scarf pokemon)
  • another negative worth mentioning is how reliant leafeon is on its z move, meaning you have to run it as your dedicated z move slot

Moves
========

  • Swords Dance boosts Leafeon’s Attack by two stages, allowing it more easily sweep and break through bulkier foes. (add more information here. this also doesn't quite make sense)
  • Leaf Blade serves as Leafeon’s STAB, which can also hit Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types such as Gastrodon, Palossand, and Golurk for super effective damage. (all three are ground-types o_o. name some rock-types and water-types that aren't part ground-type)
  • Double-Edge supplies a powerful attack for certain Pokemon that resist Leaf Blade, such as Skuntank and Magmortar, although at the cost of a good amount of recoil. It can be combined with the Normalium Z to serve as a one-time nuke for bulky Pokemon such as Weezing and Altaria, as well as ignore the recoil. (double edge is also its best option for a neutral coverage move)
  • Knock Off is Leafeon’s best way to hit Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Bronzor, as well as certain other foes that resist both Leaf Blade and Double-Edge such as Oricorio-Sensu. It can also be used to remove items such as Eviolite, making Pokemon such as Gurdurr easier to break through. (let's be real. you still lose to ferroseed but knock off it primarily used to get rid of eviolite)

Set Details
========

  • 252 Attack EVs gives Leafeon its offensive presence.
  • A Jolly nature and 252 Speed EVs allow Leafeon to outspeed Pokemon such as Timid Magmortar, Oricorio-G, and Lilligant, while speed tying with other base 95 Speed Pokemon such as Jynx and Haunter. (merge with the bullet point above)
  • Normalium Z is run with Double-Edge to provide a one-time nuke for walls such as Weezing, Miltank, and Lurantis. It also allows Leafeon to ignore the recoil of Double-Edge for a turn.
  • Adamant should only be run if Leafeon is on a Sun team, as Chlorophyll already enables it to outspeed most of the meta, and Adamant furthers its offensive presence. Chlorophyll can also be used to help against opposing Sun teams. (nah, don't use adamant)

Usage Tips
========

  • Leafeon’s main role is as a late-game sweeper. This is ideally after bulkier threats such as Altaria and Type: Null have been KOed or at least weakened to the point where Leafeon can pick up the KO. This also qualifies for faster threats such as Choice Scarf Primeape and Pyroar (i'd swap the order, makes it seem like pyroar requires a choice scarf to outspeed leafeon, which it doesn't), in which Leafeon prefers them having been KOed or potentially crippled with Paralysis so Leafeon can outspeed them. (don't you beat type: null 1v1, or at least cripple it severely. i wouldn't use it as a mention)
  • Leafeon can also serve as a wallbreaker for its teammates, utilizing Swords Dance to more easily break through walls such as Clefairy and Audino. (does it really want to take a toxic from either or a thunder wave from clefairy? i'd at least mention both of these factors here)
  • Leafeon can set up against Pokemon such as Gastrodon and Lanturn, which will usually switch out against it, allowing Leafeon to to set up a free Swords Dance. It can also utilize its good Defense and resistances to set up against Pokemon such as Regirock and Torterra. However, stay wary of Toxic from all these Pokemon and potential coverage such as Lanturn’s Ice Beam. (must also be careful of thunder wave from regirock too)
  • When sweeping, also stay wary that the opponent may send out their best wall before immediately switching out in attempt to lure out Leafeon’s Z-move. (i'd rephrase this to be more general. like mentioning how it can struggle to break things without it, such as weezing, and such)
  • When run on a Sun team, the opponent may also constantly switch in attempt to stall out the Sun, which Leafeon prefers to be set up before it is set up so it can take full advantage of Chlorophyll. Leafeon can take advantage of these switches, however, as it can use the turn as an opportunity to set up Swords Dance.
  • Pokemon such as Aurorus and Abomasnow can also stop the Sun, disrupting Leafeon’s sweep, although they do not wish to take a Leaf Blade or Double-Edge, respectively. (no need to say respectively if it's obvious. i'd mention that leafeon loses to choice scarf variants of both of these pokemon)

