Pet Mod MetaMons

hello! it's my first time posting here so sorry if it looks a little weird

Pokemon: Boltund
Type: Electric/Water
Abilities: Strong Jaw / Competitive (HA)
Stats: 89/90/70/90/70/121
Movepool: +Downcast Bite*, +Surf, +Hydro Pump, +Ice Beam, +Tearful Look, -Fire Fang
Description: i looked at boltund's 3D sprite today and i thought it looked kind of sad. so i made it a water type to represent that. downcast bite provides good speed control for its team, and it gains some special coverage as well. sadly it's still somewhat frail despite the defensive boosts and physical variants get stopped by grass types

Downcast Bite: 80 BP, 100 Acc, 10 PP, physical water move. 30% chance to lower the target's speed by 1. biting + contact move.

Pokemon: Lapras
Type: Ice/Poison
Abilities: Water Compaction* / Thick Fat (HA)
Stats: 130/75/100/95/65/60
Movepool: +Body Press, +Sludge Bomb, +Acid Armor, +Toxic Spikes, -Thunderbolt
Description: poisonous lapras! it takes advantage of water compaction's defense boosts to power up body press while also spreading poison with sludge bomb. unfortunately though, it has kinda low special bulk and no recovery options

Water Compaction: +2 defense when hit by a Water move; water immunity.

Pokemon: Dragalge
Type: Poison/Grass
Abilities: Leaf Guard / Adaptability (HA)
Stats: 75/90/90/97/123/44
Movepool: +Giga Drain, +Energy Ball, +Knock Off, +Power Whip, +Leech Seed, +Synthesis
Description: dragalge is real kelp now. idk whether having focus blast on this guy is too much or not, lmk if i should remove it

(edit: added dragalge finally)
(edit 2: accidentally had WC as a +1 boost instead of +2)

Description: The doggo finally gets STAB crunch!!! Boltund turns into a potent wallbreaker that can run a physical or special set depending on what ability. This allows for more diversity and unpredictability.

Stats: HP 64 / Atk 109 / Def 54 / SpA 103 / SpD 59 / 121 / 510
Movepool Changes::
  • +Will-O-Wisp, Flame Wheel, Fire Spin, Blaze Kick, Flamethrower, Burn Up
Description: Fast dog w/ strong bite, also could in theory run special with competitive; boosted both attacks to really help with it's damage output, most if not all the time it'd prefer to be a strong physical running strong jaw boosted Thunder-&-Fire Fang, that said, again, it could in theory try to take advantage of its access to Competitive to be a blindingly fast special attacker; for the record Wild Charge is stupid and should never be used in a physical set when this guy has Strong Jaw 97.5 Thunder Fang; tbh I just really wanna see the funny electric doggo be super strong and just, blast through the competition; fire just a kinda funny secondary typing, gives Boltund stab on Fire Fang though, so it can absolutely wreck Bellossom (assuming the latter ain't running Flash Fire) and other grasses, though that said it gets hard walled by Camerupt and has to be a little more cautious around Veluza; fast Will-o-Wisp is also pretty good, could really be used to ruin other physical attackers

Move Changes: +: Extreme Speed, Ice Fang, Hyper Fang, Stomping Tantrum, Dazzling Gleam, Surf, Lick

Description: Boltund is a very excitable dog who likes to run very fast. I decided to give it Normal type because it allows Boltund to gain some very powerful STAB moves while also thematically fitting in with Boltund's design, which I feel doesn't really lend itself well to any other type. I bumped up the attacking stats just to give it a bit more oomph and bring the stat total up to an even 500. My goal for this was to make Boltund viable as either a physical or mixed attacker and to do this I added the one of the best moves in the game in Extreme Speed. This alone gives Boltund a huge bump in power as it will be the only STAB user of Extreme Speed in the game. For the rest of the movepool I rounded it out with coverage moves that use Strong Jaw, some actual special coverage moves in Dazzling Gleam and Surf, and Lick because I mean come on, how does this lil guy not have Lick?

I really tried to make a Pokemon that was more powerful but also fit with its current design, let me know how I did!

