Liepard

It doesn't get dark pulse. Aside from Hp Dark it doesn't get any Special Dark STAB

It does get one.

55 BP / 95 Acc / 15 PP
It yells at an opponent for a long time and lowers their Special Attack.

It has Low base power and 95 Accuracy but lowers special attack when it hits. I really wish this cat got technician too

Except that that thing is an event TM, so we won't get our hands on it for a long time.

Learning that fact makes me more disappointed in this Pokemon than I was before. Which I didn't thank was possible.

Not that the move is worth it anyways. The better plan is to go for HP Dark. If it lowered SpDEF then I'd consider it useful. A Dark Seed Flare sounds pretty scary.

Well, in all anyways, I still think Nasty Plot Leparadesu still warrants a threat against unprepared teams with a set-up sweeper move, which is relatively common considering Terakion, Scizor, Lucario, and friends. Encore, set up a Nasty Plot, and make as deep as an impact as possible.

Leparadesu @ Life Orb
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 Def
~Encore
~Nasty Plot
~Hidden Power Fighting
~Shadow Ball

Priority Assist for Dragon Tail Sweep

Lol good luck with that.

Seriously, a cat does have a heart, huh? And it's a pure Dark-type. No Dark Pulse = yet another masterpiece by Troll Freak

I guess she's gonna end up like the cats in previous generations, such as Persian and Purugly. Not much space for a huge boost in the 3rd installment either.

Shame that Leperadusu didn't get Dark Pulse. If it only it stayed as an HM, rather than being kicked off by Ice Breath, then it would've been viable in the Nasty Plot set. It does make a good lead, though.

Unless you use Focus Sash (and you can get OHKOs...) priority is going mess her up. Also she's a bit slow and frail to Nasty Plot. Gengar can Focus Blast her, I'll bet LO Starmie can get a OHKO with surf. I don't know UU Pokémon very well, but it can't to a happy story with Hitmontop in that teir. Technician Mach Punch would surely OHKO.

Does anyone know how Trickery calculates damage? I was surprised when a Gyarados switched into Swagger and promptly got KO'd next turn by Trickery despite the Intimidate attack drop.

Trickery uses the opponent's Attack stat instead of your own. Therefore, Lepardas was attacking with a stat of (probably) 383 with +2 Attack.

I'm shocked no one has mentioned the "Lepardn00bsu" set:

Lepardusu@Leftovers/Lum Berry
Mischievous Heart
252 HP/252 SPE/4 whatever
-Assist
-Roar
-Substitute
-Protect

Wow gamefreak really hates cats... Trickery seems like the best move to use because...Lepurduse suckzzzzz! When you have a worse movepool then ice creammon And don't have the stats to sweep a team of luvdisc...your a waste of space...sorry kitty, but you suck...:(:(:(:(

Let's see. I'm thinking that Mischievous Heart Lepardas, with Torment, Encore, Pursuit, and perhaps Roar or Thunder Wave, could be of some use.

A Mischievous Heart'd Torment could effectively stop a Choiced anything cold by coming in on a revenge switch, and then you could Pursuit it as it switches. Or if the thing isn't choiced, Torment followed by Encore would do much the same.

Like I said in my last post(which is incredibly stupid) trickery seems like the best option. Not only does it have a higher base power, but it doesn't run off it's low attack stat. Can someone do some damage calcs on how much trickery would do to come threats and leads? Please. 0:)

It's still not fair how the ugly dogs stats are higher then the pretty cats...

Now I know that Lepardas has a crappy move pool, but I will tell you one thing this poke did against me. It swept a Garchomp, Doryuzu, and Nidoking by itself. How? It was female and used Attract/Swagger/T-wave/Trickery and turned all my own power ups against me. I was winning 3-to-1 and out of nowhere this thing comes along and I couldn't do a damn thing!

The most annoying fight I've ever had some guy set up hazards and then Substituted and kept using Assist Roar and Whirlwind. You can't do a damn thing. Even with priority moves you need a pokemon with a priority attack that is faster than Lepardasu, that has what, base 116 speed? That's really high.

Believe it or not I actually WON that fight after he ran out of PP thanks to abusing Wish and some other moves. Dear God though it was so annoying.

So any sufficiently annoying set with Lepardas should include Roar?

I'm thinking Roar, Torment, Encore, and Trickery?

No assist roar. Roar will have priority over other peoples roar, but mischievous heart doesn't make it go before regular attacks. Only counter I've seen for a roar set like that is extreme speed... the +2 priority makes all the difference (oh and sound proof / suction cups)

Hmm... That would require much of the team to have Roar/Whirlwind, right?

I guess I can use Thunder Wave instead of Assist if I don't want to build the team around Roar.

Assist/Whirlwind does require the entire team to be built around it. I saw a good one that used no moves that Assist could select other than Roar/Whirlwind by making use of Copycat to set up Stealth Rock, had TTar for Sandstorm and then Lefties on Leopard. Obviously that requires your opponent to be running hazards and some good prediction, though.

Ah, here's the true thread. Anyways, I think Fake Out (Normal Gem) Unburden Trickery kitty deserves special mention.

Counter Cat:
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Unburden
Item: Normal Gem
EVs: HP and Speed
Moves:
Fake Out
Trickery
Swagger/Thunderwave
Filler: Encore?

Not really a core centerpiece to any team, but certainly has a niche. Fake Out activates Unburden's 2x speed boost, allowing it to out speed most threats that have not boosted their speed to a +2 level. Then, thanks to Trickery's usage of the opponent's attack stat, allows Lepardas to deal some significant damage to non-steel/dark/fighting types. However, it can be noted that Lepardas with an Unburden boost will outspeed Dory. Fake out can help pop his balloon and Encore can lock him into swords dance.

Swagger/Thunderwave can be used for predictions of a Special switch.