Team Options
========

  • Leafeon can be used on both balance and hyper offensive teams in need of a wincon. (don't say hyper offensive, specifically mention sun teams. i wouldn't use it on any other form of hyper offense)
  • Special wallbreakers such as Magmortar, Aurorus, and Drampa can help with the physical walls that give Leafeon trouble such as Weezing and Gourgeist (specify which gourgeist), while Leafeon can help with specially defensive Pokemon such as Clefairy and Eelektross. Magmortar can also help against Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Mawile. (aurorus hits both mawile and ferroseed extremely hard. also, would you really want to try and 1v1 and eelektross with a leafeon? i'd only even consider it is i was at +2 and had my z move; unless you mean once it's weakened)
  • Other Steel-type checks such as Passimian and Gastrodon can also come in handy. (doesn't gastrodon hard lose to ferroseed?)
  • Fast Pokemon such as Archeops and Floatzel appreciate Leafeon’s ability to break through bulkier foes such as Regirock and Gastrodon, allowing them to more easily clean up the match. (special floatzel can also break through regirock and gastrodon with ease. maybe mention physical, but even then it still threatens regirock loads)
  • Thunder Wave users such as Mesprit and Regirock and can cripple fast opponents such as Archeops and Choice Scarf Primeape, allowing Leafeon to outspeed them. The two can also support Leafeon with Stealth Rock and Sunny Day (you'd actually rarely see a mesprit on a sun team, because the primarly setter is often regirock), and Mesprit can furthermore aid Leafeon with Healing Wish and various other roles, depending on its set, such as a special wallbreaker or cleaner. (mesprit offers a slow u-turn, which helps get it in. mesprit also threatens things like weezing)
  • On sun teams, Pokemon such as Volbeat and Liepard can also set up sun for Leafeon, allowing it to sweep.
  • Other sun abusers such as Victreebel and Pyroar can help Leafeon break through the opposing team or clean up after it. (i'd expand on the last two points, because leafeon will primarily see usage on sun teams)

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • A Choice Band set can be run on Leafeon for more immediate power as a wallbreaker, but is less of a sweeper. (can't change moves and is extremely exploitable too. also isn't able to boost with swords dance or use a z move)
  • It can also run a Choice Scarf set, which allows it to serve as a revenge killer that outspeeds Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Oricorio and +1 Lilligant, although can leave it very underwhelming at times. (also very subpar compared to other choice scarf users)
  • Z-Celebrate is an option that boosts all of Leafeon’s stats by +1, allowing it to more easily sweep, although it gives up Leafeon’s role as a wallbreaker. All three of these sets can also give Pokemon such as Weezing and Altaria a much easier time switching in and checking Leafeon, bar a Choice Banded Double-Edge. (choice banded double-edge? do you mean a +1 double-edge? also it's worth mentioning that it has to give up swords dance or another move to be able to run this)
  • Life Orb is an option on the Swords Dance set if the Z-move slot is take, although it’s recoil stacks with the recoil of Double-Edge, which can wear Leafeon down quickly.
  • Yache Berry allows Leafeon to better handle Pokemon such as Floatzel and Ludicolo, but has little usage outside of that, so it is overall very situational.
  • Return can be run over Double-Edge, with no recoil at the cost of less power and a weaker Z-move. (meh)
  • Z-Dig allows Leafeon to hit Steel-types such as Togedemaru, Alolan Sandslash, and Aggron for super effective damage, although it struggles to find space for Dig on its moveset and leaves Leafeon vulnerable to Pokemon such as Weezing and Altaria. (also means it's a useless move after you've wasted the z move)
  • Finally, Quick Attack can be used to hit faster opponents as Leafeon attempts to sweep, but requires previously acquired damage on the opponent to pick up the KO, even at +2, and again struggles to find a spot in Leafeon’s moveset. (so weak)

Checks and Counter
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Due to its low Special Defense, Leafeon can be relatively easily revenge killed by faster special attackers such as Pyroar, Floatzel, and Choice Scarf users such as Haunter, Jynx, and Mesprit. It can also be KOed by physical attackers such as Choice Scarf Primeape and Alolan Persian (alolan persian o..o, do you mean like foul play. i would just remove alolan persian because it really just doesn't fit here at all), but often requires a decent amount of previously acquired damage. (weird how you don't mention the sun scenario here actually)

