Media Playing Software

Actually, I think Windows Media Player 11 is way better than iTunes, Limewire, and all those other ones that were mentioned.

Windows Vista, for the win!

OK, I've tested quite a few audio / media players, and in the end, I like Foobar the most. I'm a big fan of customizability, which Foobar gives me, but it's also pretty decent straight out of the box (just needed to add some more columns to allow sorting, but I did that pretty easily manually).

There is only one thing holding me back from liking it over all others completely, and that is its inability to play midi (.mid) files. Now, I found foo_midi, which lets Foobar at least play such files, however, the sound quality is horrible. I like Window's Media Player (11)'s .mid playing capabilities, so is there anything similar out there for Foobar? Because I've decided I like it, I'm willing to put in a bit of work into it (for instance, if I have to go through 5 menus and edit my registry, I'm OK with that), so, is it possible to get decent midi playing with Foobar? I checked a few other forums, and someone mentioned something about using Winamp to play midi through Foobar, but didn't explain just how to do this, but I know there is at least one roundabout way to do it...

Just want to note for the Linux user who comes to the thread: xmms is pretty much deprecated at this point. It hasn't seen a release in about six years or so and links to oooooold libraries. If you're gonna install a player, install audacious instead. It looks pretty much like xmms (and in turn like winamp2) and acts pretty much like xmms (and in turn like winamp2), but has seen releases in the past 6 years and is actually getting bugs fixed if you happen to run across any.

alright, so I'm sorta new to the smogon forum community but I've been enjoying other features of the site for some time now and I was just kinda wondering if anyone here could solve a problem for me. i tried to decide where this most belongs and I think this might be the best bet. if not go ahead and move me please.

anyways, on to the subject at hand... i recorded a battle against a friend of mine recently but when I went to put the video on WMMaker I must have accidentally clicked to change the file type or something because it's now set as a .wmv3 file and WMM doesn't seem capable of opening the file as is. I've downloaded a few converters but none of them seem to be able to help me out. Can someone tell me what I can do so that I can edit the video and make it YouTube friendly? Thanks in advance.

Your newb,