Pokémon: Boltund
Stats: 80 (+11) / 109 (+19) / 60 / 90 / 60 / 121
Abilities: Strong Jaw / Competitive
Typing: Electric/Fairy
Move Changes: +Extreme Speed, Dragon Dance, Sparkling Fangs
Sparkling Fangs - 80 BP - Fairy-type - Physical - 95% Accuracy - 16 PP - Bite, Contact
Has a 20% chance to lower Special Attack.

Description: Ever heard of Dragapult? Boltund fills a kind of similar role to physical Dragapult, what with being a very fast, high damage Pokemon with access to Dragon Dance. Extreme Speed is there because I legitimately thought that Boltund got it anyways and I don't know why it doesn't.

other two coming soon

Description: Offensive Electric that doesn't mind Dragon-types and also a fast attacker that uses setup and low BP moves. Competitive Draco Meteor is also really funny especially for expanded with Unnerve, but of course that doesnt count

Pokémon: Dragalge
Stats: 95 / 95 / 80 / 97 / 93 / 30
Abilities: Intimidate / Adaptability
Typing: Poison / Dark
Move Changes: +Knock Off, +Pursuit, Dark Pulse, Curse, -Dragon Pulse, -Draco Meteor
Description: Muk-Alola but epic, traps and kills Veluza which seems a little bit busted given the tools have currently have. Can run wallbreaker sets too, but I like Assault Vest as a defensive Regen pivot more. EDIT: A large part of it's niche was forcefully cut because Adaptability has to be the focus ig. I would love if these subs if these sub requirements were less restrictive but w/e

:Lapras::sv/Lapras::Lapras:
Pokémon: Lapras
Stats: 130/75/100/95/85/60
Abilities: Water Absorb / Refrigerate
Typing: Ice / Fairy
Move Changes: +Moonblast, +Dazzling Gleam, +Rapid Spin, +Softboiled
Description: What do you get when you combine one of the best defensive types in the game with one of the worst? You get a semi decent wall. Has some decent utility with Refrigerate Spin or Water Absorb to increase its defensive profile and block Veluza's pivoting.

:Boltund::sv/Boltund::Boltund:
Pokémon: Boltund
Stats: 79/90/70/60/70/121
Abilities: Strong Jaw / Competitive
Typing: Electric / Ground
Move Changes: +Earthquake, +Spikes, +Stealth Rock, +Taunt, +Rapid Spin, +Earth Power, +Swords Dance, -Electrify
Description: Offensive utility that can act as a sweeper. The abilities are not really taken into account so they're kinda useless. Took away Electrify because that shit is toxic af with a Electric immune and keeping it would be malicious.

I don't really have plans to make subs this slate, but it's something that I brought up regarding last slate's wins which is running VERY rampant this slate.

From my understanding, when a slate has mandated aspects for their design, those are mandated for a reason. I bring this up because last slate, one of the design elements was to create a Pokémon who needs to have Sharpness, but the winning submission has very little desire to use it, making it's mandatory presense effectively defunct. A similar predicament is happening again here, where Adaptability is being mandated on Dragalge, but pretty much every single sub has given it an ability that it would much rather use in it's stead, whether it is Regenerator with insane bulk, or Corrosion on a Poison type that can't touch Steels otherwise. I am suggesting that this be an issue that is rectified, and submitters sit down with their subs and reflect on how the abilities being assigned interact and compete with each other, and if they would realistically use the mandated ability over another option you provided it with.

Abilities: Poison Point / Poison Touch / Adaptability
Typing: Poison / Water
Move Changes: + Knock Off, Flip Turn, Scald, Recover, Body Press
Description: Bulky Water. Gave it back Flip Turn and Scald which it lost and gave it some new tools in Knock Off and Recover which it’ll be sure to use on bulkier sets. Body Press is there for Acid Armor sets I guess.

Pokémon: Lapras

Abilities: Water Absorb / Shell Armor / Refrigerate

Description: DDmon. Usable defensive typing and amazing bulk, good STAB and coverage, priority; what more could you ask for?

Description: Lycanroc type mon, hits hard and fast but with U-Turn for pivoting now and a much more consistent rock STAB, although this should still struggle against grounds.

