Look At What I Chained - Mark II

ok quick question guys. So i know that 40 is the "magic" number at which to begin resetting the Poke Radar for shiny patches. But what i was wondering is if the rate at which shiny pokes appear is maximized at 40+. or if with each additional poke past 40 you gain a better chance of meeting a shiny?

40 is the maximized chance.

I'm awful at chaining, but I think I'll give it another try.

What should I go for? Shiny Shinx seems to be the easiest. :/

Maybe I'll go back to Hoppip/Skiploom?

If Lorak can randomly find a Shiny Kangaskhan in the fricken Safari Zone, then I'm pretty sure I could chain one.

Oh that's right! My game hates me. :)

I found a shiny Exeggcute too... But that one ran, as you know :(

Do it; go back to it.

I did a quick Slakoth chain...and it accidentally broke at 6 shinies when I didn't see a bad patch :'( And the worst part is that, even with an adamant synch, I got only one Adamant Slakoth overall. In addition, the rest of the natures raised special attack (literally every single one of the other slakoth), and THREE of them were bold.

So annoying @_@ Guess I'll check IVs anyway.

EDIT: Adamant-5/13/31/27/9/30

Bleh.

Going for slowpoke, got everything I need. I'm at 14 right now and it almost broke, but luck was on my side and the 1-away patch continued my chain.

Edit: just broke at 16, damn

I didn't exactly chain it, but I found a shiny Gyarados in Mt. Coronet while looking for another Dratini. It's Adamant too, since I had a synch with me. IVs are:

24/20/15/31/12/6

For some reason, now I want to fish for a Shiny Cloyster and catch it in a Dive Ball.

Cool, I'm new and currently at chain 16 at a Shinx and my Pikachu with Static helps me....:p

I got 5 Adamant and 1 Impish Shiny Starly a while back.

One had 30 Atk & Spd (Which is now my beloved ScarfRaptor) and I have one UT with 24ish in all but Spd which is 19. (19 + Choice Scarf is still fast enough though :) )

I might chain Porygon later.

It is a beautiful thing, that it is, a shiny Dive Ball'd Cloyster.

I just finished a Pachirisu chain smoothly and got 4 shinies before I accidently stepped on a normal patch that broke the chain. My Jolly synch failed completely and all the IV's were bad again like my Chatot trip. This is so discouraging

btw, out of curiosity what are your in game times?

Diamond: 550 hours, Pearl: 100

Torsoboy - You can't really just come and plead for help, it doesn't work that way. That's what the guide's for. You have to tell us what you need help with and how we can help you with it.

Yeah, sorry about being vague. :V

Let's see... I'm not sure why my chains are breaking. For example, I get a chain of two, and step in a 4-away patch, and it just breaks. And it happens all the time, so...

A general rule of thumb is that a single patch should never be isolated or clustered. If the formation is 2 and 2 patches in different quadrants, its most likely a good patch. If your chain still breaks too often then you haven't been reading Diesel's guide carefully enough.

Yeah, I've realized that through experience now.

Also, I was chaining Swellows earlier, and I have a question. Why was a Wingull in the white-flashy patch? That doesn't make sense to me. I thought that only Swellow would be there.

Did you start in a white-flashy patch? Also, any species can appear in any start-shake coloration patch.