**Bulky Pokemon**: Physically defensive walls such as Weezing, Gourgeist-XL, and Lurantis do not mind taking any of Leafeon’s attacks, bar +2 Breakneck Blitz on Weezing and Lurantis, and can KO or cripple it with Will-O-Wisp or Toxic. Sableye has priority in Will-O-Wisp and can Taunt Leafeon to stop it from setting up. Other bulky Pokemon such as Miltank, Gurdurr, and Type: Null can live a hit and deal a decent amount of damage or Toxic Leafeon. Throh can also take a hit before removing Leafeon, as well as its boosts, from the field with Circle Throw. (i'd remove type: null personally, i wouldn't want to switch on in versus leafeon because of the combination of knock off and its swords dance + z move. mention how gourgeist-xl quite literally walls it)

**Steel-types**: Steel-types such as Alolan Sandslash, Aggron, and Probopass can take a hit before dealing a good amount of damage to Leafeon in return. Other Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Mawile take little from Leafeon’s attacks and can whittle it down with Gyro Ball, Play Rough, and Toxic, respectively (respectively doesn't make sense here). Togedemaru can outspeed and whittle Leafeon down with a constant U-turn, but often ends up having to sack off teammates in the process. (i'd put this above bulky pokemon personally, because leafeon finds it extremely difficult to break through most of these)

**Flying-types**: Certain Flying-types such as Archeops, Swanna, and Choice Scarf Oricorio-G can outspeed Leafeon and OHKO it with their STAB moves. Altaria can take a hit from Leafeon, bar a +2 Breakneck Blitz when combined with Stealth Rock damage, and can cripple Leafeon with Toxic or pick up a 2HKO with Flamethrower. (mention the sun aspect too please)

**Chip Damage**: Both before and while sweeping, Leafeon often takes a good amount of chip damage from hazards, Double Edge’s recoil, and other means of damage from Pokemon that can live an attack. Priority users such as Skuntank, Kangaskhan, and Hitmonchan are another source or chip damage, as well as Skuntank’s Aftermath. These can all make Leafeon much easier to revenge kill. (skuntank has to play a 50/50 with it every time however, and hitmonchan doesn't really do that much damage. kangaskhan is also able to stall out sun turns with fake out by the way)
Overall pretty decent. You, however, fail to mention the sun aspect in several of the sections, or do so in a minimal amount of detail. QC 1/3.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Leafeon can serve as an decent sweeper and abuser you have to abuse something. "abuser" isnt a role, that doesn't make sense. I assume you mean sun abuser? thanks to its overall decent stats and access to setup in the form of Swords Dance.
  • It also has a nice ability in Chlorophyll, which allows Leafeon to serve as a good sweeper on sun teams, as well as a helpful way to deal with opposing sun teams.
  • However, its offensive movepool is somewhat shallow, and has a mediocre offensive typing as a pure Grass-type, often leaving Leafeon dependent on neutral coverage to pick up KOes, such as its STAB Leaf Blade, Double-Edge or its Z-move in Breakneck Blitz, and Knock Off for its utility. listing moves gets too simplistic, just saying it has bad coverage is enough
  • This leads to Leafeon struggling to break through certain bulky Pokemon, such as Weezing and Ferroseed. While it can break through Pokemon such as Weezing with its Z-move, this means it also takes up the team's dedicated Z-move slot.
  • It can also be relatively easily worn down through means such as Double-Edge’s recoil and priority from Pokemon such as Skuntank and Kangaskhan.
  • While its Speed is decent, it is not the best when the Sun is not up, so Leafeon can still be relatively easily outsped and revenge killed by Pokemon such as Swanna and Pyroar, especially with its poor HP and Special Defense.

