Memes You Found Mk. 2

on a semi-related not how the hell do the gen 4 games handle the health bar? like early on it's fine but later on it becomes actual torture. I'd argue it drains 1 hp per frame but it's too slow even for that (the nintendo DS runs at 60fps)

I was interested too, so checking this video, the HP bar starts going down at 1.21 seconds and stops at 24.11 seconds (in-video timer), total 22.9 seconds. And the Blissey has 678 HP, so we can divide 22.9 from that.
--> 678 / 22.9 = 29.60697

So it looks like it is going down by 1 HP per frame, but maybe DPP runs at 30 FPS, or it's actually going down by 1 HP per two frames.
(no shitpost math this time)

I do see DPP running at 30fps. Frames are less needed than other DS games (dawn of sorrow comes to mind) and the maps are pretty big on top of needing to handle tons of background calculations as well as probably having some of the most uses of the DS's 3d capabilities so it's fair to say they halved the operating FPS.

can't believe people played real tournaments with this shit. i totally see why battle sims started growing in popularity around gen 4.