Typing: Poison/Ground
Move Changes: +Earth Power, Earthquake, Mortal Spin, and for flavor Mud-Slap, Mud Shot, Mud Bomb, Sand-Attack, Magnitude (do I need to specify that this gets Flip Turn back since it doesn't yet in Gen 9???)
Description: I'm shocked not a single person has done this yet, I'm sure some people might be bothered by there being two Grounds in the first two slates even though we really don't have enough mons for that to be a worry yet but that can't account for everyone. Poison/Ground should be nice here, it's not perfect defensively but still has some nice resists and the coverage is nice offensively. This sub isn't overly flashy but should do its job simply enough.

1678471590020.png

Move Changes:
+: Recover, Haze, Wish, Flip Turn, Aqua Jet, Ice Spinner, Rapid Spin, Yawn
Flavor +: Aqua Ring, Withdraw

Description: It felt wrong to take away the Water type from the Pokemon I always associate with Surf so in order to keep that and make Lapras a significantly more potent wall I gave it Multiscale. In order to hopefully keep Multiscale at least a little bit in check, I lowered its Defense and Special Defense by 10 and 15 respectively. I honestly went overboard with the moves but now Lapras is a bit of a role compression machine as it can be a cleric, spinner, and defensive pivot.

Water Compaction: Raises defense stat by 1 when hit by a Water move; water immunity

Just want to comment on this real quick, Water Compaction actually boosts Defense by 2 stages and does not provide a water immunity

You can't change Boltund's abilities. Just change Compound Eyes back.

:sv/lapras:
Loginator's Lapras:
This Pokémon will most likely not run Water Absorb due to it having Filter as an Ice/Steel Pokémon. You should either change the typing to a Water resistant one or remove Filter.

:sv/boltund:
Bluecliqse's Boltund:
Just looks generally too strong for what we have in the metagame both right now and in the power level. Lowering the Attack by 10 points would fix the issue.

:sv/lapras:
MegaFlareon's Lapras:
Pokémon is pretty much too strong with SFLO Freeze-Dry. I'd recommend either removing Freeze-Dry and Thunderbolt for Water-types to be a real check to this or just removing Sheer Force entirely.

:sv/lapras:
Beebos' Lapras:
This doesn't want to run Water Absorb even with the typing because Snow Warning gives it weather and good benefits + Filter patches up more weaknesses for it. Remove Filter or remove both abilities.

:sv/dragalge:
God of Llamas' Dragalge:
Your submission won't use Adaptability when it has SF and good added coverage. Remove Sheer Force.

:sv/dragalge:
chemicalmines's Dragalge:
This is a Pokémon that will run Levitate as a defensive mon instead of Adaptability. Since we expressed we want the Dragalge subs to use Adaptability, i recommend you remove Levitate.

:sv/dragalge:
LOrd Fernado's Dragalge:
Dragalge here seems like it would run either Corrosion or Sticky Hold. I recommend you remove Corrosion.

:sv/boltund:
LOrd Fernado's Boltund:
Quoting Runoisch here: "CB sets sound super strong with STAB Crunch and access to Close Combat and it seems overbearing combined with the speed". Remove Close Combat.

:sv/lapras:
Turtlek's Lapras:
Pure Power is simply too much. Remove Pure Power.

:sv/boltund:
WilhelmTheOkay's Boltund:
STAB Boomburst here makes this hit harder, be better, be faster and be stronger than Exploud. Also has Competitive so. Yeah i'd remove Boomburst.

:sv/boltund:
Totally_Odette's Boltund:
DD with that Attack stat looks a bit too strong. Lower Attack by 10 or remove DD and it's fine.

:sv/dragalge:
DuoM2 / APaidActor's Dragalge submissions:
These mons are grouped together because they are the only subs that don't follow the last restriction and they both need -10 SpA. Just do that.

Fix your subs until tomorrow, and then votes are opened. Or earlier if all subs are fixed.

Quick question about fixing submissions, do I need to edit the original post or make a new submission with the changes? Just making sure I do it right

Stats: 125 HP / 63 Atk / 75 Def / 97 SpA / 75 SpD / 60 Spe
Move Changes: +Psychic, +Psyshock, +Teleport, +Morning Sun, -All Dragon moves
Description: Kinda glowking vibes, but basically, it's just an interesting offensive option that's also got dope offensive potential due to Adaptability and its double STAB that can go neutral or super effective by everything but Steel-types, who also get smashed by Focus Blast mostly or it can just pivot on them. Still slow as hell though.