Usage Tips
========

  • Leafeon’s main role is as a late-game sweeper nah, it can do that or it can be an early game mon. ur second bullet agrees with me so why are u saying its main role is late game here. This is ideally after bulkier threats such as Altaria and Lurantis have been KOed or at least weakened to the point where Leafeon can pick up the KO. This also qualifies for faster threats such as Pyroar and Choice Scarf Primeape, in which Leafeon prefers them having been KOed or potentially crippled with Paralysis so Leafeon can outspeed them.
  • Leafeon can also serve as a wallbreaker for its teammates, utilizing Swords Dance to more easily break through walls such as Clefairy and Audino, although should stay wary of Toxic and Thunder Wave.
  • Leafeon can set up against Pokemon such as Gastrodon and Lanturn, which will usually switch out against it, allowing Leafeon to to set up a free Swords Dance. It can also utilize its good Defense and resistances to set up against Pokemon such as Regirock and Torterra. However, stay wary of Toxic from all these Pokemon, Thunder Wave from Regirock, and potential coverage such as Lanturn’s Ice Beam.
  • When sweeping, also stay wary that the opponent may switch out in attempt to lure out Leafeon’s Z-move, as without its Z-move, Leafeon has a much more difficult time breaking through Pokemon such as Weezing.

  • Pokemon such as Aurorus and Abomasnow can also stop the Sun, disrupting Leafeon’s sweep, although they do not wish to take a Leaf Blade or Double-Edge. Furthermore, their Choice Scarf sets outspeed Leafeon and can easily pick up the KO. this sounds like it belongs in checks and counters, there's no usage tip here so idk what it's doing

Team Options

  • Leafeon can be used on both balance and sun teams in need of a wincon. more a wallbreaker than a wincon, don't rly agree with that

Magmortar and Aurorus can also help against Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Mawile.
  • Other Steel-type checks such as Passimian id put primeape just in case, saves me editing time later on and Gurdurr can also come in handy.
  • Fast Pokemon such as Archeops appreciate Leafeon’s ability to break through bulkier foes such as Regirock and Gastrodon, allowing them to more easily clean up the match.
  • In its defensive set, Mesprit can support Leafeon through moves such as Stealth Rock, a slow U-turn, Healing Wish, and Thunder Wave. Through its other sets, Mesprit can fulfill various other roles such as a special wallbreaker with Choice Specs or a cleaner with Choice Scarf.
  • Regirock can also supply Stealth Rock and Thunder Wave, as well as can serve as a lead setter of Sunny Day. Sun, when combined with Chlorophyll, boosts Leafeon's speed, allowing it to potentially sweep.
  • Volbeat and Liepard are other good Sunny Day setters, although they are moreso meant to support Leafeon and the rest of the team throughout the match. They can also serve as pivots and have access to support moves such as Encore and Thunder Wave.
  • Other sun sweepers such as Lilligant, Victreebel, and Shiftry can help break down the opposing team before Leafeon comes in to sweep, or can come in to clean after Leafeon breaks down the opposing team.

Other Options

  • On sun teams, Leafeon can should run Adamant nature due to outspeeding most of the meta with Chlorophyll.
  • A Choice Band set can be run on Leafeon for more immediate power as a wallbreaker, but at the loss of both Swords Dance and the Z-move, making it less of a sweeper. It inability to change between moves can also make it very exploitable.
  • It can also run a Choice Scarf set, which allows it to serve as a revenge killer that outspeeds Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Oricorio and +1 Lilligant, although can leave it very underwhelming at times, and is overall subpar when compared to other Choice Scarf users such as Primeape and Togedemaru.
  • Z-Celebrate is an option that boosts all of Leafeon’s stats by +1, allowing it to more easily sweep, although at the cost of giving up either Swords Dance or Knock Off, and makes it much less of wallbreaker.
  • Return can be run over Double-Edge, with no recoil at the cost of less power and a weaker Z-move. id be more negative, this makes it sound more reasonable and less of a just bad alternative
  • Z-Dig allows Leafeon to hit Steel-types such as Togedemaru, Alolan Sandslash, and Aggron for super effective damage, although it struggles to find space for Dig on its moveset, especially due to its uselessness outside of the Z-move, and still leaves Leafeon vulnerable to Pokemon such as Weezing and Altaria.
  • Finally, Quick Attack can be used to hit faster opponents as Leafeon attempts to sweep, but is extremely weak, even at +2, and again struggles to find a spot in Leafeon’s moveset.
grassium isnt bad, stupid strong nuke for everything not named weezing/ferro/alt

Checks and Counter
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Due to its low Special Defense, Leafeon can be relatively easily revenge killed by faster special attackers such as Pyroar, Floatzel, and Choice Scarf users such as Haunter, Jynx, and Mesprit. It can also be KOed by physical attackers such as Choice Scarf Primeape, but often requires a decent amount of previously acquired damage. All these Pokemon are also outsped by Leafeon under Sun which is important because they don't like taking hits from it. However, both Choice Scarf Abomasnow and Aurorus do not mind the sun due to Snow Warning, and outspeed Leafeon while OHKOing with Blizzard.

