i get really, really uneasy considering the idea that i might die. that one day i will be 80 years old and thinking back to this moment writing this post, remembering it like it were only yesterday, yet decades have past.

moments before i die i'm sure i will feel calm and at peace (hopefully??) and i won't be afraid to welcome death. sometimes i like the idea of reincarnation and starting anew because an entire life/experiences being obliterated in a fatal breath seems really, really sad. but there are lots of really sad things in the world, and lives being easily snuffed out and replaced with the future seems like a simple process that humans have the burden of understanding and developing emotions about.

Given my experience with the close minded crowd of smogon I'm going to spare a philosophical enlightenment and simply vote that there is certainly something more to the universe than our 3rd dimensional biological vessels.

DMT

ooo I didn't see the serious tag in it that changes everything!!!

Shit, any psychedelic really can give you that "there's more to it" feeling.

we simply have no idea about what happens after death, so I just distract myself from it (I refuse to have what ultimately would be a subjective and amygdala-driven opinion on it). What disturbs me more than death itself is my complete inability to imagine lack of consciousness.

Boltzmann brains do allow within our understanding of the world for the potential to perpetuate consciousness beyond death, but then the unresolved issue of whether such a brain would still be you arises.

I believe in some sort of afterlife mainly because the idea of complete and total lack of consciousness kind of scares me.
