MonsterGross!!

Everyone uses metagross's attack stat the most but I thought of a metagross that can kill a shit load of pokemon that he usually hates. This is the mixgross that I made with alot of thought and called it MonsterGross!!

Metagross@Life Orb
Clear Body
238Atk/128Spd/144SpA
Rash
-Brick Break
-Grass Knot
-Psychic
-Thunder Punch

The evs in speed is to outspeed CBTyranitar. The atk&SpA evs are for the damage. Life Orb is for the boost to do what he can do!! I specifically designed him to be a tank/wall/lead destroyer but there are those who he can not beat of course.

Damage Calculation:

Brick Break

Blissey(252HP/252Def) Bold
55-62%

Empoleon(252HP/0Def) Calm
65-72%

Lucario(252HP/96Def) Adamant [Bulkycario]
75-88%

Skarmory(252HP/252Def) Impish [after Roost]
38-44%

Snorlax(252HP/6Def) Careful
58-69%

CBTyranitar(60HP/0Def) Adamant/Jolly
114-133%

DDTyranitar(6HP/0Def) Adamant/Jolly
118-139%

Tyraniboah(252HP/0Def) Quiet
100-118%

Weavile(6HP/0Def) Adamant/Jolly
220-259%

Even though it OHKO a few things, 2HKO alot of things, and does crap to skarmory i like it. Hammer arm could do more but then some pokes are going to be faster than you and like I kind of do not like that but it can work. Meteor Mash is also good and has stab but then Brick Break can remove the Kind of common Light Screen or Reflects from bronzongs, Jirachi, and Magnezones. Hammer Arm and Meteor Mash have a tendancy of missing on me at crutical moments.

Grass Knot

Donphan(252HP/252Def) Impish
103-122%

Gliscor(252HP/252Def) Impish [After Roost]
50-58%
Hippowdon(252HP/252Def) Impish
85-101%

Mamoswine(252HP/6SpD) Adamant
97-114%

Milotic(252HP/252Def) Bold
48-57%

Rhyperior(252HP/252Def) Adamant/Impish
136-160%

Rhyperior(252HP/252Def) Adamant/Impish [Sandstream]
91-107%

Slowbro(252HP/252Def) Bold
56-66%

Swampert(252HP/200Def) Impish/Relaxed
100-117%

He can OHKO-2HKO alot of the bulky ground and waters in the game. Grass Knot is a very good move on this guy and that is the reason that he can deal with all these guys who can usually come in on metagross but the only one that can come in is gliscor(5HKO with GK) and Vaporeon(4HKO with GK).

Psychic

Breloom(252HP/0SpD) Adamant [Anti-starter]
144-170%

Machamp(252HP/0SpD) Adamant [Bulk upper]
92-109%

Heracross(6HP/0SpD) Adamant/Jolly [Choice Band/Scarf]
107-127%

Weezing(252HP/252Def) Bold
124-148%

Psychic is very good with stab but I heard that i should put Hidden power Fire but then lose some coverage against weezing(4HKO), machamp(Bulk upper is 6HKO), heracross(2-3HKO), and maybe Breloom(2HKO on anti-lead).
He though does gain coverage against Bronzong(252HP/252SpD calm is a 4HKO and heatproof is worse), Forretress(OHKO), Magnezone(172HP/0SpD is 2HKO or you can use brick break/hammer arm if Metagross has it), Metagross(252HP/0SpD is 2-3HKO), Tangrowth(2HKO), and Yanmega(2HKO).

Thunder Punch

Aerodactyl(6HP/0SpD) Adamant/Jolly
102-120%

Gyarados(212HP/180Def) Adamant [BulkyDos]
113-133%

Swellow(6HP/0SpD) Adamant/Jolly
125-148%

Togekiss(252HP/240Def) Calm [Baton Pass]
48-57%

Vaporeon(188HP/252Def) Bold
48-56%

Even though all this, he has problems with specsmence, mixmence, and CBGyarados!!

