Hey Everybody,
I've wanted to make this team for a long time now because Mega Venusaur is a monster, so I threw this together really quick. It's been running really well but I do admit that there are some issues. Anyways, here it is:
Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 96 Def / 164 SpD
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Leech Seed
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis
Standard bulky Venusaur set, Giga Drain to restore health while still dealing damage. Leech seed to force switches and regain health, Synthesis over Sleep Powder to ensure that I can get health back, and Sludge Bomb for STAB and possible poison. 248 HP EVs to ensure that this thing is bulky and mixed SpD and Def EVs so it can switch in on physical and special attacks.
Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin
- Psyshock
I've always wanted to make a Starmie but I just haven't because I've either used Tentacruel or Excadrill or I've used Defog. Finally I get to make one because I needed a Fire and Psychic resistance because of MV and the fact that I can get those resistances on top of Rapid Spin and Ice Beam to cover Dragons makes Starmie a good member of the team. Surf and Psyshock for STAB of course! Life Orb to add extra damage, although I may switch to Leftovers or some other item, I don't want him choice though because I want him to be able to hit multiple mons if my opponent switches out. Max SpA and Speed investment to make sure he hits hard and fast along with a timid nature for more speed.
Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Mach Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Close Combat
Ah Infernape, one of my favorite Pokemon, I love his dual typing, and since I needed a Fire mon, I figured I could knock out Dark and Normal coverage as well. Life Orb and Iron Fist to help boost attack, Adamant nature duh, full attack and speed investment so he's fast and hits like a tank. Flare Blitz for super strong STAB, mach and thunder punch for stab and Iron Fist boost respectively, and Close Combat for strong fighting STAB. I debated banding or scarfing him, but I decided against it because I wanted him to be a physical sweeper of sorts, so I threw a life orb on him and now I sleep easy.
Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 108 HP / 252 Atk / 148 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Bug Bite
- Aerial Ace
It literally pains me to run a Scizor and it not be mega because Mega Sciz is one of my favorite Megas. Alas I needed an answer to fairies that was more reliable than MV's sludge bomb. Choice Band to have him hit hard along with max attack. The speed and HP EVs were random, I thought that was a decent spread, but it's up for change if needed. Technician cause that's just how Scizor is. Bullet Punch to wreck fairies and those Ice types once Infernal is gone. Pursuit to trap Gengar and hit Gardevoir hard, Bug Bite for STAB and tech boost, and Aerial Ace because I needed another Fighting cover other than Starmie Psyshock. I hate not running swords dance, but he's not supposed to be a sweeper, he's supposed to just switch in, hit hard, and come out.
Mamoswine @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 116 Atk / 140 Def
Impish Nature
- Ice Shard
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
God I love Mamoswine. Leftovers for recovery, max HP investment and the rest is random garbage. I couldn't decide if I wanted max attack or defense investment so I wen for a combination. I'm debating on changing his ability to Oblivious so he can resist a burn which makes his EQ worthless. Thick Fat is good in UU, but most OU fire-types are going to OHKO Mamo so I think I made my decision on my own hahaha. Ice Shard for Dragons and Grass types because of priority, Stealth Rock because Stealth Rock and Mamo is my lead 90% of the time. EQ for heavy STAB, and Icicle Crash for STAB and flinch.
Rotom-Wash @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
Rotom-Wash was on my first ever competitive team and has earned a spot on most of the rest of them. Choice Specs so he hits hard, max SpA, lots of health so he's bulky and takes hits. Thunderbolt for STAB, and Volt Switch in case I don't want Mamo to lead. Hydro Pump for STAB, and Will-O to hit physical attackers and make them useless.
Well that's it everybody. Please tell me if there's anything you'd change!
