Pet Mod Like A Muse To Flame (Slate 11 Submissions!)

Design A: PalpitoadChamp's Gibblit, Cyaneedle's Maustoy (SV)
Design B: DenebStargazer's Vespark, PalpitoadChamp's Beece, Cyaneedle's Waspier. (SV)

there's 2 guys and the weird spirit. y'hear that? it's odd.

Well, we didn't warn you, this was a really short vote...AND IT'S CLOSED ALREADY! So, another two-vote wonder, but at least this one's a lot closer...let's see which tiny terrors are the real deal! And this time, there's no need for a tiebreaker!

zljkJ38.png

First up, with two votes for it, PalpitoadChamp's Gibblit will now be the identity of Design A! This tiny little Poison-type has loads of utility up it's belt, including recovery, Toxic Spikes, Bouncy Bubble, Parting Shot, and Magic Bounce! Oh, and if that wasn't enough, it can Baton Pass Nasty Plot as well. Is it a rat, or a mouse?
QtvczW4.png

And, with three votes to it's name, Design B will now go by the name of Waspier, made by Cyaneedle! This Bug/Fighting type is the fastest Pokémon we've seen in this metagame so far, and specializes in setting up entry hazards, especially with it's signature move Beesless Edge, which is clearly a pun of Hisuain Samurott's Ceaseless Edge!
Thank you for voting! Gibblit and Waspier will be added to the database soon! The next slate will be ready soon, and believe me...it's going to be our biggest one yet...literally!

SLATE 5: TITANS OF TOMORROW
“Moving on to the opposite side of the scale, there seems to be a trend in every generation that, before any of the small Pokémon have their evolutions revealed, a large Pokémon designed to fight against the older friends is revealed. Because of it’s size, strength, and abilities compared to the small fry revealed alongside, most people would consider it on their final team, solely because the other options hadn’t been revealed yet. Indeed, this trend was how Corviknight was playable on Showdown before Sword and Shield’s release in the first place, because it was the only new Pokémon that was strong enough to keep up with the others…and yet, be revealed. Other Pokémon revealed through this trend include Vikavolt, Cetitan, Haxorus, and, yes…technically, the box Legendary Pokémon.”
Therefore, it is only appropriate that the designs for this slate are really big...I designed these three to be similar to Pokémon that get revealed at the start of a reveal period, but how will they fare having been revealed four slates too late?

DESIGN C:

BUT, THAT'S NOT ALL....A SPECIAL...CROSSOVER?!

As you may have heard, Sugarbear has recently announced that he can no longer have the time to run his Pet Mod, VGC20XX, and is considering having the moderators lock the thread. A shame...I had some sprites ready for submissions that I was going to create for the future slates there. Well, we'd figured this would be the perfect timing to allow the first ever sprite here made by another user to join the metagame (Once you've brought it to life, of course) alongside two other sprites I had made for VGC20XX...yes, that does mean this slate has SIX designs to work with!!! (But this is just a one-off: We'll be back to three designs in slate 6...ironically. In the Database, these designs will be marked with B while the first three will be marked with A)
DESIGN D, WHICH WAS MADE BY DUOM2:

1755472430353.png

DESIGN E: (THIS ONE HAS TWO FORMS: YOUR DESIGN MUST UTILIZE BOTH OF THEM!)

DESIGN F:

You have until Sunday the 24th Tuesday the 26th of August to cast your submissions...GOOD LUCK!
CODERS WANTED!
Now that the metagame has 12 Pokémon in it, it is ready to enter DragonHaven! To do that, however, first I need a coder to program the custom moves and abilities in. I can handle the rest with Scoopapa's special code generator, (https://scoopapa.github.io/PS-Spreadsheet-to-JS/) but, argghhh, if only he'd change "species" to "name"! PM me if you have what it takes...(As a reminder, the database can be accessed here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gNBQ4xjOZ0_K7Je5T1kXjslORN9_-Wzytgks0MfZszY/edit?usp=sharing)
This slate is dedicated in loving memory of Sugarbear's VGC20XX. (August 2024 - August 2025) We'll never forget you...

