List with the most used Pokemon in the new metagame, based in the RTM Subforums

I assume it has something to do with avalibility, I haven't seen one trade list in the wifi forum with a magic guard clefable.

I updated the uber thing a little bit, since there was a lot of teams for that Gamestop thing, I decided it would probably be a good idea.

Some things I wanted to point out:

- Wobbuffet usage is steadily increasing
- More people are putting Deoxys-F into their teams now
- Blissey usage has actually gone down, it was only on 2 teams I included on this update, very few compared to last time, where it was on pretty much every RMT there
- Kyogre usage is skyrocketing, it was on EVERY team I updated -.-
- Giratina is getting used a lot more
- The non-ubers besides Blissey and Metagross aren't getting very much use

I'll update the uber list gradually, how much I update will depend on my degree of boredom.

Ehh.

Since some of you seem to be getting confused about the rules on page 6...

Rules said:
DP's Tier System
We don't have a metagame yet, guys, so how can we tell which Pokémon belong where? More importantly, what good does it do us to speculate to such ends regardless?

Cut out the tier whining.

Uhh....I wouldn't argue with the mods, especially when they've stomped out more than a hundred fires about tier discussion.

Ok, I did the first update on the ubers thing in like 2 weeks. Not much has changed besides there being lots more Metagross usage and a skyrocket in Palkias.

Just so you know, I can try and update the numbers from the first post if you guys want as I do have a lot of time on my hands for the next few days.

I would really appreciate a refresher, but I know how much effort that is and if you don't really want to do it that'd be totally understandable.

Well, here are the numbers as of now:

There are 2667 RMTs so far.

All pokemon that do not have a number in brackets next to their name had a growth of "0" this update.

If a pokemon shows a percentage, it is implied that all the pokemon below it have that percentage as well until it shows a different number.

The growth of certain pokes is probably due to warstorys, at least in Kabutops case. I distinctly remember a warstory where a Kabutops proceeds to sweep once rain has been set up.

When I was making this, I found myself finding a huge rise in Charizards, Ambipoms and Roserades, as well as Rampardos...what's up with that?

Could it be that people are now not afraid to try new things out?

Also, is Tyranitar a cripple now? Its overall growth was only 106 while Gengar whi was tied with him last time got a growth of a whopping 185! Even Porygon-Z beat him...what exactly happened to Tyranitar??

Shoddy = easy to do random things. I'm going to be trying a 'scarfed Explosion team to see if it can work. I wouldn't bother if I had to train them. I guess it's the same for others too.

Yeha, I've run into almost no Tyranitars. I think people are trying wierd stuff over shoddy, and anyway a good sandstream team takes a bit more effort than a gimmick/thrown together team.

Hell yeah! 10 mantines!
Thanks for the update, Why the hell is Beedrill of all things being used more than shaymin?
People are probably avoiding Shaymin because there are so few E4 glitch ones available for trade and no one knows if/when they'll be released. Also, people are dumb.

I did see someone trading a very good IV Timid Shaymin on the Wi-Fi subforum. If that can be cloned, Shaymin usage will definitely go up. I'm one of the 2 Shaymin users and I can't say that anyone's accused him of being uber for me...most of the responses I get for it are "What the hell is that?!" or something like that. Tee hee, Shaymin will prevail!

Well, that's one. They're not very common anyways.

But I had several people ask if it was uber on Shoddy when I used it. Then again, none of those people were from Smogon. I remember one guy forfeited the battle crying "fucking ubers" after my Shaymin 2HKOed his Electivire with Seed Flare.

actually, I would think that the gimmick/thrown together team would take more effort to really make it work than a Sandstream team. 2/3rds of the Pokemon one would use on a good Sandstream team are mandatory: Tyranitar/Hippowdon, Gliscor, Garchomp, and Blissey. Not a whole lot of effort I had to put into that, was it? The other two are usually relatively simple to piece together as well, usually consisting of two of the following: Swampert, Heatran, Skarmory, Magnezone, Rhyperior, Jirachi, or a Rapid Spin blocker (usually Dusknoir, but Gengar works as well). I'm probably missing some more obscure Pokemon on that list like Metagross, Forretress, and the occasional Roserade, but those others are Pokemon that come right to the top of my head.

See? That wasn't so hard, was it? And I'm not saying that just because you don't need to put alot of work into it that it's not good. On the contrary, Sandstorm teams work wonderfully this generation and are extremely powerful and tough to face if your team isn't geared specifically to counter them. But a good sandstorm team isn't very hard to think up and requires very little effort to construct, which I think, in my opinion, is why they're seeing alot of use (it's both easy to make and very powerful. It'll require a bit more effort though if you want to add something like a Probopass in the mix).

Gimmick teams I think require much more effort (if you really want it to work in competitive play. If you're just screwing around, then it won't require a ton of effort at all), if only because more times than not, the first four members of your team aren't already pre-planned and packaged for your use. Since the gimmick Pokemon usually aren't standards, you have to take more care to find a set of Pokemon that can work really well together and cover each other while at the same time being able to get in and do what they have to do without getting stopped or creamed in the process (which is also more likely to occur, cause again, gimmick Pokemon usually aren't Pokemon like Garchomp or Salamence in that they can take out all but a few Pokemon in two shots or less. An Explosion team, for example, have to worry about taking out opposing ghost Pokemon, and stuff like Lickilicky, while a great exploder, will have trouble trying to take on something like Dusknoir, who can stop your entire team's immediate strategy in its tracks. And I can't think of an immediate choice of Pokemon one would put on an Explosion team - IE, something that explodes - that can handle Dusknoir).

Fourth-ing (I think) the use of Shaymin on my team.

Look like I'll have to kick at least 96 people. It's fucking ridiculous that Umbreon, one of the most incapable Pokemon in the game, gets more usage than Azelf. Also, I feel strangely responsible in some way for Blissey usage more than doubling...

Well, if that's the case, I'll make a giveaway soon. Mantyke, you helpin'? Ph03n!x's Shaymin? Ph03n!x-Br's Shaymin? Pnx's Shaymin? Bad @ naming.

But I won't do it that soon, I'm having very busy weeks. Also, my birthday / Metroid Prime 3 is / are coming :naughty:

Moving on to Shaymin, man. You gotta use Seed Flare in Donphan, it's simply awesome. It also lols at Ice Shard and it's Substitute doesn't fall to one Earthquake. It's actually bulkier than I thought.

Also, I feel strangely responsible in some way for Blissey usage more than doubling...

Actually, considering that this sample consists of 11069 (give or take a few, it's a lot of rows to add) pokemon compared to the previous sample of only 4932, Blissey usage has decreased slightly. It's gone from 5.9% of all pokemon (roughly 35.4 % of all teams) to 5.37 % (roughly 32.25% of all teams). The numbers seem misleading because of the larger gap between Blissey and its next most common competitor. :p
