In the Uk they are for emos

No, you don't get the point... it doesn't matter where you are, Chuck's have been around for 30+ years. They're not "for" anyone. And just because a bunch of emo fucksticks wear them often doesn't mean they're assimilated into that scene.

60+ years.
90 years, as of 2007. Don't get it twisted.

Edit:
Wikipedia said:
Although Chuck Taylors are, along with Dr. Martens, still closely associated with punk fashion, punks have been the target of criticism for wearing a shoe that is ultimately manufactured by Nike, a company that has been accused of producing their shoes in third-world "sweatshops". Because of Nike's alleged practices, wearing Converse shoes is at odds with punk's general association with left-wing politics, particularly anarchism and some forms of revolutionary socialism. This criticism has also come from within, from punks such as Mitch Clem.[1] Many punks now wear sweatshop-free imitations, such as those made by the Blackspot Anticorporation or No Sweat Apparel, so as to avoid such an ideological conflict.
Lawl gg.

haha, people are citing Mitch Clem in Wikipedia articles now? Geez.

I don't think Mitch Clem would even want to be referred to as a punk.

Blackspot Anticorporation is the dumbest shit.

FUCK THE CORPORATION, WE RIPPED OFF THEIR SHOES!

How can you simultaneously define yourself as "anticorporation", and then sell a shoe that's almost identical and is quite obviously based on a design by Nike, which is like the epitome of corporation. Fucking self-righteous, hypocritical douches.

Things I love.

Fanfics
Angsty tragedies
Circus
Ribbon
Lear
Handbalancing
Contortion
Gerbils
Other things of which I cannot recall right now.

I love (another "in no particular order"):

- Films I consider to be Great (Oldboy, Donny Darko, Memento, etc).
- Films I consider to be amusing fun (300, Dude Wheres my Car, Borat, etc).
- Music that effectively blends modern instruments (Guitar, etc) with classical instruments (Violin etc). Also, a fair chunk of music in general.
- Finding things I've never heard of and liking them (this applies heavily to music and films).
- Rambling on Internet Forums.
- Video games.
- Gothic fashion. Eccentric fashion.
- My trousers (honestly, the pair I'm wearing right now are greatness personified).
- Diet Coca-Cola (the liquid of the gods).
- Good/entertaining anime.
- Friends.
- Positive attention.
- Football (Soccer).
- Sleeping.
- Night-time/Absence of sunlight.

Loves:
-Football
-Poker
-Video games
-Pokemon
-Notre Dame
-God
-The Church
-Life
-Books
-Writing
-Eating out
-Working out
-The quiet serenity of the North/snow

I could go on and on.

- I love music, it's a way for me to express myself, and I have such a good time composing my own through playing guitar. I love listening to it, I love falling asleep to it, and I love sharing it with other people, especially through playing with other people.

- I love drinking and doing drugs, I've had so many good times and even though there are some I will never remember, some of the bonds I've formed being so fucked up on whatever with my buddies are some that a sober moment cannot compete with. I love partying, and just having a good time: to be completely honest, I just really love drinking beer, talking to people, and being happy.

- I love knowledge. Sometimes I fall into the trap of letting this part of my life slide, but I really shouldn't. Studying something you are passionate about, bettering yourself, and just making yourself more interesting in general is so good.

- I love sex. I can't even say that at this point I'm getting a whole lot of it, but it just feels so damn good. I can't say that I even want to fall in love with a girl at this point, but the girl I am currently talking to/occasionally getting some from is so sweet. She is so laid back and cool, it's the best: she doesn't give a shit what I do, and knows how to lay back. I don't fall into that bullshit of hanging out with a girl 24/7, always talking on the phone, and making sure to say "I love you" 50 times a day. We focus on the good stuff, the good times.

- I love working out. The thought that you are bettering yourself, making yourself more attractive, and hopefully prolonging your life rivals that of sex. I'm not even in that good of shape, but some of the gains I've made in the past year and a half, and how much my endurance has increased for how little I've pushed it, is so fucking comforting. Working out feels great.

*Heavy music (current obsessions include E Nomine and Nightwish)

Fuck whatever guy you are with, come away with me! There's only so many girls who love Nightwish.

Haha. I've introduced a few of my friends to Nightwish, but I haven't met any that're already into them. I love metal- specifically, gothic, symphonic, and melodic death. I really wonder what the new female singer of Nightwish sounds like.

Hot, awesome, and good on ballads. :)

They released Eva early.

On that note, I also enjoy metal... particularly a lot of genres. :x
