Pet Mod Like A Muse To Flame (Slate 11 Submissions!)

SLATE 8: THE FUTURE OF HYPE
“The greatest gift for a Pokémon’s reveal is having it be featured in an area of the generation before the generation it was going to release in. There have been many examples of this in the past, and all have amazed us with what the next generation could bring. In Generation 1, Ho-Oh provided us with the first sign that the franchise would expand beyond 151 Pokémon, Togepi provided Misty with the companion she needed, and Lugia, who was originally built for it’s debut movie, showed the full potential of the legendary birds. In Generation 2, Latias and Latios made the stars of the film about heroes, and Harrison’s Blaziken, notably the only fully evolved starter to appear in an area of Pokémon before it’s debut generation, shook the Silver Conference. In Generation 3, Munchlax was caught by May before any of us could, Bonsly soon followed in the care of Brock and Mime Jr in the care of James, and Lucario, one of the most popular Pokémon to exist, kickstarted thousands of fanfictions with his debut film, while Manaphy spearheaded Pokémon Ranger with it’s unique quest. Not to mention, Bonsly was even useable in XD’s Battle Bingo. Generation 4 brought Zorua and Zoroark to the big screen with a method to obtain it that required HeartGold and SoulSilver, and Generation 6 introduced Magearna, who notably got a card before Sun and Moon was even revealed. While these kinds of reveals have since died out…no-one knows if they have died forever. And the lesson to learn from this...is to always have high hopes for those who have been revealed before their games have.”
These are your next three designs itching to join the metagame: They might look like they're too good to be in this generation...and that's because they are. Remember, take all the previous winners into account when designing them all! So, without further ado, here they are:
DESIGN A:
koqqPJU.png

DESIGN B:
zcBvFSs.png

DESIGN C:
E8ZiUUN.png

You have until Sunday the 14th of September to cast your submissions...GOOD LUCK!
TIEBREAKER! (NOT PART OF THIS SLATE)

rIJYNh2.png

Design C from the previous slate is under another vote, this time between Cyaneedle's Fabuluster and PalpitoadChamp's Rainmaw! Cast your vote by listing it's name before Wednesday Friday, but I'd prefer you'd vote for the former for the sake of us not having "Oh, please, PalpitoadChamp owns two slates?"
COUNCIL STILL WANTED!
Now that this metagame is seven slates old, we really need someone to look at our list of Pokémon and see if anyone's the king, or needs a buff! Not to mention, those custom moves and abilities still need to be coded in. If you have what it takes, PM me at Discord!

Flavor: She never practiced her magic very much, instead just hitting people with her broom. Now, it has awakened into her JoJo's Bizarre Adventure stand and still just hits people for her.
Competitive: Big attack Mon with low other stats. Can use SD & Broom Swipe for deviating effects. Also packs Psychopomp for causing the target intensive chip damage. Technician is really potent for making its stabs crazy good, but Regenerator gives it recovery without taking a moveslot. Lacks pivoting so I feel like Technician is the better option.
Broom Swipe: Psychic, Physical, 40 Bp, 100 Acc, 20 (32) pp, Has +1 priority. Bypasses protection.
Psychopomp: Psychic, Physical, 60 Bp, 100 Acc, 20 (32) pp, Has a 30% chance to inflict Psychosis until they switch out. A Pokemon affected by Psychosis has 1/3 recoil on all of their attacks. If they don't attack on a turn, they lose 1/6 of their max Hp.

Now's the time for all good men to close the tiebreaker and...huh, what the?! Both contenders got one vote each? Well, we can't let fate or random number generators decide Design C's identity without it looking too much like a fluke, so instead, we'll give it more time...the tiebreaker's deadline has been delayed to Friday! But you still have until Sunday to cast your submissions...good luck!

1757340659240.png

Now it's time for the tiebreaker to close again...wait, no submissions since the tiebreaker got delayed? Well, in that case...we give up.
No, not on the Pet Mod, but the tiebreaker. We'll have to settle this the old fashioned way...
Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Moe, on the account of a random generator's woe, pick one at random like a little lass, for Design C will now be known as....
...
Fabuluster! Cyaneedle's entry wins the random number generator's favor, and is now the real identity of Design C from the previous slate! This special wall has the never before seen combination of Luster Purge and Serene Grace, meaning if it connects, it will almost always lower the target's Special Defence on hit! It's also a Psychic/Fairy, so Dragons are going to have a hard time getting past it, especially Ganoni! You can find him on the database soon....
1757333544944.png
1757334536625.png
1757334556881.png

But, for the rest of you....this is a fair reminder that you have until this Sunday to cast your submissions! While we are guaranteed a vote for all three designs this time...let's not make it a two-sided ballot this time, OK?