Half the Pokemon you list will die to boosted Meteor Mash anyway...

To list a few:

Blissey
Snorlax
Tyranitar
Weavile
Mamoswine
Breloom
Heracross
Aerodactyl
Swellow
Togekiss

All these take either more than/the same as the moves used to kill them from your set.

The only thing that makes sense there is Grass Knot, for the obvious physical threats.

why did you double-thread this?

also, Brick Break is, imho, a shitty move. if you really want a Fighting-Type move on 'Gross, use Hammer Arm. you might get a few haters who like saying "Hammer Arm is n00b," though.

grass knot is a special attack so i think you should calculate their special defense instead of their defense.

almost noone uses those pokes as sp. walls though.
but yeah, meteormash usually kills most of the ones you listed

If your opponent assumes that it's a physical set they might send one of those in. So Grass Knot is a good move on this set.

IMO Hammer Arm is worth it since that speed just seems for TTar, which Hammer Arm murders.

Meteor Mash has base 100 power, Brick Break has base 75. With STAB factored in, MM should be doing the exact same amount as BB in situations where MM is neutral and BB is SE, and situations where MM is NVE and Brick Break is neutral. Of the ones you listed, Blissey, Skarmory, TTar, and Weavile fall into that list. If you're using T-punch, it'll do almost as much damage to Empoleon as BB anyways, and Lucario will probably still be 2HKO'd by Psychic or HP Fire (didn't calculate this, not totally sure if it's right).

So...considering that Brick Break scores equal or near-equal damage when compared to most of the other moves on the targets you did calculations on, I'd say that it really doesn't have much of a place here. And Meteor Mash is a much better move overall. MM's greatly increased power (double BB if they're both neutral) and a chance to raise attack easily compensates for Brick Break's better accuracy and coverage.

A pretty decent set I guess don't really see the point of psychic very much as Zen Headbut does what it does minus the SDef drop. Grass Knot however is good on Gross as it covers those who switch into him usually. MM>BB as MM hits for almost the same damage with the calcs you posted, and gets STAb to boot and really puts a dent on most things.

rofl I used a similar set against SePh before. It works best with CBTar, since the stuff that counters Tar can be taken down by Meta and the stuff that counters Meta can be destroyed by Tar

Metagross @ Expert Belt
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SAtk
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Icy Wind
- Grass knot
- Hammer Arm
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Basically, HP Fire takes on Skarmory and Forry, Icy Wind cripples or destroys Gliscor and Garchomp, Grass knot for obvious reasons and Hammer Arm so that Bliss doesn't wall it.

It's more of a surprise set than anything else, though, and it would've destroyed SePh's second team if Grass Knot didn't bug up in AA's server

Hmm seems interesting, but whilst I appreciate originality, standards are standard for a reason. Sometimes, the odd set like ChainChomp or the Mixed Electivire may come along that work, but for the most part unless they do something radical and hit their common switch ins even harder then usual. In this case, CBGross hits almost all the pokemon you listed above equally or harder to your set, so theres really no point (except Grass Knot for Hippowdon). I prefer something like Jibaku's set, which actually hurts its common switch ins.

arent they both weak to ground though?
imagine gliscor/meta/tar
pwn't

Psychic is unnecessary because nothing it kills except Weezing would switch in on Metagross in the first place. This goes double for Brick Break because everything is hit harder with Meteor Mash or Thunderpunch. Besides . . . why would a Weavile/Blissey/Tyranitar/Snorlax/Empoleon be up against Metagross? Meteor Mash is also Metagross's only good way to damage Cresselia, why would you not use it?

Oh, and taking hits.

No one ever seems to do this without being asked. What sort of damage does this thing take from common switch-ins? You 2HKO a lot of things, so those things will be able to attack you back and it would be a shame if you died....

I think a CB set would like do better, meteor mash runs through most things, zen headbutt> psychic, EQ still hits some of those walls pretty hard, only problems being Gliscor and Swampert, but MM runs through them fairly well either way.
