A MLB thread? Time to flood this thread for the next 6 months, lol!

Marlins are 5-1........... I hope this is the year they break out of nowhere to win it all.

I mean, just finish this pattern: 1997, 2003, ____

The Jays really have it clicking on the offense! If the pitching can stay even semi-decent behind Halladay, .500 at least, we have the playoffs. Halladay will give us something like a 20-8 record, which is like +12. If the rest go 500, then we have ~93 wins! That should be enough to sneak into the playoffs. Lind doesn't look like a fluke, both he and Snider were absolute steals on my fantasy team!

Mariners just have to win this game and they will tie with there best starting record ever from 2001: 7-2! But they're losing to the Angels!

BBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ANGELS!

Edit: Endy Chavez I love you!

Edit 2: GRIFFEY!!!!!!!!!!! HE just set the record, with 400 homeruns, the most home runs with one team! GO GRIFFEYYY!

Seriously, fuck the mariners. 4-2 bottom of the sixth atm. And weaver fucking errored, got Johnson a score because Gutierrez sacrificed, and since our fantastic pitcher errored, got called safe anyway. Asshats.

Well the game against the angels tonight will be good, but it will be fun to see the mariners wipe the floor with the tigers :)

(God I hate tory hunter..)

I have to make my annual complaint - how the FUCK do the Marlins keep getting rewarded for their ownership's casual disdain of all their fans! 9-1 with HALF the next lowest team's salary! They jettison players year after year, the owner obviously does not care to succeed...and they start the year 9-1!!!! Ahhhhhh!!!! I am happy to see it for the fanbase, but I hate that the owner/whoever else is responsible for the self-sabotage gets away with this!

chien-ming wang's era through 2 games : 34.50

ps go TIGERS, the central seems like it's really up for grabs this year.

Loki's right, it really looks like anyone could take the Central, even the Royals =/

I'm sorry moot but your Angels are hurting =(

THE JAYS ARE STILL IN FIRST. We won today too, walkoff ^_^
As long as the rest of the AL East keeps sucking or going .500, we're off to the playoffs! But seriously, the Yankees will lose Sabathia to donuts, Burnett will be the next Pavano, getting injured from sitting on the toilet too long, Wang has a damn ERA of 34.50 ffs -.-

cyber, man, as much as i love the jays be realistic! I am in no way hell going to be a believer with such shaky pitching. We gave a 4 run lead to purcey and he blew it in one inning.

I gave this 10 more games

Yeah Cyber do you know why we're hurting? Because we aren't the Angels right now. We are nowhere near close to our peak. You'll know when we are however because we will win game after game after game.

We're doing bad because John Lackey our ace is on 15-day injured reserve, another star pitcher Ervin Santana is also on 15-day injured reserve, and Kelvim Escobar is coming back from an injury. An up and coming pitcher in our ballclub just died recently and now our star player(Vlad) is going to be out for a month due to a pec injury ;_;.

And the good news? Escobar,Santana, and Lackey all come back around the same time....I hope the American League is ready for this.

EDIT: Oh and I don't think the Central is up for grabs. I think the Twins will take it, somewhat easily too. They were the best team in the Central last year even if the ChiSox won the division. They are still the best without a doubt.

Dodgers are on a roll! Many with 2 homeruns today and Ethier is producing as well. Not to mention we started this cycle fad with Orlando Hudson

The Royals' first three starters (Meche, Greinke, and Davies) are the best three in the AL, if not the majors right now, and they will be better than your beloved Angels' rotation.

Seriously, you make all these excuses for why the Angels aren't doing great, but none of that matters. The better teams will have depth so that they don't go down the shitter when their players get injured.

Are you dense? Maybe it has only been two weeks, but every team in that division has shown potential and it should be a dogfight for first place for the entire season.

Yeah, the Twins are easily the best team in the division because they just swept the Angels! Obviously they are the greatest team!

Best in majors? I understand that you can be a fan of the Royals, but you have to look up the stats if you're going to make statements. Multiple pitchers in the MLB have a better ERA, WHIP, more innings pitched over their games played. This isn't to take away from what they've done, all with formidable ERAs (low 2>x) , but you can't go away saying that they are the Best Three Starters in the AL, especially in a season this young.

You are certainly right. The attitude in my post was driven by my frustration with Kyle Farnsworth, so I made rather hasty claims.

Regardless, I am extremely familiar with the stats. The three starters are combined averaging over 6 innings a start, 7 strikeouts per start, and have a <3.00 ERA. Greinke is perfect so far at 20 IP with 0 ER.

With that said, I do agree that you can't judge based on a season that is only 2 weeks long. By making overstated claims myself, I was just trying to illustrate how asinine it is to provide so many excuses for a struggling team. (In reference to NightFalcon.) The fact of the matter is that the Angels aren't doing well.