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED!
Well, well, it appears we've struck coal again...but at least there are no default winners this time. We got two submitters when the slate began, and then none after that, but regardless, it's time for you to decide who the real identity of these challengers from the future are!
DESIGN A: (Both entries are Dark-types....in a metagame where we have six of them already!)
1757333544944.png

PalpitoadChamp's True Edge
Cyaneedle's Precipierce
DESIGN B: (Of which both of the candidates are Water-type)

1757334536625.png

PalpitoadChamp's Whale Jockey
Cynaeedle's Torittillery
DESIGN C:
1757334556881.png

PalpitoadChamp's Broomish
Cyaneedle's Witika

Remember, for this vote, the topmost submission of each design in your vote will count as two votes, and you cannot put your own submission as the top vote. For example, if you were to copy the above text exactly, then True Edge, Whale Jockey, and Broomish would get two votes instead of one. The submissions with the most votes in each design will enter the metagame.
Voting will last until tomorrow, hopefully...GOOD LUCK!

it's kinda quiet here.

DESIGN A (ow the edge): abstaining because precipierce is rad.
DESIGN B (militia): Whale Jockey, Torittillery (SV)
DESIGN C (which way?): Broomish, Witika

Indeed it is....where have all the submitters and voters gone? Regardless, we must carry on, so the votes are now closed! Let's see who the real identity of these future challengers are, decided by, you guessed it, two voters! And we have no tiebreakers this time, thank goodness....
1757333544944.png

So, first up, Design A will now be known as Precipierce, who was designed by Cyaneedle! This Ground/Dark type has Mold Breaker, Precipice Blades, and amazing attack and defence, but struggles on the special side as well as speed. The entry for it said it was similar to Rhyperior, who was a top RU threat for many generations, and also had access to Stealth Rock just like Precipierce! Compared to Basswurmm, our other Ground/Dark type in the running, Precipierce has the better health and defences, and actually has move coverage options as well as Hone Claws, while Basswurmm definitley takes it home in attack!
1757334536625.png

PalpitoadChamp must be getting good at this, because our other two winners were made by him! We start with the Whale Jockey, who's now the true identity of Design B, and brings in a Drizzle user to the metagame! With 140 in HP, Attack, and Defence, good luck trying to put a dent in this Water/Flying type, (Our first one since Sanbandit of Slate 2!) though Special moves will fry it very easily. As well as being able to bolster it's attack further with Bulk Up, it's also got some mean tricks on it's side, like using Skill Swap to give it's opponent a used Drizzle ability, or being able to exterminate hazards with Defog. Finally, it also happens to be our second Pokémon in this metagame with a BST of 600!
1757334556881.png

Our other PalpitoadChamp winner is Broomish, the identity of Design C! This Psychic/Grass type is a physical setup sweeper that can use Swords Dance in conjunction with it's signature move, Broom Swipe, for massive damage: That move can not only be boosted by it's Technician ability, but also has +1 Priority and Protect piercing! But this little beauty has two signature moves on it's belt: Psychopomp has the chance to force an enemy to take recoil damage or bigger damage in themselves, (If it attacks, they take recoil damage, but if they can't attack such as if they're asleep, they take bigger damage!) and let's not forget the fact that it knows Synthesis, Hypnosis, Thunder Wave, and a shocking variety of coverage for a Psychic/Grass, such as Earthquake, Drain Punch, and even Fire Punch!
Thank you for voting! Precipierce, Whale Jockey, and Broomish will be entering the database soon, and the next slate, our penultimate one before the hiatus, will be starting sooner than that...take care!

SLATE 9: OBJECTION!
“New Pokémon and new characters are not the only things that the Pokémon Company have revealed. In Generations 8 and 9, they also revealed several held items this way through the Pokémon World Championships. These items had unique effects beyond any other item, in an intent to have people plan in advance on how they can affect Pokémon battles, and create new strategies. Unfortunately…we’ve yet to see their success be replicated here in Smogon. But it did teach us a lesson somehow…the Pokémon Company is aware that we know the magic known as theorycrafting.”
To honour such items like the Room Service and the Clear Amulet being revealed this way, for the penultimate slate before the hiatus (But not actually the penultimate slate!) the three Pokémon itching to join the metagame all have an item sprite somewhere on their sprites...no matter how legendary they are. Should you base your submissions around them, or should you go a different direction?

