Electric
========

Mega Manectric is one of the best offensive pivots available to Electric-type teams, along with Tapu Koko, featuring blazing fast Speed that allows it to outrun nearly the entire unboosted metagame. It has access to Volt Switch, enabling Mega Manectric to act as a fast pivot to bring in its defensive teammates. Using Mega Manectric takes the pressure off Tapu Koko to act as an offensive pivot, allowing it to run U-turn to more readily switch out of opposing Pokemon, including Ground-types. Mega Manectric's coverage combination of Overheat and Hidden Power Ice also allows Tapu Koko to utilize Grass Knot, which it typically cannot afford to run. Mega Manectric takes advantage of its strong Fire-type coverage to heavily threaten opposing Grass-types such as Ferrothorn and Tapu Bulu, which can otherwise be very tricky to deal with. Its ability, Intimidate, allows Mega Manectric to take on physical attackers more readily, notably surviving attacks such as Wood Hammer from Tapu Bulu. Intimidate also further bolsters its ability to bring in teammates, like Zapdos, by weakening physical attackers. Still, Mega Manectric's lackluster bulk makes it very vulnerable to most attackers, and it can be very quickly worn down from entry hazards through the course of the battle. It also often competes to fill the same teamslot with Pokemon such as Magnezone, Thundurus, and Xurkitree, each of which fill a different offensive niche for the team, handling different matchups more effectively.

Moves

Volt Switch is one of the key features of using Mega Manectric, allowing it to quickly pivot out of foes into teammates that can more readily handle them. Thunderbolt is Mega Manectric's most spammable attack, hitting many foes hard with its great Special Attack. Hidden Power Ice allows Mega Manectric to hit Ground-types that are immune to its STAB attacks such as Landorus and Garchomp as well as Dragon-types such as Latios and Dragonite. Overheat is a very powerful Fire-type attack, allowing Mega Manectric to blast back Steel- and Grass-types such as Excadrill, Ferrothorn, and Celebi. Flamethrower is an alternative to Overheat, as it doesn't reduce Mega Manectric's Special Attack after a hit, as well as having 100% accuracy. However, the drop in Base Power is noticeable in missing several OHKOs such as against Excadrill and specially defensive Ferrothorn.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed along with a Timid nature allows Mega Manectric to be as fast as possible, allowing it to Speed tie Mega Lopunny as well as outspeed Pokemon such as Greninja and +1 Mega Tyranitar. Maximum Special Attack enables Mega Manectric to be as strong as possible, while 4 Special Defense EVs are used so opposing Download Pokemon such as Porygon2 do not get a Special Attack boost. Lightning Rod allows Manectric to switch into predicted Electric-type attacks such as Volt Switch and gain a Special Attack boost before Mega Evolving. Manectite grants Manectric the ability to Mega Evolve, boosting its stats greatly. After Mega Evolving, Mega Manectric gains the ability Intimidate, lowering its foes' Attack by one stage upon switch in. This is very useful in conjunction with Volt Switch to disrupt slower physical attackers and bring in its defensive teammates more reliably.

Usage Tips
========

As Mega Manectric is an offensive pivot, use Volt Switch liberally against teams that lack an Electric-immune Pokemon in order to keep Mega Manectric safe from attacks while whittling down opposing Pokemon and switching into its defensive teammates. Be sure to use Volt Switch against walls that Mega Manectric cannot take on such as Chansey in order to bring in a teammate that can deal with it such as Thundurus while gaining some chip damage. Bring Mega Manectric in on weak physical attackers such as Ferrothorn, as they do little damage after a drop in Attack from Intimidate while forcing it either to switch out or get OHKOed by Mega Manectric's Fire-type coverage. In addition, bring in Manectric before it Mega Evolves against Pokemon that commonly use Volt Switch such as Tapu Koko and Zapdos in order to disrupt their pivot and gain a Special Attack boost. However, be wary of their other coverage moves, as Manectric's poor bulk leads it to being worn down very quickly. Due to Mega Manectric's lackluster bulk, keep entry hazards off of the field as much as possible throughout the battle in order to preserve its health as it tries to pivot out. Thanks to its amazing Speed, utilize Mega Manectric to revenge kill slower threats such as Landorus and Choice Band Terrakion after a teammate has fainted.