Male Barricrab compete with one another over who has the largest and most impressive shield.

Flavor: Said to be born when a potted plant is neglected by its owner and perishes. A resentful spirit drives it to seek revenge on its owner and anyone else who mistreats plants. Don't forget to water your houseplants!

For unknown reasons, sightings of Geezeyarr are higher in areas where Elgyem and Beheeyem are present.

We told you this would be our biggest slate yet...and now, it's our longest one too! Due to situations beyond our control, (Totally not due to the fact that I'm spending another day on holiday) the deadline for submissions has changed! You now have until Tuesday the 26th* to create your submissions, and voting will begin on that day instead. Therefore, the next slate will begin after voting concludes on Wednesday the 27th instead. Don't worry...we'll be back to normal on the next slate. GOOD LUCK!
*While unlikely, it could be Monday instead

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED!
....Or, if I have access to Discord again, we might as well close it a day early! Come one, come all, tally them all up! You've got six entries to vote for this time, and luckily none of them have been decided right away. So, here's the entries competing to be the actual looks of the giants of the land:
DESIGN A: (Another Dragon-type is getting in no matter who wins)
LxEQLRW.png

Cyaneedle's Elemantra
PalpitoadChamp's Hydough
Emergence's Trinidra
DESIGN B: (Both of the submissions for this design were Poison-types)
gUdgdZ8.png

PalpitoadChamp's Parronk
Emergence's Toxsquid
DESIGN C:
7VBPfa4.png

PalpitoadChamp's Craydon't
Emergence's Barricrab
DESIGN D: (THE ONE DUOM2 MADE!)

1755571595606.png

PalpitoadChamp's Boggurt
Emergence's Dreadmire
anaconja's Swarmmoth
DESIGN E: (One of my former VGC20XX submissions)

1755570191844.png
1755570197693.png

Orangesodapop's Maliramic
Emergence's Monsterror
anaconja's Tendrug (DRUG?! How did this one get past QA?)
DESIGN F: (Another of my former VGC20XX submissions: Both of the below submissions are part Steel-type, so the metal drought is finally over)
kW2SJte.png

Orangesodapop's Rubbouncer
Emergence's Geezeyarr

Remember, for this vote, the topmost submission of each design in your vote will count as two votes, and you cannot put your own submission as the top vote. For example, if you were to copy the above text exactly, then Elemantra, Parronk, Craydon't, Boggurt, Maliramic, and Rubbouncer would get two votes instead of one. Also, this time, six Pokémon are joining the metagame instead of three, so keep that in mind! The submissions with the most votes in each design will enter the metagame.
Voting will last until either tomorrow or Wednesday, depending on how many votes we get...regardless of the day, though, you should expect them to close at around 12:00 to 13:00 early, or 18:00 to 0:00 midnight late. We will then return to the normal three designs per slate for the next slate...hopefully. GOOD LUCK!

Design A: Cyaneedle's Elemantra, Emergence's Trinidra, PalpitoadChamp's Hydough
Design B
: PalpitoadChamp's Parronk, Emergence's Toxsquid
Design C
: PalpitoadChamp's Craydon't, Emergence's Barricrab
Design D
: PalpitoadChamp's Boggurt, anaconja's Swarmmoth, Emergence's Dreadmire
Design E
: Orangesodapop's Maliramic, Emergence's Monsterror, anaconja's Tendrug
Design F
: Orangesodapop's Rubbouncer, Emergence's Geezeyarr

A: Cyaneedle, PalpitoadChamp (sv)
B: abstaining
C: abstaining
D: anaconja, PalpitoadChamp (sv)
E: Orangesodapop, anaconja
F: Orangesodapop

Boy, it seems like it's two votes from here every time...OH WELL! THE VOTES ARE NOW CLOSED, so let's see which of these entries are winners, the true identities of the titans of the five! Strap in, folks, this is going to be a long one...