This time, you have until Wednesday the 24th of September to cast your submissions! And don't forget, for anyone who wants to code the custom elements into Showdown, please PM me on Discord if you have what it takes! Which also reminds me....
A REMINDER: METAGAME ANALYZERS WANTED!
We need someone to look at our database and see who the top threats of the metagame are, and who needs to be nerfed! Like the programmer role, notify me on Discord if you're ready to join the foundations of Like A Muse To Flame's council!

Name: Quataplus
Type: Electric/Water
Ability: Plus / Poison Point // Mad Science
Stats: 80/60/110/100/120/70
Weight: 120 kg

Flavor: Terrifying platypus hybrid thing.
Description: Solid defenses mixed with a solid offense make Mad Science potentially solid. The worst stat is Att, but it gets U-Turn. You can also run a more defensive version with Poison Point, but the lack of recovery makes it much worse.

Mad Science: Upon switch in, raises a random non-Acc or Eva stat of the user's by 1.

1758112994414.png

Name: Diskus
Type: Steel/Flying

Flavor: Disc with souls that lift it up.
Competitive: Offensive Regen mon with bad defenses. It's defensive profile is hard carried by Regen + Typing, but it still prefers offensive sets. Recover + U-Turn + Rapid Spin is solid utility + longevity.

Brave Disc: Flying, Physical, 120 BP, 100 Acc, 15 (24) PP, Has 1/3 recoil. Makes Contact.

Flavor: Electrical bug-like thing that steals things. It stole some crazy Z-Moves as well.
Competitive: Decently defensive Mon with strong offenses and an odd array of abilities. You can use Leppa Berry LTBtS for a crazy nuke and then Switcheroo/Electric Slide/Pickpocket for a new item.

Electric Slide: Electric, Status, - BP, 100 Acc, 5 (8) PP, User swaps held items with the opponent. If successful, the user switches out.

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED!
It's downhill from here, just two more votes to go (This one and next slate's) Before this Pet Mod takes a well deserved rest. (But it won't be the end, don't worry) It's time to decide who the true identity of these item users are...even if we only got two submitters again. Whether or not this is because of timezones is still unknown....
1758111768714.png

Unfortunately, (Or fortunately for some!) One design only got one submission, and this time the unlucky chap happens to be Design A, the one with a Starf Berry for an arm and a Tamato Berry for a tail...meaning PalpitoadChamp's Quataplus takes the design's looks home! This...is not what we were expecting for this design. It's an Electric/Water type that raises a random stat on entry with it's signature ability, Mad Science, and has a good balance of offense and defence. He also happens to be the first Electric-type of the metagame since Relicoil back in Slate 2!
But for the other designs...Here are your options this time:
DESIGN B:
1758112994414.png

PalpitoadChamp's Diskus
Orangesodapop's Longpainter
DESIGN C:

1758118049581.png

PalpitoadChamp's Zoinkz
Orangesodapop's Skuttlebub

Remember, for this vote, the topmost submission of each design in your vote will count as two votes, and you cannot put your own submission as the top vote. For example, if you were to copy the above text exactly, then Diskus and Zoinkz would get two votes instead of one. The submissions with the most votes in each design will enter the metagame.
Voting will last until tomorrow, hopefully...GOOD LUCK!

1758112994414.png
1758118049581.png

NOTE: Sadly, once again, we have to delay the voting deadline due to a lack of votes. You now have an extra day to vote, so voting will close this Friday...good luck!

The votes are now CLOSED! (On the account that I won't be able to access the database again after today until at least Monday) But...only one vote? Well...you'd be wrong. Indeed, there was only one vote, but you've probably seen it before and it's going to happen here....
THERE'S NOTHING STOPPING THE PET MOD'S OWN CREATOR FROM CASTING A VOTE!!!

1758118049581.png

Orangesodapop's Skuttlebub
PalpitoadChamp's Zoinks

1758112994414.png

PalpitoadChamp's Diskus
Orangesodapop's Longpainter

This means, combined with PalpitoadChamp's own vote, that Design B is taken by PalpitoadChamp's Diskus, while Design C will now be known as Skuttlebub, who was made by Orangesodapop. But what exactly do they do?
1758112994414.png

Well, for Diskus, it seemed like no-one noticed that was actually the Rainbow Flower from Mina's Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon trial on top of it...But, for Diskus itself, it's a Steel/Flying type with everything it could possibly need...except for poor defences. It has access to Regenerator, Recover, U-Turn, Rapid Spin, Bulk Up, and a wide variety of physical and special coverage. It also has the Brave Disk...which is basically a renamed Brave Bird.
1758118049581.png

Skuttlebub, on the other hand, is a Sturdy Bug/Rock type that excels at setting up hazards with Stealth Rock, and setting up with Swords Dance. The submission listed it as a hazard cleaner, but it does not learn Rapid Spin. He also happens to be the first Rock-type in this metagame since Wreckerowth all the way back in the first slate!
Thank you for voting! You'll find these two winners on the database soon to join Quataplus. The next slate will be the last one before the hiatus begins...but not the actual last one. And trust me, it'll require all your creativity to get past!