Togedemaru can outspeed and whittle Leafeon down with a constant U-turn, but often ends up having to sack off teammates in the process.

**Bulky Pokemon id prefer Physical Walls tbh**: Gourgeist-XL can take any hit from Leafeon with ease, although it fears Knock Off if it is not running Colbur Berry. In return, it can cripple Leafeon with Will-O-Wisp, deal a good amount of damage with Foul Play, and heal off any damage taken with Synthesis. If Leafeon's Z-move is already used up, Certain Physically defensive walls such as Weezing and Lurantis do not mind taking any of Leafeon’s attacks and can KO or cripple it with Will-O-Wisp or Toxic. Sableye has priority in Will-O-Wisp and can Taunt Leafeon to stop it from setting up. Other bulky Pokemon such as Miltank and Gurdurr can live a hit and deal a decent amount of damage or Toxic Leafeon. Throh can also take a hit before removing Leafeon, as well as its boosts, from the field with Circle Throw.

**Flying-types**: Certain Flying-types such as Archeops, Swanna, and Choice Scarf Oricorio-G can outspeed Leafeon and OHKO it with their STAB moves. Be wary that these Pokemon are all outsped by Leafeon when under sun. Altaria can take a hit from Leafeon, bar a +2 Breakneck Blitz when combined with Stealth Rock damage, and can cripple Leafeon with Toxic or pick up a 2HKO with Flamethrower.

**Chip Damage**: Both before and while sweeping, Leafeon often takes a good amount of chip damage, making it much easier to revenge kill. These can include damage from hazards, Double Edge’s recoil, and other means of damage from Pokemon that can live an attack. Priority users such as Skuntank, Kangaskhan, and Abomasnow are another source or chip damage, as well as Skuntank’s Aftermath. It is should be noted that Kangaskhan's Fake Out can stall out turns of sun, and Sucker Punch can lead to 50/50 mind games. honestly, I'd just delete this section. Leafeon isnt more susceptible to chip than anything else, in fact it's far less susceptible than a lot of the meta. there's zero special about how it gets chipped, simply being vulnerable to entry hazards and needing to set up isn't enough to justify a chip damage section

[OVERVIEW]

Leafeon can serve as an decent sweeper and wallbreaker thanks to its overall decent stats and access to setup in the form of Swords Dance. It also has a nice ability in Chlorophyll, which allows Leafeon to serve as a good sweeper on sun teams, as well as a helpful way to deal with opposing sun teams (i don't think this is v important but if you feel it is i'd explain why). However, its offensive movepool is somewhat shallow, and it has a mediocre offensive typing as a pure Grass-type, often leaving Leafeon dependent on neutral coverage to pick up KOes. This leads to Leafeon struggling to break through certain bulky Pokemon, such as Weezing and Ferroseed. While it can break through Pokemon such as Weezing with its Z-move, this means it also takes up the team's dedicated Z-move slot. It can also be relatively easily worn down through means such as Double-Edge’s recoil and priority from Pokemon such as Skuntank and Kangaskhan i mean it's not using double edge that often and i don't see why it's any more susceptible to priority than any other mon. While its Speed is decent, it is not the best when the Sun is not up, so Leafeon can still be relatively easily outsped and revenge killed by Pokemon such as Swanna and Pyroar, especially with its poor HP and Special Defense. Leafeon receives a good amount of competition from other Grass-types both inside and out of Sun, such as Shiftry and Sawsbuck. Both have secondary STAB moves, more coverage options, and Shiftry’s access to Sucker Punch and a good support movepool with moves such as Defog. However, Leafeon remains an overall decent choice thanks to its higher physical bulk and Attack. it's also not destroyed by Mach Punch

