Mex VS Atlas
How would you introduce yourself in 3-5 sentences?
I wouldn't.
Jokes aside, I'm Mex, come from the UK, big fan of basically every aspect of Pokemon as a series. You may remember me from that one video Atlas loves sharing where I get sniped by a Green Shell in Mario Kart.
Now, I don't usually do this, but for those interested in what Mex means...
Ah the good old times. What's the history of "Mex", anyway?
It comes from my last username used, Mega Eevee X, where it is the initials and what people have been calling me since about 2014. Mega Eevee X was not my first username, but it's the one that stuck because every other username i tried before it didn't last any longer than about 10 days
2014? Wow you're old! How'd you even find out about PS back then?
There was an online forum specialising in Nuzlocke challenges I frequented back in 2011-2012. At some point in mid-2012, they held an event where it was a community nuzlocke but after every gym badge, community members had to fight each other and the loser would be eliminated, themed after the Hunger Games series. They used PS! to hold the battles between the community members as the chosen game was one without online capabilities, and that was my introduction to the site. Didn't sign up for it until about a year after, though, as I was convinced for some time that it was an app i would need to download, and I didn't have my own computer at the time.
Would you say your favourite part about PS is the community then?
The community for sure. The main reason I've stuck around as long as I have, and I've had a lot of friends I've made along the way. Without those, I don't think I would've lasted more than about a year on the site.
That's amazing :) speaking of, given how long you've been on the site, what's your PS journey been like?
The words to describe my PS journey are long and complicated. Lobby is a more recent room for me, having started being active in here around mid-late 2021. I started off in the tournaments room, before moving onto the on-site game category with Mafia, Game Corner and Scavengers being my favorites at the time. Wi-Fi is the room where I've stuck around the longest though, having joined around late 2014 and I'm still around to this day
So, you've been on the site for a while. What would you say your biggest achievement is?
Speaking about PS, I'd probably say helping to revive the Pokemon Go room back in 2021 would be my biggest achievement. The room had been made private in 2018 and it took a lot of hard work to help bring it back to a spot where the room could be public again
Mex plays pokemon go, ev-er-y-day... But do you play competitively?
Not a ton, but I have played in a few Randbats tournaments in my time on the site. Mostly just playing in PSPL or for fun things, but randbats is pretty much the only thing I play.
PSPL? Wow that's pre - Ah damn, my Mario Kart alarm went off. Gotta go find some new scrub to green shell :/ That's gonna have to do it for this interview, I'm afraid!