SLATE 10: THE PRE-HIATUS SLATE: TRUE TO FORM
“A new reveal always makes the fountains of creativity open, and nothing is better than hitting the books. CoroCoro used to be a treasure trove of new reveals, until they probably started to notice and began to throw out information we already knew, and it fell into obscurity for the Pokémon fanbase after it failed to reveal anything good for Sword and Shield. But it still had it’s glory moments…and none of us would have been prepared for it’s issue on September 2013, the one that introduced Mega Evolution: Five older Pokémon, alongside the previously revealed Mega Mewtwo, would be able to gain new forms that helped reignite their popularity. But it didn’t stop there. Mere weeks after they were revealed, the fanbase started to create more Mega Evolutions for pretty much every Pokémon in existence! But then came Pokémon Origins…Charizard’s Mega Form had already been revealed, but when Red tried to capture Mewtwo, we saw…A SECOND MEGA CHARIZARD! And that blew up the creativity fountains once more! After all, even if a Mega Evolution had now been revealed…there was nothing stopping the fanbase from just giving it another one. It was truly…the apex, of creativity itself.”
Even though this is'nt the last slate, it is the last one before we go on hiatus...and therefore, you know what they say: Save the best for last! The last three Pokémon willing to join the metagame before we take a well deserved rest all have more than one form, embracing your creativity to the maximum! Remember, if a Design lists more than one sprite, your submission must make use of all of them...but that does not necessarily mean all of the sprites have to be built for combat. You could pull an Xerneas and make one sprite a purely out of battle form, for example. You can also decide which of the sprites in a design is the default form!
DESIGN A, WITH TWO SPRITES: (Yes, that is a human on the left sprite)

DESIGN B, WITH THREE SPRITES:

DESIGN C, WITH FOUR SPRITES: (Hmmm, do those colours look familar?)

1758894856773.png

This time, you have until Friday the 3rd Sunday the 5th of October to cast your submissions, a full week! GOOD LUCK!
And don't forget, we are still looking for someone to program this metagame into DragonHaven, check out the Pet Mods Discord Server and the Like A Muse To Flame Discord Server if you're up for the task!

Name: Huereen (-True)
Type: Bug/Normal (True: Bug/Ghost)
Ability: Parasitic (This Pokemon's attacks heal it for 1/16th of its max Hp. If it heals a total of 1/2 of its max Hp or more since switching in, it transforms into Huereen-True. When transformed, this ability heals 1/8 instead of 1/16.)
Stats: 100/60/90/60/90/105 (True: 100/125/90/125/90/70)
Weight: 80 kg
Movepool: Protect, Facade, Rest, Sleep Talk, Snore, Endure, Substitute, Confide, Tera Blast, Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Metronome, Leech Life, Lunge, Skitter Smack, Fake Out, Quick Attack, Body Slam, Double-Edge, Hyper Voice, Tackle, Simple Beam, Shadow Ball, Swords Dance, Nasty Plot, Bug Buzz, Work Up, Hex, Toxic, Fury Attack, Shadow Claw, Poltergeist, Curse, Energy Ball, Seed Bomb, Crunch, Bite, Thunder Fang, Focus Punch, Superpower, Poison Jab, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Knock Off, Dark Pulse
Flavor: Human who got infected by a strange parasite.
Description: Start as a goofy fast defensive mon that can use Leech Life or Fury Attack for a large sum of Hp. Wants to hold Leftovers, but it's boots locked unless you take the chip so you can heal it off. Once you activate its ability, you get huge healing, a better typing, and much stronger offenses at the payoff of speed and a ghost/dark weakness. Can run either physical or special sets, but physical is likely better.

