Since Internet-enabled devices are the new trend these days (i.e. iPhones, iPod Touches, Blackberrys, etc), I was thinking Smogon's developers/programmers should take a crack at either a mobile-friendly website or a full-blown mobile application for various platforms. Or at least just the iPhone OS since its so prevalent and accessible.

The hopes and dreams of Shoddy Battle going mobile is probably slim-to-none, but I don't see why this site couldn't go mobile.

Why do you guys think?

I am typing this post on my iPod touch, and I'm having absolutely no problems. iPhone versions of websites tend to be worse than browsing the regular site on your mobile (gamespot and wikipedia come to mind)

My T-mobile sidekick can't post on smogon, but it can on other forums such as smashboards.

Hence why i don't(can't) post as much as I usually can. It used to work but something changed and now it doesn't. ='[

I don't expect smogon to change this just for us, however, so it's more likely than not a lost cause.

This Itouch works fine

before my itouch was stolen, I used smogon and the forums all the time, and it worked great.

yup, im on psp right now, i can't see pictures, but otherwise im fine.

Yeah, I know guys. I happen to have a Palm Pre and an iPod Touch. Facebook, etc have mobile applications. Since I guess Smogon isn't considered a social network, it wouldn't be plausible to create a mobilized version of the site. It would help with accessibility, however.

The Sidekick does not have an advanced HTML browser compared to the iPhone, and Palm's WebOS. When you are eligible for a new phone, I suggest not getting another Sidekick. Especially after the fiasco with Danger and everyone's data. Android is a great alternative if you plan to stay with T-Mobile.

It's definitely possible, although the coding is probably low on the list due to the staff's other commitments. I use a couple of different mobile forums. My favourite is the NeoGAF Web App. I'm less fond of the RedFlagDeals Mobile. CheapAssGamer's Mobile Skin is a middle ground for me. Some of those might not work unless you use a mobile device (Phone, PSP, iPod, etc)
