Tbh I feel like any possible niche about breaking through Quagsire and Clefable more easily is completely nullified by the fact your opponent can almost effortlessly switch into its Mega Sableye or Slowbro :/

Well there are still some ways to play around this, but they have to work on the switch. If you use Foresight on the switch Mega-Sableye is able to get hit by HJK, so you pretty much net yourself a free kill. It is very specific to the matchup though and is uselss otherwise. In addition, it pressures you to use Foresight with Mega-Sableye is alive, even though you might want to HJK a target. My preferable alternative is Substitute+Baton Pass Medicham. If Sableye comes in or tries to Wisp you, you Sub up and baton pass out into something that resists Dark and can setup on Sableye (ex. Crawdaunt). You lose out on Ice Punch but at least Substitute is a decent buffer against offensive teams and it comes into play in matchups without mega-sableye.

edit: i stand corrected

This doesn't work in practice. Foresight only works if Sableye isn't Mega'd yet due to Magic Bounce, and if it's not Mega'd it can just will-o you on the next turn.

Foresight gets bounced, actually, so unless you can hit it while it's yet to Mega, it'll just nullify your own evasion boosts.

Sub + BP is solid, but Mega Gallade can do this as well, and better than Medi, I think. The additional Speed and Bulk makes your matchup against Offense much better, and while your matchup against Stall becomes a little worse, the two do roughly the same thing and the differences are pretty negligible.

Not quite, running Sub BP discourages Gallade from running CC, and while it can run Drain Punch to synergise with Sub not being able to use its main nuke coupled with losing Swords Dance makes it guaranteed to hit weaker than Medicham.

Not that it would save him...

252 Atk Pure Power burned Mega Medicham High Jump Kick vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Sableye: 306-361 (100.6 - 118.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Wow lol. That's actually pretty funny
Regardless it's not much of a reason to seriously use it. I'd rather use sylv support or whatever else beats my adorable little stall justification