Name: Maugick (-Awakened, -Beastmaster)
Type: Steel (Awakened: Steel/Fairy, Beastmaster: Dragon/Fairy)
Abilities: Awakened Figurine (This Pokemon can't be KOed, surviving any hits on at least 1 Hp. Upon reaching 1 Hp, heals to full and transforms into the next form. Upon reaching Beastmaster form, instead has the effects of Aura Break + Berserk)
Stats: 60/30/80/60/70/10 (Awakened: 70/80/90/95/75/80, Beastmaster: 80/110/100/100/90/60)
Weight: 50 kg (Awakened: 51 kg, Beastmaster: 51.1 kg)
Movepool: Protect, Facade, Rest, Sleep Talk, Snore, Endure, Substitute, Confide, Tera Blast, Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Metronome, Stealth Rock, Whirlwind, Dragon Pulse, Torment, Flash Cannon, Iron Head, Steel Beam, Play Rough, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Psychic, Psyshock, Wonder Room, Trick Room, Meditate, Double-Edge, Obstruct, Me First, Metal Sound, Explosion, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Rock Slide, Rock Blast, Thunder Wave, Night Shade, Shadow Ball, Hex, Outrage, Dragon Claw, Dragon Energy, Psychic Fangs
Flavor: Mouse magician laid dormant inside his little metal mask thing. Little does it know that it has a dragon laying dormant inside of it.
Description: You get a minimum of two free moves which is huge, but you start with awful stats that don't get significantly better until later. The first stage is set-up fodder, but it can use Whirlwind, TR, Stealth Rock, TWave, and/or Torment to punish the opponent for attempting to take advantage of you. Still struggles if the opponent doesn't want to let you change forms as then you're stuck with an LC to NFE stat wise.

Movepool: Protect, Facade, Rest, Sleep Talk, Snore, Endure, Substitute, Confide, Tera Blast, Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Metronome, Brave Bird, Double-Edge, Recover, Bulk Up, Power Trip, Fake Out, Play Nice, Play Rough, U-Turn, Knock Off, Hyper Voice, Surf, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Amnesia, Growl, Pound, Transform, Defog, Mimic, Me First, Reflect Type, Close Combat, Dual Wingbeat, Peck, Tail Whip, Soak, Waterfall, Normieize
Normieize: Normal, Status, - BP, - Acc, 40 (64) pp, Turns the opposing Pokemon into the Normal-type.
Flavor: Pet shapeshifter that turns into the form that best suits the opponent.
Description: No, it doesn't have good moves of the alternative form types because the only time it would have stab on them is when the opposing Pokemon resists them. Petscor is an offensivr and fast Mon that utilizes its ability to resist elemental attacks for improved longevity. It can Knock, it can pivot, it can Defog, it can recover. It still suffers from being Normal-type, but it'll survive.

This is a fair warning that submissions for the tenth slate will be closing tomorrow! We don't want the pre-hiatus slate to end with any default winners like back at Slate 6, so get those submissions in before it's too late!

Also, it is noteworthy that Imgur has just locked UK users out of the website entirely two days ago: All they will see now is this useless purple image that is truly *$$(!. As a UK user, this inflicts a big blow on to this mod's future: While there's nothing stopping anyone from simply using Copy Image, it's a lot more complicated especially with how attaching files works on threads...but rest assured, we'll find a solution before it's too late!

This is UberTrainer2000 with a very important announcement...no, it's not the fact the mod is cancelled because Imgur is now region locked by the UK. Normally, the slate would close today, and with only one submitter, PalpitoadChamp's submissions would have won by default. But...We've learnt since slate 6. I want to give everyone a chance they need, even if it's avoid any default winners....
...Therefore, we have made the hard decision to postpone the deadline to Sunday! You now have until then to cast your submissions...GOOD LUCK!

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED!
Alright, this is it...while this may not be the last voting period, it is the last one before we enter the hiatus....so, let's see who your options are this time, to see who's the true forms of these...well, multiple forms!
DESIGN A

1758889620022.png
1758889629422.png

PalpitoadChamp's Huereen
G-Luke's Herjack

DESIGN B

1758890859110.png
1758890877799.png

PalpitoadChamp's Maugick
G-Luke's Lionfite

DESIGN C

1758894849151.png
1758894856773.png
1758894871781.png

...Hold on a minute, there's only one submission for this design! It seems like four forms at once is too much for anyone to handle...but not PalpitoadChamp. His very own Petscor wins by default! It's a Normal/Flying offensive Pokémon with Knock Off, U-Turn, Recover, and Defog, who can change his form to resist Fire, Electric, or Water when facing opponents with those types. And if that wasn't enough, it has the power to turn enemies into pure Normal types! You'll find it in the database soon!

Remember, for this vote, the topmost submission of each design in your vote will count as two votes, and you cannot put your own submission as the top vote. For example, if you were to copy the above text exactly, then Hureen and Maugick would get two votes instead of one. The submissions with the most votes in each design will enter the metagame.
Voting will last until tomorrow, hopefully...GOOD LUCK!