LxEQLRW.png

So, first, with three votes, Design A will now be known as Elemantra, who was made by Cyaneedle! This Dragon/Normal defensive mixed breaker has a very wide variety of coverage to suit it's weaknesses, including the ability to set up Snow despite not being an Ice-type. Watch out for those Blizzards...
gUdgdZ8.png

Next up, Design B will now go by the name of Parronk, who PalpitoadChamp put together! Don't let the fact it shares it's Poison/Dark typing with Dastapose fool you, for it's Levitate makes it have no weaknesses at all, and it's signature move, which might be a bit hard to say out in public, can give it's foes an item they didn't want at all! If we compare Parronk to Dastapose, Dastapose has higher defenses and HP, but Parronk takes it home in offenses and speed. Pick your poison, they always say...
7VBPfa4.png

Also by PalpitoadChamp, we have Craydon't, who takes the identity of Design C! This big Water/Dark Adaptability breaker is...a....hey, hold on a minute, it has the exact same stats, abilities, movepool, and typing as our good Hoenn friend Crawdaunt! That Pokémon was a formidable wallbreaker and setup sweeper in SV RU, and was UU in the previous three generations before it, but how will it fare here in this micrometa?

1755571595606.png

Moving on to the three designs that were late additions, first up for DuoM2's own design D...hey, we have a tie! PalpitoadChamp's Boggurt and anaconja's Swarmmoth both got three votes each...oh well, we'll settle it in the next slate with a tiebreaker!
0cFl4Wr.png
MXU7jUW.png

But luckily, the other two are winners from all angles...congratulations, Design E! You will now be known as Maliramic, who was made by Orangesodapop! Surprisingly, this Pokémon is not a Grass-type: Instead, it's a Dark/Steel type that uses it's Disguise to launch a wide variety of coverage moves while it has it's disguise up. Think twice before trying to use Sucker Punch on it...
kW2SJte.png

Finally, also by Orangesodapop, Design F will now be known as Rubbouncer! Dethroning Geklow as having the highest HP of anyone in the metagame, this defensive Steel/Psychic type can disable pivoting moves and Electric moves with it's Rubber Shield, and it also has access to Wish for utility. Beware it's STAB Psyshield Bash!
Thank you for voting! Elemantra, Parronk, Craydon't, Maliramic, and Rubbouncer will all be joining the database soon, remember to take them into account when designing your future entries! The next slate will be ready very soon, so start thinking sooner than later...

SLATE 6: THE HIDDEN TREASURE OF "EH, NOW THEY TELL US!"
“There are cases where incomplete information can lead to us believing the many ways in which a form can be accessed, or even believing a form is another Pokémon entirely. Mega Mewtwo Y, the first Mega Evolution to ever be revealed, is a prime example of this: Even the official sources called it it’s “Awakened Form” before the reveal of Mega Evolution itself. However, this slate draws inspiration from the ultimate form of misinformation, Terapagos’s base form. When it first appeared before Liko in the Horizons anime, the Pokémon Company claimed that it was a separate Pokémon, only hinting that it would appear in the Indigo Disk. We believed that for a time, and some of us even gave it a separate name from Terapagos itself. Then, a few months later, a bombshell was dropped: Turns out, it wasn’t a new Pokemon at all, but rather Terapagos’s base form, one that couldn’t even fight because of it’s own ability transforming it right away. (Though, on the plus side, this did meant that if Terapagos appeared in a future Pokémon game, only it’s Stellar Form would be inaccessible) And thus, the pendant that would eventually become Pagogo taught us more than just the glory of Laqua…that we should always double check for similarities before jumping to conclusions.”
So, drawing inspiration from Pagogo, you may find these next three designs might remind you of other Pokémon...or are they? That's up to you to decide for these up and going nominees...