mention somewhere ab its bad defensive typing as well

Moves
========

Swords Dance boosts Leafeon’s Attack by two stages, allowing it to sweep through opposing teams while more easily breaking through bulkier foes such as Clefairy and Type: Null. Leaf Blade serves as Leafeon’s STAB, which can also hit Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types such as Lanturn, Palossand, and Regirock for super effective damage. Double-Edge supplies a powerful attack that supplies (you use supply twice here) neutral coverage for certain Pokemon that resist Leaf Blade, such as Skuntank and Magmortar, although at the cost of a good amount of recoil. It can be combined with the Normalium Z to serve as a one-time nuke for bulky Pokemon such as Weezing and Altaria, as well as ignore the recoil. Knock Off provides some utility as it can remove the opponent's item such as Ferroseed and Gurdurr's Eviolite. It also provides some coverage for certain Pokemon that resist Leafeon's other attacks, such as Oricorio-G and Bronzor. (you use provides the same way in two sentences, just something small)

Set Details
========

252 Attack and Speed EVs gives Leafeon its offensive presence (i feel like this is p weak, it would still have offensive presence w/o. just say it lets it hit as hard as it can or something). Jolly allows Leafeon to outspeed Pokemon such as Timid Magmortar, Oricorio-G, and Lilligant, while speed tying with other base 95 Speed Pokemon such as Jynx and Haunter. Normalium Z is run with Double-Edge to provide a one-time nuke for walls such as Weezing, Miltank, and Lurantis. It also allows Leafeon to ignore the recoil of Double-Edge for a turn. If on a sun team, Leafeon should run Adamant, as Chlorophyll already enables it to outspeed most of the meta, and Adamant furthers its offensive presence. (if this is the case, why isn't it slashed on set details?)

Usage Tips
========

Leafeon’s main role is as a sweeper. Leafeon can also serve as a wallbreaker for its teammates, utilizing Swords Dance to more easily break through walls such as Clefairy and Audino, although should stay wary of Toxic and Thunder Wave. Leafeon can set up against Pokemon such as Gastrodon and Lanturn, which will usually switch out against it, essentially allowing Leafeon to to set up a free Swords Dance. It can also utilize its good Defense and resistances to set up against Pokemon such as Regirock and Torterra. However, stay wary of Toxic from all these Pokemon, Thunder Wave from Regirock, and potential coverage such as Lanturn’s Ice Beam. When sweeping, also stay wary that the opponent may switch out in attempt to lure out Leafeon’s Z-move, as without its Z-move, Leafeon has a much more difficult time breaking through Pokemon such as Weezing. When run on a Sun team, the opponent may also constantly switch in attempt to stall out the Sun, which Leafeon prefers to be set up before it is set up (kinda confusing) so it can take full advantage of Chlorophyll. Leafeon can take advantage of these switches, however, as it can use the turn as an opportunity to set up Swords Dance.

Team Options
========

Leafeon can be used on both balance and sun teams in need of a sweeper or wallbreaker. Special wallbreakers such as Magmortar, Aurorus, and Drampa can help with the physical walls that give Leafeon trouble such as Weezing and Gourgeist-XL, while Leafeon can help with specially defensive Pokemon such as Clefairy and Hitmonchan(idk if chan is best example since it can't even ohko without a boost). Magmortar and Aurorus (why aurorus?) can also help against Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Mawile, as can other Steel-type checks such as Primeape and Gurdurr. Fast Pokemon such as Archeops appreciate Leafeon’s ability to break through bulkier foes such as Regirock and Gastrodon, allowing them to more easily clean up the match. In its defensive set, Mesprit can support Leafeon through moves such as Stealth Rock, a slow U-turn, Healing Wish, and Thunder Wave (mention sunny day).Through its other sets, Mesprit can fulfill various other roles such as a special wallbreaker with Choice Specs or a cleaner with Choice Scarf. Regirock can also supply Stealth Rock and Thunder Wave, as well as can serve as a lead setter of Sunny Day. Sun, when combined with Chlorophyll, boosts Leafeon's speed, allowing it to potentially sweep. Volbeat and Liepard are other good Sunny Day setters, although they are more so meant to support Leafeon and the rest of the team throughout the match. They can also serve as pivots and have access to support moves such as Encore and Thunder Wave. Other sun sweepers such as Lilligant, Victreebel, and Shiftry can help break down the opposing team before Leafeon comes in to sweep, or can come in to clean after Leafeon breaks down the opposing team. Fire-types such as Pyroar can also serve as sun sweepers (i wouldn't say sweeper more so than abuser), but are particularly beneficial for Leafeon as they can help against Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Mawile.