Team Options
========

Tapu Koko forms an amazing pivot combo along with Mega Manectric, allowing them to chip down opposing Pokemon quickly with VoltTurn. Tapu Koko also sets Electric Terrain for Mega Manectric, amplifying its Electric-type attacks' power. Additionally, running Mega Manectric as an offensive pivot enables Tapu Koko to take advantage of moves that it normally cannot afford to run such as Grass Knot and U-turn. Rotom-W and Zapdos form a great defensive pair for Mega Manectric to pivot into, as they appreciate Mega Manectric's Intimidate to more readily absorb foes' attacks. Rotom-W can also utilize Will-O-Wisp to nullify physical attackers for Mega Manectric, and Zapdos can provide Defog support. Alolan Golem sets Stealth Rock for Mega Manectric, allowing it to further chip down foes upon switch in as they try to deal with Mega Manectric's ability to work as a fast pivot. Alolan Raichu is a fantastic revenge killer with amazing coverage options that takes on Pokemon that Mega Manectric cannot cover. Notably, it helps by dealing with Mega Venusaur, which walls all of Mega Manectric's attacks. Thundurus assists Mega Manectric by dealing with the troublesome Normal defensive core of Porygon2 and Chansey with Knock Off, which otherwise absorb all of Mega Manectric's attacks. It also acts as a strong physical attacker to take on other specially defensive Pokemon that Mega Manectric can not handle on its own like Cradily.

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Specially defensive walls such as Chansey and Cradily are able to absorb any attack from Mega Manectric, even under Electric Terrain, and recover back their health or set entry hazards such as Stealth Rock.

**Mega Venusaur**: Thanks to its favorable typing, great bulk, and Thick Fat, Mega Venusaur takes little to no damage from any of Mega Manectric's attacks, even Overheat, and can consistently heal off any damage done to it.

**Bulky Ground-types**: Bulky Ground-types such as Swampert, Gastrodon, and Seismitoad take little damage from Mega Manectric's coverage moves while having an immunity to its STAB attacks, allowing them to freely switch into Mega Manectric's attacks.

**Dragon-types**: Due to Mega Manectric's lackluster coverage, it has a hard time dealing with most Dragon-types such as Mega Latias and Kyurem-B, as they take little damage from Hidden Power Ice and resist its STAB attacks.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster revenge killers such as Choice Scarf Victini and Choice Scarf Terrakion take advantage of Mega Manectric's mediocre bulk and threaten to outspeed and OHKO it thanks to their powerful moves.

I'm not too sure about Aerodactyl as an example of what it outspeeds because it has very minimal usage compared to Mega Aerodactyl which is faster

Great Job QC 2/3

Overview:
- I wouldn't really say Mega Manectric is one of the strongest special attackers, but it is certainly the most effective offensive pivot after Tapu Koko, who is naturally the best.
- The primary reason to use Mega Manectric is to enable Tapu Koko to do something different. This has to be highlighted in either the first line or near the beginning because it's why Mega Manectric is viable.
- Poor coverage isn't really why it loses to Gastrodon, Cradily, and Lanturn. Having Ice Beam or Energy Ball wouldn't help it vs Cradily and Lanturn after all. Plus, its coverage isn't even that bad. Compare to something like Tapu Koko, where it trades having Grass coverage for Fire coverage. The only regret is lacking Ice Beam, but Hidden Power Ice works just fine.
- While blatantly obvious to seasoned Monotype players, it isn't intuitive to non-Monotype players why Magnezone, Thundurus, and Xurkitree would compete with Mega Manectric for a teamslot. All four Pokemon are so different and typically this sort of language implies they would fulfill a similar role but compete with each other due to their particular niches.
- Should probably have something about its ability. Intimidate is very valuable for reasons such as:
-1 252 Atk Tapu Bulu Wood Hammer vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Manectric-Mega in Grassy Terrain: 237-279 (84.3 - 99.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

Team Options:
- Discuss Tapu Koko's other set options that are opened up as a result of Mega Manectric taking on the offensive pivot role.

Other Options:
- Hidden Power Grass

Checks and Counters:
- Mega Venusaur should be 2nd
