OK, I've tested quite a few audio / media players, and in the end, I like Foobar the most. I'm a big fan of customizability, which Foobar gives me, but it's also pretty decent straight out of the box (just needed to add some more columns to allow sorting, but I did that pretty easily manually).
There is only one thing holding me back from liking it over all others completely, and that is its inability to play midi (.mid) files. Now, I found foo_midi, which lets Foobar at least play such files, however, the sound quality is horrible. I like Window's Media Player (11)'s .mid playing capabilities, so is there anything similar out there for Foobar? Because I've decided I like it, I'm willing to put in a bit of work into it (for instance, if I have to go through 5 menus and edit my registry, I'm OK with that), so, is it possible to get decent midi playing with Foobar? I checked a few other forums, and someone mentioned something about using Winamp to play midi through Foobar, but didn't explain just how to do this, but I know there is at least one roundabout way to do it...