Moves
========

Swords Dance boosts Leafeon's (changed apostrophe) Attack by two stages, allowing it to sweep through opposing teams while more easily breaking through bulkier foes such as Clefairy and Type: Null. Leaf Blade serves as Leafeon's (changed apostrophe) STAB attack, which can also hit Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types such as Lanturn, Palossand (palossand is gone, find a diff ground example) and Regirock for super effective damage. Double-Edge supplies neutral coverage for certain Pokemon that resist Leaf Blade, such as Skuntank and Magmortar, although at the cost of a good amount of recoil. It can be combined with Normalium Z to serve as a one-time nuke for bulky Pokemon such as Weezing as well as to bypass the recoil. Knock Off provides some utility, as it can remove the opposing Pokemon's item, (AC) such as Ferroseed and Gurdurr's Eviolite. It also hits certain Pokemon that resist Leafeon's other attacks, such as Oricorio-G and Bronzor.

Set Details
========

252 Attack and Speed EVs lets Leafeon hit as hard and fast as it can. A Jolly nature allows Leafeon to outspeed Pokemon such as Timid Magmortar, Oricorio-G, and Lilligant while Speed tying with other base 95 Speed Pokemon such as Jynx and Haunter. Normalium Z is run with Double-Edge to provide a one-time nuke for walls such as Weezing, Miltank, (no more miltank, dont really need another example but if you want to find one you can) and Lurantis. It also allows Leafeon to ignore the recoil of Double-Edge for a turn. If used on a sun team, Leafeon should run Adamant to further its offensive presence, as Chlorophyll already enables it to outspeed most of the meta, and Adamant furthers its offensive presencgame.

Usage Tips
========

Leafeon's (changed apostrophe) main role is as a sweeper, ideally after bulkier threats such as Weezing and Lurantis have been KOed or at least weakened to the point where Leafeon can pick them off. However, Leafeon dislikes taking a Toxic from all these Pokemon, Thunder Wave from Regirock, and potential coverage such as Lanturn's (changed apostrophe) Ice Beam. When sweeping, stay wary that the opponent may switch out in attempt to lure out Leafeon's (changed apostrophe) Z-Move, as without its Z-Move, Leafeon has a much more difficult time breaking through Pokemon such as Weezing. When Leafeon is run on a sun team, the opponent may also constantly switch in attempt to stall out the sun. Leafeon can take advantage of these switches, however, as it can use the turn as an opportunity to set up Swords Dance.

Team Options
========

Leafeon can be used on both balance and sun teams in need of a sweeper or wallbreaker. Special wallbreakers such as Magmortar, Aurorus, and Drampa can help with the physical walls that give Leafeon trouble such as Weezing and Gourgeist-XL, while Leafeon can help with specially defensive Pokemon such as Clefairy and Lanturn. Magmortar and Aurorus can also help against Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Mawile, as can other Steel-type checks such as Primeape and Gurdurr. Fast Pokemon such as Archeops appreciate Leafeon's (changed apostrophe) ability to break through bulkier foes such as Regirock and Gastrodon, allowing them to more easily clean up the match.

Other Options
=============

Z-Celebrate is an option that boosts all of Leafeon's (changed apostrophe) stats by +1, allowing it to sweep more easily, although at the cost of giving up Swords Dance or Knock Off and making it much less of a wallbreaker.

===================

If Leafeon's Z-Move is already used up, certain physically defensive walls such as Weezing and Lurantis do not mind taking any of Leafeon’s attacks and can KO or cripple it with Will-O-Wisp or Toxic. Sableye has priority in Will-O-Wisp to cripple Leafeon and Taunt to stop it from setting up. Other bulky Pokemon such as Miltank and Gurdurr can take a hit and deal a decent amount of damage, and Miltank can further shut down Leafeon with Sap Sipper and cripple it Toxic or Thunder Wave.

However, they do not like having to take a Leaf Blade or Double-Edge, and if not running Choice Scarf, they often find themselves switching out immediately.

sorry this took like 7 years. make sure to use straight apostrophes ' and not curly ones. also removed a bunch of banned mon mentions; remember to update this if magmortar gets banned
