ORAS OU Mega Pinsir Wrath

I wanted to build a team around mega pinsir. This team is to help mega pinsir sweep
pinsir-mega.gif

Sting Bettle (Pinsir) @ Pinsirite
Ability: Moxie
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Return
- Quick Attack
The main star of the team. I like mega pinsir and this is the stranded set. He can easily sweep a team or clean up late game after setting up a couple sword dances. I use close combat over earthquake is so i can hit ferrothorn for super effective.
latias.gif

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Defog
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Healing Wish
Latias is here to help keep the my side of the field clean for Mega pinsir. It the stander set Latias can hit pretty hard too with life orb Draco and psyshock. healing wish is here to heal any other members of my team. Latias can also eat some hit too.
heatran.gif

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 SpA
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower
- Roar
Heatran is the third member of my team and the team member with stealth rocks. It mainly use to roar out pokemon that try to set up. It can easily wall a lot of stuff while dish a lot of damage. Earth power is to hit other heatrans without air ballon which this set can't touch. He is one half of my core.

rotom-wash.gif

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
Rotom-wash is the other half of my core. Rotom can spread around burns to minimize physical attackers. He also provide a voltturn core with ambipom. Hydro pump is it main water STAB.
ambipom.gif

Ambipom @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- U-turn
- Return
- Knock Off
Ambipom is a pivit with fake out which can wear down pokemon. It provide a Voltturn core with Rotom. Return is main STAB move and knock off is knock off. It main purpose is to fake out then u-turn out. Silk Scarf is to power up fake out and return. Ambipom is mostly my lead for most teams.
breloom.gif

Breloom @ Focus Sash
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Rock Tomb
Breloom is the final member of the team. Breloom can put oppenents to sleep with spore then attack with technician boosted moves. Bullet seed and Mach punch are it's main STAB. Mach punch is also proity. Rock Tomb is hit to flying types.

Mega- Metagross is one of the main threats to my team if heatran not around even then it may have earthquake.

Decent team, but has some common mistakes.

1.) First of all, why the weird IVs on Latias? Maximize Speed and Special Attack, and put 0 IVs on Attack to reduce Foul Play and Confusion damage. Put 0 IVs in Attack for Heatran and Rotom-W too.

2.) Rotom-W appreciates a Physically Defensive set better due to ability and typing. So, make it Bold 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Speed to reduce Hazards Damage, maximize Physical bulk and to outspeed Azumarill, allowing you to burn it.

3.) Take out Flamethrower from Heatran and put Lava Plume. The power loss is negligible, but you have a 30% chance to burn stuff, which is really useful.

4.) Ambipom is too predictable. People will know what it's gonna do from a mile away, and use a Ghost type. Try leading with Azelf. Use a set with Skill Swap, Explosion, Stealth Rock (Put Toxic on Heatran if you put Rocks on Azelf) and Fire Blast. Hasty Nature, 252 Attack and 252 Speed, with Normal Gem.

changes to this Ambipom your team Chansey as Chansey is a good pokemon to do much stall with this set of movements
@ Eviolite Chansey
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Soft-Boiled
- Heal Bell
- Toxic/Thunder wave
- Seismic Toss

Ambipom is a plain bad poke in OU. If you want a good fast offensive pivot, I suggest you use Raikou, who pairs well offensively with M.Pinsir, and shadow ball helps you beat MMeta, who is very threatening to your team. I suggest the specs set:

Raikou @ Choice Specs
252 S.Atk / 4 S.Def / 252 spe
Ability: Pressure
Timid Nature

- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Shadow Ball

If you decide to use another poke instead of Raikou as your Ambipom replacement, using Earthquake instead of Close Combat to stop your MMeta weakness a little would help your team.

I agree with what NShader said for the other points, and other than that, pretty good team.

Actually, that EV spread is the standard for Latias. It allows it to avoid a 2HKO from Thundurus' HP Ice, while also hitting a Life Orb number to minimize recoil. I agree with most of the rest though.

Also, while the EVs for Latias were good, I see a couple weird spreads on other team members. First off, Heatran is much better as specially defensive than physically defensive. The reason is that most of the things Heatran is intended to check and switch in on are special attackers, so it benefits from SDef investment. The standard spread is 248 HP / 192 SDef / 68 Spe with a Calm nature. Physically defensive can be run, but since Birdspam isn't a huge threat in this meta (your efforts to bring it back notwithstanding), there's really no need to. However, 68 Spe is an absolute necessity, as it allows Heatran to outspeed most common sets for Mega Venusaur and Suicune. Don't worry about SAtk investment; if you're running Lava Plume, you're mostly fishing for burns anyway, and Heatran's SAtk is decent enough as it is to do a respectable amount of damage even if it doesn't get a burn.

And yeah, specially defensive Rotom-W is not as good as physically defensive, and even if it were, that EV spread still wouldn't be the greatest. The standard Rotom-W spread is 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe with a Bold nature. 44 Spe is necessary to outspeed Jolly Belly Drum Azumarill; while it's not especially common these days, you want to be able to counter it effectively if you do run into it.

While playing around with EV spreads to find a customized version that benefits your team the most isn't a bad thing, the EV spreads have to be geared towards countering specific threats to your team. In this case, I really don't see any advantage to the EV spreads as they currently are. I'd definitely recommend changing them, along with making the second, third, and fourth changes suggested by NShader.

EDIT:

changes to this Ambipom your team Chansey as Chansey is a good pokemon to do much stall with this set of movements
@ Eviolite Chansey
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Soft-Boiled
- Heal Bell
- Toxic/Thunder wave
- Seismic Toss

For God's sake, when will people learn to NOT SUGGEST PURE STALL POKEMON FOR USE ON OFFENSIVE TEAMS?! Seriously, that's one of my biggest pet peeves. Chansey has no place being on this team. Sure it's more OU viable than Ambipom, but that doesn't mean it'll actually be better for this team. The suggestions for Azelf and Raikou were both good; test both of those out to see how they work for you.

2nd EDIT
Ah, turns out I simply misread NShader's post. He wasn't talking about Latias' EV spread, he was talking about the odd IVs on Latias. I can only assume you were running HP Fire on her at some point and forgot to turn them back up, but yeah, you need to fix that. As NShader said, you want 31 SAtk and Spe, and 0 Atk.