TIEBREAKER! (NOT PART OF THIS SLATE)
1755571595606.png

It turns out that the longest slate yet is going to be even longer...we need your help to decide whether Design D belongs to either PalpitoadChamp's Boggurt, or anaconja's Swarmmoth. Put the name of the one you wish to win in your post before Friday!
A REMINDER OF THE CODERS, PLUS...A METAGAME REVIEW!
Help is wanted! While we are still looking for coders to program in the custom moves and abilities, we are also starting to consider putting a council together to review the metagame itself and see who's broken, and who's...well, pristine! If you have what it takes, either PM me, or write about it in the discord...good luck!

Only one entry so far? What madness is this? Speaking of madness, though, the tiebreaker for Design D from the previous slate is now over, and by one measily vote (Third time's the charm) PalpitoadChamp's Boggurt takes DuoM2's design home! This Poison/Fairy type has the unique ability to copy the ability of the last Pokémon in your party until it gets hit, providing it with a versatile range of options to complement it's recovery and bulk! (Though does anyone notice that with Boggurt winning the tiebreaker, half of the winning entries of Slate 5 are owned by PalpitoadChamp?) You'll find it in the database, so remember to take it into account when designing your entries!

And, as a reminder's reminder: The submissions will be closing this Sunday! We'll back to normal timings next week, so get those submissions in before it's too late!

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED!
Well, the fake news are over (Despite us not having any this slate, hah!) and now it is time to....hold on a rotten pickin' minute....
WE ONLY GOT ONE SUBMISSION THIS SLATE?!
WHAT MADNESS IS THIS?!

I guess this is what you get for starting the slate on Wednesday instead of waiting until next week to start it...luckily, our only submitter for this slate, PalipitoadChamp, made an entry for each of the three designs. So...I guess they all win by default! Let's see what he made, for they better be the right choice...
1756300446468.png

First, for Design A, we have Ganoni! This Dragon/Fighting Ganondorf wannabe has amazing stats (In fact, he's the first Pokémon in this metagame to have a BST of 600!) and Regenerator, but does'nt have many good options asides from pure brute force with moves like Darkest Lariat (That can be boosted by his Dark Aura) Dragon Hammer, and Draining Kiss for a bit of lifesteal. He also has Aura Break in case of a mirror match!
1756515552883.png

Next up, Design B will know be known as Twonicorn. This Normal/Fairy-type may suck at attacking, but it has loads of utility by being able to set up screens, switch enemies out, set up Spikes, inflict status conditions with Toxic and Will-O-Wisp, and use Teleport to take a blow for it's own. It has Misty Surge as well to help protect your team from status conditions. If you're feeling real crazy, you can use it's signature move Wrath of the Twonicorn, which swaps it's offenses and defenses around, make it faster, and allows to use a wide variety of coverage moves: Oh, and it does a fixed 111 damage when used. Also, keep it well away from the AG world, for it has access to the Lock-On and Horn Drill combo...

1756516400248.png

Finally, taking Design C home is the Pokémon known as Basswurmm! Possessing a frightening 150 Attack, this Cubone eater may move slow, but if it can use it's Earthquake, whatever it hits usually stays down! It also has access to Fire Fang and Ice Fang, Knock Off, Stealth Rock, and Spikes. It can help support Poisoners with Merciless, or go to town in Sandstorms with Sand Force.
You can find Ganoni, Twonicorn, and Basswurmm in the database soon. Yeah, it didn't go down to pot...But look on the bright side, that does mean the next slate can start soon! It better be better than this...

