Jolly - Likes to Fight
16 / 28 / 28 / 22 / 22 / 8

Jolly - Likes to Run
16 / 29 / 8 / 20 / 10 / 30

loving the last one :) Going to run a Flare Blitz - Megahorn - Quick Attack - Will-o-Wisp moveset with a CB or CS or something. Maybe a Life Orb/Expert Belt... but that's definitely the best option for movesets for this (no Hypnosis is really a shame but oh well, looks freaking amazing)

I think i'm gonna take a break from breeding and see if i can chain some shiny glooms/oddishs and get one with 31/x/31/30/31/30 so I can make KB look bad lol. You can practically make a shiny thread at this point

lol the Lexx, best of luck. I myself tried chaining Vibrava's today, but to no avail. I got once chain to 27 but got broken, and the other two were broken at 20 and 17, and then I got bored and had some trades to do.

I will most likely try and chain Eevee's tomorrow while at my State Championship for the Pokemon TCG.

got my chain up to 31... broke

got it back up to 40, had to reset on 5 of my first 9 shiny patches because they were on edges...

and the first five that i can check in my party have shitty IVs....

wonderful.

calling it a night soon, so expect the IVs in the morning after i chain a few more and hopefully with some better luck.

EDIT:

well no luck with getting good IVs lol

Bold - Often Scatters Things
27 / 8 / 15 / 17 / 16 / 21

Brave (WHY?!?!) - Often Dozes Off
31 / 21 / 24 / 15 / 22 / 25

Calm - Often Dozes Off
31 / 5 / 22 / 16 / 15 / 11

Calm - Somewhat Vain
17 / 14 / 19 / 1 / 26 / 19

Calm - Mischevious
9 / 13 / 21 / 31 / 28-29 / 0

i guess i like number three the best but idk lol i like the brave one the best in either bold or calm but oh well...

I finally got to 40 on Baltoy last night/morning but reseting 50ish times didn't result in any shinies. Someone wanna tell me what's up with that? =\

Often you'll need to reset a lot more than 50 times to get a shiny. When I was chaining my shinx, I counted the number of resets in between shinys. One time it was over 110.

kingbattlus you should still go to edgy shiny patches, its not very likely they break your chain, out of all my shinies only ONe shiny patch on an edge has broken my chain.

I'm not sure on this, but it's possible that you could calculate the probability of your chain breaking on a given patch that's against the wall. This is assuming your patch has your pokemon in it. I don't know the game's coding or anything, but it seems like each formation of patches is entirely random. If this is true, than you can calculate the probability of all the patches landing outside of grass. Based on my knowledge of basic probability, I would imagine the formula would look something like this.

Probability of Chain Breaking = [(# of 1-aways not on grass) /8)] * [(# of 2-aways not on grass) /16] * [(# of 3-aways...) /24] * [(# of 4-aways...) /32]

If this were true, a true corner would probably have around a 21.9% chance of breaking your chain. Once again though, I am in no way familiar with the game's coding.

Correct me if you think my formula wrong. Obviously there's no need to do this every time, just to get a sense of where your probability would be at on a corner or a wall. I don't disagree with KB's practice though. If you want a lot of shinies, better to be safe than sorry. If you'd rather take your chances, then that's up to you. I have only had 1 chain break on a wall/corner, but I only entered a few walls since, and no corners.

forbidden - Yea, on the guide it says that it could take that long on average to get a shiny, so you need to be much more patient. How'd the chain break?

it depends on where the patch is. a corner won't break your chain if it's shiny, they can be anywhere (as far as 1, 2 3, or 4 away). if it's on an edge and i've already encountered say 10-15 shinies, ill chance it.

Well I just tried chaining for the first time today:

dpmfb132.png
- #132 (Calm)
HP: 22 - 24
Att: 25 - 31
Def: 11 - 14
SpA: 1 - 3 (D:)
SpD: 31
Speed: 11 - 14

Not perfect, but it'll be good for breeding Special Walls. If any of the other Ditto I caught have any perfects I'll edit.

EDIT:

dpmfb132.png
- #132 (Serious)
HP: 11 - 14
Att: 4 - 7
Def: 31
SpA: 11 - 14
SpD: 22 - 24
Speed: 25 - 28

SWEET. :D Also, two of the other Dittos had 0's, so I released those, the last on had 25's in Attack and Speed, so I thought I'd keep it for now.

Do Synchronizers affect the IVs of whatever you're going for? I have a Timid Alakazam with a 30 Def IV, and I ran across a Gengar. Caught it, checked it out -- 30 Def IV.

Coincedence?

I just found out this thread existed O.o

Here's all I have, they have horrible IVs though...:

dpmfsa209.png

Jolly
18 / 1 / 18 / 25 / 13 / 14

dpmfsa333.png

Calm
7 / 26 / 6 / 2 / 16 / 16

dpffsa307.png
dpffsa308.png

Bold - Often Dozes Off (GAY GAY GAY)
31 / 22 / 31 / 22 / 22 / 25

Jolly - Capable of Taking Hits
28 / 29 / 31 / 23 / 3 / 26

Jolly - Quick to Flee
1 / 23 / 15 / 15 / 3 / 29

ah another day another shiny.... i love this chaining shit. number one is quite frustrating, two is freakin sweet, and three is just a touch faster without losing too much attack.

ahhh im thinking bronzor should be next.... feeling it right now! tonight! let's go!

Hooray, I chained my first shiny^_^
After a 32 chain that broke, I actually got a 40+ chain and have now a shiny Surskit^^. IV's have to be yet checked. Oh well, I tend to mistake shiny patches with glittery ones :/, and that's the reason my chain ended, stupid Wobba.
I'm getting better at chaining, though, till yesterday i couldn't even dream of a chained shiny, lol.

I just chained Bagon for the first time and got a whopping four of them before a Noctowl showed up.

But I got something cool anyway:

Bagon
Quirky (sigh)
24/30/28/9/25/9

Bagon
Gentle (double sigh)
28/3/3/9/18/31

I'll probably use the Quirky one as a father.

Just chained for two Shiny Wobbufets at Lake Verity, I'd been through upwards of 50 Max Repels trying to find my next shiny when I accidentally walked into a patch of grass and broke my chain, damn.

Both are Quiet. :/
