I think from discussions, Champions is gonna be different enough that this metagame can be preserved in some way shape or form.

I assume this would still be a petmod, but after we get all the Mega abilities, we’ll just use them.

From datamines yes. Or HOME can be datamined when the update drops on April 8

Would the Mega Evolution change mean that you intimidate a Pokemon before they switch out? I’m pretty sure that would nerf Mega Manectric.

The only Mega Evolutions that benefit from the change are Mega Lopunny and Mega Gallade. Now, if Incineroar enters in the battle, it won't be affected by Intimidate.

On Manectric, this would mean that you could intimidate and then your opponent switches out.