SLATE 7: EXTRATERRESTIAL INVADERS FROM BEYOND THE GALLERY!
“It was the reveal period of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, and we didn’t expect to see the move that the Pokémon Company would soon pull in front us. One fateful trailer, the Pokémon Company showed us two new Ultra Beasts, UB Assembly and UB Burst, which would be fitting as an expansion to the group, as the two games are upgraded versions of the original Sun and Moon. But past information allowed us to determine that the Ultra Beasts were Pokémon…and thus, we were astounded. Pokémon had done the impossible…for the first time in history, they had added new Pokémon in the middle of a generation, and not for the next one. (We’re looking at you, Bonsly and Munchlax) And it didn’t stop there, for UB Adhesive was later revealed in another trailer, and datamining discovered not just it’s evolution, but also Zeraora, a Pokémon who would star in a movie that started an unfortunate trend, that the movies would forget that Ash Ketchum had any Pokémon other than his trusty Pikachu. But, still…the future was widened by the fact that we now knew that once all the Pokémon in a generation had been revealed…there was still room for more.”
On the last day of August, our three strangest designs yet have emerged from the great unknown to call back to this miraculous moment. Are they are undiscovered Ultra Beasts, aliens from beyond the stars, or just regular predators? That's up to your imagination to find out...

This is your fair reminder that the submissions will be closing this Sunday! Get them in before it's too late...while it's a good thing we've got more than one submitter this time, we really don't want any default winners for these extraterrestial abstract monsters that would make even Pablo Picasso proud!
Cr5ABcs.png
1756651203081.png
1756651655924.png

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED!
Well...two is better than one, I can tell you that! So, even with very few submissions, you can still decide the true identities of these abstract creatures that even Salvador Dali would wince at!

Cr5ABcs.png

But before we begin, sadly, (Or not!) We have a default winner...PalpitoadChamp (Hmmm, I'm seeing a pattern here) was the only one who made an entry for Design A, so his design wins by default! It's called Buuring, and it's a Poison/Fighting Ultra Beast that can use Rapid Spin, Acid Armor, Body Press, and Dragon Dance together for a wide variety of sets, but is said to really allergic to Psyshocks. We shall dub it UB Toro! You can find it in the database soon, remember to take it into account when designing your future entries!
But for the other two, it's the weighted coin flip gone all wrong...in all the right ways! Here are your voting options this time:

DESIGN B: (Both of the submissions we got were Grass-types)
Yy1TZch.png

PalpitoadChamp's Mossear
Cyaneedle's Cattailyst

DESIGN C:

rIJYNh2.png

PalpitoadChamp's Rainmaw
Cyaneedle's Fabuluster

Remember, for this vote, the topmost submission of each design in your vote will count as two votes, and you cannot put your own submission as the top vote. For example, if you were to copy the above text exactly, then Mossear and Rainmaw would get two votes instead of one. The submissions with the most votes in each design will enter the metagame.
Voting will last until tomorrow, hopefully...(With the votes planning to close around 11:00 GMT) GOOD LUCK!

DESIGN B:
PalpitoadChamp's Mossear
Cyaneedle's Cattailyst (SV)

DESIGN C:
PalpitoadChamp's Rainmaw
Cyaneedle's Fabuluster(SV)

THE VOTES ARE NOW CLOSED! Well, two is always better than one, though some day we've got to replicate the number of votes we had for Slate 2...anyway, it's time to announce the remaining two winners of the abstract apocalypse!
Yy1TZch.png

Design B, congratulations, you will now be known as Mossear...who was made by PalpitoadChamp. Amazingly, this Fire/Grass Ultra Beast is the new king of both speed and HP, capable of putting it's enemies to sleep or using Defog to get rid of enemy hazards! But...it's also kind of a hurt-all as well, as it's best STAB is Chloroblast...We hereby dub this one UB Cotton!
rIJYNh2.png

But with three votes apiece, Design C remains a mystery! Next slate, there will be a tiebreaker on whether this little fella will be Cyaneedle's Fabuluster or PalpitoadChamp's Rainmaw...we listed the former first because we really don't want this to be another PalpitoadChamp fruit and nut case!
Either way, thank you for voting! But it seems like, with the past few slates, the more ridiculous your design looks, the less likely people are going to have a submission for you...maybe the next slate, coming very soon, will rectify that!
