when manetric had hp ice, it couldnt just volt switch out on any pokemon it wanted & thats the main issue it personally finds with being able to hit ground types, realistically it isnt really enjoyable to not rlly have a consistent way of being able to stop manetric clicking tbolt/volt switch constantly but maybe its just dumb & bad.
We already had this conversation before. It would be FAR from broken if it could click Volt Switch and hit Ground types. It's not that strong and can't hold boots.

had a quick look back in the thread and it seemed like there was some1 arguing itd be rlly broken & u were arguing that it wouldnt be, tbh not sure what to make of that but even if it wasnt too broken it just sounds rlly restricting and unfun to play against & within a for fun meta that sounds rlly toxic.

It really doesn't change the meta all too much in grand scheme of things. There are already tons of Pokemon with pivoting options. You got Flip Turn, U-Turn, and Parting Shot on a bunch of Pokemon already. And hazard stacking to punish pivoting around is pretty easy with Meowstic.

flip & u-turn are both physical contact moves which means they take damage from rocky helmet/rough skin. flip turn also cannot hit volcanion & vaporeon while being resisted by a bunch of the tiers defensive mons. u-turn has no pokemon that are immune to it but the type is significantly worse than water offensively. A volt switch that ignores the ground immunity is not only much better typing than both flip & uturn, but is also not contact so you do not have the same direct punishment.

OK hear me out:

Mega Evolution: Mega Houdoom :Houndoom-mega:
New Ability: ~NO GUARD~
Reasoning:
A hellhound spamming Inferno not only looks and feels cool as hell, but also gives houdoom a niche that doesn't exist anywere in Pokémon, making it viable and an actually good mega with insane anti-stall tatics.

Still managable by some special walls like Blissey, Heatran, Garga... shit movepool, and a not so fast speed tier (115 is good, but many mons already surpass that), still countered and checked by special greninja (unless sun is up), speed wake, M-Dragonite, M-Emboar and mainly Covert Cloak.

Sun makes it even better, but it comes at the cost of the best sun-setter that is also a mega

I know this meta is not necessarily representative of what the future "official" meta will be, but some of the placements feel weird. Like why is base chesnaught out but not the mega? And how is mega barbaracle uu? With shell smash plus those stats, tough claws, and high BP moves and arguably the best offensive type in the game...I know obviously blastoise has a different role as a special attacker, but still it's considered broken with shell smash but barbaracle with shell smash, higher stats, and stronger stab is in UU? It's odd

These aren't done by the council, the UU Pokemon follow the usage stats from October, and not enough people used Mega Chesnaught or Barbaracle for them to be ranked in ou.
