SPOILERS! Legends ZA Data Dumps - Adding Info to OP

Out of curiosity, I just went through the list of mega pokemon and out of all of them, there are only 24/74 (less than a third of the megas) that didn't increase both offenses, and that's specifically being generous and including dragonite and zygarde, who lower their main attacking stat to boost the one they originally didn't use.

And then only a third of those (alakazam, gengar, mewtwo x, heracross, houndoom, mawile, aggron, and manectric) were in the first batch of 30 megas introduced in X and Y (26.66%). So it is actually a tradition to waste stats, yeah.

And even jokes aside it does make some sense. As a design conceit they want a consistent +100* so they (usually) have an idea of what they want to REALLY boost, more so than a normal evolution might do, they don't (usually) want to minmax. So they either try to even out the other stats (will Mega Alakazam REALLY survive a lot extra thanks to that +20 def? unlikely) or dump extra into a "potentially useful" useless stat

*Aside from Mega Zygarde since....I guess they dont want anything to break the 800 barrier?

ORAS has the most optimized stat spread of the megas. An easy example would be Gardevoir getting +20 in Atk in comparison to Gallade who has no Spa increase. I do admit ZA has some very odd/dissapointing stat distributions like Malamar/Victreebel.

I have a Victreebel on my Team and switched it using its Mega Stone and Mega to Big Roots with my Giga Drain/Leech Life/Sludge Wave, Razor Leaf set and its an unkillable tank.
Should I move back to use the Mega?

That would be nice. With the leaked list of DLC mons having a lot of regional forms, I hope some of the portals let us go to a small map of various regions. I would love to be able to shiny hunt alolan marowak

Catching up on the thread now, what is the most up to date/reliable leak for all new (to ZA) Pokemon in the upcoming DLC?

And do we know if Mewtwo's distribution will be before the DLC release or later?

We don’t know. Could go either way, but the DLC releases in two weeks, so the window is shrinking fast.

Will Hoopa just be available as a character or can you catch one? Not seeing it on the list or image.

Yeah the time to DLC is coming up. I guess Mewtwo will be post DLC and before the Champions release.

Will Hoopa just be available as a character or can you catch one? Not seeing it on the list or image.

It hasn’t been confirmed, but I’d be really surprised if it weren’t obtainable, especially considering that Legends: Arceus made all five of Sinnoh’s Mythicals obtainable.

The reason why Hoopa isn’t on that list is because the list is derived from the Pokédex entries that are stubbed in the current game version’s data. Essentially, it’s a list of Pokemon that do have a Dex entry, but have had the information removed (as opposed to just not having an entry at all, which means not being compatible with the game). That’s how we can conclude that the Pokémon in the list are the ones that will become compatible once the DLC releases. However, Diancie, Hoopa, and Volcanion were all already fully included in the base game’s Pokédex without being stubbed, which is why we already know what Hoopa and Volcanion’s entries say even though they haven’t been made available, whereas we don’t know what the Dex entry for, say, Baxcalibur is.

Hoopa Confined: It uses loops to gather things it likes and take them to its secret home. It also teleports through a loop.

Hoopa Unbound: This is Hoopa's true form, in which it has regained its sealed powers. The hole in its chest is said to connect to another dimension.

Volcanion: It expels its internal steam from the arms on its back. It has enough power to blow away a mountain.

Maybe Darkrai getting a Speed nerf is because there is going give it No Guard as an abillity to make Dark Void 100% accurate again? Bae 85 would be really fast for a 100% sleep inducer. Payback against Smeargle.
I really feel they are gunna go all in on making accurate spread sleep Mega Darkrai's gimmick. They hate fast sleep these days; just look at Toedscruel, so this is probably the compromise to making Dark Void not ass on him anymore. Which I'm ok with tbh.
